Looks like I'm the only one here so far. The video was a nice way to start the day. I wasn't able to sleep well, though and I will probably try to go back to bed. Catch you all later.
MEK: How awful about making you wait all day for your sofa..and then it not even being in stock. Can you tell me the name of the store..or is it local to where you are? We are looking to get new sofas and I don't want to go there. And you can tell them that too. Unless they fix everything and give you a big discount, they've lost another customer!!
It was 94 here yesterday..gonna be 96 today and 98 tomorrow. They keep talking like 100 is such a big milestone. I hate how the weather people get so excited over it. When it's hot..it's hot..98, 99 or 100.

Cpgem!! thanks for sharing with all of us about your dad... I will continue to have positive thoughts and prayers.. Hi there.... Tink told me what the blogspot address was... This is Amy in WI form the rossblog and I thought it was time to finally become a "night owl" :)
Carol I hope everything goes well for your Dad.It always seems to be one thing or another as our parents get older. A colonoscopy is no fun that's for sure. The good news is the word benign. I have stomach polyps but mine are benign so the surgeon said it's best to just leave mine alone.I have to have a scope stuck down my throat and look into my stomach to monitor them. It's no big deal because they put me out but my voice feels like a sore throat afterwards for a few days. My sister gets a colonoscopy since one of our twin cousins died from colon cancer and she looks like their triplet. Our cousin who passed was named Donna Jean so you can imagine the first time I saw a post by "our" Donna Jean here. I was always drawn to her posts.
hello all, thanks for the comments. Iteach, I don't know if you recognize my name from My space... actually to all of you on here... I am at www.myspace.com/familyof4butamyisqueen
Hi Amy I am bad with names. I knew there was an Amy P. I'm always multitasking and I have been told by my boss that I should learn names better. :0) Either way Amy welcome.

HOT afternoon everyone! It's 93 degrees here...and 80 in the house. I think Mother Nature will win this round and the a/c may go on tomorrow!
MEK: Nothing worse than those winds when it's hot. Feels like you stuck your face in the oven! My Grandma was visiting from Ohio once during monsoon season. She watched at about 8pm one evening as the trees swayed in the breeze, and decided it would be a wonderful time to step outside and get 'some air'. She opened the arcadia door and screeched "What the hell kind of breeze is THAT??" My mom said, "Exactly like it came straight from there..." ;)
ITEACH: There are lots more {{hugs}} where that one came from!! :)
WELCOME AMY!!

Good thoughts to you and your Dad, CPGEM! And good thoughts to Tink today too!
Just landing in the nest for a quick hello before I take a bath and fall into bed, so that I may begin yet another day of house rehab!
The people that designed popcorn ceilings should be shot..but after about 4 coats of ceiling paint, which did NOT make it look good..I finally found a solution...OIL based Kilz!!!! We have finally started painting actual walls...after replastering the hell out of them of course. Then when you get the paint on...lo and behold... there are places we missed plastering. Today I spend the day with a can of Oops taking the paint off of the few replacement windows that were all ready there. What kind of painter doesn't know about tape??? I just figured maybe he was good enough that he didn't need it...ummm...no! Then when I told him to use tape...he put it on the only non-popcorn ceiling there was, which he had painted an HOUR ago...needless to say when he pulled it off, he pulled BOTH coats of new paint off. ARRRRRG! Then he gets mad at ME, saying I told him to use it. I hope everyone is well and happy....I have not had time to read the comments....I barely have time to check my mail...but I miss you guys..I could use a large dose of that patience Carol was blogging about the other day!! I told the painter mentioned above that if he messed with me I was going to rip his face off...He was a bit stunned..
Carol....are Donna jean and Laurie ok? I am soo out of the loop...I'm guessing your Dad is going for a Colon thingy that I can't spell...best wishes to him
I have soooo much more to tell you guys...short version: My honey/sig other of 15 yrs is going to be moving in with me...he has wanted to for yrs, but I liked the way things are/were...so a vast amount of nervousness is going on about that. I have lived by myself for quite a while...I hope this works out and doesn't wreak a great relationship! I have nervousness about my Mom moving next door as well. BUT the good news is all this activity with the house has somehow helped my back a bit. I cannot sit and watch people do stuff and do nothing, even though I'm the "supervisor" so I've been doing a lot of things that I would not normally do. My back hurts like hell at the end of the day, but if someone told me that I could stand and scrape all day I would have thought that they had lost their minds. I still can't vacumn and mop without pure agony...but I can do THINGS!!! What a great boost that has been...
Love and miss you all...and thanks to those who have sent Myspace messages, they are appreciated very much.
iteach and carol...thanks I will need bucket loads....It is so hard when we have a tight deadline...to have the time taken up by someones silly mistake. I know I make them too...but the guy who is supposed to know how to paint starts painting a door with CEILING paint??? Yes, it is white, but the woodwork is ANTIQUE white...now I have to do the whole door in the ceiling paint because the coverage is different and then paint it again with the antique white...another arrrrg
Wanted to let Donna Jean know I looked at your pics. You two are beautiful! Sorry to hear Laurie has to go through surgery. I'll keep her in my thoughts and Prayers.
Amy!! Hi! Nice to see you!
Carol, Good thoughts and Prayers for your dad too! Glad to hear it is benign.
You know what's beautifully odd about all this? I have ripped parts of walls out with a scraper, spackled the very same walls and even done some initial sanding with the power sander...things that I never thought I would EVER do again....and I am sooo freakin happy about it...I still can't paint (and I am a damn good painter) something about the motion of it...but to able to do the things I did do...I can't tell you how good that feels! I'm very tired and need my bath and nyquil..(how the hell did I get a freaking cold NOW? when I managed to stay sorta healthy all winter?)
Zona....I can give you details on how to paint the popcorn ceilings!!!! (and how NOT to) just let me know when...
Must be time for bed...the nyquil is kickin....
I just ruined 3 days of not smoking...some of my friends are on that drug that begins with a C and can cause sleep problems..I'm afraid to try it because of that....but it is way hard to stick to WW and not smoke...I get the nibble urge when I can't have the ciggys... I was doing well with quiting until Jesse got sick...maybe that was stress or an excuse...but I keep trying...anyone have any suggestions? Ya can't replace the ciggys with carrot sticks...they don't light well :-)
ibb....I thought about the paint sprayer after all the crap of course...my luck tho they would spray the whole house....the oil based stuff seems to get it...wish it was the first thing I tried! BTW...I loved your blog!
scirish-- when I quit smoking ..it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life!!! I did it cold turkey... but it was at christmas time.. well new years day.. and christmas cookies everywhere.. I gained 50 pounds.. and it is still here 9 years later... but I am snoke free... yea!!!!!!!!9years 3months 27 days!!
iteach...can you paint? lol... your room is ready! But from what I read before, you are on the right track. I LOVE the WW cookbooks...great stuff that you can feed everyone in the family. I made a super crockpot thingy from WW for all the worker bees and no one guessed it was WW...in fact I have been asked to serve it again
ibb...I know what you mean! I find it sooo hard to do both. It feels like I have to choose, but i want skinny and not attached to a ciggy...to much to ask i suppose. Truthfully, I'll take losing weight first!
justlin...the commit things got me thru 3 days....but i lost it...gotta try again. It's odd cuz i don't smoke much, but when i wanna....sticking that thing in the side of my mouth just doesn't seem to do it. i think i would do better with the fake ciggys. the ones with decreasing nicotine. you still have the thing in your hand until it means nothing. problem is...i don't think they make them any more. half the problem is what to do with you hands once you quit.
I really am going to bed now....thanks for all the suggestions and support...i really need to quit..all my colds end up with me coughing up a lung..but it is sooo hard to do
Good evening! I'm just doing a fly-by before heading for bed.I was going to take it easy this week end but once I start a project I hate to quit. Aside from painting and laying down a new hardwood floor, the closet was the worst! Where did all the stuff come from LOL! It is our spare bedroom. We are expecting my niece who just graduated from college. She will be staying with us until she get situated in a new job. Carol~ I loved the video! I'm going to play it again just before I go to bed.It will send me off to la la land~~~ You Dad will be in my prayers tonight. {{hugs}} to the both of you.
MEK~ Please send some degrees up here! I had to get my electric blanket out! LMAO at your mom's handicapper parking spot pain!!
Scirish~ If you think popcorn ceilings are bad you should see what our previous owners did in our basement. They made the ceilings with plaster peaks! Some are over an inch long! The ceilings look like an upside down lemon meringue pie. It is a favorite playground for spider webs!
Quck night fly-by: SCIRISH: Would you mind posting your WW crockpot recipe on the recipe page?
CAROL: I hope your dad will be okay and wverything will work out fine for him.
MEK AND ZONA: It snowed here yesterday morning and today it is beautiful. We are at the open window during the day stage.
TINA; I miss you and will be glad when you are posting again!
DONNA JEAN: Very nice pictures of you and Laurie. When I first clicked on them, I saw the first picture and thought it was you with that red hair..then realized it was Wynonna!

Amy - Welcome aboard!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy! Wecome to the nest!
ReplyDeleteThat should have been "welcome" not "wecome". Sorry. Has anyone else not been able to view the video but me?
ReplyDeleteThanks for wishing me luck, iteach, MEK, and Zona! :)
ReplyDeleteI lost 6-4 in the third. :( :(
Time to drown my sorrows. Now, where should I do that?
Carol
ReplyDeleteI hope everything goes well for your Dad.It always seems to be one thing or another as our parents get older.
Okay, time to get ready for my early dinner date.
ReplyDeleteWabbear

ReplyDeleteMEK: Nothing worse than those winds when it's hot.

ReplyDeleteI agree I don't think Hannah "Monatone" can sign either!
The kids all love her tho!
My little cousin goes nuts over her.
Everyone:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good thoughts for my Dad!
He has pooped all day, he is very clean indeed!
Just landing in the nest for a quick hello before I take a bath and fall into bed, so that I may begin yet another day of house rehab!
ReplyDeleteThe people that designed popcorn ceilings should be shot..but after about 4 coats of ceiling paint, which did NOT make it look good..I finally found a solution...OIL based Kilz!!!!
I have posted new pics of Donna Jean and Laurie Elizabeth on my myspace page.
ReplyDeleteI will send Donna Jean all your comments!
Scirish:
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are up and about! Popcorn ceilings are the worst, so funny who invented them...lol...
Good Luck on the renovations!
I am sending you a bucket load of patience!
:O)
Carol....are Donna jean and Laurie ok? I am soo out of the loop...I'm guessing your Dad is going for a Colon thingy that I can't spell...best wishes to him
ReplyDeletescirish:
ReplyDeleteYes, Donna Jean and Laurie are ok.
I am not sure when Laurie's surgery is scheduled for, Donna Jean said that she will keep us posted..
Scirish, here is also another big dose of patients for you! :)
ReplyDeleteWhew...I thought maybe something had happened...
ReplyDeleteI have soooo much more to tell you guys...short version: My honey/sig other of 15 yrs is going to be moving in with me...he has wanted to for yrs, but I liked the way things are/were...so a vast amount of nervousness is going on about that.
Love and miss you all...and thanks to those who have sent Myspace messages, they are appreciated very much.
duh...WRECK....my fingers are gluey?? that's my story...
ReplyDeleteiteach and carol...thanks I will need bucket loads....It is so hard when we have a tight deadline...to have the time taken up by someones silly mistake.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say HI!
ReplyDeleteWanted to let Donna Jean know I looked at your pics.
You two are beautiful!
Sorry to hear Laurie has to go through surgery. I'll keep her in my thoughts and Prayers.
Amy!! Hi! Nice to see you!
Carol, Good thoughts and Prayers for your dad too! Glad to hear it is benign.
Have a good night Everyone!
♥
You know what's beautifully odd about all this? I have ripped parts of walls out with a scraper, spackled the very same walls and even done some initial sanding with the power sander...things that I never thought I would EVER do again....and I am sooo freakin happy about it...I still can't paint (and I am a damn good painter) something about the motion of it...but to able to do the things I did do...I can't tell you how good that feels! I'm very tired and need my bath and nyquil..(how the hell did I get a freaking cold NOW? when I managed to stay sorta healthy all winter?)
ReplyDeleteSCIRISH: We have those stupid popcorn ceilings and they need painting badly...I can't even begin to figure out how to do it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your back is feeling a little better..hope this is the beginning of many, many good days!!
VIG: LOL!! You would be very proud of me..I had a salad for dinner when I really wanted a salami sandwich!!
Zona- I love salami with tons of pickles!
ReplyDeleteITEACH: TINA likes it with cream cheese..you with pickles..dang who knew there was more than just on white bread?? BTW...dill or sweet?? ;)
ReplyDeleteDILL-YUMMM
ReplyDeleteAmicus:
ReplyDeleteI just now saw your post from this morning!
I saw Jersey Boys on broadway the very first month it opened, Which means I saw it with the original cast!
It was Fantastic. You are going to love it!
All the actors were terrific, and their voices were just like the "Four Seasons"
You are going to be singing those songs for weeks.
I did :O)
Good Night owls!!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by to say hey!!!
Work was busy tonight...
Scirish-- great to see you.. glad you are doing things... It is amazing what we really can do... Feels good..
Carol-- HUGS.. and positive thoughts for you and your dad!!
Zona- Scirish..
To paint those ceilings.. Rent a paint sprayer.. it will take no time at all..
Iteach... one of friends has 11 yr old twins... and it is Hannah this and that.. she tried to get tickets when she(HM) was in DC..
I don't get it either...
Hope everyone has a great night...
Off to bed..
Zona....I can give you details on how to paint the popcorn ceilings!!!! (and how NOT to) just let me know when...
ReplyDeleteMust be time for bed...the nyquil is kickin....
Ya can't replace the ciggys with carrot sticks...they don't light well :-)
btw 12 lbs lost on ww.....wooot!
ReplyDeletelol about the carrot sticks
ReplyDeleteway to go with the weight loss-I'm moving in with you, so you can help me.
ReplyDeleteibb....I thought about the paint sprayer after all the crap of course...my luck tho they would spray the whole house....the oil based stuff seems to get it...wish it was the first thing I tried! BTW...I loved your blog!
ReplyDeleteNight all...very sleepy
scirish--
ReplyDeletewhen I quit smoking ..it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life!!!
I did it cold turkey...
but it was at christmas time.. well new years day.. and christmas cookies everywhere.. I gained 50 pounds.. and it is still here 9 years later...
but I am snoke free...
yea!!!!!!!!9years 3months 27 days!!
Zona--Is BB on there yet... do you want a spoiler??
ReplyDeleteScirish It's been 2 hrs and 1 month for me. I used nicotine lozenges. Really helped me alot. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteOkay, gotta run again.
Scirish.. my point was .. I am not the one to ask about weight LOSS and quiting smoking!!
ReplyDelete149
ReplyDelete150
ReplyDeleteiteach...can you paint? lol...
ReplyDeleteyour room is ready!
ReplyDeletejustlin...the commit things got me thru 3 days....but i lost it...gotta try again.
I really am going to bed now....thanks for all the suggestions and support...i really need to quit..all my colds end up with me coughing up a lung..but it is sooo hard to do
love you guys!
Zona - my mom is about to fold also and have us turn on HER ac - I had to chuckle when I just got her email!!
ReplyDeleteVIG - great Happy Dance!!
Scirish and Birdie - good to see you both!!
cpgem - thanks again for bringing smiles to us all!!
I hope everyone has an excellent Monday!! :-)
Good Night!!
Good evening! I'm just doing a fly-by before heading for bed.I was going to
ReplyDeletetake it easy this week end but once I start a project I hate to quit.
ReplyDeleteCAROL: I hope your dad will be okay and wverything will work out fine for him.
