  1. Hi….aren’t any of you going to post anymore? Makes me sad. We had a nice thanksgiving. Different not being with family this year for first time ever. Barb, louis and I went out and it was good. We had reservations. I need to clean up my house this weekend as cleaning lady comes Wednesday. I have presents and things everywhere in the kitchen. It’s a mess! Snow is expected this week to my dismay. I get to start pt again next week. I haven’t been too great with my exercises at home and she really stretches me. I can nor believe Christmas upside in a month. Time flies. It will be time for cruise soon.

I don’t have much more to report about right now. Just wanted to check in. Instill haven’t done my cards yet. JL have you done yours yet? I think you’ll beat me this year. Please each of you check in please.

  2. I had a very busy week. I had no cleaning lady :( I washed down all the cupboards, steamed cleaned the floors, dusted, shook out all rugs, totally scrubbed out the bathroom, baked pumpkin pie, prepared turkey and all the fixin's set table, set up chairs, decorated the tree, all this while trying to not ignore Zoie! LOL! I think she got nervous with all my running around. She threw up a couple of times. We have been cuddling for a few days and taking it easy. She seems more tired then me!
I had my sis and her hubby,my Niece Raquel, her hubby and daughter and her Mother-in-law, plus Jim,& Matthew. It may not sound like a lot of people, but my house is small! All went well :)
I have a few aches and pains to deal with now. I have been using reflexology from FB reels. There is a lot of information in them. I have written some down on index cards, especially the shoulder and leg info. Too much for me to remember lol!
    Hoping you are all well.

  3. oops, I used the wrong word. I should have said I am practicing "Neuropathy" instead of "reflexology",altho I do use it for my feet therapy.

  4. Mary You are such a hard worker. I feel like I need a rest just reading all that you get done. I had a very lazy and easy Thanksgiving. I just today took down my fall decorations and am trying to get in the mood to bring out the Christmas stuff. That probably won't happen until December starts.

Last week I spilled a bunch of hot, melted butter on my shoe. Not only did it soak into the fabric part of the shoe, but also into the suede trim. I was very upset about it as I have a hard time finding shoes that fit me well. Anyway, my friend suggested I rub Dawn dish soap into it and then wash it in OxiClean (which they gave me). It worked! I was so happy. If I really look for it, I can see where the grease stain was but only in certain light and I have to really look hard to see it.

I had my handyman guy come and replace a board on the back of my house that was getting dry rot along it's lower edge. Fortunately, I still had a little bit of the paint that the house is painted with so he was able to paint the new board and it all looks good as new. I also had him take away the satellite dish off of my house and take it away. I have a cable service and haven't used a satellite service for years. I'm really glad to see it gone.

  5. Dianne No, I haven't gotten around to the Christmas cards, yet. I also need to get postage stamps for them. Some days my handwriting is better than other days so I'll have to do it on a "good day". I think my bad days are due to how much I'm using the mouse on the computer (playing games).

I'm glad you had a nice dinner out with your friend, Barb. My dinner was different. The turkey breast was treated with the same brown sugar coating as the hams are from Honey Baked Ham. Therefore, it tasted a lot like ham to me or at least reminded me too much of ham. Definitely not the turkey breast taste I was expecting. That's what a get for ordering a turkey dinner from a ham company. LOL Their dressing was really delicious and had pecans in it. I also really liked their yam souffle a lot. My friend, Jane, dropped off some of her creamed broccoli to me when on her way to her family gathering. It's always delicious.

  6. Barb I hope you are able to get in here to read this. Did Chad do a good job making your Thanksgiving dinner?

My Ameriprise financial adviser came to my house the day before Thanksgiving to help me with some paperwork. It's the first time I met him face to face as he is the son of my former advisor who died earlier this year. It was really nice to visit with him as I was very fond of his dad. Anyway, he helped me fill out a 12 page application for Charles Schwab. I had been informed a few weeks ago that my former boss at the veterinary hospital left me $25,000 to be distributed out of her IRA account. I needed to open up an account with them so the money could be put into it, creating a paper trail. Once that gets established, I have it roll over into my IRA at Ameriprise. I was very, very shocked at Nancy's generosity. Apparently, there was 7 of us former employees that she left money to. Amazing!

I know Mary and Dianne are in much colder weather than you or I, but I swear I just can't seem to feel warmed up in this house unless I'm under a blanket. For one thing, at this time of year my house is in the shade of mountain. Also, I think my house must be drafty. I have double pane windows so there's not much more I can do about that.

  7. Hi…..JL , we usually go to my x-sil Andy and Wendy’s for thanksgiving and they always get that turkey breast from honey baked ham. I think it tastes awful plus I’m partial to dark meat. It doesn’t taste like turkey at all. That is one of the many reasons I don’t like to go there. Well, our dinner was different too but was very good. It was just a weird day this year. My granddaughter Emilee said they missed me too and talked about how it was different. At least they thought of me! I finally got my cards done last night late. Louis put them in the mail today. Ha…I beat u! It takes so long writing a little note in each card. I do send out over 100 too. I found forever Christmas stamps from a year or so ago. Snow here tonight. I changed some plans for tmrw. I was picking up two friends for lunch but one is 90 and on a cane and then me with the little walker. Not great on snow so we just rescheduled. My hair changed from Thursday to tmrw anyway. Tnrw I have to tell my hairdresser that I’m going to go to Kayla’s in January. I dread telling her after all these years. Kayla is doing really good at the place where she’s renting a booth. She’s busy a lot and I see major maturing in this more responsible job. Finally.

We r planning for Emilee’s college graduation. She graduates on Dec 16 and then party on the 17th. She’s going into social work. . We r so darn proud of her. She’s worked very hard for this degree. It looks like the girls are finally looking more at their future. Kayla is still with Michael and we really like him. Em is still with stefon and he’s a senior in Oklahoma. He hopefully graduates in may. Hopefully he will do something in sports. He took a major in sports medicine. We will see. To me he’s not the most ambitious person but hopefully after school is done it will be getting a decent job and he did work this summer at a sporting goods store. Time will tell.

Mary, all u do exhausts me too. I have to plan just to do my cards. Tonight my plan was to clean off the kitchen counter from too many Amazon pkgs. cleaning lady coming Wednesday so I have to start cleaning for her to come! Mary, do u have your Christmas things up yet. I like it up early.

Barb, r u able to get on here? I hope so. We r a little tiny close group. Well, broncos suck this year worse than ever. We think our new coach will be fired. Our $245 million quarterback ,Russell Wilson is absolutely terrible and we have no,offense. Lots of no shows at the games. It’s not only bad but the games are boring. Wonder what our new owners are thinking. ,

Ok, I’m going to do a little more in office and then it’s bed time. Nice to see you guys!
