~ Happy Easter ~

  1. I hope you all had a blessed week end. We had a small dinner here.
I have been put on high calcium and prescript. & vitamin D. Seems I am not getting much sunshine. Gee, I wonder why, here in gloomy Mich. Snowing today is certainly no help!
Two yrs of no cruises or trips to Mex. have left me depleted lol!
Hope you are all doing well.

  2. Mary, congrats on being the first to land.
Hopefully the sun will start cooperating and you can soak it up. In the meantime, maybe you should get one of those lamps that provides the same kind of rays as the sun. I’ve heard they can help supply the vitamin D.

I don’t really have anything new to report. Easter was very quiet. I hope you all had a nice day and are all well. ❤️

  3. Barb It rained a few nights ago and is starting to rain a bit now. I think most of the rain is supposed to arrive late tonight. We need every drop, that's for sure.

So I got my second COVID booster last Tuesday. I got it at Rite Aid this time which is just 5 minutes away from me. It went well and no side effect besides getting really tired. I slept over 11 hours that night and remained really tired the next day.

I had a hair cut appointment on Thursday. I was not wearing a mask and neither was the hairdresser. Now she came down with COVID but says she was exposed to it later that night. The person she got it from didn't have any symptoms until Sunday. All the hairdresser has is a froggy throat. I had to go back to the salon on Saturday to get a face mask that fell out of my purse, but that was a quick in and out trip. I think I was getting carried away with not wearing my mask and I need to get more conscientious about it again. We have low positivity numbers here and, at this point, when you go in a store, half the people are wearing and mask and half aren't. Breathing is easier with my asthma if I don't wear one.

I'm glad your kidney cysts have not gotten worse.

  4. Mary What did you make for Easter dinner? I went to a friend's house and had my Easter meal with her family. The made way too much food. The has shish-kabobs (beef, lamb, or vegetarian), rice, rice, green salad, I brought ambrosia salad, and there were two kinds of cakes. I came home with leftovers, including some chocolate cake. Yay me! There were 10 of us there for dinner and I'm pretty sure we could have fed twice that many.

I've been taking calcium and extra vitamin D3 for years now. Unless you're working outside everyday, I think most people in the Pacific North West can use some extra D. It has definitely helped with the thin skin problem. I still get occasional bruise on my fingers or back of my hands when I knock into something but not nearly as often as I used to and my skin doesn't rip when my hand or arm hits something like it used to. I'm very glad that that doesn't happen anymore.

I plan on making a simple version of Chicken Tortilla soup so I can use up some tortilla chips. I should be chopping vegetables right now but I'm feeling very lazy.

  5. Dianne Where are you? I'm glad those Kansas winds didn't pick you up and carry you to Oz.

I hope you and Louis are doing okay. You better check in before we come looking for you.

How did it go on Easter with your big group and no reservations at the restaurant? I hope it all worked out in the end.

  7. I forgot to mention that Jane and I went to the movie theater a week ago and saw "The Lost City" starring Sandra Bullock. It was a fun movie with plenty of laughs. Just what the doctor ordered. The last time we went to the movies was November 2019 and we saw "Knives Out" then and her husband was still alive and attended with us. I found that ticket stub in my jacket pocket when I put it on the go the the movies this time.

  8. JustLin. I assumed anyone in the far west had daily sunshine. "Sunny California".
For Easter, I made a turkey breast, mashed taters, Spinach, corn, homemade cherry pie, deviled eggs and homemade bread.
Yesterday I made lasagna. Enough of this comfort food lol! I want spring and summer! We had non stop snow yesterday. The ground has warmed up, so not much stuck.
I am ready to do some yard work. I went out to refill the bird feeders, and my hands were soooo cold! I may have put my gloves away too soon :(

I have not been to a movie theater in over 10 years! No one to go with around here. I don't mind going alone, but I guess there hasn't been a movie out that really interests me. "Lost City" sounds fun. I may venture out for that.
I sure hope the Calcium and Vit. D works for me too. I hate taking any pills, but I guess I need these. Too bad the calcium pills are so big!!

Barb, good hearing from you :)

Dianne, we want to hear about your trip!

Where are you Seaside & Bebbi? Life gets in the way I know. Just sign in with a "BURB" so we know you are ok lol!!

  9. That was supposed to be "BURP" LOL!!

  10. Mary Because of the size of calcium pills, I take Viactiv chewables twice a day instead, chocolate flavor. There's some extra D and K in it, too.

  11. Mary The northern California coast has plenty of sunny days but also plenty of overcast days. That's how it is living at the beach. Also, I don't have a lifestyle that has me outside that much.

  12. JL, I just saw on the late news that rain is expected again next week for a couple of days. I hope it drops more than out last rain.
I was just thinking about getting that second covid booster. Does Rite Aid do walk ins or did you have to make an appointment? I have a Rite Aid about five minutes away, whereas Kaiser is about 25 minutes away.

Dianne, How was your Easter? Did you have a long wait at the restaurant? Did your grandkids join you on Easter? You haven’t mentioned them much lately. Does Kayla have the same nice boyfriend that you liked?

Mary, Better keep those gloves handy. It’s probably too early to put the winter garb away.

  13. Barb I happened to make an appointment but they say walk-ins are welcome. There was no one else there when I arrived to check in at Drop Off window. Only one other person arrived when I was waiting the 15 minutes after the shot. On their website, they say to bring driver license, Kaiser card, and Medicare card. That's when I realized I didn't have the new Medicare card with letters and numbers but did have communication from Medicare that had my new number on it. It turns out they didn't even want to look at that. They said it was all covered with the Kaiser card.

  14. Hi…..I’m here. Been hectic since we got back it seems. It doesn’t help when I’m an barely walk. I went for shoulder and both hip X-rays. Boy did that hurt bad on the table. I could barely lay there straight with legs flat. Plus I’m scared getting on and off the table and can’t breathe either. I used my new inhaler but I don’t think it works. I was breathless snd gasping by the time I got to the car. I used oxygen tonight. It’s been running in low 80’s. Not good. Easter turned out really nice. We got a table right away in the back dining area which was perfect. Yes, the girls and boyfriend Michael was there too my nieces babies are so cute. Lydia will be two in May. Tammy and I met them ..girls and Michael Friday with Tammy. He paid for himself and Kayla. I about fainted. She said nana he paid for me too. I said k that’s normal. It’s calked a date. I had seen her Thursday night too and she was telling me that they had a disagreement. She said they talked it out…no yelling and e everything was fine. She’s used to those losers punching walls and shooting guns..hoodlums! I’m. It nuts about his tattooes or hers either. I’m learning to not look at those little things. I’m just so glad she’s seeing someone that is normal and works. You may have seen a picture on my fb. I’ve never seen k look so content. Our trip was very nice. We over the show…of course…on Monday a new friend there that works there took off work and we met for breakfast. It was really nice. It took us a day and a half to get there. It’s right by Kansas City. I’ll tell you one thing…my breathing was so much easier. I used walker more and that helped so much. This altitude here is really causing me issues. Thefwind on the whole trip was terrible driving.
Bev, I’m so sorry about your mom. I so hope and pray she makes a full recovery. It’s so darn scary that you’re fine one day and not the next. Is she still in the hospital or home!
Mary, how’s Jim doing? Is he feeling better? I think u need to go on a cruise. Can u leave Jim to do that with Matthew there? Can he care for him if need be?
We got our booster shots last week when we came home. Only reaction was my arm hurt for three days but it usually does but not Louis’s. Oh yes..louis is better and did fine with driving. I drove some while he took a nap. I like that so I can turn up the music and sing. He sleeps right through it. Sounds like everyone had a nice Easter. I went back to Ww yesterday. I don’t care for their new program but I need to be weighed every week and be accountable. It was a come to meeting when I got on the scale. Not pretty! I don’t be en know if I’ll follow so closely right now. I got a special for $5 for three months and then I’ll renegotiate
Hope all r doing well. Sorry I was among the missing and nice you were looking for me.

  15. Dianne, I’m glad you all didn’t have to wait for a table on Easter. Are you going to have to consider moving to a lower altitude, since you are having so many issues with your breathing?
Yesterday was my grandson Josh’s birthday and tomorrow they are celebrating with his Mom’s side of the family, because Dean and his wife both are getting over COVID. so Chad and I are going to join them at The Spaghetti Factory. I just told Chad the other day that I was craving meatballs and spaghetti and want to make a big batch! I will probably still make it, because while Spaghetti Factory’s is good, it’s not like my homemade. I’m glad Louis is better. I wish you could get some relief for your breathing issues. It’s nice to hear that Kayla has a nice boyfriend and is happy. I’m not crazy about tattoos, either, but if that’s his only real downside, consider her lucky. Dean has a hugh tattoo on his back and shoulder, and I really hate it, but I have never said anything to him about it.

  16. Hi barb, no, if you say anything about their tattoos they get mad. It’s going to look terrible in a wedding dress some day. Oh well. I pretend now that I’m interested. Yes, after the two losers she was with before I can for sure deal with his tattoos. I like the spaghetti factory. Haven’t been there for a long time. Parking isn’t great there. Well, I’m going to call my pulmonary dr Monday and get an appt. My last two were virtual. I think I’m going to have to go on full time oxygen. I’ve been looking at some of it. My oxygen runs in the 80’s…not good. I don’t want to move away from the kids and my friends at this age. I really did some long thinking about it when we were in Kansas. If I moved somewhere and didn’t know anyone depression would set in and that’s not healthy for me either. I just had to weigh it all out to myself. I hope Dean and his wife aren’t too sick. Have a fun time at the birthday dinner.

  17. Oh I forgot something….
Hi....I met a lady at the restaurant today on oxygen ..younger than me...and talked to her about what she used. She ended up writing it all down for me, giving me her number and even said she'd come to my house to explain it to me. That was so nice of her. I've been checking my oxygen throughout the day and it's always about 85/or lower. Not great going to castle rock with barb for a late lunch tmrw it's about 30 min away. About the only place I can eat Mexican that isn’t too hot.

    Bev, how’s your mom today?,

  18. Dianne, I worry about you! I hope you are able to find a solution. Before my SIL passed, she was on full time Oxygen. She would hide it when we, or any one else, would visit. She was already in bad health. Her biggest fear was dying from cancer like her Mom, sister & brother. I think her alcoholism had a lot to do with it. She was also a clean freak. Daily using all type of toxic cleaners. She did not dye of cancer. :(

I have been worried about Zoie. She has been listless all day. I will be taking her to the Vet if she is not better by morning. I nag Jim all the time about dropping his meds. His crippled up hands are not very steady. I sure hope she didn't find an old pill he dropped! He says he dropped one last week! I sure hope she didn't find it!
Say a few doggie prayers please!

  19. oops, I should spell check myself! "die, not dye".
