  6. Morning Glories!

    Scrishy got first again!!

It makes me sad that Harvey is gone. I love when he and Tim are together you can tell that they had fun. I think I read in an interview that Tim Conway would do anything he could to crack Harvey up. That makes me laugh when I think about it.

Good Morning Mo and Kgirl and Iteach!

And no I have not downloaded any pictures yet Tina! LOL Later today unless a nap comes first.

Yes I just got up but I do see a nap in my future! LOL

Sacbarb is right "Broccoli Rabe" Its a Italian leafy green vegetable.

In Italian its called "Broccoli di Rape" It is very common in my house hold we chow down on it often!

The best way I can describe its taste is somewhat like broccoli, however its bitter and more leafy!

It can be made many different ways, however we usually make it with oil and garlic. I love to put it on a Italian roll and make a sandwich out of it.

Its also delish with Macaroni, as I had it last nite!

Are ya sorry ya asked :O)

  12. Good morning early birds, especially scirish who got first.

Carol. Thanks for posting that clip. It is one of my favorites. I ordered the DVDs of the Carol Burnett show the day you posted the clip of the dentist visit and they came in the mail on the day Harvey died. Is that serendipity?

K-girl: That's only a lot of wine if you drank it all yourself.

Mo: don't work too hard today. You need to save some energy for the nest.

Iteach: I hope your strep is clearing up.

LynnD: You are up and about early this morning.

I am off to the Bay Area this morning for a sorority brunch. BBL. Waving a wing at all who post after me.

P.S. Whabbear: Are they sending up a plumber with the part to fix the toidy????

  14. Morning! Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Great blogs and I wish I had the time to respond to them! I still have to work until June 4th (Wednesday). So after that, I will finally be "on vacation" myself! I have to inventory all the technology in all 3 buildings in our district! (YUCK)!

    Scrirish, congrats on #1!!!

Mo: I love your avitar! Is that you? If so, you are gorgeous!

Carol: I love the picture of you on the blog you had a few back! You are gorgeous too!

K-Girl: Sounds like a heck of a party! (Hope you remembered the Tylenol)! LOL!

Iteach: Hope you are feeling better. How was the zoo?

Morning to LynnD and Sacbarb too! Morning to all who fly in later!

  15. Carol:

I absolutely LOVE Carol Burnett! I idolized her as a child and wanted to be a comedian like her! (I was always good at imitating people). I used to make my grandmother laugh so hard until she would beg me to stop!

I have always loved the "Went with the Wind" skit! I LOVE the curtains! (For those who had never seen Gone with the Wind, Scarlet O'Hara did make a dress out of the material from the curtains....which makes Carol Burnett's twist even more funny)! However, it's funny even if you didn't know that part!

I agree that it is so funny to watch Tim Conway try to crack up Harvey Korman! What a pair!

    Thanks for the laughter!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jennifer:
    Good to see you!

I love laughter, it just seems, there are times we just don't do enough of it! So at least we can come here, and laugh at the silly stuff!

    I know I do!

  17. Tinka:
I am very glad you got the doggie stroller! What a great idea :O)

  19. Well it seems summer is finally approaching, and its time to put the winter clothes away and get the summer ones out. So that will be my day today, running some errands, and switching up my closets!

I really hate doing the switching of the clothes, It is so boring! And I get a headache cause I never know how to arrange everything!

    Some good news...
I put on a jean short from last year this morning and it fits perfect! So maybe I was not as bad as I thought (food choices).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes Carol, I agree! Laughter is one of the best things in life!

I am glad Tink got a doggy stroller too! My daughter wants one so we can take our cat with us when we walk our dogs! LOL!!! However, the older pug needs one because she gets tired and just decides to lay down if we go to far on walks!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh my goodness, I did not see Iteach's comment! LA so fun! Just you and hubby? or the kids as well?

  26. Carol,

Just hubby and myself are going. We planned this before he lost his job. We are only going for the weekend. Hubby did a lot of traveling with his previous job, so the airline tickets are free. Also, he earned a lot free hotel nights, because he stayed at so many hotels. Therefore, the hotel is free.

We bought our Cubs vs Dodger tickets back in March, so we don't have to worry about that. All we have to do is pay for food.

We are really excited. I love California.

  27. My three year old loves to run around naked.

He was on the floor coloring and he used a marker to decorate his wee wee. Thank goodnes it is a washable marker.

This is why I have to color my hair every month.

  28. I am too late to name everyone so I will just say "Good Morning my Dearest Friends".

Carol - What a great way to start the morning with laughter. That scene seemed even funnier than the first time I saw it, if that's possible. It was a wonderful ensemble cast. I don't remember Vicki Lawrence being so funny. I think I will order the DVD's too.

    Now to read the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I noticed by the QOTD that Whabbear answered me re: my comment about meeting in Heaven so I decided to read area 51 first.

Whabbear - It wouldn't be Heavenly of me to say "I told you so" but I certainly will enjoy that cup of English tea and just being with you for all of eternity.

Tina - Thank you for explaining the definition of "my whatever". Can you tell I was educated by nuns? I didn't even want to use the word
    "bottom".

Zona-my-Baby - You were up way too late last night. I remember tucking you in by ten. What's a mother to do?

Jodi - I will have a tall glass of that chocolate milk now. Thank you for bringing it.

    Now on to today's comments.

  30. Good Sunday Morning, All, esp. #1 Scirish!

I remember being on the floor laughing at 'Went With the Wind' when it aired originally. So sad seeing the Carol Burnett Show members talk about Harvey Korman yesterday. They were truly a family. In all honesty, with all due respect to HK, for me it was always about the comedic genius of Tim Conway.

Iteach~~I never tire of the visuals of life at your house!! Wish you could go to Universal Studios on your L.A. trip. So much fun! Sadly, it seems the back lot is ablaze this morning. Anybody hear if they saved the iconic Psycho house?

Time to get busy....have a good one, all.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Good Sunday Morning to everyone.

Oh Carol, I really needed the laughter this morning. Thank you. Harvey Korman will be missed so very much....but it goes to show that God has a sense of humor to have created such a funny man.

    Congrats scirish on #1. Yesssssss!

Hey Mo, hope to see you after the hell hole day shift. Missing you.

K-girl, 14 bottles...sounds like a fun party. Get some sleep.

iteach, I hope your strep is getting better. The coloring of the wee-wee....how cute is that. Better start buying hair color by the case. Enjoy all your precious moments.

LynnD, It sounds like you had a great Tea yesterday. Anxious to see your pictures. You give so generously of yourself.

sacbarb, lol "Are they sending up a plummer to fix the toidy?" You are so funny. Hope you enjoy your brunch.

Jennifer, I't so good to see you. Very soon you will be able to enjoy your summer...it's been a long school year for you, and I'm so proud of you.

Hi MEK, hope you and Mr. Mek enjoy your breatfast out.

Waving Hi to grandma moses, and all who fly in later.

  32. Good morning, BonO.
Hope you have a good Sunday.

  33. Pink/Tink,

I could just see you at the ball game with your babies all snug as a bug. I bet you pushed your new stroller like a proud new mommy on Easter Morning. You are just too cute.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Scirish - Congrats on lst. I think you must be the record holder of the most lst's.

Maureen - I hope you day at work goes well. Write us if you can get a connection.

K-Girl - How is your head this morning? Tell me the truth now.

Iteach - I wish I had a nany cam connected from your house to mine. I would love to see the coloured 'willy'.

Lynn - I always have a nap after lunch. That's what keeps me going until midnight. If I don't nap I fall asleep at ten, sleep two hours and then I am awake the rest of the night. I think I should have been born in Mexico where siestas are accepted as the norm.

night.owls.sb - I am so happy I got a stroller for Tango. It was such a good idea of Ronnie's to google it. It will make a big difference in our lives for the next few weeks. I am going to take a picture and upload it this afternoon.

SacBarb - Have fun with your sorority sisters. We expect a report from you.
Yes I think that was 'serendipity', the fact that the tapes arrived the same day as Carol posted hers.

Jennifer - I think you will find a stroller very useful. It has pockets where you can store things and a cup holder. I just love mine. Your daughter will too. It's like having a baby stroller to push.

Mek - Your cats and my Tia want us up as soon as they hear the birds singing and the sun is up. Actually it is the best time of the day - once you are up and had your coffee or tea that is.

Grandma Moses - That's my favourite skit too. It's the one I first remember when I think of the Carol Burnett Show.

Harvey Korman - I hope you are making all our family and friends in Heaven laugh as much as you did on earth. Rest in Peace our dear friend.

  35. Good Saturday night, turtle!

Good Sunday morning, scirish, 'weenie, Carol, iteach, Lynn D, SacBarb, Jennifer, MEK, and GM!

Sleep: It was indeed a tennissy day yesterday, and I'm heading out to the courts again in about half an hour. No rest for the wicked! LOL!

iteach: Perhaps your son will grow up to get a painted tatoo on his wee wee. Now there's something for a parent to look forward to! LOL again!

Tink and Carol: Ruh ro. I didn't mean that I would be surprised to see Audrey in heaven... the surprise would be at the existence of heaven itself! LOL for a third time!

And now to stop laughing for a second. Harvey Korman died last week, and so did a friend of mine from the 1990's named Jackie Krowartz. Jackie lost a horrible battle with breast cancer at the age of 57. Talk about life not being fair... Jackie retired early from her job at AAA so she could spend the rest of her life in, yes, Zihuatanejo, the same magical place on Mexico’s west coast that Andy Dufresne escaped to in The Shawshank Redemption. Instead, the breast cancer forced her back to the Bay Area where she endured the last couple of years in pain and suffering.

Adios, Jackie. I will be there in spirit next January, when your friends gather on La Ropa, Zihaut’s gorgeous beach, and scatter your ashes in the place you loved.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled Owl’s Nest programming…

  36. BonO and Ronnie - Good Morning. You flew in while I was typing.

Bonnie - I remember sitting on the floor laughing at all those shows too.

Ronnie - Yes I felt like I had a baby in the stroller. I thought I would feel foolish but I didn't.
I might have if I had bought the pink one. Thanks again for looking it up for me.

Time for breakfast. See you all later.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Whabbear - I can't go for breakfast without saying Good morning to you.
I knew exactly what you meant. I never thought for a minute that you would be surprised that I could make it into Heaven. After all I am known as 'the good girl', so good she uses the word "whatever" when she really means something else. You have to ask Tina about that one.
I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. Breast cancer is such a nasty painful disease. My thoughts are with you today my friend. I will pray for her family and for you.

  38. Hey gang,

Well I must really like and trust you guys!

I posted tea party photos and I have to say I hate my picture in the group shot!

I knew I had gained weight but holy crap!! This picture scared the hell out of me!

If you don't hear from me. I am chained to the freaking treadmill!

I don't know yet how much money we raised but we were busy.

The health dept inspector was very impressed with us and amazed that everything we used and all of the food was donated!! The only thing we paid for was the damn health dept license.

He stayed and had a good time and even left a donation!

  39. I just looked at your photos and they are great. You aren't chubby. It's the way you are positioned with your arms spread out that makes it look wide. I bet Tweedle Dum is bigger than you but she is standing a different way. I think it's wonderful the work that you did. Congratulations on a job well done.

  40. Hi again!

Just had to come in from taking a machete to my snowball tree (darn thing grows like bamboo!) to catch Puerto Rico election results.

and just in time to see LynnD's pictures..and we love every ounce of you, TweedleLynn Dee! ! Thanks for sharing, and congrats on good work for a good cause. That lovely garden is just what I needed to inspire me to keep working while it's nice and cool outside. bbl~~

Just finished looking at your pictures and it looks like everyone had a great time at the Tea Party. I'm glad it was successful AND fun.

Bonnie's yard is so beautiful and I can tell she and her husband must spend many pleasurable hours there.

  42. Ugh! Why did the neighbor pick today to weed wack his entire lawn?

Oh and just to clear things up....I did not drink last night, I was the designated Party DD, so none of those 14 bottles we're consumed by me..lol.

My roommates own a wine store and it was my roommate Liane's birthday. Can I just tell you that I could have made a mortgage payment with the cost of the wine that was consumed last night!

And Carol, you would have been proud....homemade noodles, fresh tomato basil garlic sauce, a second lemon zest based crabmeat sauce, bruschetta, garlic bread (of course) and Italian ice and gelato from this little Italian man that has a small operation and supplies the fine hotels.

When the newspaper guy came by we figured it was time to wind things down..

  43. CAROL - Again a great blog.....Mr. Korman is a classic and will be missed. Thankfully he lives on in these great videoes!!! Just the chuckle needed after a very busy morning at work.

TURTLE - Your spread sounds great!!! I'll swap you some potato salad for some of that yummy pasta!!! Oh, and PART-TAY.....sounds like a super fun time!!! So gracious of you to take a call from me in the middle of it all!!! :P

  51. Hi Maureen - It sounds like you are having a pretty good day. That's great.

BonO - Thanks for the laugh.

Ronnie and Jennifer - I uploaded a few pictures of the doggy stroller. We went for a long walk today. Tango walked around the park for a little while and then Tia and I had a very fast walk. That's what Tia needs (and I guess I do too) but Tango can't keep up that pace even when her foot isn't injured. I think the stroller was money was spent. I didn't have anyone to take a picture of me pushing the stroller. That would be a much funnier picture than just the stroller.

  75. Carol - I switched my closets a month ago bringing my winter clothes down stairs and my summer ones upstairs. It suddenly got cold again and I changed them back and there they still all today. We have never had such cold evenings. Yesterday was lovely and warm and we needed winter coats by 7:30. When will the warm weather come and stay? I have almost given up.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Good Evening!!

    Temps reached the triple digits!!

Cpgem - as you all were talking about changing out closets - I was thinking - NO - and then you asked!

SO - NO, don't have to switch out the closets here!! but I can't answer for Zona!!

Today is a sad day in Tucson - this young man was shooting at homes on the north side - ended up on the east side after being chased - shot two deputy sherrifs and a police officer thru out the chase - the police officer is now on life support, not expected to make it thru the night .... they have the kid in custody - I just don't understand what drives some people to do these type of things.

This police officer has one child deployed in Iraq and a one year old.

    SAD SAD......

I was watching "Raising Helen" (thanks to Bono) - but I'm going to switch to the new PASSWORD and see if that is worth watching..

    be back later!!

I hope everyone had an excellent weekend..
    :-)

  93. Whabby:
In reference to QOTD, I was going for
"utterly surprised" as if you are so naughty (which we all know you are) that perhaps the pearly gates would not open for, but instead direct you someplace else!

When I read that comment, I laughed and thought of the above!

However it seems you meant it differently than what I read...

Do you not believe in Heaven?

    Tinka:
I am so going to Heaven, so I will surely meet you for some tea :O)

  94. Mek:
That is awful, I don't know what drives this kids to do the things they do! I so wish I knew....

    Just so very senseless....
