For Amicus

there are times in life when
one cannot know the outcome
we do not have a crystal ball
to tell us what will happen

we must trust ourselves and
our thoughts to guide us thru
we must believe in ourselves
as if we don't, what do we have?

it is in life, that we lose what we
love most, it is and will always
be the most difficult time that
any human must go thru

at this time is when we find in
our heart the memories, the precious
things that have occurred thru the years

and in our hearts we know we did
what we could, we loved as we only knew
how to love, with our whole being

it might be time to say goodbye

however we are glad to say hello
to the memories, as the comfort this
brings us will carry us thru~

  3. Beautiful Carol..

I agree with you, and so well said.

The joy of loving, and being loved by a pet, goes on forever. It doesn't stop, even when the physical touch disappears.

    Thinking of you, Amicus.

  9. Good morning, Audrey, Lynn, and Judy!

I'm just full of good mornings this morning! Don't know why... it's dreary, overcast, and raining... maybe Carol's post reminded me again to be kind to my fellow humans... our "life trip" is so short, and is often such a battle.

  10. Good Morning Carol, Your tribute to Amicus is so beautifully written I am left speechless. I have so many words in my heart but I can't express them. I am sure they will help Amicus through this difficult time.

Good Morning Goldie, Ronnie, Shirley, Whabbear, East Bay J and Lynn D. I hope you all have a great Friday.

Shirley - Thank you for thinking of breakfast. Blueberry waffles and bacon with a hot cup of tea would go so nicely right now.

Whabbear - It's overcast here too but there is the smell of Spring in the air. That helps a bit.

Amicus - Please know we are thinking of you. I will wait to hear from you but take all the time you need. We will be here when you want to talk about it.
    Love, Tinka

  14. Hi again!

Whab I hate having to go out in the mess this morning. It's been pouring here, and I would love to stay inside in my flannel jammies and fuzzy slippers.

Tink, Joey is getting together with a friend for some hot fun, it sounds like!

Hi to Lynn D, Tinka, & Goldie.

    OK, off to work. TGIF!

Goldie, safe travels to you! Have a great day everyone.

I thought about you all evening long and I continued to think about you all last night. Needless to say that I didn't sleep much. I keep thinking that I wish I could be there with you at this time and help you in person. I know that you have friends and family there but I wish that I was there too. I hope that when you feel up to it that you will read yesterday's posts that we also left for you. Yesterday I spent a great deal of time thinking about my own Angel furbabies. When I came home last night I read all of the comments. The one that stuck out and made me really think was what Wabbear said, so thank you Wabbear. Carol thank you also. When I woke up this morning I was still thinking of Amicus and I thought it would be nice to dedicate a blog today to her and Fantine and Carol you did. We are a loving group here with such caring hearts.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh Amicus! I am so sorry! I wasn't around yesterday, so I had no idea. Believe me, I know how you feel. You will get so much love and support here - I know I did. Give yourself the time you need to cry and grieve. And check out the webside for Rainbow Bridge (I will send you the link later - I'm at work and don't have it available). It is a lifesaver (Jacny hooked me up there).

Carol, once again you have shown yourself to be compassionate and kind - thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Tinkatia
you had asked about Joey. Joey moved from SC to VA. His special friend still lives in SC and is coming this week end to visit him. Today I have to finish my yard work. David tightened the bottle to my garden hose so that I don't get sprayed again.

    ReplyDelete
  19. CAROL, that was so beautifully written. You have such a big heart...and share it with us so graciously. Thank you.

    AMICUS, I hope you can feel a little bit of the love we are sending you and maybe find a little comfort in it. The nest will be here for you, whenever you want to fly in and sit a spell. Fantine is not alone nor are you...you have us. {{{hugs}}}

    SHIRLEY, thanks for breakfast ya tart!! And thanks for the comment you sent...both times! Double the pleasure!! {{{hugs}}}

GOLDIE, have fun at the wedding, travel safe and don't cop a peek or pinch of your BIL!!

    RONNIE, good morning!

    EBJ, good morning!

    TINKA, good morning!

    WHABBY, good morning!

    LYNN, good morning!

DREAMA, good morning...stay away from the hoses!!

And if anyone posts while I have been pecking away at the keyboard...good morning!

  20. I just finished my second income tax today so I figured I needed a break. Good morning (well it's afternoon here now) to dreamatexas, east bay j, tinkatia, whabbear, canadiangirl and lynn d. Goldie have a fun weekend.

Everyone eat up before Maureen gets here. We all know how piggy she is! lol!

This is the third day I have been waiting for someone to come and fix my apartment. The chain in the toilet broke, the hot water tap drips in the tub and my hot water tank (which is under my kitchen sink...don't ask) is rusted all around the bottom and leaking.

The last shower I took lasted about four minutes. I have requested a bigger tank but I don't know if I will get it. Keep your fingers crossed. I am just waiting around to hear from someone. I need groceries but I may have to wait till tonight to get them. Enough bitching from me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh no, Maureen is in the house, quick someone hide the food!!lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. SHIRLEY, ya can't hide it from me...remember we can sniff out truffles under the ground!! I can find the waffles wherever you hide them!!!!!! So there! nenner neener neener!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Muareen you Bitch!!!lol!! You can have the waffles but you're doing the dishes! And don't get syrup on the sofa.

    ReplyDelete
  24. SYRUP????? You didnt leave any damn syrup! WHERES the syrup?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Goldie - I knew you did something to Scirish. She was trying to beat Joey's record.LOL. Have fun at the wedding.

East Bay J - Sorry you have to go out in miserable weather. That is the best bonus of retirement, staying in your pj's and slippers.
Thanks for telling me about Joey.

Dreamatexas - Thank you for giving me even more details about Joey. I have to keep my eye on him. Did you get the pet poetry sites from Bon O yesterday? They are beautiful. If you didn't, I will send them to you.

Canadian Girl - You surely know what Amicus is going through. You have had a difficult time lately. It's hard isn't it?

Maureen - You have a big heart too.

Shirley - I hope you get your apartment fixed soon. You have every right to complain.

Time for breakfast. Check in later.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Everyone keeps telling me to stay away from hoses. LOL. Keep your fingers all crossed for me because that's where I'll be this afternoon...working with hoses at high water pressure.
    TINKA
I didn't read Bon'O stories. I blogged the one about the Rainbow Bridge then Mypsace went wacky on me.

Shirley Thank you for bringing breakfast. :)

Turtle Did you see the "Owl Said" for today? :)

Amicus Keeping you in my thoughts today. (((HUGS)))

It is natural for animals to go off by themselves to find peace and solitude when it is time for them to pass. I personally think Fantine passed exactly the way she wanted to. She was being her natural self.

    ReplyDelete
  36. j/l: yes I did! Mahalo for the submission of my wacky remarks..lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. I waited awhile to see if Amicus would post something here. Since she has not had time to post yet I want to go ahead and say that I received an e-mail from her on Mypsace. I am just relieved and happy to have heard from her. My mind is now more at ease.:)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Someone give that baby a pacifier to shut it up!
    Hi kahonugrl and scirish.
Scirish I'll help you with the tax returns. I love to do them. I did some yesterday and today, now I am just waiting for the people to come get them and pay me. I only charge $25.00.

Does baby maureen need a diaper change? lol!

My plumber has arrived! Yeah!! They could have at least sent a good looking one. But I think I will get a bigger hot water tank. Yeah!!

    Later guys!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Maureen I think it's interesting that you like to dress in black but your owl is so very colorful.

  59. Good evening everyone. I have mostly been lurking. I have been battling this head & chest cold. All I want to do is lay around and groan LOL!! I ventured out to get groceries today. I knew I looked like hell, but figured I wouldn't run into anyone I knew...wrong! I'm sure they were thinking that Mr Mary's wife was not long for this world lol!! I am feeling better though. It was good to get out. My feathered friends were low on food too.
Amicus, you were in my thoughts all day. Hugs & much love to you!

I heard Tina has got the flue bug! Hard to believe anything can slow that stinker down! Get better girl!

    IBB~ Are you any better?

    Carol, great post.

Anyone else who has been sick of body or soul, take good care of yourselves! We need our nesters back together healthy and happy.

  71. Hello Owls,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your kind words of comfort, concern, and sympathy. Please forgive me for the long post, but I want to thank each of you individually for being here for me during this sad time.

  76. Good Evening Owls. I have been busy today getting my hair coloured back to what God gave me in the first place. I was blond for 8 years before it darkened so I feel it is my God given right to change it back to that colour. I refuse to live with white hair. As Zona said yesterday, that is the absence of colour.
Then I bought a new DVD player. Mine quit last night and I can't get to sleep without a movie playing. If I fall asleep to a video tape I wake up when it rewinds.

Maureen - I dropped in for chicken breasts and baked fries. Sounds good. I may even have dessert and weigh in next week instead of tomorrow.

Scirish - I wish I could send you our spring days. They are lovely.

Canadian Girl - Amicus has that link. She and I have discussed it before. She will be writing everyone soon. It's hard to lose a loved one isn't it?

Tina, Mary and IBB - Get well soon.

I must give my babies some attention. They were alone for 3 hours today so they are not happy with me. Usually if I am gone more than 2 hours I get them a doggy sitter. They did get their walk however and now I will brush them. If I am not back tonight, have a great one.

  77. Mary/mi it was Yua Man(sp). I was surprised, but if left in the game he might have gone far.

  78. Good Evening all my Lovely Owlsettes!!! ( I don't see any Owls yet, or am I missing something?) Oops, just saw Bears comment!

Today has been another miserable day of bronchitis, pneuomia etc for both Laurie and myself.

Lynn, darling, you were SOOO RIGHT! This stuff sticks to you like super glue and doesn't want to let go.

I feel just a tad better to write a bit on both blogs. ( must be the many drugs I am on!) Oh, I meant to say PRESCRIPTION drugs, but if there is anything else out there that any one knows about, let me know ok?!!! Just kidding. (really!!!)

Amicus, I so understand your loss. When CG lost Checkers, I wrote about my losing my Romeo, and I think we all have stories of our lost, loved, but never forgotten loved ones. We are all folding our wings around you in comfort. Carol wrote such a beautiful and loving memory to Fantine.

I love it when Turtle refers to it as being "chilly" at 58 degrees!!!!

Well, I am sure it is when you normally wake up to 75 degree weather!!! Seriously, darlin' I hope you are feeling better. This awful crud is everywhere!

I would certainly love some warm weather here so Laurie and myself can "dry out" and get some good old natural vitamin D!!! Not going to happen.

EBJ, Lin and others be prepared for another onslaught! Rain predicted for the whole weekend, and both Miss Laurie and I just cannot get rid of this awful crap!

Miss MO, your "linner" sounded more like a Luau than dinner and I would be there in a minute if I could!

I have had fried plaintains and they are delicious!
Oh, and I know who the Text Message Killer is!!!

"only because my Soap Opera Digest Magazine arrived today!" And I must tell you I am DISAPPOINTED!

I thought the creepy counter guy at Kelly's was the killer, and NO he isn't.

    Should I tell you???

I will keep it a secret until you beg to know!!!!

Wish I could eat Mo's lovely Luau dinner, but, its still chicken soup and crackers for us.

Till later, Donna and Miss Laurie!

  79. Amicus - You and I must have been writing at the same time. Get lots of sleep this weekend. Be kind to yourself. I will let you rest and will wait for you to write me. You know that you and Fantine will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you. Tinka

  82. Good Evening Owls,

Oh boy did I have a busy day, so many clients stranded by the snow storm here in the east, EWR had a 8hr delay with most flights canceled. My brain is dust!

    amicus

I am so sorry you and Miss Laurie cannot shake the awful illness out of your bodies. Get plenty of rest as that always seems to help me

    I think of you often!

I saw that awful post on Rossland I am very glad you addressed it, I was hoping you would! What is up with people using that word as some kind of "jest". I irks me to no end!

  84. lynnd
I was actually hoping somebody would take the wotd, and give it to amicus!

    We were thinking same!

    Great wording....

  86. Oh, I had notes written down and so totally forgot to look at them!

~~Miss Shirley~~ Hope you are feeling better after the wonderful Bloody Mary's! I missed your comments for a day or so and was a bit concerned! So very glad to see you again!

I must confess, though, I too had several too many that day also!

(Who the heck started that day with Mimosas and Bloody Mary's anyway??)

Well, I had an excuse. The V8 has LOTS of vegetables and anti-oxidents, the extra lemon juice I added was a plus, the celery and fresh green bean just added more vegetables, and the vodka should have helped my awful coughing spell, right??? That's MY STORY and I DARE any one to refute it!!!

    Love you all, Donna

  87. Oh Carol, YES, that word is just SO INAPPROPRIATE!

Today, on The View, they were discussing the "N" word, and I thought to myself, what the hell is the difference between the "N" word and the "R" word. People use both every day in their dialogue.

Well, in context, there is alot of difference.

Retard can mean alot of things.

The "New World Dictionary of The American Language" (which I refer to almost every day to make sure I am using correct words) says regarding the word "retard": "to hinder, delay,or slow the advance or progress" It NEVER refers to humans.

I remeber my husband, who was a mechanic at heart, mentioning a motor or something like that "retarding". Now, you must remember, his own precious daughter was Down Syndrome.

He only used that term defining a motor part!

My point was refering to the fact that too many (mostly young people) love to use that word regarding anything that is not happening right now, or up to their standard!

And this must be eradicated from their everyday language. I hear it all the time. When I am shopping, when I am at the movies, you name it.

I have emailed Whoopie on The View to also let her know my feelings on the "R" word.

I doubt that my one email will "change" the world, but at least I am exercising my right to state my belief!!!

Thanks again, my lovely friend for your support, Donna

  88. Shirley~ Nuts! I loved his cute little bod!!

Tinka~ I added you on my space. I added you several months ago, but never heard from you. Hope it goes through this time.

Donnajean~ I hate that you and Laurie are still fighting the nasties! I wish there was a magic pill to take it all away! I used nyquil, juices, vicks rubs and lots & lots of sleep/rest! The cold damp weather has a lot of people down! The news tonight said that every state but Florida had cases of the flue.

  89. Thank you Carol. You brought a tear to my eye.

Donna Jean, it was all IBB's fault!lol! She kept giving me jugs of mimosas. It took a couple days to recover. But I'm good now. I hope you and Laurie get better soon. Here are some (((((HUGS))))) for you both.

I agree it is mostly young people, so one must think they were never told by a elder how inappropriate the R word really is.

    shirley
I meant every word! I am passing you a tissue, as it has been that kind of day!
