One hopes they have Peace~

Neil Entwistle was found guilty of
killing his wife Rachel and his
beautiful baby girl Lillian, i am so happy
with the verdict, yet so sad for the two
innocent life's that were lost, Neil Entwistle
was and is a coward, and for me the lowest
scum on earth...

in the some of the pics i have seen of him
with his family, they look so happy, so normal
so it seems the pics tell a different story,
which lots of times they do

Neil, Rachel and baby Lillian

it has been stated at his trail that
he was in debt, and was dissatisfied with
his sex life, so would that be a reason
to commit murder? well i think NOT

i am so tired of people murdering others
for no good reason other than their own
insecurities, there are so many cases such
as this, it seems one goes away and another
one happens

how could this be? when did murder become
a option? when did the Scott Peterson's of the
world just decide they can murder who they
wish? i truly believe when they are committing
this hideous crime, they have a sick sense
that they will be able to get away with it,
i think in their minds, they feel they are
foolproof, and can walk away unscathed!

i hope Neil Entwistle gets life in prison
when he is sentenced, as he deserves to be
locked behind bars forever

this surely will not bring back Rachel or Lillian
but perhaps it will save other lives,
as i believe if you can do it once you can do it again

Rachel, and baby Lillian

i have learned in my lifetime and stand by:

"Never underestimate a soul, because anyone is capable of anything"

so true, so very true!

  2. I agree by the way- killing is not an option. We all have issues in our lives, debt, frustration, fear, medical issues- no matter what they are, they are yours and it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not- you do not have the right to take another life.

Now, that said- I have some feeling about the death sentence where I believe some should fry.

On that happy note- :) I hope eveyone has a great day!!!!!

  4. Hi Goldie!

I agree with you, some people do deserve to die for what they've done.

This is such a sad story. It is heartbreaking to look at the picture of the happy mom and precious baby.

What gives someone the right to take another life?

Just this weekend here in the bay area, a dad and his 2 sons were killed because of "road rage". How senseless is that?

I have to get ready for work, I hope everyone has a nice day today.

  5. Good morning Goldie and congrats on 1st!

That being said I have to respectfully disagree with you on the death penalty. You said "you do not have the right to take another life." I agree with you, but I would like to take that one step farther and say no one has the right to take another person's life. Not you, not me and not the government. In my mind the death penalty is a legal way to murder someone and I think it is wrong. We do not have it here in Canada.

I am sure there are some of you who have very strong views on this as do I. I look forward to reading them.

  6. Morning owls!

Goldie congrats on first! You brought up a subject that I am very conflicted about. I think that the death penalty can be a deterrent and for that reason, I embrace it.

BUT is our legal and crime solving system accurate enough that we always convict the right person? There have been several instances lately where people have had their convictions overturned after spending many years or decades in prison. Granted, we have made many improvements since their original trials, but are they enough? People are human and mistakes can be made..Hence my reluctance to embrace the death penalty wholeheartedly.

I am curious to hear what others think.

  7. Good Morning All -

We had a power outage last night. I had put my computer to 'sleep'. I did not turn it off. This morning it took a long time to turn on and it made a funny noise when it finally did. I have never had that experience before so I am going to turn off the computer until I talk to a Mac Techie.
Have a great day everyone. I will see you all later.

  8. Good Morning!

CPGEM: What an incredibly sad story, and unfortunately..becoming all to common. Our society is becoming increasingly violent, and there are those that think taking a life is the only way to solve their problems.

There was a road rage incident here last week, a 69 year old grandmother was killed and her 4 year old granddaughter injured by another motorist who shot them when they pulled over after a minor traffic accident. Just senseless.

  9. As I said, I have some feeling about some that should fry. I have very mixed feelings in regard to the death penalty where there is any doubt of guilt and some crimes.
Some cases which are so blatant or confessed too- including child rape and murder are still on my radar.

There is no clear cut answer for me and until I was in the position - I don't know if I truely would be able to make the decision to end a life. Self-defense yes, and I believe I would kill for my grandchildren and children if need be. But that is more of a maternal protection "kill the predator" thought.

Okey dokey, now back to work!

  10. GOLDIE: Congrats on FIRST through FIFTH!! Good to see you back and in fine marching form too! I was going to turn the light out..but think I'll leave it on for ITEACH.

SCIRISH: I know that I could never sentence anyone to death. That doesn't mean I don't think some criminals deserve it, I just couldn't do it.

TINKA: Hello MamaTink! Wait for the tech..better safe than sorry.

    Good Morning EBJ and SHIRLEY!

  15. After reading your blog again - what also really gets my goat - is after these men kill their wives - they walk around all smiles and gloating into the media cameras - like they are going to get away with murder!!!

OH - just makes me SO mad...

Like this other Stacey that went missing and it looks like this guy has "gotten rid of" several other wives - the ex cop - can't even think of his name - but he actually had the gall to try an on line dating thing - HIS WIFE IS MISSING and he's wanting to date!!

    Give me a break!!!

(oh - I better go find something to do!!!)

    :-)

Just so you all do know - I did sit on a jury and found a young man innocent - that poor kid was just in the wrong place at the right time!!!

  17. Sorry, MEK... but I agree with Shirley on this one. Governments need to set the example, not make decisions based on feelings of outrage and revenge and "eye for an eye" justice. Governments have to be better than the citizens under their jurisdiction.

Having said that, I am so in agreement with you, MEK, and with Carol about the personal feelings of outrage.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am going to delete my comments for the day!!!

I have not talked about that jury experience for YEARS - and NEVER share it -

SO - I am sorry to disrupt the blog with my personal experience...

  19. Mek I'm sorry you feel the need to delete your comment. These horrific crimes that people (and I use that term loosely)commit, have such a wide range of emotion and so many sides to them. It has to be very difficult for jury.

Thanks for sharing, if only briefly, your experience with us. ((HUGS))

  20. Good morning (for a few more minutes!) owls!

Really sad blog today. I always wonder, too, why these killers think THEY will be the ones to get away with it. I guess it's the same crazy thinking that makes them take another life.

Shirley and Whabbear, you both said exactly how I feel about the death penalty. I do think the punishment should be severe (life in a hard prison with no chance of being released) but I just don't believe that putting them to death serves anyone.

And, the fact that we can all have different views and speak them aloud is what makes this country great.

    ReplyDelete
  21. And Canada too Sandie! Don't forget how great Canada is.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm sorry Shirley!!! Yes, I know Canada is great. There are actually things about Canada that I like better than the USA!!

  23. MEK: I wish you hadn't deleted your comments. Your experience was an important one. You made valid and heartfelt points. We all share our opinions, beliefs and feelings here, and we all understand.

  24. Morning SANDIE!! Have a great day, I'm off to sleep!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. MEK, I'm glad I was able to read your comments before you deleted them. I think we're all products of our life experiences and hearing about your jury experiences made me think.

Thank you for sharing with us.

  26. Good night, Zona. Have a restful sleep! I actually had a dream about you last night!! I dreamed that you were hosting Bunko and I went to your house but I was supposed to bring the tables/chairs and I forgot them so I had to leave. Isn't that weird??? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. I watched the verdict on TV. His family said he didn't do it. It seems that murderer's familes always stick up for them and claim they're innocent. This happens in the news over and over. A man doesn't want to pay child support so he kills her. There are finacial problems so he kills her. What is wrong with society that this has become the norm. Murder is so common place in every city and many towns. These people come from all walks off life including cops and famous people like OJ. You never know if you might be in a public place shopping or at work next to a potential murderer! Society is becoming messed up. Your neighbor could me a murderer . A blogger told me that her husband's poker buddy became depressed and did a triple homicide before killing himself.
You just never know what person might lose it next. It's no longer just nuts that hide behind monitor screens. I know cops and detectives so I've always known it all, heard it all, seen too much....
Twenty years ago my girlfriend and her husband were murdered in their home right before Christmas. The couple was found the next morning by his 12 year old daughter. The suspect was a sherrif's deputy but he was never charged. He was too clever but I know he did it. Many people know he did it.
    Gotta run. Doctor's appt. today!

Good afternoon (12:10pm) to goldie (congrats on first), scirish, tinka, goldie, bear, mek, shirley (ty for breakfast), sandie and zona!

Such a crazy tragedy. Neil got life in prison, no parole in the U.S. His whole family is in England, so he won't have any visitors. The judge also said he is not allowed to write a book and make money off this.

Carol, it is so true - we are all capable of murder, in the right situation.
I enjoy hearing everyone's point of view on the issues! That is why I like this place so much!

  32. Good Morning Owls!

I will never understand what makes some people capable of committing murder and other horrible crimes. I can't even kill a mouse. I had to use humane traps to catch the mice who made a home in my shed, because I couldn't stomach the thought of them being in pain. How can someone do that to another human being?

Those photos of Rachel and Lillian made me sad and angry. My heart goes out to their loved ones whose lives will never be the same without them.

Shirley: I don't believe in the death penalty either. As my dad says, "Two wrongs don't make a right."

    Waving HI to everyone!

Today's tiny Owl is adorable! Such a pretty baby with a beautiful smile! :)

  33. Morning everyone! Goldie, congrats on 1-5!!!

Great blog Carol. It is sickening to see such a "picture perfect" family and know that it is far from it!

I'm going to have to go with Shirley and Whabbear on my thoughts of the death penalty. Besides, I think death is too easy for these people. They need to live out the rest of their lives in the HELL that they created! Besides, the families of these victims have to live their lives in their own type of hell, so I think it is fitting that these people should suffer. I agree that they should not be allowed to write books, earn college degrees, or have gyms and TV's. I think they need to be stripped down to nothing and be given nothing but enough food to keep them alive. They should have to live with what they have done and think about it day in and day out (like the victims' families must do).

That's my thought anyway. I do respect and appreciate others who don't agree. That's what is nice about a blog like this...we can say what we feel.

Waving my wings at EBJ, Shirley, Scirish, Tink, Zona, MEK, Whabbear, Sandie, Dreama, and Grandma Moses!

Shirley, thanks for the breakfast. I'll have some tea and toast please!

Tink, I hope nothing is damaged on your computer. I'll cross my fingers for you!

MEK, I agree with everyone else. I wish you didn't delete your post. I didn't read it, but I am sure it was great. We're here to listen to what EVERYONE has to say (whether we agree or not). I think we all have respect and admiration for one another, no matter what our views are.

Dreama: That is awful about your friend and her husband and that the poor child found them! My heart goes out to that poor girl!

Well, I'll be back later to check in. Hugs to all!

  36. Oh, I agree with Sandie, that the senior pictures are hard enough! I have no idea who that cute little baby is either, but she is a cutie!

Yes, I'll wait for the psychic Tina to make her guess!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Carol I agree with Sandie. It's hard enough to guess some of the senior pictures and now you throw baby pictures into the mix.

OK, I will venture a guess (no, I'm not going to wait for Sherlock Tina! Lol!) and say Goldie.

However I reserve the right (as a woman) to change my mind if I think someone else has a better guess.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Grandma Moses:
Thanks for the heads up, just went over to CNN and saw the news, Two life sentences, with no parole!

I think that is a good sentence.

When a option in a case, and I truly believe that person murdered another human, I am a full believer of the death penalty. I do not believe one should murder, and then live their life behind bars, living a life that they chose to take. If you murder, and are convicted of murder, then you should pay the price....

    goldie:
    Congrats on First!

    Shirley:
    Thanks for breakfast..Yummo..

  43. ok- my guess is that it is JENNIFER in the baby pic!

    Please confirm this tina~ ;)

    Marching to 50....

  44. I am happy to see we are discussing such vast differences of opinions and so respectfully!

I for one am not in favor or
paying any of my tax dollars to put food in the mouth of a convicted killer. That said, again, I would have to be without any doubt that the person convicted is guilty (like eyewitnesses or confession). Never circumstantial evidence.

But then again, I am not in favor of the way alot of MY tax dollars are spent. I keep waiting for the questionaire to come with tax bill- but they seem to miss putting it in there!! LOL

Yup- Jennifer it is. My guess, on the record and what a beautiful baby she was!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Jennifer was our senior pic on June 9th. So my guess is still Goldie.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thank you Shirley~ but I was 12 before I had that much hair on my head! I am bald as a biscuit in my baby pics (but damn cute anyway)...my dad's nickname for me when I was a baby was "Churchill". LOL

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think I am in the minority here, but I DO approve of the death penalty for those who maliciously, with forethought take anothers life.

I live in Northern California, where we have seen way too many murders of innocent lives.

Anyone Ramon Salcedo? Back in the 80's he murdered his wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, two co-workers, I believe, and slit the throats of two of his three beautiful young daughters. Miraculously the third little girl lived. This was in Sonoma County.

Scott Peterson murdered his pregnant wife Lacey and unborn son, Connor in Modesto, CA

Richard Allen Davis broke into the home of Polly Klass in Petaluma, CA, kidnapped and murdered her and left her buried beside the road near Cloverdale, just up the road from my home.

I am sure you all could name many murders near your own home town.

All of these men are sitting in San Quentin, being housed, fed and allowed visitors day after day.

Where is the justice? There is no justice for those innocent ones whose lives were taken.

I know most of you disagree with me. And that is how it should be. Freedom of opinion is a guaranteed right we enjoy in this country.

I believe in what the Bible says. "An eye for an eye".

Not one of these men, or the many others in this country who wantonly take a life should be allowed to live.

They have taken from you and me our sense of freedom and peace. They have made me lock my doors and windows at night. They have made me not allow my children and now my grandchildren to play outside without supervision. No more playing from dusk till dawn and then coming home after dark. No more carefree bike rides in the summer.

These men, and even some women do not deserve any rights, as far as I am concerned. Death Row in California is a joke.

Sorry this was so blunt, but it is how I feel.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I forgot to add the word "remember" before Ramon Salcedo's name, sorry

  60. Goldie Whoo Hoo! Congrats on #1.

What an interesting blog today, bound to get the emotions going. Concerning the particular situation noted, I think Entwistle like Peterson, is basically selfish and narcissistic. He is only able to think in terms of his own self interest and has no empathy whatsoever for his wife or even his own flesh and blood.

Concerning the death penalty, I do believe there are some people who are so evil, so sick and depraved, so cruel, and their crimes so horrendous, that they need to be put down like a rabid animal. Period.

  86. Congrats on first goldie!

HI goldie,EBJ, Shirley, Scirish, Tink, Zona, MEK, Whabbear, Sandie, Dreama, whabby, Glynis, j/l, tina and Grandma Moses

I believe in the death penalty because I believe that anyone who has had a loved one who has been murdered and they prove who did it, they should be able to have justice. Nowadays there are more ways to prove it so there aren't as many people who are innocent.

I mean, this man killed an innocent little baby! Of course, and his beautiful wife, but this baby didn't even have a chance.

What about the man (if you can call him that) that raped and buried alive the little girl? I don't know how he deserves to live, let alone on tax payers dollars. I really don't want my money going to a man like that.

Also, recently, I believe that it is Louisiana the Supreme Court struck down the death penalty for child rape. I don't think I believe in the death penalty for that if the child still lives although being raped as a child can mean a lot of problems later in life.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Zona did you mean you were going to "gobble" the man or the dinner? I'm a little confused. Lol!

  89. Carol~ I LOVE beer! Nothing like an ice cold beer in a frozen mug on a hot, summer's day! Actually, I only drink beer in the summer, it just doesn't taste the same in winter!

Last year while in Hawaii we tried the local Kona Brewing Co beer, and I really like the Longboard and also the Pale Ale. If you have Bev Mo, they probably carry it.

Appletini's are great too, but my favorite are Dirty Martini's.

  104. OMG, owls! Given today's topic, check this out:

    Say what?

I thought this was just really sad and pathetic until I got to the last sentence!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Carol, congrats on 100!! YEA!!! (Is that good?)

Carol, thanks for making us think today. I do enjoy hearing differing points of view--it always makes me think. And, I think it's great that we all care enough to have opinions!

What's that saying? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything! Is that it?

Anyway, have a good evening owls. I'm off to watch a tv for a bit, read and go to sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Mek:
    LOL...jumping right in...

    HA!!

  112. Hey, I've been found out! You Owls are good....I didn't think you'd recognize me without my purple hat or my pink sun bonnet! Thanks for the wonderful comments about the picture.

Sorry to the people that found a baby picture difficult to guess. I wanted to be part of the guessing the Owl game and I no longer have a grad picture. My Mom stored away some of her favourite pictures for safe keeping and after she died we couldn't figure out where that safe place was. They must have eventually gotten thrown out in one of my Dad's many moves.

  113. TY ZONA- I know that I can count on you to keep the lights on.

Leaving early tomorrow (again) for Chicago to move son's shit (who lives in San Fran) from the Apt he sublet out in chicago to my house. Just shoot me now. The apt is in Lincoln Park, across from the zoo. On a friday afternoon. In the summer. With no parking. Shoot me now, because if you don't I just know I will have to kill his father and him by the end of the day. It will be permissible manslaughter though. ;)

Are we drinking??? I'll have whatever, and a to-go cup too please!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Vig! You were such an adorable baby! You are still very cute too! : )

    Congrats to Carol on 100!!!

MEK: I think that is so sweet to get a hummingbird feeder to remember your friend! I hope many hummingbirds flock to it so you are able to remember Chris with a smile (as I am sure you do).

Well, not much to say as I have been a lazy bum all day! Oh well...

  118. so busy today~ glad i'm off for 3 days after today~

I don't believe in the death penalty. I believe it's always wrong to take a life. I believe the murderer will have to pay in the next life. But while they are still here, I really wish all jails were in the heat of Arizona, outside, where they eat food they have grown themselves, w/o electricity, and hell....no visitors especially to get layed...let them have at each other!!! uh....i kinda have an opinion on this one~

    vig~ what a cutie~

    zona~ hot here too~

    ReplyDelete
  119. Mek you're welcome.

    Vig your picture was adorable!

Zona glad you liked you TV dinner.

Remind me not to complain when it is in the 90's with 80 percent humidity....lol

Shirley, I appreciate the bail money.

I love Mr. Goldie dearly, but do I want to spend the day moving, in high heat and humidity, with a man that has NO patience for traffic in the middle of the city ....not so much.

  127. I feel out of the loop today because I haven't been in on any of the conversations. I get so upset about murdered children that my doctor has advised me to stay away from shows like Nancy Grace. She covered several unbelievably horrible stories including Laci and Connor Peterson and Natalie Holloway. I would watch her show every night and became so emotionally involved it began to affect my life and how I worried about my grandchildren. I now rarely watch her show and I try not to get so involved. There is nothing I can think of that is worse than the murder of a child. I have very mixed emotions about what I feel should happen to the murderers.

My computer is fine. The power outage scared me however and I got very little sleep last night. I am going to always make sure my flashlight and portable radio are within arm's reach. It suddenly was so dark it was frightening. I had no idea if it was a local things or a city wide outage. Instead of going back to sleep I stayed awake waiting for the street lights to come on. Dawn came first. All of our local radio stations were playing 'coast to coast' so that didn't help. It turned out to be local thing - a car hit a pole taking down a power line.

Today I had my 'fur-babies' groomed.
Tonight I am going to bed early. Tango must be at the hospital by 7:30 to have her teeth done. I am worried about her going under anesthetic at her age. I probably won't be on the blog again until tomorrow evening. Have a great day tomorrow.
    Love, Tinka
Loved your picture VIG. I would never have guessed you but I should have because you are still just as cute.

  128. tink, we are marching together

    ReplyDelete
  129. Good night Hooters, see you on Saturday!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Tinka - I was and still am obsessed with the Natalie Holloway case - I just know that kid's friend helped him take her out on his boat and they dumped her for shark bait....... sadly, her body will NEVER been found and their will be NO justice!! Makes me sick!!

Mr. MEK hates when I watch Nancy Grace and On the Record - I get SO involved and upset!!!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Goldie - You march for me. I have to get ready for tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Nite, GOldie - Good luck and PLEASE don't commit murder!!!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  135. Tinka if you are still up I'll leave your slimfast in the frig for you. Try not to worry too much. I hope everthing goes well in the morning. ((((HUGS))))

    ReplyDelete
  136. Yes Tina if I stop by in the morning I will take care of your weed...I mean weeds. And I won't bother Mr. T's roses.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Mek - I get too upset too. I felt so sorry for that Beth the mother and I could have wrung that boy's father, the boy who was with Natalie that night. The lies he told and the father covered it all up. As I said I get too involved and I have to stand back and not let it take over my life. I was so upset by the Jessica Lunsford murder where she was buried alive. It was then I knew I had to distance myself from these stories.

Shirley - I will grab my Slim Fast in the morning.

    Night All. Love You Owls.

  140. This morning I wrote a comment that was misunderstood... possibly by many. It was not meant to accuse anyone or to hurt anyone's feelings. I simply misunderstood why someone had deleted her comments and tried to say that she should never have to delete her comments because we are all here to respect everyone's difference of opinions. Her opinions and experiences count... and even if they are different from mine we can learn from hearing each other.

Unfortunately, this is not how it came out. And I am sorry if I have hurt anyone or made you feel like YOU were being disrespectful.

I think I am going to take a break from blogging for awhile. This was never my intention to hurt feelings. I have very strong opinions about many things, and no opinion about many things. But I truly feel like everyone's thoughts and opinions are valued and have a place here... and if I ever sound like I am making judgement on anyone then I believe it is time to step away for awhile.
