An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: ‘He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3. He’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?’
Not sure if anyone read my post before this new one so I am pasting it again.

Hi all. Hope you are all enjoying the Holiday weekend. Pretty boring here, which is a good thing considering lol! We don't need anymore excitement here!
Zoi is back to only using her enclosed area for doing her business. I get too nervous walking her around the open yard. Jim is always on stand-by.
JustLin, Jim was not home when Zoie was attacked. Matthew had his ear set on. I am surprised the little girl heard me. Her parents said the didn't hear because they had the motor home running in preparation for their trip.
Wow! Ursula was 82#s! I can barely lift Zoie at 18#s!
I wish you lived close by too, as I would not have to drive across town to give away leftovers lol!
Dianne, you need to "copy & paste" your comments. I do, I hate re writing posts and forget most of what I wrote!
Dianne, Jim's brother lives in Michigan north of Detroit. Bout 1 & 1/2 hr away. The Syrjala's are not much on visiting. I used to nag at Jim for not stopping to see his late sis Shirley when in town about a 15 minute drive from us!
I am glad you had good news from both Drs, but why not concerned about your breathing?
Holey cow on your DDS bill!
Barb. Thinking of you. Hoping all goes well with your sister's move. I am sure it is stressful for you.
I sure hope my kids don't have problems with me lol! Just sit me by water and play oldies on my earphones and I will behave :)
Will write later we r in Branson now. I have quite a story about r two day road trip. Not fun
ReplyDeleteOh dear Dianne! Sorry you have had travel problems. Who's driving? Let us know how you are doing please.
ReplyDeleteMary I'm glad that your little Zoie is healing and doing better. It's probably a good idea to stay close by when taking her our for her business. You surely don't want to go through another trauma like that again.
ReplyDeleteNothing much going on here. I enjoyed the two dinners I got from Home Chef last week. Since each is for two servings, that means each is enough for two dinners for me. Yay for leftovers that I just need to reheat. Cook once and eat twice. That works for me. Plus, it gets me to do a little more than I would normally. I wouldn't normally simmer sliced pear and apple in a maple-mustard sauce to put over my chicken. Nor would I bother with garlic aioli with minced chives to put on my little sirloin steak, but it sure was delicious. It's making it more interesting to cook for just me. Tomorrow I will make one of the two dinner kits that were delivered yesterday. Tonight I'm make fish, rice pilaf and broccoli. I think my life revolves around food. LOL
Dianne It sounds like Ashton had a great game. Congrats to him. How nice that Todd got acknowledged as a first responder and that you and Louise could be there.
ReplyDeleteOuch about your tooth. Not just for the root canal but also about the bill. I sure don't miss that stuff. I guess when I get too old to care for myself, someone will have to put my dentures in my mouth. I guess I'll deal with that indignity when I get there.
I hope you are having a fabulous time in Branson with no more problems. I am anxious to hear about the trip to get there. I'm sorry there were difficulties. Be safe and be careful.
Barb Yesterday, Jane and I went to see the latest My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie. It was her idea so she tolerated it better than I did. If it was a TV movie, I would have turned it off after the first 15 minute4s or so. Afterwards, we went and got Philly Cheesesteaks, which are always good, than came back to my house to continue watching the two shows we are currently watching together; Unforgotten on PBS and The Lincoln Lawyer on NETFLIX. At least I enjoy both of those. A movie I think I'd like to see in the theater is Equalize r3 with Denzel. You can't go wrong with Denzel.
ReplyDeleteHow's it going with your sister? I forgot when you plan to get her moved. I'm so glad you found a place for her that you feel comfortable with.
Justlin, You meal box looks good. I love that you can split them. makes the cost worth it.
ReplyDeleteZoie is much better. Her scab on her back has not fallen off yet. It went pretty deep.
I will be going to Indiana this week end. My Niece is getting married. This is her second marriage. She is such a sweet heart. She was married a long time to a very much introvert, while my Niece has always been fun and adventurist. He never traveled or visited family with her. We rarely saw him. She is the head of the trauma center at an Indiana hospital. She is one of my favorite Nieces. One other reason I wanted to go, was to see my Brother, her Father. He lives in New Mexico. He is Jim's age, 79, and still very active in his community. I can't wait to see him. I will be riding down with my sis Lena and her hubby. We are all staying at the same hotel.
Dianne, I have been worried about you1 Check in, or do I have to "nudge" you?
