  2. Well...between the video, Eunice's graduation picture, ITEACH's QOTD...and the beautiful smiling face of MO...my day is beginning in a wonderful way!!

    Good Morning MO!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. ZONA...awwwww, you are so sweet! I just got up and I certainly am not a sight for sore eyes!! I fell asleep last night without removing my eye make-up, so I look like a very scary racoon!! And I got caught in a rainstorm last night, so my hair looks like a weapon of mass destruction!

How are you? How dang hot is it supposed to be today?

    ReplyDelete
  4. MO: LOL! You have not seen rainhair until you've seen mine, can we just say super frizz?? Oh, it's bad! ;)

It's supposed to be 114 here today..and it's 91 right now. I will be hibernating in my dark room with fans whirling until the sun starts to go down and I can swim!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. ZONA...I couldn't handle that heat. I would hibernate the entire summer away!

  6. Morning Glories!

Zona is here and she got first!!! Wahoo!

    Hi Mo nice hairdo! LOL

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEK AND MR. MEK!!!

Ok I guess I have not had enough coffee yet this morning as Julie is getting on my nerves. She sounds like the happy birds that woke me up this morning.

Have I said I wake up slowly before I can hit happy singing or humming? LOL

Maureen got second. Wow you are up early too.

Good Morning Mo and Lynn - The birds woke you too.

Have some coffee so you can happy dance today!

BTW, do you wanna be Lucy to my Ethel or vice-versa! (read towards the end of area 51!!!)

deer, a female deer" but I mustn't play it until Marie wakes up because she got back from Tofino after midnight. I haven't spoken to yet but I got a few text messages saying she loved Long Beach.

Shirley I will grab some breaky after I slug down Mo's bloody Mary's! Thanks

Good Morning Tinka yes the birds woke me up singing and then the pigeons made sure I was up by having races on the roof outside my window. Well I think they were races it could be wrestling or any number of things!

  26. Back again. I hope you are all still here. It's going to hit 75 today hopefully. They keep promising but it's nice one day and cloudy and chilly the next. Last night Marie had to walk home from the bus stop and the wind was howling like winter. I am eager to ask her about it. I hope she had a good time because that two days and one night cost her a fortune. $300 for one night to sit and look at the ocean is ridiculous but they get the tourists especially ones from Japan.

Shirley, I love breakfast for dinner! So, I'll be in the frig later for yours! ;o)

My MS was acting wonky at first too, but it seems fine now. I'm not really liking the changes they did though.

  35. EBJ, Hi! Sorry I didn't see you there!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good Morning Birdee - I am used to the changes on myspace too. The only thing I don't like is the fact that once I type in the first letter (when I sign in) everything is immediately typed in including my password. That means anyone can log in to myspace. My name always showed up after my first letter but never my password. I haven't even clicked on 'remember me' and my password goes on automatically. I don't like that.

  54. Hey gang I was checking out some of the new photos that some of you have posted and noticed a new links to the photo's box.

I know I am dense but does that mean anyone can take your pic and do whatever with it? Just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  55. LYNN...my stomach and thighs do that simply by walking!!!

I have my agenda set for today...do nothing, take a nap, do more nothing, take another nap, do even more nothing and then nap again.

    see y'all later

    ReplyDelete
  56. LynnD, Here's a explanation from Mr. Birdee about the photo link.

That doesnt let anyone copy the picture and edit it. It just is a link to the picture in case you want to put the link on another web page. In other words, if you want Birdee to see a picture, you copy and paste the link to her, and then she can click on the link to see it.She can only see it if she is allowed access to that persons page.

    Does that make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks Birdee yes that makes sense to me!

Mo: Sounds like a perfect day to me!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Good Mornin' Hooters, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE MEKS!

I actually like the new dropdowns in MS. I hate that they stuck the paid advertising in between photos and the photo comments. Like Lynn, I'm not fond of the photo links, but I assume if you have your photo albums set to 'Friends Only' (and trust your friends) you're fairly safe.

Zona~~1st!! The high today is only to be 75* here, too...but it's 58* right now. You'd definitely need a parka over your swim suit!

Started the day where I ended last night, with a Virgin Bloody Mary. (Geesh, I accidentally transposed the 'V' and 'B' part of that typing it just now...that would have just been SO very wrong!)

    ReplyDelete

    Good Morning!!!

Cpgem - thank you for the video - I triple LOVE "The Sound of Music" - I think one of the most fun nights in the nest was when we were ALL watching it at the same time in our different time zones!! Thanks again...

Zona - congrats on first!! and MO on second - who's on third!! LOL

Need to go catch up on the comments - have read the "night owls' - and just to correct the record - it was the RED pasta from Pizza Hut that made me sick!!

    be back in a minute...

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!

Ya'll have been busy for a Sunday a.m.!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Good morning, First Lady Zona and the owlettes!

'weenie: Sorry about that pesky one minute, but don't beat yourself up too much. When it's over 90 in the desert, Zona's typing fingers vibrate a little faster.

Carol: We were at a friend's place for dinner last night, and Rogers and Hammerstein featured prominently on his background music playlist. I actually heard an R&H composition that I hadn't before... a song that was dropped from South Pacific and added to another musical who's name escapes me for the moment. And, I heard that the Broadway revival of SP won 7 Tony awards last week.

    R&H live !!

Mr. Mek is out working in the yard - I offered to actually make a REAL breakfast and he declined - (thank Goodness!! LOL) - hope I don't have to fix dinner!! HA HA..

LynnD I'm not having trouble with MS exactly but it does take a little longer to download all the movie ad crap, which I resent. Maybe your movie video program or video card need to be updated. Just a thought.

Shirley Thanks for making brunch. I'll be snacking on that later.

Carol Thank you for the blog today. Sorry folks, I am not a Sound of Music fan.

Whabby South Pacific is one of my all time favorites. I also love Porgy & Bess and Evita.

  69. Good day Owls. Wishing you all a spectacular Sunday!

Happy anniversary to the MEKs! Have a great special day!

Carol..it was fabulous to start the day with such a perky and happy song. Thank you so much! Gotta love TSOM. And it was fitting for today what with my new favourite show on tonight. There is an excellent reality show in Canada that just started last week, called "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria". Andrew Lloyd Webber and several other judges are picking someone to play Maria in a big Broadway style production. They are down to the top 10 and they are all really good. Are any Canadian Owls watching this show....it is on the CBC at 8pm. And tonight is the first night the viewers at home get to vote. Very cool!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I knew it! I closed MS and now I can't login again!

MEK was going to leave you a lovely anniversay comment, but thanks to MS I may not get back in.

J/L I would think that too except I am not having any problems loading other websites including You tube.

  72. Happy Sunday, Owls!

    MEK: Happy Anniversary!!!

Whabby: Was it one of these songs?...

"Loneliness of Evening" - used in 1965 production of Cinderella.

"My Girl Back Home" - reinstated for current SP Broadway revival.

"Now Is the Time" - reinstated for 2002 SP London revival.

"Will You Marry Me?" - used in 1955 musical, Pipe Dream.

"Suddenly Lovely" - melody used in "Getting To Know You" from The King and I.

I'm getting ready to leave for a BBQ, and then, I'm seeing "Sex and the City" tonight, but I'll check in again when I get home.

    Have a fantastic day, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Amicus: I think it was indeed "Loneliness of Evening"! Thanks!

From A51: All who love bloody marys with V8 juice: I like them too, and always use the low sodium V8 that's available now. And I like them really hot, so in addition to tabasco sauce, I stir in creamed horse radish!

    Yum!

MEK: It should be a good Sunday, except that I'm going through Tiger withdrawal here... I don't even care about what's happening at this weeks PGA event. How bad is that?

Bon'O: A road trip by PNW Owls to the BABB? How much fun would that be! BarbWA, what say you? Lynn D?
And... FYI... MomRoss asked me whether there was going to be another one this year, and I told her about it and the date, but it looks like it will be too close to the beginning of the school year for her.

J/L: "You have to be carefully taught"! LOL!

Bon'O: Don't go all squirrely on us!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Bear~~lol @ 'going squirrely'.

Can you say "Road Trip" to the BABB? If not this year, we should start planning early for '09!

I, too, used to use horseradish, until I discovered using squirts of Rooster Sauce instead of Tabasco. So flavorful and you can clear your sinuses very easily!

and btw, "You've Got To Be Taught" is in my fave-five songs ever.

LynnD~Can you get to a point with MS to choose 'Classic View' instead of the newer version? Tom mentioned in a Bulletin once that, if you have trouble logging in, to try that. Just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Whabby Just a couple of weeks ago, my boss and I were talking about that song and actually started singing it! LOL

  76. I expected my visitor to sleep in this morning but she was actually up at eight and was off to a tour of the Empress. She has so much more stamina than she did on her last visit. I took advantage of her being out of the house and had my afternoon nap this morning. As soon as she gets home, Brian and I are taking her to see Butchart's Gardens. She has been there before but it is a must for Japanese visitors.

Good Afternoon to those of you arrived after me this morning.
Whabbear (I can't miss him), VIG - I got your message this morning.
    Shout out to Bonnie, Iteach,
Birdee - I am not sure where we spoke (I can't find it) but I think we did this morning. and Just_Lin. See you all this afternoon.

Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days. Major virus on my computer, so I had to wipe the hard drive......ughhhhh!!! I think it had to do with my daughter downloading music from Limewire AND I think Tom forgot to do something with security with his "user friendly" updates!!

    ZONA - Congrats on first!!!

    SHIRLEY - Congrats on 100!!!

CAROL - What a great day to start my day......TSOM.....definitely a fav of mine!!! It just makes me smile :D

The ones close to me are out, but I think there is another one in the Bay Area and a new one in Napa, which isn't too far from DonnaJena.

Carol: I admire your loyalty and devotion to your family. Going to an AA meeting with a family member is quite an experience. I had a cousin with the same problem and I attended his first meeting with him. He had hit bottom and was very committed to getting sober and is doing very well at the moment. I also attended an Al-Anon meeting with his mother and that was very interesting. She still attends meetings. So, multi-kudos to you.

    Splitting my post.

  90. Carol: Thanks so much for posting TSOM video. It's so much fun to watch and now the song will be in my head all night.

Zona: Congrats on #1. Last year we had a couple of days at 112 and I thought I was going to melt...I can't imagine 114.

Birdee: are you still running from roosters? Maybe you can buy a feather wig.

Bon'O: So you are having your very own orgy...how interesting. Maybe you should make a porn movie and put it on you tube.

MEK: Happy Anniversary to you and Mr. MEK. I hope you are having a nice day/evening.

Mo: LMAO @ your graduating magna soooey laude from the sty. Have you made it back to any of the reunions?

  91. Hi All! Katie and I are going to be gone for the next two days. We are going with my parents to the Amana Colonies in Iowa. We're leaving tomorrow and will be back late on Tuesday.

Talk to everyone later. (I have to get packed and clean)!

  93. I am so tired the only intelligent thing I can do it count. We had a lovely day at Butchart's but I am ready for bed. There was a time when we would stay all day until the night lighting came on. Those days are gone for me I think. That's a lot of walking. My girl just loved it however. There must have been 2 thousand Japanese tourists while we were there. Everyone of them taking so many pictures. I love to see their enthusiasm.
I will see you all in the morning. Have fun tonight. Stay safe. Love, Tinka

  94. Good night Tink. I was at the gardens once, with my second husband. They were beautiful. It was on a tour though, and we didn't have nearly enough time to really take it all in. And, yes, it is alot of walking.
