My grandmother died of breast cancer. I never met her. So when I was 32 years old, I asked to have a mammogram. My doctor agreed that it was time for a baseline. I went and have never laughed so hard in my life! I seriously asked the technician how in the world she was going to get a picture of me because I’m so small. She looked at me and said with a stone cold face, “I’ve worked with smaller!” The jokes just started flying from there. We both ended up crying because we were laughing so hard. It wasn’t that horrible experience that a lot of women say it is. Maybe it’s all in the attitude.
After I got the results from that test, I asked when they wanted me to have another. They said I could wait until I was 40 and then every year after that. I thought that was too long to wait when there is a family history of the disease, but the doctor reassured me and told me to still do the self tests.
Last year, I forgot to make my mammo appointment when I made my regular doctor’s appointment. After that fun exam was done, I walked up to the receptionist and told her I needed to make a mammo appointment. Without looking up, she pulled out the appointment book and asked me if I had implants. There was another lady standing there and both of us just burst out laughing. I told her that she had to be kidding me. She finally looked up and apologized and said that she has to ask everyone. I was more insulted by the apology than the question.
This time the office I went to for the exam was in another building with different people. They didn’t seem like they were much fun. No sense of humor. I looked around the room to find something other than my boobs to talk about. On a shelf were these ginormous metal trays. I asked what they were for. The technician told me they were for women with very large breasts. My eyes popped out. I could not imagine anyone’s boob’s being large enough to fill out, let alone spill over, these trays. The lady laughed and told me it was difficult to do those exams. I asked if smaller boobs or bigger ones are easier. She said the most difficult one she ever did was on a woman that barely had any nipples. She was so serious and tried to explain how difficult the procedure was, and it took her so long, that by the time she was done with her story, I was done with my exam. This one hurt just a little, but again, was no big deal (no pun intended!).
First! Wahoo!
ReplyDeleteHehehe I will read the blog and comment in a bit have to run Mr. LD to ride share.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, Tina!
ReplyDeleteI got squished last October, so in a few months I will get squished again! I even got a coupon for a free Latte at Kaiser!
I told all about my experience last October on the "other" blog back then, so I will not bore anyone with THAT story again!
But, if I remember correctly, Miss Zona (or maybe it waws Bon'o) was like the one hold out (no pun there either), to get their Girls squished. I hope they and everyone else here on the blog, with two major exceptions, LOL, will make sure to their Girls squished.
My experience was quite the same as yours, as I think I have small breasts too, but the lady said the same thing to me. We had lots of laughs too, and it really is not all that bad at all!
So, ladies, remember to go get squished, we want us all around this lovely nest for a long, long time!!!
And before I forget, Congrats to Lynn for # 1 today.
I have no idea why I am up so early today. Just couldn't stay asleep! Maybe that means an early morning nap will be calling my name.
Have a great morning all!
Donna Jean
I meant was Bon'O, not waws. I better proof-read better next time!
ReplyDelete5, just because
ReplyDeleteNo guess yet for the Beauty in the picture. I will wait for Miss Tina, the "Photo Psychic"!
ReplyDeletePS: has she gotten ANY wrong, yet???
Good morning hooters and happy dance for 1st lynn
ReplyDeleteI seem to always be getting smashed (my boobs that is). I had a biopsy 2 years ago (negative) and then had to have one every 6 months. On my final 6 month one they found another spot. Another mammo, then an ultrasound. Again nothing they said, but come back in 6 months!
I burst into giggles everytime- because they always ask if you have implants. I always respond that if I did would I really look like this????????
Dianne- horror story of the dr.
I would be chewing some serious ass about that!
The day before we left for vacation I had a dr's appt. As I sat there waiting the tornado siren went off. They started announcing that people should go to the designated area, follow the staff please. People are streaming out (I was on 2nd floor) and I sat there. I had been listening to the weather and knew the storm was east of us.
Someone came to me and said it was my choice but I should go downstairs. I asked if my Dr. went downstairs or was seeing patients. She said seeing patients in the interior rooms. So I said - he is 15 minutes behind already - I am not budging! I mean come one, where better to be if you get hurt in a storm then the clinic???LOL
I hope I don't have a day of foad again. Has never happened to me like that since we arrived in the nest. Keeping feathers crossed....
Get Squished! Get Squished!
ReplyDeleteI had mine last fall. I was having the weird rash problems on my breasts and the doc decided time for Mammogram. I will go every two years.
To me it was easier than the pap! My attendent was a great lady! I do evidently have slightly larger breast than Tina and DonnaJean so the squeezing was a little painful. But doable!
It is Amazing how flat they can get them! Previews of what is yet to come! LOL
I do strongly and I mean very strongly recommend when you do your monthly exam to take note of any skin changes as well! If you have anything that looks like a bug bite and is itching and won't go away or looks like it is spreading go to your doctor immediately.
There is also a breast cancer called Inflammatory Breast Disease and it is very rapid growing! It usually starts in or around the nipple area. When I had the rash this is what they were checking for and actually had to do a skin biopsy of my nipple. This cancer will not be detected by a lump the early stages are only detectable by biopsy and then a Mammogram.
Thank god mine was a rash and was treated by a dermatologist.
Don't fool around! Get checked!
PS Our Male owls please check your breast also as it is not unheard of for men to get breast cancer!
Ok I have foodbank today I will check back later!
Mornin', LD, DJ & Goldie!
ReplyDeleteDJ~Not me.I was the one whose primary care doc scared the bejezus out of me last fall by feeling something 'unusual' just weeks after I'd gotten the all-clear. My app't was on a Thursday, so she scheduled me for an ultrasound by specialist the following Monday. That was NOT a fun weekend, but all was well...for now.
I say today's owl is Bebbi! Y'all have a good one. I've got to get busy before the onslaught of hot days starts.
Mary/MI~~All rested? We're ready for lots o' pics!
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteLynn is first again, woohoo!!
Hi to DJ, Goldie and Bono!
I go in on Monday for the yearly squeeze. Not my favorite thing to do, but very necessary.
My mom had breast cancer so that is even more of an incentive for me to go yearly.
One time I got a call back and told I needed to come in for an ultrasound. I was so frightened!
Luckily it was a cyst and nothing to be concerned about.
Hope everyone has a good day today. We are still smoky and hazy here, hopefully will clear up soon.
Good morning OWLETTES!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLynnD.. Congrats on 1st!!!!!
Morning
Donna Jean...
Goldie.. welcome back.. hope you had a good va-ca!!!
BonO...
EBJ...
Morning all.... must go read...
BRB...
TWELVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!!!
ReplyDeleteGOod morning, Lynn D (FIRST), DJ, Goldie, Bono, EBJ, and IBB (I know Tinka will be along shortly!!)..
Tina - great blog!! and I must confess my sin..
Forgive me Father for I have sinned, it's been WAY too long since I have been "squeezed"..
Since moving to AZ, I have NOT found a doctor that I like and therefore, have NOT been taking care of myself the way that I need to!!
Making doctor appts is on my list of things to do that I keep procrastinating about!!
NOW - don't everyone jump down my throat, cuz I KNOW!!!!!!!! I have been extremely neglective to myself and I KNOW that!!!!
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
I think the Senior Owl is Bebbi also!! that's what I thought the minute I saw!! I see that Bono agrees!!
ReplyDeleteI remember a mamo in Colorado Springs that hurt SO badly, I had tears running down my face..... since they had found some "build up" - I had to come back and have some more pictures taken - and I BEGGED to NOT get the same tech -the gal that I got said - "we have SO many complaints about her" - I said ' NO SHIT '!!!!
But - I've had some VERY pleasant experiences also!! if that can be pleasant!!
AND, Whabby and Joey - you guys are NOT exempt from this blog today!!!
:-)
FIFTEEN
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owls - I hope you have all read Tina's great post and the comments so far. They are a fantastic incentive to phone today for your appointment. I have no interesting story to tell. I don't think I have ever laughed at the clinic. It's always so somber. In Canada, the Health experts decided that if you have had 5 years of clear exams then it is only necessary to go every two years. I think it was just a way to save some Health money. I get a letter every two years to remind me and I always respond the same day. It doesn't hurt much now but when I was younger I found it to be very painful. The pain is worth it however. My mom's sister died of breast cancer at age 65. She suffered so much. A 15 second pain is nothing compared to what she went through.
ReplyDeleteOur summer has arrived finally. We are going to get weather in the high 80's this week. It's funny though, just two days of heat and you will hear people complaining how hot it is.
I am going to sit in my swing and just enjoy it. Yesterday I worked. Today I will rest. Life is great.
I have no idea who the beauty is today. I will wait a while.
I forgot to say "Congrats on First Lynn".

Tinka,
and all of those who land in the nest after me!
Lynn~ great info. I haven't heard about that. I will be sure to check for any rashes.
Bon'O~ must have been Zona who hadn't had her Mam. Am I right Miss Zona?
Off to watch the Wedding on Today Show. I love those things! Hope they get the Bora Bora Honeymoon, I voted for that! (because my daughter went there for hers, and I am jealous)
The Wedding is getting ready to start on The Today Show.. I'll go watch that....... then I must get on with my day!!
ReplyDeleteIt's overcast with rain in the forecast, still with temps reaching 104 (it's cooling down!! LOL).......
Last night, we had a lightening storm, but no moisture... Those a dangerous, cuz they spark wildfires.........
See ya'll later!!!
well this topic is very near and dear to heart... since it was a mammo that detected Alice's lump... could not feel it at all... so the mammo was early detection...
ReplyDeleteTHANK GOD.....
6 months later chemo and radiation done .....
My friend will be O.K.
Since my car accident 3 years ago.. I had very serious breast injury... a year later had a lump ectomy... found it was scar tissue from the wreck... so I have to keep a good eye on it.... as it could develope into something else!!!!
Morning MEK.... Tinka!!!!!
DJ, I voted for Italy!!! and I've only missed on one - (the bridesmaids dress)!!
ReplyDeleteLOL
Hey hooters (how appropriate is that for today's blog?)! I had breast cancer in '92 so I can't even begin to express how important it is to get the squeeze on a regular basis. I was only in my early 30's at the time, so it is never too soon to start (and no history of it in my family). As much as I neglect my health (no, Whabby - still haven't seen the doctor about this cough), I never neglect my yearly squeeze!
ReplyDeleteYep.. I am going to say the owl is BEbbi also...
ReplyDeletelooks like a girl i went to school with!!!!
I thought "how did carol get her picture..."
HI lynnd, donnajean, goldie, bono, EBJ, IBB, mek, and tink.
ReplyDeletetina: I am so glad you put the breast exam on here. I had a reminder come back in March and I still haven't called~! I will find that reminder and call them tomorrow to set it up. Thanks so much!!
I haven't read all the comments as I am "in and out" for lunch again, but I hope everyone is having a great day!!
CG....
ReplyDeletelong time ...
Good to see you...
wow... that young... thank goodness for early detection...
Hey, CG is back!! have missed you!!
ReplyDeleteThey are sure dragging out the "reveal" on Today - this a.m...
Hey, IBB - one of the groomsmen is the QB of the Redskins!!
Okay - I just went and cheated - watched the video..
ReplyDeleteThey get the honeymoon they wanted and I was WRONG!!!!!! BUMMER!!!
I have not been squeezed.
ReplyDeleteI will go at 40 promise!
Mamograms are very important and should never be put off just because they aren't fun. My childhood friend lost her Mother to cancer on Mother's Day last month. It began as breast cancer and spread into her hips. She couldn't walk and was in constant pain. She lived 18 months once diagnosed and those 18 months were sad and she just deteriated so much with her bosdy and health.
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt had breast cancer. She went to the doctor right away. She had a mastectomy and is now alive and well.
Thank you for writing this blog. It is an extremely important subject.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletebody...not bosdy (typo)
ReplyDeleteTina: Great blog! I love your humor and your concern all the same! You are a great person!
ReplyDeleteI have never been squeezed (because I was told I was too young) but I did have to have an ultra sound (as I have cysts). Luckily, none of them are cancerous. I turn 40 in February, so I will get checked then. (I may need those trays too)! I always envy those who are small. I hate hauling around these sand-bags day in and day out!
On other news, Katie and I had fun with my parents in the Amana Colonies (in Iowa). We were lucky we didn't go there earlier (as some of the roads were still closed from the floods)! It was incredible (and very sad) to see so many fields that were still flooded. Not only will high gas prices cause the food to go up, but the loss of crops will as well! A lot of the corn grown is also to feed cattle.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am off to take my shower and then take Katie to piano. Today and tomorrow are the last few soccer matches! I'm very excited (so will check back this evening)!
Lynn D: Congrats on #1!
Hi to Donna Jean, Goldie, Bon'O, EBJ, IBB, Tinka, MEK, Canadagirl, Bebbi, Iteach, and Dream!
Hi to everyone who flies in later!
BBL!
BTW, I have NO idea who our pretty owlette is today! She's a cutie though!
ReplyDeleteIteach: I still think you a cutie too! (And still are)! I think a lot of us had mullets back then! LOL!!!
...44...OK, that's better! ; )
ReplyDeleteLynnD Congrats on #1 again!
ReplyDeleteTina Great blog! I had my mammogram in May which is my birthday month. I consider it a present to myself. I really don't mind mammos at all even though I'm terrible about seeking medical help if I'm sick and once waited 15 yrs between PAP smears! The last mammogram I had, as I lifted my breast and flopped it on the tray, I referred to it as a half-filled water balloon. The tech and I had a good laugh over that.
Zona This blog's for you!!!
DonnaJean Waving a wing at you and Laurie Elizabeth!
Your senior pic is very cute, Bebbi! :)
ReplyDeleteHey guys home for a bit thought I would check in!
ReplyDeleteI think todays owl is....Amicus! LMAO
I am really crappy at guessing but we sure have some cuties that blog here!
MEK: It is squishin time! Now don't argue with me!
I forgot to say earlier that after the Tech was done I asked her if I could roll them up now and put them away! She cracked up!
Ok I am off to pay bills and figure out a grossry list.
We have a new Grossry store in town but I think I will skip it as there were people already lined up at 6:00 am for the Grand Opening! WTF?
BBL
PSA (from AOL): Are high gas prices getting to you? Jack in the Box wants you to know that they sympathize. On Thursday, June 26 the restaurant chain will be giving out two free tacos when you show them a recent gas receipt.
ReplyDeleteThat's it. Just show the cashier a recent receipt from any gas station and you can get yourself two free tacos. The deal runs all day and you don't have to buy anything else. However, the receipt must be original, no copies allowed. Also, only one order of tacos per receipt.

ReplyDeleteLynn D - I didn't hear you !! LOL (and don't tell them, but I'm eating your relatives!! - with peanuts!!!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday Owls.
ReplyDeleteTina: Great blog today. I have been getting a mammo every year since I became a part of the Women's Health Initiative Study in 1992. This was a 10 year study on hormone replacement therapy to see if hormones increased the risk for cancer or heart attacks in women.
Donna: I don't get a free Latte from Kaiser! But Kaiser has initiated walk-in mammos which is so convenient. No appointment necessary.
MEK: Lightening storms are what have caused most of the 800 fires that are now burning northern CA. It doesn't look like our air will be clear for quite a while.
Canadiangirl: Hello and welcome back.
Jennifer: LOL @ your 'sandbags'
LynnD; Congrats on #1
Zona: Hello, I know you will be landing soon.
Waving a wing at Goldie, Bon'O, EBJ, Tinka, Iteach, J/L and all who land after me.
Hey bon bon- LMAO thinking of getting free 'gas' taco's (hope they are not made with refried beans)for showing gas receipt. I don't know why that amused me so much, but it did!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the march at 25 MEK!
My SIL just called, she wants to get vacation booked for next summer! I haven't even got laundry done from this one yet. Guess she really had a good time too.
Hope you are all having a good afternoon.
Ok I took a little detour through myspace.
ReplyDeleteI left you all a free mamo! So now no excuses! LMAO
Ok must pay bills!
Goldie - you need to make sure that you CLEAR your calendar next year for the BBQ!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when I read about jack in the box was that they should give their food away EVERY day!! have never gotten anything good there..
LOL - at "gas tacos" -
:-)
SacBarb - we only have 8 wildfires burning here -
I hope your air clears soon..
Y'all crack me up! When I posted the PSA, I was guessing who'd be first to crack a gassy taco joke...wonder how they 'cut the cheese'~? :~)
ReplyDelete(I rarely do fast-food, but have to admit I LOVE Jack's Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger/Oreo shakes).
Tina...what a great writer you are! And what an incredibly important subject. My Mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 33(and had five children under the age of 9...I can't even begin to imagine how frightened she must have been)and eventually died from cancer. Because of that I had my first mammogram at 30 years old and have had them almost yearly since then. If you are afraid to have one done because of the procedure, don't be...the big squish is usually really quick and over with. Get those girls squished...it is so important!
ReplyDeleteHow weird is this...I was in the waiting room at the hospital today when I pulled up the blog to read for the day.....I was waiting for my mammogram!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey have a new machine this year and it is all computerized. The squish was very minimal and quicker and you can see your boob right on the screen. I looked for the shelves and lo and behold...she said, let's use a bigger tray!! I think that is a job I could live without doing.
Sooooo, I guess today was ESP with you TINA. The doctor appt today was much better than the one yesterday (which I will try again tomorrow). MEK: Do you see the exciting life I live...doctor, tests, doctor, rest...I'd rather watch the Today Show wedding. Now you do you like best on the Bachlorette? It was nice to see Colorado on the home town visit last week.
Now it is time for one of my more exciting things...nap time!
Hope everyone is having a good day and hello to all of you.
VIG - I can only imagine the terror your mom went through. I am so sorry for her and for you having watched her endure it. I did not know this story before but it sure proves the wisdom in getting mammograms regularly.
ReplyDeleteLoved your call yesterday.
Are you enjoying the warm sun?
I am.

ReplyDeletebon bon- we ususally cut the cheese here in WI with a slicer. The cow flatulence problem is well documented though :)
ReplyDeleteMEK- Clear my calendar?? If people would stop getting married and graduating and my dang kids would move closer I wouldn't have that problem! I got home from Vacation and got another wedding invite. I just stared at it and realized I don't even know these people! Turns out the groom is a student in Mr. Goldie's Krav class. Sending a card-already have plans (in MI) that weekend. When is NEXT YEARS BBQ- if I pencil it in now there might be a fighting chance. I would LOVE to be there!!
Happy Hump Day Afternoon Everyone!
ReplyDeleteNot too many comments today, must be SUMMER!!! Everyone is out doing lots of fun things, and I am here in the house, because it is TOXIC outside!
So many wildfires in California. They say over 800. That seems very high to me, they must be counting all the little ones as well as the large ones. All I know is that in Sonoma County they are telling us not to go out unless we really need to, and to be very careful if you have any kind of respiratory illness.
Well, I have asthma once in awhile, so I am using that as an excuse to be lazy again today!
I know some of you beautiful Owls are younger than 40, and are waiting until the "magic" number to get your Mams.
Please read CG's post earlier. Congrats on being a SURVIVOR! Plus, Welcome Back!
It can happen to much younger women also. Your Dr may not prescribe one, and your Insurance may not pay for one, just think about it, OK?
MEK~ I Won!!! I voted for Bora Bora!!! Every year America votes for the "Island Getaway". I think it is because so many live in land-locked states, they dream of a Tropical Isle to while away their days! Although Italy sounded wonderful also! It was on the Mediterranean, right?
Hi to Bebbi and J/L, thanks for the shout-out!
SacBarb~ I think I got my free Latte because I got mine done in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They don't have walk-ins yet here in Santa Rosa, but what a wonderful idea. And now, Kaiser is doing all Digital Mammograms, which is supposed to show much clearer definitions of an abnormality.
I think I will now go back to being lazy and enjoy my last hour of peace before Miss Laurie arrives home!
Til later, Peace, Love & Squishness to all! DJ
Oops, forgot to vote!
ReplyDeleteSince I have no idea who anyone is, (even myself) I will go with the majority of my lovely Owlettes, and vote for Beautiful Bebbi!!
Plus, she ignored the voting entirely. That is a sure sign!

ReplyDeletethank you everyone for your kind words and wonderful/heartbreaking stories~ this is a topic near and dear to my heart~ I truly hope everyone goes and gets squished~
ReplyDeleteMek~ when I moved to Utah, i had no idea which doctor to choose. Luckily, a nurse lived two houses down from me and she gave me a couple of names of doctors. The one I chose turned out to be excellent....until he broke his neck. The female doctor that took over his practice is even better~ Check with your neighbors.
Bebbi~ I love that picture of you~ :)~
lynn d~ congrats on 1st~
oh...btw....i called and made my appt....but couldn't get in until December~ yikes~
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st yet again LynnD!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a very good blog Tina.
Good afternoon/evening to everyone.
Regarding the TOTD...I have never had a mammogram. I have no reasonable excuse and I won't make one up.
My day has been very tiring. I had to make three trips up three flights of stairs with my groceries today. Because of blood pressure my doctor said I'm not suppose to carry very much up the stairs. However he didn't give me a magic carpet to put them on either. Anyway I survived.
I went to a grade six grad tonight. The girl I went to see got an award for top girl in her class. She and I share the same b-day. I'm very proud of her. Her mother won't let me post any pictures.
So that's been my day. Catch ya all later.

ReplyDeleteShirley I think it's time for you to start getting mammograms. It's a little awkward but no big deal, really. You should set a good example for that young girl you are so proud of. :)
ReplyDeleteI just had a doctor appt the other day, and had probably the most in depth breast exam I have ever had. I last had a mammogram 3 years ago when I was 42. My doctor, because of no family history gives me a lil more slack I suppose. But it is now time to get squished again.
ReplyDeleteThanks TinaHO for a great blog, and I am happy to see the most of the owls are timely and diligent about having this done.
And Whab and Joey, just cause you are male is not a reason to not self check. I unfortunately have had a male friend that had breast cancer. Self exam is always the best detection selection!!!!
Hey HOoters!!! Just wanted to check in quick. Busy ass day and work....and I've been running ever since!!! Tim had a great game tonight....and he was the first to score on his team (by stealing home!!!).
ReplyDeleteTINA - Great blog.....I've only had one mammogram and and overdue for my second. For those of you that have never had one.....they are more uncomfortable than painful. Unfortunately for me, my first time was with a trainee.....damn.....never knew the "girls" were so flexible or could move like that!!! All I have to say is that they've never been "handled" that way before. :D I just made my appt....and it is busy here, too.....can't get in til October.
LYNN D - Congrats on first!!!
ZONA - You have 9 more days!!! :P
Crap....must be tired......should be busy ass day AT work!!! So sorry. :D
ReplyDelete80!!! Just for shits and giggles!!! :P
ReplyDeleteDouble crap......should be and AM....not and and.....WTC!!!
ReplyDeleteGood night!! Ovbiously I'm tired and my fingers aren't cooperating with my brain tonight. :P
I'm too tired to think.....I think I will just go with TINA and guess BEBBI for today's beauty!!!
The amazing owl has been revealed
ReplyDelete:O)
Carol I forgot to thank you for giving me QOTD. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteLovely picture Bebbi and I knew it was you. My record is getting better.
ReplyDeleteI have just spent the last two hours reprogramming the speed dials on my phones. We changed to a 10 digit system today. Is that happening anywhere else or just in Victoria? Too many people now have cell phones and they have run out of numbers.
Zona - Are you in the pool? I haven't heard from you today. Keep cool my dear.
Yeah - I guessed right!!
ReplyDelete88
ReplyDeletewell, it's thundering and lightening here - so I am going to shut down the computer..
ReplyDeleteMr. MEK just called - it's pouring down rain at his work...
SO - I'm sure the news stations will say that the monsoon has started!! YIPPEE!!!
see ya'll when the storm passes over...
I colored my hair this afternoon - so now, I'm all pretty again!! LOL
hope everyone had an excellent day!!!
Hi Everybody! Wow, I wasn't that hard to guess!! :) I didn't think I would be, the old snauzzola gives me away pretty much every time.. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jodi, bono, mek, tink, IBB, j/l, tina, jodi and donnajean for noticing and comments. :)
It was hard for me to find that picture, I finally got it off my sister. I don't know what happened to my copy of it.
And Carol, that was the sweetest thing to say under my picture, it made me feel good all day at work (even if it isn't really true!). Thank you for that.
I wish I could have come by more today but I am trying to clean out old paperwork and have been shredding stuff like crazy. What a task!
Well, going to catch up on what people wrote today.
Thanks again everyone, that was really fun. What a great idea.
Whabby: I hope you are able to scan yours somehow.
I hope everyone's day was terrific.
jodi - your "hey Hooters" made me laugh! That was funny!
ReplyDeleteIBB: Where did you go to school?
cg: Glad you made it through the breast cancer, that was very young. ummmmmm....GET THAT COUGH CHECKED OUT!!
tink: not ten digits here yet, but they have talked of it for a while.
Okay, talking to myself again. I will bbl. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow we are leaving to go to St. Louis with my parents, and my sister's family.
ReplyDeleteExtremely nervous about this big family trip. I'm really hoping it is fun and peaceful.
It is always a blast with my hubby's side.
My side, well, that is a different story.
I will be back Sunday and I will miss you guys!

Tinka, I'm so glad you're having a good day and good weather!
Nice to see you back in the nest, Goldie!
iteach, have a wonderful vacation with your family. Just expect that it will be great and it I'll just bet it will be. I hope you get to relax a little!
Oh my Hell you girls are making me laugh with your comments back to me on MS!
ReplyDeleteI am really tired and Mr. Lynn D is having a very trying day. I am so worried about him. So I am just going to veg on the couch and keep him company for awhile.
Just wanted to let you all know I ordered 5 copies of Inlaws and Outlaws today. I will update you when they arrive at my house.
Oh and did I mention Seamus rolled in something dead. Well not something we found it in the yard a dead mole! I have to go destink him. I am so tired I am thinking maybe some body spray for tonight!
Damn dog!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on First!

Thank you for todays blog, I have been squeezed many times, actually probably over squeezed. As they always find something, and I always, always have to go for a ultrasound. Once all the test come back, they always show good results, and they tell me to follow up within 6mons to a year, which I do..
I did have a biopsy once, Not
pleasant for sure, however it needed to me done, and I came out just fine...
I am due again this month, however I have postponed it till October. My Gyno said that it would be ok to do so....
So that is my squeeze the boobs story.. :O)
Mek:
ReplyDeleteOk, I am now jumping down your throat! Go get squeezed it is so very important... Please!

I meant what I said..Glad your day was good...

Hi again!
ReplyDeleteTina I want to thank you for writing a blog about mammograms, it is sooo important to be checked regularly.
I would like to encourage anyone who is due, overdue, or never had one to please go in and get it done.
It is not that bad and so worth it.
The news tonight said that we will have this smoky, awful air for some time.
Today we had so many people come into the clinic for respiratory problems. It's causing lots of asthma flare ups and lung irritation.
Bebbi cute pic!
Lynn I think tomato juice or vinegar are good things to get rid of stink on a dog! My Rottweiler used to get sprayed by skunks fairly often, so always had that stuff on hand. It works good!
Tinka:
ReplyDeleteOur phone numbers have been changed to 10 digits a while ago, we always have to dial the area code now, even if its a local call....
Yep, they ran out of numbers...
Hello..Ebj.. :O)
ReplyDeleteIteach have a great trip!!
ReplyDeleteTINA: You, of all people, know how this subject scares me. I have put off getting a mammogram for 9 years. I was the best at coming up with excuses not to go. Well, today I made the appointment. Am I still terrified..yes..will I go...yes I will. Now quit pointing at me...;)
ReplyDeleteWaving Hi to everyone...{{HUGS}} to all...just cuz...
Zona:
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Kudos...
It really is not as bad as you think..Well, at least I tell myself that!...
Keep us posted...
:O)
Hiya Carol!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA YOU ROCK!!! I'm sooo proud of you!!!!
Zona~ I was scared the first time too. Terrified even. But when it came time to getting it done, it was nothin! I think it hurts more if you have little or nothing to squeeze. You will be fine and then you will be so relieved to know that you are in the clear.
ReplyDeleteI am finished programming my phones and I am off to bed.
ReplyDeleteZona - You have mail.
Good Night everyone. Sweet dreams. Love, Tinka
OMG - we have had some MASSIVE storms tonight - I should NOT be on the computer - but I had to say goodnight!!
ReplyDeletecpgem - waving hi!!!
Iteach - have a great vacation..
Zona - good for you for making that appt - :-)
I hope everyone has an excellent Thursday!!
:-)
Nites everyone!!
I called on Monday for an appt for my mammogram and got in Wednesday. I wonder why there is such a long wait for all of you. My primary has me get it done at the hospital..I don't know if that would make a difference or not. Now a physical with the same primary....months out when you call.
ReplyDeleteITEACH: Hope you have a nice trip with your family. It will be just nice to get away and have some fun and new adventures.
CG: I am so glad you came through okay with your cancer. You sure were young but I guess as they say, "cancer doesn't know any age." NOW...ABOUT THAT COUGH...have you been reading any of my posts of my pneumonia with only coughing for one day!! Please go and get it checked.
Yea ZONA: What was that date..I forgot?
TINK: We have been 10 digits here for years. The good thing now is if you move you can always keep the same phone number regardless of what area you move too. We have 4 area codes now just in Colorado.
I need to go to bed early tonight as I certainly don't want to be a second late for that lung doctor tomorrow!!! :)
I'm not sleeping...
ReplyDeleteZona THAT'S GREAT!!! It's so easy! Honest!
ReplyDeleteGood night everyone! See you all tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteGood morning HO's!!!
ReplyDeleteITEACH - Have fun in St. Louis with your family!!!
