Fined for Fumes.....

New Jersey Turnpike

we took a ride yesterday, about 1 1/2 hrs from
were i live, a friend of mine had
a job to do, so i took the ride with him

it was a beautiful day to do so, NJ has
very pretty landscaping along our highways
we were listening to the "Jersey Boys" cd
as it is one of our favorite cd's
i am really not one for long rides, however
it was quite enjoyable

well somewhat!

it seems i need several bathroom breaks
not really sure why, however we can stop
5 times in five hrs, i just look over at him
and he knows, "next food stop" and i say "yes"

what i get a kick out of is, it does not seem
to faze him in the least, he just laughs it
off!

next comes, from me "i am hungry"
he says "next food stop" and i say
"well it depends on what they have"
as i am picky, not just one fast food place
will do, it has to be somewhat "healthy"

we pass a couple and then i see "roy rogers"
"thats it, thats it, roast beef" so we pull in

oh my goodness masses of people are all
over the place, the gas line was so long i
stared in disbelief, inside was no better
lines, lines, line, everywhere! i froze!
crowds, lines, unknowns, throw me off

he steers me to the "roy rogers"
i see no roast beef, i am about to panic
when he says "they are probably making
the roast beef" oh thank goodness....

he was right, we took our roast beef sandwiches
and found a table to sit at! hmmm..is this
roast beef? i was really not sure, however so
hungry i was, i just ate it!

the crowds grew larger, and i wanted out,
we left, and as i was walking out and looking back
it occurred to me that these people do this all
the time, driving all over, stopping on the turnpike
standing in lines, waiting, waiting, waiting....

and gas, expensive? people not on the roads?
well what is that all about, the gas line was a mile
long!!!!

when we finally pulled out, i noticed a sign
"no idling allowed, fine $250.00"
what the heck does that mean, i ask
"fumes he says" fumes? "we have been
breathing in everyone's germs and they
are worried about fumes!!!!"

btw! where the heck is my
antibacterial gel!

New Jersey is a great state, expensive as it is
i would choose to live no where else!

but geez, this state needs to get their
priorities in order! Fined for Fumes?

the things you learn on the road......

  3. What a "fine" (not fumey) Monday morning! Howdy TweedleLynnD!! Why are we Westies always the first to show up here?

Interesting story, Carol. I share your dislike of long lines and traffic. Sometimes I think that's all that keeps me from moving back "home".

Iteach~~G'morning~~So happy you're finally on vacay and feeling better!

June...how did it get here so quickly? Let's enjoy these long days while we can. Have a great week owlies!!

  4. Good morning LYNN D, ITEACH & BON!!!

wtc.....couldn't get in here at first, some google error.....oh, well...all seems to be well for now.

One of the things we enjoyed as a family was going for "drives". Well I can tell you.....not many extra "drives" going on this summer. Although, from the looks of it, some of my customers are not in the least bit taken aback by the higher gas prices. Good grief.....$150.00 or more to fill up the big SUV and another $75.00 to fill up the big honkin' boat they're pulling. Things to make you go hmmmmmmmmmm......I'm thinking they must have everything they owm mortgaged to the hilt.

  6. Morning Glories!

The server Trolls seem to be out and about today! I could not get back in!

Carol while I share your frustration, I would rather take my chances with the germs than the fumes.

Our state is very strict on vehicle emissions and I feel rightly so. We have a system in the bigger cities that you have to have your car emission tested by the state (yes you even have to pay to have this done) if you do not pass the emission test, you then have to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic to determine what is wrong with your car. Then you must have it repaired and take the test again. If you don't do this you are fined heavily and won't receive your renewal tabs.

This is mainly in congested areas. We live ruraly and do not have this process as we don't, yet, have the traffic problems.

This is really one of my soapbox issues! People get out of your cars and ride share, take a bus, or train ride your bike etc...

I think we all know that pollution is contributing greatly to global warming. This is one way your state is trying to deal with it.

I have been stuck in Seattle traffic on those multi lane highways and often wondered how much carbon dioxide and other fun things we were sucking in just sitting there. Yuck!

I really would like to see a study done about lung cancer numbers (by city) of people who have never smoked. Could it be they are commuters who are exposed daily?

One of those thing that make me go hmmmmm?

Lastly I think most people are staying close to home for vacations because of gas prices and you will see alot of traffic because of this. I know that they are predicting this in our state.

Hi Bon and Iteach!! Lets see if this will post.

  7. Good morning!

The picture of the NJ Turnpike reminds me of LA during rush hour (which is a good part of the day it seems).

The Bay Area is not much better.

I have never seen a sign that will fine you for fumes, however.

Congrats to Lynn for being first!

Hi iteach (are you feeling better?), Bono, Jodi!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey Jodi!

We both are going Hmmmmm this morning! LOL

  9. Hi Ebj and anyone else who breaks through the server errors!

  10. LYNN D - Congrats on first!!!

Good morning to EAST BAY J!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. LYNN D - Does that mean we are twin hummers?!!? :P

  12. Blogger is wacky this morning! I could not get in here!

    Good Morning:
    Lynnd and Congrats on First

iteach,bon,jodi,ebj...and anyone else that posts after me!

  13. Lynn D:
I understand the point of breathing in fumes, but $250.00 is way to much as a fine.

The germs in this highway stop was beyond what I have ever seen. The salad bar that was set up, looked so old, and the food was just "slop".

So if they want to worry about fumes then fine.

However get the board to health in there, and clean up the place!

I can get sick from fumes, and I can get sick from bad food, germs,etc...

Its all about priorities! And NJ has them all screwed up!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh holy hell!

Am I being taught patience this morning??? Why does it feel like a frustration fest??

Tried to get all of your lovely comments on my MS page and it is still acting up or out too!

Jodi I know you have twin hummers! Not sure if my twins qualify! LMAO

Iteach that plant in the picture you asked about is a Rhododendron our state flower. Bonnie and Bill have over a hundred varities that they have planted in their gardens! The are beautiful when they bloom!

    Hi Carol!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Carol I think your health dept. Needs work! Yuck!

WA state is strict about that too! The process for our event permit was crazy! But we have had too many Ecoli out breaks so I get it.

PS the emission test here cost many people more than your $250 fine. I think more people would take the chance of getting fined if we did not have this in place as they know there are not enough police to keep up with checking for idling(sp) cars.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Lynn!!

I'm feeling way better! Last week I was so exhausted that it was hard for me to put one foot in front of another.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Jodi- We have cut back on driving. I use to drive to the Quad Cities or Rockford for shopping. However, it is not worth the price.

Anyway, I'm saving up to come visit you ! :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi EBJ- I am feeling better. I even took a long walk at 6:30 this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  19. OMG! Laughing at your 1-1/2 hour drive with so many stops! I can make it all the way to Seattle with no stops at all....drive time approx 3 hours. I can make it to Spokane with one stop for gas.....drive time 5-1/2 hours! We have driven from Jackson Hole Wy to home....drive time....12 hours. I think the longest we drove in one day was close to 14 hours. So 1-1/2 hours...hell sometimes it takes that long just to get to downtown Portland...which on a perfect day takes 15-20 minutes!

You're like a 5 year old bouncing around in the backseat....Are we there yet??? I has to go potty. He's touching me! Tell him to stop looking at me! Do you have any gum? Knock Knock??.....

**wondering if it really was roast beef???**

    ReplyDelete
  20. And....Good Morning everyone! I need to get ready for work. Probably won't be back during the day. Will be too busy!
    Have a great day!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good morning BARB/WA - You must have been reading my mind!!! Carol.....seriously, you sound worse than my kids!!!! lmfao!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. CAROL - Wondering if it is really roast beef?!!? What else could it be? Parts is parts?!!?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Good Morning, congrats on 1st lynn.

Carol- I am just like you- a little kid in the back seat "are we there yet?" I had having to drive anywhere. I am good for 2 hours max and I have to be out of the car.

We don't do emmissions testing here, but they do studies on "flatulance" from the cattle. A whole different kind of fumes. :)

Hope you Hooters all have a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  24. that was supposed to be HATE driving....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can we all say Mystery Meat??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok Goldie your state takes the award for priority misplacement!

    Cattle flatulance! ROFLMAO

    Good morning...

Congrats Lynn D on NUMBER ONE!!

    Howdy to
Lynn D, Iteach, Bono, Jodi, EBJ, Cpgem, Barb in WA, Goldie and Tinka and anyone else that lands!!

Emission tests - in our county you can NOT renew your license plates without passing one.

Traffic in my little town - LOL - we have TWO stop lights and not much traffic. :-)

cpgem - thank you for sharing your "adventure" with us..

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Goldie is correct. Cow emissions is a big concern here in WI.

    ReplyDelete
  35. MEK - Wow!!! I think we have 4 stop lights in Oregon!!! lmfao!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well, that, and Jodi's emissions.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ok wants I have to ask, What are you guys feeding your cows and Jodi?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am still having trouble answering comments on myspace. I can send them but if I click on reply, Tom tells me he is still working on the problem. He must have been working all night because it's the same message I got last evening. LOL

Good Morning Lynn - You must be first as a reward for all the charity work you did yesterday. I would have expected you to sleep late.

    Good Morning - Iteach, Bono,
    East Bay J and Jodi.

Good Morning Carol - A very entertaining blog this morning. I am like you. I don't like the look of some of these rest stops. I would rather starve than risk the ecoli. One memory that sticks in my mind was being in the Detroit airport waiting to get a plane home.(I can never figure out why to fly west from Cincy to Seattle you first fly north to Detroit.) Any way I was there and I was hungry. I thought a taco would be nice and there was a sweet little black girl selling tacos. When she made mine, she licked her fingers so that she was able to separate the taco shells. I didn't want to hurt her feelings and say something so I ate it anyway. It still makes me sick when I think of it. I hope I didn't ruin anyone's breakfast.
Victoria is a University city so our traffic is heavy and getting heavier the more the University grows. It is a clean city however because we don't have any factories pumping blue smoke in the air. There is a lot less pollution here than in Vancouver. The streets are kept very clean and we have hanging flower baskets on every street light in town. It's very pretty with its ocean and snow capped mountain all around us. I wish you all would come and visit. By the way I calculated incorrectly, our gas hit $6.50 not $7.00 as I previously stated but they are still expecting it to go to $10.00 a gallon by summer. I probably just discouraged you
    right there from visiting us.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Good Morning Mek, Goldie and Want2sleep. I hope you are all well today.
I am going to have breakfast and watch Regis. See you later.

    ReplyDelete
  40. wants: ROFLMAO!

Tinka: I took a 2 hour nap yesterday and then was in bed by 9:00pm! That is why I am up and about today!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Tinka - Thank goodness - I just ate - that was nasty!! OMG -

This is something I find interesting - for example, at Subway - they make the kids where plastic gloves to make your sandwich - THEN - they ring you up, using the SAME gloves to press the buttons on the register and THEN - take your dirty money and give you change - THEN - turn right away and start making the NEXT sandwich with the SAME gloves on.......... I wonder why they even bother!!!!!!!! oh well....

AND - LMAO - cow farts!! now that is something to ponder this am.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Goldie/W2S~~ I knew that cow flatulance is the #1 ozone-layer destroyer (Methane is a much more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide), but other than cutting back on potato salad consumption (lol), how DO you control it?

  52. Hi everyone! I hate to hoot and run, but I still have a lot to do before leaving for France next week. I have been scanning important documents (insurance, passport, rail tickets etc.)and sending them to my gmail account.I bought an international phone card to ease Mr Mary's mind. He is sure I will be kidnapped, robbed and disappear from the face of the earth lol! Now I'm off to get me a "inside your cloths" money belt.

    Jodi~ LMAO "parts are parts"

Carol~ I think I will take my chances with the cow stinkies here in the country LOL! I hate traffic, that is why I am heading for the city now, before the 5'oclock traffic...Later

    ReplyDelete
  53. ok had to start the week off right.

That one was for you TinaHO~

    Tink: How is Tango...

ok, gotta get to work, bbl.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Mek - This was no morning to be eating breakfast and reading the blog at the same time. From the little girl licking her fingers to cow flatulence and other emissions and using rubber gloves to handle food and money, one must have a good stomach today. We do cover every topic on this blog don't we? At least we are never boring. I agree Jeff Probst is a doll. I love it when he's the guest host.

Lynn - Even with a two hour nap you must be a very energetic person. I nap every day and can't say that. Of course I am getting to be on old owl.

What's up with Google today? They don't usually have problems. It's annoying.

Good Morning Ibebold - I am up with the birds - only because Tia likes it that way. Sometimes I think maybe I spoil my 'fur babies'. No, not really.

Mary - Going to France? I envy you. That was the next place Ron was going to take me but we never made it. I didn't see Ireland either and I think my traveling days are over.

K-Girl - I just scrolled down and you appeared. How are you doing? Tango is a lot better now. She is walking on all 4 feet but limping. She will still ride in her stroller for a few more weeks. I love pushing it. Tango can't run fast but Tia can and should so I put Tango in the stroller and Tia and I run down the street. Sometimes I wonder what the neighbours think of me but then again who cares?

Off to get some work done. See you this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Tink- you can put me in the stroller and push me down the street...just not down a hill please.

Google is having all kinds of problems today. Maybe they didn't pay their bill on time.

    ReplyDelete
  56. OMG - here's some MORE TMI

Went upstairs to start on the mess we created when the new furniture came - AND, I was just SO overwhelmed - i don't know WHERE to start...

came downstairs and our Barney got sick - I'll spare the details - but can I just say NASTY!!!!!!!

SO - I will be down here for awhile cleaning all this up...

OH - I just want to crawl back into bed!!!!!!!!

    :-(

    ReplyDelete
  57. oh boy

MEK you are not having a good day! I also understand about not knowing where to start. I have been looking at my closet for 2 weeks.

Tinka: LOL No I am not a very energetic person! I am still dragging a bit today but just pushing myself to get something done actually anything!

Mary: I am so excited for you! Who does Mr. Mary think will kidnap you?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I keep getting thrown off this damn site...
I was trying to say... Goldie ...I missec you... never ever would leave you out on purpose!!!!
    have a better day!!!!!!

  59. MEK- the overwhelming mess was just a sign that Barney needed you! Yuck to the clean-up, but I'm sure he is glad Mommy is there for him.

I can hardly keep my eyes open, am having computer problems and I feel a cold coming on. OY!

    ReplyDelete
  60. WTC!!!! Go away for a bit....and now my potato salad is the reason for the cow emission problem in WESconsin?!!? Thank you GOLDIE for coming to my defense!!!

WANT - If you want to boot me out of WESconsin....you can pay for my ticket to Utah or Hawaii......I'm sure that either one of my friends there would be happy to have me AND my potato salad!!! :P

    ReplyDelete
  61. LOl- IBB, I just wrote about my crappy afternoon and then read your message. Ok, my afternoon is now officially better (achoo!)

    ReplyDelete
  62. if Want is paying for your ticket Jodi, I want to go too!!! But WESconsin wouldn't be the same without us :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Goldie - We can take turns pushing. I am not a great walker, a half hour and I am in need of an ice pack on my back. We would really start the neighbours talking wouldn't we?

Mek - As soon as you get the mess cleaned up I am ordering you as an older owl to take a nap.

Lynn - I think you were just amazing how you organized and worked through that whole charity function. Kudos to you.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jodi - You took my #85. Now you owe me a phone call for that. But not right now because I am just going down for my nap. I guess I am the owl that naps the most. Love, Tink

  80. I think I found something that gives new meaning to our Thong Thursdays!

ARVADA, Colo. -- Police in a Colorado town are searching for two robbers whose masks showed plenty of fashion sense but little modesty: women's thong underwear.

A convenience store surveillance video released by police in Arvada, Colo., shows two unarmed men inside the store as they stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

    It happened May 16.

One of the men wore a green thong and the other wore blue. Each thong barely covered the man's nose, mouth and chin and left the rest of his face exposed. One wore a pink backpack in which he stuffed the stolen items.

The men also wore T-shirts and pants and are described as in their 20s. One had a tattoo on his left arm.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oh geeez goldie!

I wonder if they had been washed! Ok yes I went there.

However I am wondering about the pink backpack! LOL

    Dumb or weird criminals??

    ReplyDelete
  82. Goldie - that story was on the national news the other night - just plain nasty!!

AND - even nastier - Barney didn't even eat his breakfast - SO, have NO idea where all that "mess" came from!!!

    and EVEN SADDER!!

The police officer that was shot yesterday died..... the sheriff deputies are still in the hospital. very sad....

Tinka - the NAP will win out - I'm on my way!!!

  83. Good Afternoon Eveyone!

CPGEM: The traffic in Phoenix is horrendous. There is always construction somewhere, always lines, always delays. They are either widening a street, paving it or building a bridge over it. We have had pollution adviseries for the last 3 days. No one with any kinds of breathing problems is supposed to go outside. There are strict rules and fines for car emissions. To think that when we moved here in 1966..it was for the clean air.

    LYNND!! Congrats on FIRST!

    ReplyDelete
  84. JODI: You have a friend in Arizona that would be happy to let you stay here too.

GOLDIE: Hope you've been able to keep that cold at bay.

MEK: How are you surviving the heat?? How's Barney doing this afternoon?

ITEACH: I hear Universal is going to be open..are you going to try and go when you're in LA?? Hope you plan to take a long walk on the beach too!!

EBJ: I had a friend that lived in SanFran and she either used public transportation or walked..she never even owned a car while there.

TINKA: You're beautiful description of where you live had me checking my bank accounts. Unfortunately, still can't do it. Makes me very sad. :(

Waving HI to: BON'O, GLYNIS, IBB, KGRL, MARY and WANT!!

  85. ARVADA, COLORADO....that is about 1/2 hour from my house. I wonder if my husband has been out "shopping" or never mind, he's not in his 20's. My brother lives in Arvada but he is close to my age but I will have to check with him. lol I can't believe I haven't heard about it as I have become a very "newsy" person just sitting around all the time lately.

MEK: Boy, you have had a time of it with animals haveing sick messes. There must be a flu going through your house..quick, put on a mask! :)

TINK; I was so glad to see you found out who reasearched the doggie stroller for you. When I read that you were thanking me..I was trying to remember when I did it and how I even knew a dog would have a stroller. Hey, I am still on drugs so I could be surprised by anything I still am doing (and blaming it on drugs)!

CAROL: You are like my daughter. We went on a trip to Mt Rushmore last summer and she wanted to spend the first night in Cheyenne, Wyoming and that is about 1-1/2 hour from our house.

JODI: I was reading the paper yesterday and it was talking about something in Oregon, Wyoming. It must be your sister town.

I have so enjoyed reading the blog and posts every day. It is nice to be able to be on here and writing today. Thank you to all of you for you posts and to Carol for inventing this blog and ZONA for always posting for me!!

BTW TINA, I am not "faking it in Denver". Remember when you told some of our other owls that and then you got sick so be very, very careful!!

  107. I have a call, gotta go...

I will see ya all later!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Back from my walk and drinking a diet Coke. Life is good.

Jodi - I just missed your call. My nap is always followed by our walk. Then the puppies feet need to be washed. I am not usually available between noon and three but I am at any other hour. Have fun at the ball game and thanks for leaving me a message.

Goldie - That is the best thong story by far.

Zona-my-Baby - As soon as I win the lottery and it should be any day now I will fly you up here and treat you like a duchess.

Dianne - My mistaking your name for Ronnie re: the stroller put me in a new group. It is the "senior moments" section of the Night Owls. We will all wear pink hats. Jodi and Zona have joined but I don't know why. They are still kids.
I am so happy to see you posting.

Carol - The stroller has worked even better than I had hoped. Tango sits up straight like a Queen and Tia runs along beside her. For me it's almost like having a walker so it gives me support without looking like a walker. Tia and I can run really fast which is something Tia and I need and Tango can't do. Ronnie should get a medal for her idea.

I must get back to my housework. My cleaning couple quit on me because with the cost of gas it wasn't worth it to them to drive this far. They have enough work right around their own home. I am still looking for a good cleaner. You know one that looks like Brad the Gardener.

  109. Good afternoon lovely Owls.

Carol, California has very strict emission laws also, and we also have to pass a 'smog' test before we can renew our car registration. Yesterday I drove to the Bay Area (Dublin) which is about 1 & 1/2 hours from me and the traffic was very light going there. I even sailed right over the bridge. However, on the way back the traffic on the bridge was backed up at that toll gate and it took 15 minutes to get through...cough...cough...fumes. I am not aware of any fines for fumes, though.

Very interesting blog today. I also had to stop about 45 minutes into the trip to make a pit (pee) stop. I take Lasix and I can't go very long without stopping, especially in the morning right after I take my drugs. Thanks for the Greyhound alert, Glynis. I won't be doing that either.

    splitting my post.

  110. Carol~ I forgot to mention that I have very fond memories of summer in your home state! My mom used to take us to Wildwood, NJ every summer. Loved the boardwalk, the beach homes and the ocean! When I was little we also used to spend a week every summer in Margate. I will never forget Lucy the Elephant.

  111. LynnD: Congrats on #1.

Bon'O: Seems like I waited forever for my son's Feb. wedding date to get here and now it's June already.

Goldie: LOL @ farting cows. Who knew that could endanger the ozone?

MEK: First your kitty and now poor Barney. I'm cleaning out a file today and shredding like a mad woman.

Tinka: I have a feeling that your fur babies are a little spoiled! And I bet they love it.

Dianne is in the nest. Yay!!

Zona: So much for AZ clean air. Keep that inhaler handy.

Waving a wing at Jodi, Iteach, Barb/WA, Want, IBB, Mary/MI, K-girl, and everyone else who lands after me.

  112. Just got back from the ball game.....left early because it started to rain. I'm still not feeling 100% and didn't think it would be best to stay.

TINKA - I'll try you back soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Mr. MEK woke me up from my nap - but I sure do feel better!!

Zona - it's hotter than hell down here!! How are you doing??!!

SacBarb - I shredded some papers today also!!

Barney seems to be fine now - guess he just had to get that all out of his system!! (But why did he have to do it on MY clock and not the hubbies!! LOL)

OH - The Ghost Whisper set was burned down at Universal - wonder if she'll have to move out of Grandville!! or make an episode out of it...

guess I'll be watching the Bachelorette tonight - have to count how many times they say AMAZING!!!

I hope everyone has had an excellent day!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Jodi - hope you are feeling better soon......

    OH and I forgot -

WELCOME back, Dianne, not faking it, in Denver!!! You MUST get well quickly - time is flying by!!!

  115. LOL - that was supposed to be

    ONE FIFTY!!

  116. lynn....I HATE HATE HATE rest area bathrooms...so I have learned to hold it and use them only in an emergency. If I have to go potty, I find that if I hold it for a few minutes the urge goes away. And I don't mean down my leg! Seriously though, hubby will stop and run in, but not me. I'll hold it all day if I need to!

    ReplyDelete
  117. MEK....Our Subway Sandwich Artists (that is what they are called!) always remove their gloves, ring us up, and then wash their hands and put on new gloves. I have seen this many many times since I love sandwiches! They are really good about clean hands at the Subways up here. And I have been to 5 shops regularly!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Barb in WA - then it's a good thing we didn't go to any Subway down here!! LOL -

I know that is what they are SUPPOSED to do - I have to ASK them to change gloves and then they get all pissy!!

    very sad........

  119. Whabby - THE TOILET IS FIXED!!!

  120. Hey!

I'm AMAZED that other owls were shredding today!!!

I spent about an hour shredding and had a big garbage full when I was done!

MEK I will be watching Bachelorette too, I'm sure you'll be AMAZED at how many times they say AMAZING (I noticed that Jeremy said it excessively last week).

I guess I've been lucky at the Subway we go to (which is very seldom), the Sandwich Artists always have changed their gloves before making a new sandwich.

I watch that kinda stuff closely.

Barb in Wa your potato salad looks delicious too! Loved the close=up pics you took!

WB Dianne! Good to "see" you!

  121. Glynis:
I spent my childhood summer vacations in Wildwood Crest which is the next town over from Wildwood. Every summer for 10 days my parents and extended family would go to that part of the Jersey Shore. I have so many good
    memories from that time.

Especially on the boardwalk, the rides, the games, the food!

I wonder if we ever passed each other on the boardwalk?

Fun times, thanks for bringing back the memory!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Mek:
I tried watching the Bachelorette, cause I wanted to see how many times "amazing" was said also, However it was a bore!

I think I will wait a couple of weeks when there are less needy guys...

    :O)

  123. Ronnie:
What a terrific idea you passed onto Tinka! You have made them all very happy! Kudos! :O)

  124. Jodi - I am so sorry I missed your call again. I was on the other line talking to Zona and I could hear the answering machine come on. I thought it might be you but I wasn't sure. I will be home tomorrow morning. I hope you will be feeling better then and maybe we can connect up. We have been so cold at so many ball games this spring I am sick of going. Last year it was so much fun to sit in the sun and watch my grandkids. I came home early from the last one. I couldn't take the cold any longer.

SacBarb - I guess if I were completely honest I would have to admit that my 'fur babies' are a lot spoiled. Yes they do love it.

night.owls.sb - Yes Ronnie made us very happy. I was trying to do a make-shift stroller and it didn't look great.

I am turning off my computer and getting into bed. I know it is early but it is my grandson's 13th birthday tomorrow and I want to look rested for the pictures we will be taking. Aren't I vain? I should delete this.
    Good Night My Sweet Owls.

  125. Good evening, everyone~

Hi Carol~Thank you. I loved your blog today. You reminded me of my children when we made rode trips, having to stop all the time. I bet when you were a little girl, you didn't keep your feet on your on side either.

We have emission testing on our cars yearly in order to pass the safety inspection. When they stick that pipe up the tailpipe, they do everything but tell it to cough.

Oh yeah, we have a lot of farting cows, and husbands, here in Texas, but I never knew there was a 'gas' problem for the ozone. The only problem I ever had was if Huz fanned the covers.

Just finished watching The Bachelorette, and it was AMAZING, as MEK would say. I'll say this, the right ones went home.

Just wanted to tell everone high and we made it to 96 here in Houston today. I don't know how you Arizonia girls do it all summer.

I'll try to be back later.

  129. Ronnie:
You are so right, there was always a need to move by body around, and we always had to make stops...

My parents say I was annoying child!
Always asking 100 questions, so they never told me where we were going to very last minute, that way I was just nag them in the car!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Barbara- We have the same fear about restroom bathrooms! I totally detest them. I would rather pee in a bush.

  131. Sorry I have not flown in today!! Weird busy day and then all evening was spent with Mr. Joey on webcam, phone and IM!:) I had a blast! All innocent clean fun! lol

It makes me miss him even more though!:(

Y'all are so funny!! I've skimmed and have been cracking up!

I have to chime in on the Subway thing! I used to manage a sub shop similar to Subway for many years and then I worked part time at Subway last year! lol

I don't blame you for making them change gloves..Some employees insist on wearing the same ones over and over and it's A BIG NO NO to touch money with the same gloves or hands that is going to touch food! GROSS! lol

If you can only imagine the places I've seen people pull money from! lol

    Congrats on 1st LynnD!

Sounds like you had an interesting ride with your friend Carol! That's a true friend who doesn't even complain once with all your stops! lol
