i love the sight of a rainbow, for some
reason it gives me hope for the future
it brings a smile to my face and peace to
my heart, and the colors at times are
so pronounced they almost speak to you
they don't come to often here in NJ,
and when they do, they usually come
after a summer rainstorm or a winter
blizzard, odd that they come at these
times, i have to assume they happen due
to the weather, however i really don't
know the reason, i have heard that they
are actually a optical illusion, however they
look so very real to me, how could something
be a illusion when it looks so real?
what i do know, is that they are so very
pretty and when i see one, i want to share
what i see with anyone around me
i always think of the song "somewhere over
the rainbow" that perhaps over that rainbow
there is beauty that exists, that i have not seen
yet, or a dream i am dreaming will be real, its
just over that rainbow
i remember as a child seeing one for the
very first time and staring in amazement
at this half circle full of colors, it seemed
it was staring back at me, and waving hello
these small little wonders of our being
always seem to amaze me, its the little things
that make me say "wow"
A Rainbow:
Really Absolutely Intelligent Nice Bunch Of Wonderful
Perfect!
Hey owls!
ReplyDeleteLong time no see.Hope everyone is great. just wanted to try and be first lol. off to seaworld. take care, hope everyone has an awesome weekend :)
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteNC got first! LMAO Have fun at Seaworld!
Carol I love rainbows! For some reason when I see one it means it will be a lucky day. The last one I saw I went to a casino with friends and won $800.00 so my theory proves correct!
They make me smile and peaceful and are truly one of mother natures perfect surprises.
Where is everyone! Come on I know you are out there.
I made coffee! Can you smell it??? Wakey wakey!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Naughty croc. Congrats on First.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Lynn
Have fun at Seaworld, NCroc. Lynn I love rainbows too. They still give me a thrill.
ReplyDeleteI must read the blog.
I love your blog Carol. When it has been raining and the sun suddenly comes out we always look for rainbows on the opposite side of the sky from the sun. I think the rain reflects the sun and acts like a mirror. Therefore you see all the colours. We have beautiful rainbows here, sometimes double ones. When I taught grade one the happy kids nearly always had a picture of a rainbow in their daily journals. I have never seen a sad child draw a rainbow in his picture. I think rainbows equal happiness.
ReplyDeleteI must feed my "babies". They are starting to whine. We have already been outside. The sky is blue and it is warm enough to eat outside this morning. We haven't seen rain for quite a while so there have been no rainbows. Some day I am going to find that pot of gold that is supposed to be at the end of the rainbow. At least that's what the last leprechaun that I met told me.
ReplyDeletePeople are lined up already waiting for the stores that sell iphones to open. I think I will pass on that one. The last time I got into a lineup early was to get Cabbage Patch dolls for my girls in 1973. I am a little too old for that right now. For line-ups that is, not dolls.
ReplyDeleteYay Tinka is awake!
ReplyDeleteIs it just me? I don't understand lining up for a glitzed out cell phone.
Someone told me yesterday that 40 of the first 80 comments were made by my fuzzy brown owl. I think that is obsessive so I am putting him on "Time Out" and limiting the amount of times he can post. On behalf of "Little Brown Owl" I would like to wish all other owls, big or little, happy or sad, a wonderful Friday.
ReplyDeleteLynn - You are still here. I don't understand it either. It's a great little bit of technology but who wants to watch a movie on a two inch screen or send off an e-mail from such a tiny key board. The only good feature for me would be that it tells you when you are lost and how to find your way home. At my age, I think that may be handy.
ReplyDeleteTinka who told you that?
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your little brown owl! No time outs for him please!
Good morning! Thanks for the coffee lynn- I need it. It stormed all night and no sleep.
ReplyDeleteActually it is about to storm again and it looks like the end of the world outside. If it is, it was lovely knowing all of you!!!
I got a picture of the double rainbow we saw when on vacation. The first day we saw the grandbabies it rained, we came out and there it was. Proof positive that rainbows are mother's nature smile.
Congrats on 1st nc. Good morning to you too Tink!
Lynn - I am going to leave now. Give all the owls that arrive after I am gone a big hug and tell them I will be back this afternoon.
ReplyDelete15 Now that's a better number Little Brown Owl.
ReplyDeleteLynn - Thank you but I won't give out names but I am counting how many times "Little Brown Owl" shows his face.
ReplyDeleteTink I am an odd ball. I have my cell phone that I fought against and really I have decided it is one more thing I have to feed and clean and spend money on. Like an extra kid! LOL
ReplyDeleteNo Iphones for me. LMAO
PS I just discovered my phone has a calendar and can take pictures and I still don't know how to use either one. Oh and I can connect to the internet. Can't do that either. ROFLMAO
Moweenie if you pop in today some how I lost the last two numbers of your cell phone number when I was trying to call you one day. I freaking don't know how I erased them. I am hopeless!
Good Morning Goldie - Please post your picture. I love double rainbows. They are twice as lucky.
ReplyDeleteOH WHAT THE HECK
ReplyDelete# 19
Goldie stay safe!! It sounds like several of the owls are having crazy storms!
ReplyDelete20 Bye for now.
ReplyDeletelynn- you and I really are the same person. My cell phone does crap I have NO IDEA how to work. Hell, I barely turn it on! I got it kicking and screaming too, but Mr. Goldie and my kids finally insisted.
ReplyDeleteOk, Tink- I will try to upload the pic- and the heck with how many times the little brown owl is there- I like seeing him! (her?)
Tink- I said when I saw it that there was one rainbow for each Gavin and Brynn :)
ReplyDelete24
ReplyDelete25!
ReplyDeleteLMAO goldie! My seventy year old aunts showed me that my phone took pictures. They even took pictures of themselves for me and now I have to figure out how to pull them up on the phone! Pathetic...
ReplyDeleteI am going to go do my other stuff online and then need to get hopping. Our daughter and SIL have made it back to WA from Georgia and we are taking the grandkids over night so they can go see some friends and have some alone time. I am hoping they will decide to stay together now that he is home from Iraq.
Everyone cross your fingers and say some prayers!
I will Lynn- and give those grandkids an extra hug and a squeeze!
ReplyDeleteYAY naughtycroc got first~
ReplyDeleteGood Morning LynnD Tinka and Goldie~
(I can't believe it's really morning~)
I love Rainbows! Me and the Mr were in a car accident when we were dating because of a rainbow....everyone was distracted on the freeway because of a spectacular one and boom...we got hit~ I take pictures of them all the time....they are so pretty~
Tinka~ WTC!!! If I were you, I'd go for 80 out of 100 today! :D The same person probably doesn't like marching or tediousness or crackwhores!!! Screw them! (not literally!) :)~
Okay.....i'm off to the dentist....got a toothache, and promised Zona and Kgrl I'd go...double hate going to the dentist~ :(
29~
ReplyDelete30~
ReplyDeletetina~~ I feel your pain- literally, I feel the pain when I think of going to the dentist!!
ReplyDeleteYou mean someone doesn't like crackwhores???? What kind of commy dog is that!?!
Goldie~ I know....I'm only going cuz of the pain~ and honey....don't insult the commies! :)~ ...shit...or the cummies! :D off I go~
ReplyDeleteGood morning Naughtycroc and congrats on 1st!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Lynn D...thanks for the chocolate! Enjoy the time with your grandkids.
Good morning Tinka! Each time you post you bring smiles to our faces...so the more you post the more smiles we have.((hugs))
Morning Goldie! Take care with thoses storms. We had a little rain here yesterday but not enough. It is very dry.
Hi Tina! I certainly don't envy you the trip to the dentist. If you look behind the ketchup in the frig I left you some jello shots for when you get home from the dentist. A little something to take the edge off if you have any pain.
Carol I love to see rainbows. I remember travelling one day with my friend and we saw two rainbows. The kids were totally freaking out. It is fun to see a rainbow by yourself but even better when you get to share it with kids.
I would love to see the Northern Lights too. My friend's husband is a fisherman and he has seen them out on the water and said they are really something to see. Have any of you seen them?
I filled the freezer up with popcicles, ice cream bars, ice cream and frozen yogurt. There is ice tea and lemonade in the frig. Stay cool!
I just took Little Brown Owl off
ReplyDelete"time out". He is flapping his little wings and wanting to talk. He is so darn cute I have trouble being strict with him.
35
ReplyDeleteShirley- yum, thanks for the treats! I will careful in the storms- sounds like we will have a long night of again tonight. I don't know how Jodi got any sleep last night either.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the Northern Lights. Sometimes it is better then others, and best to be away from the city. From our place at the campground you can usually see them well. Shooting stars is something I enjoy seeing too- you have to make a wish when you see one.
tina~ I'll just stack a few brownies next to the jello shots Shirley left you- it will be good then!
Good Morning Goldie, Tina and Shirley. It's such a beautiful day here. John Denver used to sing ♬ ♪"Some Days are Diamonds and Some Days are Stone♪ ♬. Today is definitely a Diamond.
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't say that when you have to go to the dentist Tina. All the nice weather in the world doesn't make for a diamond day when a visit to the dentist is involved.. I am sorry about that. I hope it is just for a regular check-up and that no pain is involved.
Shirley - Thanks for the kind words and the popsicles. To me there is nothing better than an orange popsicle on a hot day. I don't know if it's just me but they don't taste quite the same as they did when I was a child. I think there was more orange juice involved. Then again, one's childhood memories can be altered by time. Does anyone remember the orange popsicles tasting better years ago?
ReplyDelete39
ReplyDelete40
ReplyDeleteOH MY - I am watching the Today Show - and there is a young lady - that I remember three years ago - they surprised her with a full ride scholarhip to the University of Oklahoma - WELL, she has now graduated from high school and is getting ready to start her freshman year..... Rascal Flatts surprised her also...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful young lady - and the whole thing brought tears to my eyes!!!
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!!
:-)
Okay ----
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!!
Good morning!!
cpgem - I LOVE rainbows also - I always wished on them... in Colorado, there were THEE most beautiful rainbows that you would EVER want to see......
When Mr. MEK and I flew to San Diego earlier this year - our whole flight was in a terrible rain storm - as we approached the clouds broke and we were ABOVE a rainbow - It was AWESOME - and I forgot to get my camera out!! oh well......
thank you for starting my day out with a smile!
Shirley and Goldie - We get the Northern Lights here on some clear nights. Going North to see the aurora borealis is a big tourist attraction for the Japanese. Most of the students I had, made the expensive trip to Fort St. John to see them. There is some belief in their culture that if they see them, their children will be very intelligent. It's a big money maker for the towns in Northern B.C. The girls always came back so excited from that three day trip.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mek - Carol can always start our day with a smile. She is an angel.
ReplyDelete45
ReplyDeleteWOW - Naughtycroc - long time no see - Congrats on FIRST!! have fun at Sea World - LOVE going there.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, NC, Lynn D, Tinka, Goldie, Tina, Shirley, and anyone else that lands..
My animals were going nuts this a.m., before 5a.m. - guess we were having a storm that I was actually trying to sleep thru... SO, my day started rather quickly!! I see an early nap in my future!!
:-)
Tinka - lets march to 50
ReplyDelete48
ReplyDelete49
ReplyDelete50
ReplyDeleteI am off to watch Regis. At 10:00 I am going to order a Mac Book so I can check on the naughty night owls in the middle of the night without coming down stairs. I will keep it by my bed.
ReplyDelete52
ReplyDelete53
ReplyDelete54
ReplyDelete55
ReplyDeleteGood Morning to all owls who haven't posted yet. Little Brown Owl says "See you all this afternoon."
ReplyDeleteOH - which by the way -
ReplyDeleteTina - I just about LMAO when I saw you swoop in a take 300!! last night... TOO FUNNY!!!
poor Dianne!!
Lynn D and others with fancy cell phones... we just recently got new phones with cameras and all that fancy crap - i can't figure out half of it........ the ring is NOT very loud even at the highest volume - so if it's in my purse - I can't hear it!! Oh well.....
Good Morning Owls!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I saw a rainbow, but I still get excited like a kid every time I see one. :)
I'm not the person who said something to Tinka about the number of times she posted yesterday, but I'll admit I don't usually go back and read the late night posts because of the type of joking that often goes on. It's just not my cup of tea, but I don't have a problem with others enjoying it.
Waving HI to everyone! Have a great day!
Brown Owl posted 29 of the first 57 comments. I used to be good at math but I don't know if that is a better percentage than 40 out of 80. I guess they are both pretty close to 50 per cent. Oh well it's a good thing he's cute. He can get away with more.
ReplyDelete60
ReplyDeleteTinka - I can't believe anyone would say anything to you about how many posts you make - I agree with Tina, SOOOOOOo
ReplyDeletePost ON!!!!
the more the better!!!
Tinka, I'm guessing that the person who mentioned the posting to you was just mentioning it and not complaining. I think we're all friends here and I just don't think someone would say that to you in a mean way. I guess only you know that. Anyway, like I said, I thought we were all friends here so I'm a little surprised at some of the comments.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to look at the glass half full and think that whomever said that didn't mean it that way!
Shirley: Thanks for the B'Day wishes! I was sorry to see that Carol's blog saddened you. Remember, we are your family!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Owls.
ReplyDeleteTinka:Is someone trying to tell you you are tedious? I thought that tedious was our mantra!!! The very reason why this blog was started!
Naughtycroc: congrats on #1.
LynnD: I don't know how to use anything on my cell phone except 'send.' I took a picture once accidentally, but I don't know how to get it back to look at it. I like your idea of rainbows =lucky.
Goldie: I like your idea, too, of rainbows=mother nature's smile.
Tina: A toothache is the worst. I hope the dentist can ease your pain.
Shirley: thanks for all the 'keep cool' snacks. It's going to be 107 here today.
MEK: I watched that segment on the Today show too and had the same reaction, especially when Rascal Flats gave her the tickets.
Amicus: I watched that dog show last night and I didn't like that woman who told her dog to shut up either.
Carol: I love your blog today. Rainbows are beautiful. There was a beautiful rainbow over the gazebo before my son got married, but no one got a picture of it.
Thanks so much for tending to our nest and keeping this going for us. Love you.
Have a good day everyone.
Hi Sandie. I think we were typing at the same tinme.
ReplyDeleteMary/MI: check your cell phone for a message from me.
Flying through once again!
ReplyDeleteI can now see the top of the kitchen table and the microwave is clean! wohooo I am always at a loss as to how it can get so damn dirty!
Hi MEK! Hi Whabby! Hi Sandy! Hi Sacbard! Hi Shirley! Hi Amicus!!!
Ok hope I did not miss someone.
Shirley quit bogarting the chocolates and hand me a piece! I need it! LOL
Tina: We all know How I feel about the dentist! Good Luck! Here is a kicker I think they may have fixed the wrong tooth at my last appt. The one behind it seems to be giving me some pain! WTH
MEK: I have figured out voicemail kind of and how to check for missed calls. But I need to input some new phone numbers and am lost as to how I did it the first time. It is controlling my life! LMAO
Speaking of which I jumped on here to pay the damn cell phone bill.
Will be back after the next round of cleaning. Tho I am considering just getting in the car and moving instead.
Ok I am officially losing it!
ReplyDeleteI just tried to pay my cell bill with my safeway grocery discount card!
Geeez Imagine it did not work! LMAO
Lynn D - i've got the entering phone numbers and checking messages down..
ReplyDeleteHow did that work paying your bills with your safeway card - I need to try that!!
69 for Turtle and Tina
ReplyDeleteOMG - this is funny - we are talking about cell phones - Mr. MEK just called - since he has been using our personal cell phone SO much at work - they JUST gave him a new phone..
ReplyDeleteLOL - we are JUST figuring out these and now he has to start ALL over!!! HILARIOUS!!
just thought I would share..
and be tedious with ALOT of posts!!
Congrats on first, naughtycroc! Nice to see you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, sacbarb! And, you are so right about Carol. I know it takes a lot of her hard-earned spare time to do this blog and she'a a dear for doing it.
Lynn, "considering moving instead!" LOL!!!
Ok Lynn D you can have a piece of chocolate, but, only a small piece. Speaking of chocolate...have you found your relatives yet?
ReplyDeleteTinka I agree that things do not taste the same as when we were kids. I use to like those mashmellow banana shaped candy, but they don't taste nearly as good as they did when I was a kid. Orange popcicles use to taste like Orangs Crush pop. I like root beer popcicles too, although chocolate is my favorite.
Hi and waving to Mek, Sandie, Whabbear (you are welcome) and Sacbarb (how's the air?)!
Good Morning Owls! TGIF!
ReplyDeleteCarol, last month you will remember my father died. I had to tell my daughter the day before that grandpa is very sick and that is why I have been so sad. As soon as I told her that grandpa was dying she burst into tears and was sobbing. She didn't know grandpa well, he lived 3000 miles away, but she still loved him dearly. I decided to take her to talk to our pastor because she is also a good friend of ours.
While we were sitting in the pastor's office talking, I was facing the window and a brilliant rainbow appeared outside. We get rainbows a lot here, but this one was brighter than most and lasted forever. I told my daughter to look outside, and after she saw the rainbow she looked at me and said, "Yes Mom.... that's God's promise." I was shocked. I had never told her that. She just knew that everything was going to be OK. I was never as impressed with my 9 year old daughter and how well she composed herself as I was that day. Her grandpa died the next day and we all felt like he was going to be just fine. We had been promised.
To all my friends in the PNW, remember: No Rain, No Rainbows!
I don't think I can relate to those of you who don't like all the gadgets. I have a cell phone that is loaded with goodies and I try to learn it all and use them daily. I no longer have to carry a calendar, an address book, a calculator, a camera...plus I have internet so I can check on things when I am sitting and waiting.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes I get in trouble. Like when I was in church a few months ago reading the Big Brother updates. Oops!
:0( As soon as I visit the nest the crickets appear and nobody writes back.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a great weekend.
Hi Glynis. I was just on the phone with Mary/MI and now I'm back. It sounds like your daughter has an adult insight. One of my son's is like that and my mother used to call him an 'old soul' She said she was sure this wasn't his first time around. It is nice that your daughter could find some peace in such a sad situation.
ReplyDeleteHey Glynis,,,,good to see you !
ReplyDeletelynn....
ReplyDeleteI dont know what type phone you have, but i will tell you how i log onto stuff on my phone and maybe it will make sense for yours.
I have a SAMSUNG camera phone from cingular
camera: on the right side of my phone there is a button to launch the camera function. Press that. Then I have to arrow down to select camera. Push enter button somewhere near center of phone. Camera should now be one. Aim camera and push enter button to take pic. The pic you took will show onthe screen. Select options. Scroll down to Graphics. Select graphics. Your pic that you took and any others will be there for you to select and view. You can even pick one to be on your phone screen. Just selct the pic, go to options, select set as, and then select Main Display. It will let you preview and then set.
Internet: Go to Menu. My phone menu shows pictures. One of them is a World. Arrow over and select that. Then it says Media Net. Select that. That launches your internet.
Hope that helps a little and you can find these things on your phone!!!
OMG Glynis~ half my face is numb and you just made me laugh so hard....checking updates at church~ :)
ReplyDeleteLynnD~ get ready.....sit down....here it comes.....I have to have a root canal when I get back from Hawaii! :(
Morning Glynis!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope I will get to see some of those rainbows the next time I'm in your area!!!!!
I just got a call from my friends husband who told me a mutual aquaintence just dropped dead this morning outside the hospital. He had been inside to talk to his girlfriend before going out fishing. He left and dropped dead outside. He was 51. Wow, I'm shocked.
ReplyDeleteTina~ It's just so convenient. They think I am looking down to pray. Sometimes I am praying that a certain "house guest" gets evicted.
ReplyDelete**Looking out for the lightening strike to get me!**
Hey Barb! I can promise you a rainbow the next time you are up here.
Carol....Rainbows are most certainly real!!
ReplyDeleteHere is the link to wikipedia. I never knew that there were so many types of rainbows!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow
{{{Hugs}}} to Shirley. I am so sorry about your friend.
ReplyDeleteoh shirley, i'm so sorry to hear that. sending hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteg....i'm gonna hold you to that!
ReplyDeleteoh snap.....upon reading wikipedia farther, rainbows are optical illusions viewed depending upon where a person is standing.....oooopsie....
ReplyDeleteRAINBOWS WILL ALWAYS BE REAL TO ME!
Carol~Can't tell you how I love rainbows. Nice blog and beautiful photo! Haven't seen rain, let alone a rainbow, for far too long. Been out all morning, though, enjoying the Great Outdoors.
ReplyDeleteSeems the TOTD, however, has taken a new direction. Before it gets totally off-track, I'm here with my 'big-girl pants' on to say, Yep, I'm the bad, bad owl who emailed Tinka yesterday. I hoped (especially after reading Sandie's 12:30 post------thank you!!), there might be some clarification. However, in an effort to "stop the madness", I'll simply say that, knowing how our beloved Tinka enjoys her early morning MS mail, I sent her the following:
**************************
From: Bon'O
Date: Jul 10, 2008 9:23 AM
Subject: Good Mornin'!
Just popping in to say 'Hello, Have a great day!'
and congrats on half of the first 80 comments. What a busy girl!
hugs,
b~
************************
It was intended as a simple, warm greeting and not unlike many nest posts I've seen congratulating one owl or another on #1 through 10, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 24, 25, etc. Based on the loving reply I got from Tinka, I was quite confident that she read it that way as well.
So, there it is. Maybe posts and messages are a bit like BarbWA's definition of RAINBOWS, above..."optical illusions ...depending upon where a person is standing".
Wishing ALL a wonderful weekend!
Good for you Bon! I am proud of you for jumping up and saying it was you and making sure the others realized that you weren't attacking Tinka for her posts yesterday.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about leaving 100 again, but that really fizzled last time... so I took it.
ReplyDeleteOk break time again! LOL
ReplyDeleteBarbWA: Thank you for the instructions. It read like this to me push the @$%^& then upload the %^&*%^ and the scroll to #$$%^#%^ and then you can view the photo. When you add to your contact list @^&%$ then ^&*(&^% now you have added a new person! ROFLMAO I am horrible at written directions. I generally will play with it or just put it together. The funny thing is I usually have left over parts.
Shirley I am so sorry about your friend that is horrible. Sending you big hugs!!
Tina: All I can say is ohhhhh Fuck! I am feeling your pain here in WA!
Glynis: ROFLMAO checking out Big Brother in church!!!
Bon: Thank you for your confession. Good to know that it was not a criticism. Just a friend being friendly.
Now everybody let the tedium continue!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Lynn D just suggested we set up the tent for the grandsons. I bought them their own cute little camo sleeping bags yesterday. We have a little fire pit and we figure they can roast hot dogs too. What fun right????
Hmmmm I asked him who would be sleeping outside with them. Well let me just say I hear crickets....Hello they are not that big yet that we can leave them outside. I know and still remember how it was when our kids were little and they came in about 50 times in the middle of the night!
We shall see how this plays out.
Crap I missed the march because I was leaving a long ass post again!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Glynis!
DawnNaughtyCroc
ReplyDeleteCongrats on #1. I remember you.:0) You love Crocodile Hunter if I recall correctly.
We just had the most beautiful rainbow a couple days ago. I captured some photos of it.
I didn't see yesterdays blog.I'll go take a peek and see if Pink Tink really had the energy to run a marathon. If so, way to go! You guys always have more stamina than me!
Before I dash off for the week end I will leave....
iced Toddys & Crumpettes!
lynn, bon and g.....
ReplyDeleteYou guys crack me up.
bon...i really love what you said about some posts being interpretted differently depending on where you stand, or basically how you look at it. We're all friends here and that's why I love it!!!!!
g....TAKE THAT 100! YOU EARNED IT! LOL!!!!
holy crap!!! i just saw this on yahoo news.
ReplyDeletein regards to lightning:
lightning will usually travel through the wiring or the plumbing into the ground. That means stay away from showers, sinks, hot tubs and electronic equipment such as TVs, radios and computers.
SHOWERS AND SINKS????? I HAD NO IDEA!!!!!!
What a nice surprise, I got to talk to two sweet bloggers today Jodi & SacBarb. I think Mr Mary has finally decided that none of you(owls) are ax murderers lol!!
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I mentioned someone in the nest, he would roll his eyes and look a little concerned. Now he gets a big kick out of all of you. I can't wait to meet you at the BABB!
Carol, what a nice subject today. I love rainbows! There is something about them that makes everything seem fresh and hopeful.
Tina~ Somehow I got the idea that you were "into" pain lol! Honestly, I do feel for you on the root canal! Let me know if you need someone to hold your hand!....
I'll try to find someone bwah ha ha!
Tinka, I think a lot of things taste different now-a-days. One thing I notice for sure are tomatoes. There used to be a distinct smell and taste that was wonderful! Now not so good with all the hybrids.
MEK,On your ringer.. just change the ring tone.
go to "sounds & settings"pick "call sounds" then to "call ringtone" ,pick a sound that is loud for you. If you want to hear the sound first, just find the icon that says "play" ever ytime you want to hear a dif. tone, then pick "set" or the "ok"button.
Mary - thanks for the advice - but I have chosen the LOUDEST of all the rings!! My neighbor has the same phone and she was complaining about how NOT loud they were..
ReplyDeleteI look forward to meeting you at the BBQ also!!
Bono - (((hugs)))
Shirley - I am so sorry to hear about your friend.
I'm off to do some VFW banking, before they think I have absconded with their money! I am bonded anyway. I told them once that if I was going to jail for stealing, that it would be for a lot more than a couple thousand dollars lol!
ReplyDeleteLater....
BonO,
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining what happened! Your email to Tinka seems like a friendly Hello to me so I'm sorry if my post or others made you feel bad about it. {{Hugs}}
Mary: I'm totally jazzed that you're coming to the BABB! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIs Mr Mary/MI coming too? That would be good, since he and Huz could roll their eyes with each other!
Sounds like Mr Mary/MI is further down the acceptance road than Huz, though! :)
Oh good lord, Bear is "jazzed ".
ReplyDeleteBono, doesn't look like you did anything wrong...
I am sorry if I started something this morning. Before Bonnie told me I had posted 40 out of 80 times yesterday morning, I had already been thinking that I was posting too often. If you will check my post at 9:45 you will see it said "I thought that it was obsessive and I was putting the owl on "time out". The day Sheila and I went to tea I knew I had posted a lot. I clicked on 'find' and printed in 'Tinka' and the number came up 95 times. I went "Yikes". I wrote to a couple of friends and told them about that number and said I was going to stop posting so much in the morning. When Bonnie wrote me I thought she was kindly giving me the hint that maybe she thought that way too. I did not mean any criticism of her. I told the blog that my owl would not be posting as often and he won't. I agree, "there is such a thing as moderation". Have a good day all owls. I will be back on in the morning.
ReplyDeleteLove, Tinka
Moderation-
ReplyDeleteI wish I could apply that to food.
I have not conquered moderation with food, but I have with money.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I have been doing so good with our budget that it makes us feel proud.
Just took a walk outside and it was sooooo humid.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the new extreme cheese Pringles?
ReplyDeleteThey are good, but the taste stays in your mouth forever.
hey does anyone remember

My husband had a job interview on the phone today. He passed round one. We will see what happens in round two.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many pounds I have to lose before I get to the next size.
ReplyDeleteJ/L how is the visit going with your brother?
ReplyDeleteCan you believe that in 38 more days I go back to school?
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you guys that I am going to do a camping theme this year in my classroom?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have a tent in my classroom along with sleeping bags. I 'm going to read my stories from a lawnchair.
I have been having so much fun planning it.
Oh, shoot , hubby want to use to the computer.
ReplyDeleteI will be back later.
I love you guys so much!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you guys are my only link to the outside world due to the fact that I'm held captive in my house by children.
Mother Nature is delivering way too much stuff besides rainbows today!
ReplyDeleteI just got a call from my son- they have the ambulances on standby for the storm about to hit- golf ball size hail, 70+ winds, tornados probable and god knows what else. My grandbabies and their mamma are in the basement, my son is at the hospital, and I am waiting for them to call when it passes. OY
We are supposed to get this crap again tonight too- like from 11 to 4 am. It is going to be a long night...... I hope everyone is safe everywhere- hang on to your hats kids.
Bono- I totally believe you said it in the friendliest of ways :)
Mary- I am jealous you get to go to the BBQ.
iteach, i remember him!!! red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet! Right??
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed for your hubby.
Your camp theme sounds awesome! The kids will love that.
Sniggle Friggin sumbitch! Mr. Lynn D just walked through my white tile floors that I just bleached mopped and he left mud tracks every freakin where!!! I completely freakin give up!!!! I have said lately how much I (excuse me) fucking hate housework!
ReplyDeleteDid he freaking notice hell no!!!
Tantrum somewhat over.
Oh and did I say as God is my witness the next pet I get is going to be bald!!
ReplyDeletelynn- was Mr. Lynn the pet you are speaking Of?
ReplyDeleteI always say the from the amount of hair I vacuum up that Pepper should be a mexican hairless by now.
Ok I am calmer now!
ReplyDeleteMary tell Mr. Mary I would never ax murder anyone! Well unless they walk across just mopped white tile floors and have ample life insurance.
Iteach: Sending good luck to Mr. Iteach!!! Crossing my fingers and eyes for him.
Hmmm a camping theme I will be on the look out for camping theme books!
Goldie stay inside and stay away from faucets, tubs, telephone lines....oh hell it is easier to tell you to sit in the middle of the room and don't touch a damn thing!
Lynn and Goldie, I would say that's why I love my standard poodles but the fact is I'm always vacuuming, too, because they bring all kinds of grass, straw and everything else inside on their little curly coats.
ReplyDeleteSandie so you see my logic a bald dog that wears removable slippers is the perfect pet!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Yes, Lynn, I do!!! Makes perfect sense to me. And, I'll bet those little slippers would be so cute! Now, if he can clean up his own poop . . .
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI did not read comments yet, however I shall in a bit!
I was busy at work today, thank goodness, as it has been slow, and when I get slow I go into panic mode. I always have a cushion, as I save thru out the year. It is tough at times owning your own business, so today was good day!
naughtycroc:
Good to see ya! Glad you stopped by! Congrats on first...
I'm off to dinner with my hubby and my parents.
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening everyone!
Carol, so good to hear that you had a productive day at work!
ReplyDeleteHave a good dinner Sandie!
ReplyDeleteLynn, I'm having a problem with a dog too.
ReplyDeleteIt keeps coming into my yard and pooping.
I forgot to tell Ms. Naughtycroc, yeah for being first!
ReplyDeleteOff to make spaghetti!
ReplyDeleteHmmm LYNND: I don't think I would be a sweet as you are about your clean floors being messed up. I am kind of a bitch sometimes!! (I know-hard to believe) :)
ReplyDeleteNAUGHTYCROC: Congrats on being first. I haven't seen a post from you in a long time.
TINK: Have you grounded you innocent little girl yet? I haven't seen her out playing here so maybe she is on the naughty mat!! She was leading all of us astray last night! Good thing you are going to have that new computer to watch her during the late hours. It will save a lot of bail money for everyone!
TINA: Boy, sorry about your tooth. Will it feel okay from now to your vacation is over? I hope so or KGIRL better get her pliers ready with some shots!!
CAROL: I love love rainbows. I think they are real and whoever mentioned it was mother nature smiling at us...I love that description. We have a lot of them in Colorado and sometimes the double ones. My granddaughter has her room painted in rainbow colors!
Iteach - enjoy your spagetti - we just got home from late lunch/early dinner at Olive Garden - I decided to get lasagna instead of my standard chicken salad and Mr. Mek got spagetti!! YUMMY!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone had an excellent day!!
:-)
Dianne - I haven't heard from my daughter yet today. I have a feeling you night owls wore her completely out. Yes I ordered the Mac Book. It will be here in 3 days. I will then be able to monitor her and all the other owls throughout the night without getting up and coming down stairs. I felt it was worth the money to be able to monitor her easily.
ReplyDelete145
ReplyDeleteShirley - You are so right. Orange popsicles used to taste like orange crush. You could suck on them and get the pop out of them until they were white. You can't do that anymore. I wonder why? They were so good.
ReplyDeleteWell the daughter just called and they decided to come tomorrow. I have to say I am a little relieved as I am exhausted from cleaning and will need all of my strength with the boys! LOL
ReplyDeleteDianne I'm a bitch in Denver: Who you? never! LOL I can be too but try to hold it in reserve for when I really need the big guns!
MEK nummy I want Olive Garden!
Hi Carol sounds like you had a productive day! Yay
Iteach you could send some pasta my way that sounds good too. I think I'm hungry.
Ok off to the showers for me and I think I will lay down and veg.

ReplyDeletethe thunder is rolling in the sky and the rain is starting to fall.
ReplyDeletegotta shut down for now!!
:-)
You owls with storms brewing better not be reading this! Please be safe and let us know when all is clear!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty quiet here. I just noticed a beautiful spotted fawn in our yard. So pretty with the green foliage around it.
I am watching Ghost Whisperer. I'll be back....
naughtycroc Hey, good to see you. Congrats on #1!
ReplyDeleteCarol Lovely blog today. Rainbows always seem so hopeful. Aren't they caused by light being refracted through the moisture in the air, like light going through a prism?
LynnD Fish are bald but then you have to clean their tanks. Yuk!
iteach Your camping theme sounds so fun for the kids. They sure are lucky to have a creative and caring teacher like you. I made spaghetti last night and have leftovers for tonight. Yipee!
Tinka Of course we all love your little brown owl and the more we see him/her, the better. (((HUGS)))
BonO Of course we all know you would never be critical of the cute little brown owl. (((HUGS)))
Shirley How shocking about your friend collapsing like that. (((HUGS)))
Tina You said that dirty word, DENTIST!!!! And more dirty words, ROOT CANAL!!!! Oh, I hate going to the dentist and I really feel for you. I hope this doesn't interfere with your enjoyment of your vacation.
To all the owls and their families that are caught in bad weather: Hope you stay safe and many (((HUGS))) to you.
Hello Hooters~
ReplyDeleteWe seem to have rainbows almost every day her in Hawaii, and they never cease to amaze.
Tina: Like I said the other night, PLIERS are ready and waiting, tho I think you would rather visit my dentist...lol.
Got my new Instinct phone today from Sprint. Glad I went this route, cause I hear the iPhone network had a melt down earlier today.
K-Girl - I heard that the line-ups for iphones today here in Victoria started at 5 a.m. By the time the stores opened all the systems had crashed. My friend said she waited 7 hours for her phone. People who got in the store when it opened did not get through the line up and leave with their phones until 3 p.m. My friend however was very happy with her iphone. I think I will wait awhile yet.
ReplyDeleteNow I know I'm old.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here trying to catch up on Carolyn's baby book.
On one of the pages it asks "What were the popular songs when she was born".
So I googled the top ten songs of November 2006 and I did not recognize any of them!
I have been out of touch with popular songs for such a long time.
ReplyDeleteDreama-
ReplyDeletePlease keep serving Toddys and Crumpettes out of the nest.
We have been on our best behavior in here that can be kept in the other blog.
Thank you
It seems my town had canceled our firework display on the 4th because of bad weather, I did not realize it as I was at the shore. I am sitting here ready to post a comment and I hear boom, boom, boom, I went out on our deck and I got to see the most beautiful fire work display, and all from the comfort of my home. The town field is about five blocks from me so the view was great.
ReplyDeleteFun!
What a neat way to end the day!
ReplyDeleteLynn D:
ReplyDeleteI throw tantrums 24/7...So having your tantrum was fine with me, as and least I know I am not the only one..
iteach:
Many good thoughts coming your way for you and your hubby, fingers and toes crossed
Shirley:
Geez sorry about your friend...
Iteach:
ReplyDeleteHi! Yes is was so fun! We had a tree cut down this year, so the view was fantastic, I did not realize how that big ole tree, blocked the view so much...
For some reason bees kept nested in the tree, no matter what we did, the bees nest would come back every year..
So the decision was made to cut the tree down...
The only problem is shade, we don't get much of it, However we are looking into a retrackable awning.. I think I spelled retrackable wrong!
Hmmm.. How do you spell retrackable?
ReplyDeleteor is it even a word?
Tinka:
ReplyDeletePosting as many comments as one wants is fine with me. No need to count just comment away!
Bon:
I took your e-mail as you stated, No worries.. :O)
Glynis:
Take it from me, I always hear crickets.. :O)
night.owls.sb - Good Evening.
ReplyDeleteJust change the 'k' to a 't' and "retractable" will be perfect.
The fireworks sounded great. I can just barely see the top of the fireworks if I stay home. Sometimes it is worth it to stay home because the traffic after the fireworks is horrific.
Carol - I guess I am a morning person and I get too chatty in the morning. When I scroll down and see my little owl so many times it's a little embarrassing. Thank you anyway for saying that.
ReplyDelete167
ReplyDelete168 I am leaving the next one open K-Girl.
ReplyDeleteShirely and Tinka:
ReplyDeleteI love orange popsicles!
Just_Lin:
Yes, you are correct, I read up about them today, and they are a reflection from the water...And yes again, they just seem to bring hope!
Mek:
How is the wii going? :O)
Ahhh... Retractable!
