why is life such a mystery, why is it we just
don't know what tomorrow will bring, if you
read a mystery novel and are anxious to see
the "who done it" who can just go to the
last chapter, and its all there in black and white,
the mystery is solved, the "who done it" is now
known, and your mind is at ease, you are now
prepared, you can know think clear thru the rest
of the book and can "react" accordingly
as we wake each new day, we wake thinking the
day will be as any other, as the day's goes on
the mystery starts to happen, whatever the mystery
is, we just roll with it, not really thinking about it,
we are just doing what our mind has taught us to do
"react" the problem is we react without really
thinking, because we were not prepared, there was
no script, no instructions, no advance notice
i know it is impossible to know what tomorrow will
bring, however, how much easier would it be to know,
to be prepared, to think it thru, before the reaction
thoughts will be in order, and the mind set is ready
when i find myself, in a unknown mystery, i do the
same, i just react to later think, why did i do that?
the question will reel in my mind, for hours into days
and i know if i was prepared i would have not reacted
that way, if only i had that script!
but this is not to be, the mysteries of life will continue
daily, and we will react no matter what the mystery is
i can only hope in my daily life lessons, that i learn from
my "why did i do that" and take this lesson and store it
for future use
it is i who always says "learn as you go" for life has no
script, no instructions, as times its a crap shoot and one
has to hope you get that lucky 7
the mysteries will continue as each new day forms
as we can't go to the last chapter
to see "who done it" i guess that is why
life is a mystery with a unknown ending

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst??!!
Second!!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to hit the rain room.
I will be back later at lunch, I have a busy day.
My carefree, lazy days are almost over.
Carol, Well....In answer to your question about being eaten, Well, let's just say some Owl's have tried.
ReplyDeleteOne Owl ate my "ODD" Aunt and another had a relative in her Freezer!!!! Can you believe it??
Soooo, I had to go into hiding for awhile! I won't name name's here, but you two know who you are!!!
Right, Bon'O and J/L???? LOL
Really though, I was just taking some Me time and yesterday I went over to my mothers for awhile.
This HUMIDITY is making me tired!!
So, I spend time outside early, before it gets too hot.
Good morning Iteach!
ReplyDeleteGood morning and congrat's on 1st Birdee! You will be happy to know I have none of your relatives in my freezer. I have pork (sorry Maureen), but no chicken.
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteBirdee got first! Tweet Tweet!
Interesting blog Carol. I always think life is like an unwritten book.
My book has many chapters now but is far from finished. I can always feel when there is a chapter ending on the horizon and it helps me when it is at that point to say "Well that is the end of that chapter". I turn the page and try to move on.
Some of the same issues apply as you really don't know what is going to happen in the chapters to come, and it can be scary and tension filled at times.
Just like when I am reading a book I never read the ending first. I savor the whole thing to wait to see if at the end it was satisfying.
I am rambling. LOL
Iteach have fun working on your classroom! Thanks for the shout out about my friend. She is doing much better!
Birdee trying being an M&M! I have asked all of them to not eat the green ones.
Shirley it looks like you have made it through the storms! Glad to see you back and posting.
Will be back in a bit.
Good Morning Birdee - Little early bird who is first again.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Iteach who came in second today. Nice try.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn D and good morning. I like it when you ramble.
ReplyDeleteYes I made it through the night. I stayed up until 1:30. The power kept going off for a couple minutes then it would come back on. But by 1:30 it had stayed on for half an hour so I figured I would take a chance and go to bed. We are suppose to get possible thunder "showers" today too.
Good Morning Shirley and Lynn - I posted to you already but it flew into cyberspace. I will try again.
ReplyDeleteI will be right back. I don't think this Mac Book likes posting in my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning to all!
ReplyDeleteBirdee:
Ha.. You were first, and to think I thought you would be limping today, as I had Drumettes for dinner last nite... Geez you are resilient!
iteach:
Enjoy your busy day
Shirley:
My, what have you done to yourself,
so very trendy! I love the scarf
Lynn D:
Hello....
Tinka
Hello to you as well....
And anyone after this...
Howdy....
Shirley:
ReplyDeleteI am hungry :O)
Shirley:
ReplyDeleteOops, to worried about my tummy growling... Glad you made it thru the storms..
Birdee:
ReplyDeleteMe time is the best, I had some last week, and it really does help...
:O)
My Bio......
ReplyDeleteI'm 52, married for 28yrs. This is my 2nd marriage. The first "lasted" 5 yrs. I have a son and daughter from the first marriage. I was a very young mom. Had my son 2 mos. after I turned 18and 1 mo. after I graduated. Daughter came 2 yrs. later. After she was born, I discovered this thing called Birth Control.
I worked for almost 20 yrs. for one of the three credit reporting agencies, also worked as a cleaning lady, so I had 3 job's for awhile. I'd work all day in the office then do my 2 cleaning job's. This was after my divorce from hubby #1.
I have 3 g-daughter's. My son has 2
girls and live's in MI.. My daughter has 1 and live's about 15 mins from me.
I did go through major depression in 2000, which I now believe was caused by early menopause, (very screwed up hormone's) but, I'm doing ok now. That was when I stopped working. So, now I'm thinking of looking for a part time job. I have 3 dog's.
Mr. B work's for a major supermarket here in computor support.
For the last year we've been doing home improvements, which right now has come to a stop. I think Mr. B is burned out. But, not to worry, I'm on his butt pretty regularly to get it done.
A nephew passed away in Jan '05 and my Dad in Dec. '05. I have 3 sister's and 2 brother's. I have 9niece's and nephew's.
I'm Hungarian and I can have a pretty big mouth and a stubborn streak. I get that from my dad.
Oh....I love, love to play practical joke's and be a smart ass sometime's. But only in FUN!!! My younger sister has this trait too, so we have alot of fun together.
I think's that's all I have for now. Oh, I do have a very nice side..whenever someone is going through a rough time, I do open my home and let them stay here until they can sort out what they need to.
Well, it's storming here and the dog's are restless, so I should tend to them for a bit.
I'll try to stop in later. I hope we don't lose power!!
♥♥
Shirley, Hi! Thank's for saving a chicken! ;o)
ReplyDeleteCarol, I was wondering why my leg's were a bit sore last night! bwahahaha!!!

GOOD MORNING HOOTERS!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Birdee
Sorry to hear that they are eating your kinfolf again....
Just getting caught up- my bio:
48yrs 11 months old, Full blooded German, blonde, blue eyed and 5'10
born in Chicago, moved to Germany, then to WI where I still am.
Married to Mr. Goldie for 25 years and we were together a couple of years before that. Have 2 sons and 2 grandbabies (this you all know because I don't shut up about them). I too was a very young Mom- 10 days after my 20th birthday. I am also the proud 'Mommy' to Pepper my black Lab.
I have one sister and one brother. My mom is living and is well and currently galavanting around Germany for the summer. My dad passed away in 1996.
I love to read, golf, hang out with Mr. Goldie and family and friends. My best female friend is my SIL. We have known each other for 28 years and have never had a fight. (yet)LOL
I work for my husband and his partners financial firm about 30 hours a week. I am also the bookkeeper for my husbands second business which is training people in self-defense, hand to hand combat.
Okey dokey, that should cover it- I really enjoyed reading everyones bio from yesterday.
I hope you all have a great day! I am still basking in the bliss of my weekend with the grandbabies- it turned out to be everything I hoped for and more! :)
SHirley- LMAO about the shoes!!!! I love the scarf and shoes by the way. It does look a little like the red one that got stuck up you know who's ass....
ReplyDeleteBirdee - If you get the feeling that you are not safe in America because some owls are starting to eat chickens, come to Canada. We have a law against that. You can live in my 'collector's room'. All my dalmatians will protect you there.
ReplyDeleteIteach - I so remember those busy days of August. The only difference is you start working earlier than I did.
Good Morning Goldie - I enjoyed both yours and Birdee's bio's this morning. There are still a few I have to read from area 51.
ReplyDeleteSo Tinka, what are your plans for the day? My friends are suppose to take me out for coffee tonight but I have all day to come up with an excuse. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteGoldie are you going to tell us about your weekend?
Lynn D I don't eat M&Ms either...just so you know (well I wouldn't admit to it here anyway).
Good morning owls!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first, birdee!
I am still enjoying everyone's bios! Keep them coming!
Carol, ty for the blog yesterday and today.
I like thinking of life as a chapter in a book. I am so much more dramatic than that. lol
When both my parents died, I referred to it as the end of an "era".
I also had 2 dauschunds at the same time. When both died I referred to it as the end of the doxie "era".
I told you I was more dramatic than that lol.
Maybe now I will start saying the end of a chapter in a book.
Shirley, ty for breakfast, glad you are safe.
Good morning Tinka, goldie, lynnd, iteach, and all you wonderful owls!
Today is a big day here. There is a lot of celebration going on in the city. Sarah McLachlan is having a free concert tonight along with others I don't know but the young kids love.
ReplyDeleteBigger still in our house, it is my Daughter's birthday. She is 40 today and feels like she is old. She will always be a baby to me. Tango is 11 today. I don't like the fact that my 'fur baby' is aging. I want her to live to be old, old dog. So we have a lot of celebrating to do. My son and little baby will be here for the day while my DIL is working. It sounds like a great day to me. Last night I took my daughter and her family out to dinner. It was my chance to celebrate with them alone. Today there will be a lot of family and friends around. I want to get the "Handy Dart" to bring my mom here for the day. All in all I won't have much chance to be on the computer. Have a great day everyone. I am off to give my birthday 'fur baby' a lot of attention and get pictures of her before anyone else arrives.
Good Morning Grandma Moses - You flew in while I was typing. I didn't want to think I had missed wishing you a Great Day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!!
ReplyDeleteI was awakened with a phone call at7:20 a.m. - eye doctor with a cancelation for tomorrow!! goodness... (but this has been on my list for over two years and I'm finally getting around to doing it)....
Good Morning -
Birdee - congrats on FIRST..
Iteach - SECOND!!! sorry your lazy days are almost over..
:-(
Shirley - good to see you back..
Lynn D - i promise - I don't eat the green ones!!
waving to Birdee, Iteach, Shirley, Lynn D, Tinka, cpgem, Goldie, and Grandma Moses.. and anyone else that flies in..
cpgem - great blog today!!
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
Tinka, happy birthday to your daughter and your fur baby!!
ReplyDeleteShirley - glad you survived your storm -
ReplyDeletewe had one that lasted FOREVER last night - sounded like the heavens were bowling and they had every street light in the world lite up...

ReplyDelete40
ReplyDeleteTink- Enjoy your day, and do not forget that this is your celebration too- you were the one who gave birth! When Brynn and Gavin where born, Mr. Goldie sent me flowers-said if I hadn't had their father, there would be no B & G.
ReplyDeleteShirley- it was better then I hoped it would be. The weather was great, and we were outside all the time. Friday we played, had ice cream and went down the slide 700 times!!!!!!!!!!! On Saturday we Took them 'swimming' to the beach and they had a blast. Brynn especially, Gavin played in the sand with Papa and Brynn and I were in the water most of the time. The parents left at 3 to go to the races, so after the beach we went back to the camper, and they got into the kiddie pool we put up. They played and then we took baths, went down to the campstore and had dinner (grilled cheese, pickles and fries).
Brynn and I shopped - she picked out a toy for her and one for her brother and a tee shirt for each. Then we went back to the camper, got the wagon and the dog and headed down again for ice cream. Then we snuggled in bed and read books and they zonked about 8:30. It doesnt' get better than that!! Not one single whine they whole day.
Yesterday my brother and family came up and we had a cookout and everyone headed out about 4 pm.
sorry you asked??? LOL- It was perfect, perfect, perfect. Probably never again happen that way, so grateful it did.
Good morning, owls!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first, Birdee! I loved your bio--you're quite a chicken!
iteach, good luck getting your classroom in order!
Shirley! So glad you made it through the storms safely and are back in the nest! Thanks for breakfast. Love your scarf and red high heels! You should be singing that Kellie Pickler song!
Lynn, I understood your rambling just fine--it made perfect sense to me.
Good morning, Tinka! I hope your day is fabulous!! Please say happy birthday to your daughter and tell her she is still young!! Also, give Tango a big birthday hug from me.
Hi Carol!!
Goldie, so glad you had a good time with your grandkids. You sound like a fun grandma.
Grandma Moses, glad you're now in the "owl era" with us!
Have a great day everyone!
Oops, MEK flew in! Hi MEK!
ReplyDeleteNo Goldie I'm not sorry I asked. I love hearing what everyone does with their children or grandchildren. There is nothing better than seeing a child smile and knowing you helped make it happen. Carry on Grandma!!

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owls!
ReplyDeleteWTG Early Birdy Birdee.
Shirley GREAT to see u back!!Ty for breaky.
Carol,interesting blog a real thinker. Thanks :o)
One of my biggest fears is I will not learn the lesson from the situation.
So I tend to over analyze.
I ask myself over n over again, "Am I going to react or respond?" The two are very different.
My Bio:
I am a crazy canuck.
Born, raised and live in Cambridge Ontario.
I become a "red hatter"(50)
in November.
I am married to my soul mate.Mr Lovey and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this year.
We have no kiddies,but have been blessed with 2 bichon frise babies, Lacey n Dory.
Cancer started a war with me when I was 26 yrs old and I'm still winning.
I have a brother and a sister.
I have been stuck in the house for 3 1/2 yrs, due to a back injury that caused nerve damage to my left side.
I have regained my mobility and independence.
My lesson was to ask for help instead of doing it myself ALL the friggin time.
I LOVE 2 LAUGH
I love tequila, but after the other day, I think I'm gonna break up with that bottle. hehe..
Good Morning! I am at my daughter's house trying to stay quiet so she can do her job. I brought lots of paper work to do but thought I would spend some time on the computer. Just a quick update that one of the doctors called her at 6:30AM and told her the reports were not in yet, so that clarified the Friday phone calls.
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY: Thanks so much for breakfast. I am not used to being up and on the road this early so I am starving. I think it is almost time for the gingerbread pancakes again!! Your new shoes and scarf are quite beautiful. Try to keep these shoes on your feet and not in anyone's "bottom"! Also SHIRLEY, no execuses...go with your friends. You will have fun. I will be waiting to hear all about it tonight.
TINK: What a nice day you haved planned. I don't remember you having your mom brought over to your house. Have you done this before? I am sure she will love getting out for the day. My daughter will be 40 in October..how did our kids get so darn old?
HI MEK: Boy, you don't hear of places calling with a cancellation very often. You are marching early. I may be up and moving but too early to "exercise-march" with you.
BIRDEE: I have bad news....I ate wings and drumetts yesterday! Actually, quite a few were eaten. I hope they were no relation..they were not hot and very juicy and yummy...know them?
Contiued...
(((( Dianne)))))Sending sunshine your way today.xox
ReplyDeleteBig hugs n love to MIA Owls.
Thinking of you and hope you fly back to the nest soon.
I have Elvis in my hand &
Cherry baby and I are off to cruise in the sunshine.
Track 1,"A Little Less Conversation" heheh weeeee and away I goooooooo!!!
Wishing all Owls a fantastic day!!!
xox
Dianne - waiting anxiously - in Denver... still sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and your daughter!! Hope GOOD news comes soon...
ReplyDelete55
ReplyDeleteGoldie - so glad to read that your weekend was PERFECT!!! I knew it would be!!
ReplyDelete:-)
Hi Lovey and Dianne!
ReplyDeleteLovey I took a closer look at your avitar. Did you run over a tree? Be careful on the roads.
Dianne when the store closed that I use to work at, some of the employees decided to get together for coffee once a month, to stay in touch. That's what tonight is. I have fears about going but I don't know how to explain them so anyone would understand. I know it sounds stupid but well that's just me.
Part 2:
ReplyDeleteLOVEY: You would have loved those wings and legs we had yesterday. They we tequila and lime marinated. BTW, I love your new car!!
ITEACH: It seems like only yesterday you were counting the days to be out of school. Heck, I remember you counting the days to go back last year! It sounds like your room is going to fun. Maybe you can post some pictures.
GOLDIE: I love hearing grandkid stories. It does sound like you had the perfect weekend. Those babies never cease to bring a smile to your heart and face. I am so glad you had fun and it sounds like they are as perfect as my grandchildren :)
LYNND: I haven't seen your relatives for awhile. I think I will have to go to the store and see if any of them are hanging out there (not green of course).
Good Morning Grandma Moses and hope you have a nice day.
CAROL: Good blog. I would never read the end of a book before reading the book. I like mysteries so I love to try and guess the ending.
HI SANDIE: Loved the song you have picked out for SHIRLEY to sign with her new outfit!
Hello to anyone the comes by after me...
Oh birdee thank you I will hide under your wing! LOL
ReplyDeleteYay goldie is back and had a great time with the grandbabies! That sounded like the perfect weekend to me!
Hi MEK since you have returned some of my relatives I will take you at your word...well for now!
Dianne: Thank you for the update this will be on my mind all day. I am sending up more healing prayers.
Carol: Hello to you....
GM and I are obviously readers! LOL
Tinka it sounds like you are going to have a lovely family day!
Loverly: You always make me laugh! Wear a seat belt and put the pedal to the metal!
Shirley: I admire that you can wear those red heels! LOL I gave up heels because I look kind of silly at my size trying to balance on the width of a pencil for a heel! LMAO
I hope I did not miss anyone! Off to get some chores done for the day.
***goes in to kitchen to make special batch of gingerbread pancakes for Dianne-got-a-craving-in-Denver***
ReplyDeleteHere you go Dianne. Hot off the grill for you. You may have to share with Bon'O, cause I think she likes them too. Not sure if anyone else does.
Ok...for all you English people..I really do know how to spell continued!!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY; Your fears do not sound "stupid". I just would be happy to think your were getting to visit with old friends.
Yea SHIRLEY, THANK YOU!!! I am downing those pancakes quickly. BONO better hurry. Yum...look at all the butter and syrup I am using!! And SHIRLEY; in my earlier post regarding you, I was trying to talk about you singing the red high heeled song...not sign.
ReplyDeleteOWLS: I really can spell and the bad news is that I am previewing these before I post. I don't think my eyes are open all the way yet!
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Goldie your weekend with the babies sounds perfect. I was smiling while I read your post :)
Pinka happy birtday to your daughter. I love Sarah Mclachlan too!
Shirley love your sylin' new owl with the magenta high heels and trendy scarf!
Dianne lots of hugs and positive thoughts coming your way...
Hope everyone has a nice, calm day today!
Hart: From Area 51: yes, I loved the bookstore. I truly loved my job! I sometimes (more like a LOT) put my job before my family. A bad thing to do and a lesson that I learned. A job should never be treated like a favored child!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you shouldn't hesitate about applying, they really need people in outlying areas and they actually pay better! You may not get as many, but you will still probably have some opportunities. I did with my dad in Tennessee and he got new glasses from Walmart, for FREE!! It was nice.
Sandie (from Area 51) - Thanks! I can use the compliment. Although, I do *FEEL* old enough (to have the children that old!), if you know what I mean!
birdee: Congrats on first!
Hello: Birdee, iteach, Shirley, LynnD, tink, Carol, Goldie, Grandma Moses, Mek, EBJ, Dianne, Lovey, Sandie and anyone I may have missed. I am going to read the blog!
I hope everyone is having an outstanding Monday!
Carol, Great Blog! I actually thought a lot about that this weekend. On Saturday night a man was driving his car and got shot and killed. He was out celebrating for his birthday. He had just turned 31 years old.
ReplyDeletewww.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080804/NEWS01/808040430/1008/NEWS01
There is the article. His wife spoke on the news and she was saying how happy she was to have had the time she did with him. It really made me think about what would we do if we knew our time was about up? Would we be different? What set of circumstances all came together to end that man's life, for no obvious reason. Why does he only live to be 31 and I get to live until 15?
His wife said that he had a Charger and she believed it was mistaken identity because of his car.
Well, that is my thoughts on the blog, sorry for it being so heavy.
I LOVE That life is one of those things that you can wake up and never dream you will do something or have something happen and then it does. That is truly a special joy to me. I will understand if I am randomly taken away too, that comes with the randomness as well.
Okay, now off to read comments. Take care all!
LOL..I meant 45! Not 15!! Tink, I am not proofreading again!!
ReplyDeleteLOVEY-no brownies when you are driving- for god sakes it looks like you are driving in the damn tree!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone- thanks- it was the perfect weekend and I am positive it will never again happen in my lifetime. It just isn't possible to have a 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old be out of their element and be so good again.
Considering that Mr. Goldie is still hurting, he did remarkably well too. He only whined a little. LOL
Dianne- sending good thoughts!
Shirley- did you ever read Paula Deens story? She at one time didn't leave her house because of the panic attacks. One foot in front of the other and it will work itself out. Look how far you have come since you started blogging! You are awesome, you have so much to offer and I am happy you share with me. No ones fears are stupid- they are valid to you and that is what counts.
I hope you are able to enjoy a visit with old friends tonight, but if can't dont beat yourself up about it. ;)
MEK-you were right as always.
Tink: I hope you have an awesome day! I love Sarah McGlauphlin (Sp?). She is so awesome. I hope your daughter has a wonderful 40th! She is a lucky lady to have you as her mom!!! Tell her I said happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteBirdee: I am sorry Owls are eating your family.
Shirley: Lovely breakfast! The slimfast is great, I am starting a major diet and healthier living next week and will need the slimfast too! :) You are the best, so glad you are back!!!! *HUGS*!!
Hi Lovey, I can just picture you in cherry baby just-a-singin' away! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteDianne, love that song, too. Kellie Pickler is such a doll. Still praying for good news today!
Hi Bebbi!! I was telling the truth!
Goldie, Paula Deen's book is so good! She overcame so much to get where she is--I love her!
Okay, I need to get it together. I have a dental check up this afternoon. I don't usually mind going but I am an ice chewer (I know, very bad) and I've chipped off a piece of my crown. Hey, I can't feel it so I say leave well enough alone, right?? I'm sure that's not what the dentist will say . . . after he yells at me AGAIN for chewing ice.
See you owls later.
Hello Owls! I was up super early this morning, after going to bed super late, and there was no new blog every time I would check. So I went back to bed. I'm kind of rushing at the moment because I have to get ready to take my daughter to the eye doctor soon. She tore one of her contacts in two yesterday. Has that ever happened to any of you? She was so upset.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of eye docs...Gosh MEK! I didn't know any doctor's offices even worked that early!
Congrats on first Birdee!
Shirley: Glad to hear you're okay after the storms, and glad to hear you're going out tonight. Thanks for breakfast and the laugh about "Shoes for Hos". Sadly, I've been getting my shoes at the podiatrist lately. Nothing pretty or ho-ish about that! :(
Tinka: Happy b-day to your daughter and Tango! Have a wonderful day today!
Lovey: Glad to see you survived the tequila hangover. I was actually worried about you!
iteach: 16 more days and I go back to school. How much longer for you? I'm really trying not to be sad about it. Some people don't get 16 days a year off, and I've had all summer! Of course, I haven't had a paycheck all summer either. That bites!
Goldie: I loved reading about your perfect weekend. So happy to hear that!! But sorry to hear that your hubby is still in pain.
Carol: I am so glad that many of the chapters in MY book are over, if you know what I mean. And I really don't want to know what the end is like. I'll just wait.
Dianne: Continuing to pray for your daughter.
Thanks to those who are still sending in bios.
Gotta run now. Will be back later!
Hope you all have a great day!
Sandie: Congrats on 69! You didn't even realize it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBebbi: I'm definitely going to check out some of those mystery shopper links. Thanks again!
Good Morning Everyone!
ReplyDeleteCPGEM: I'm glad I don't know what tomorrow will bring..can you even imagine how much I would worry? I guess knowing wouldn't be too bad as long as everything that was going to happen that day was going to be good...but everyone knows that is not the way it would work. So I am content in stumbling and bumbling through each day..taking it as it comes.
One thing I wish I could stop doing is playing "coulda woulda shoulda". I do this to myself constantly, knowing full well I can't go back and change the past. Now THAT would be a wonderful thing to be able to do, wouldn't it??? To get a "do over"?? I wonder how many of those I'd grab if I had the opportunity!!
Thought provoking blog today, thank you CPGEM!
Shirley, I like your new owl!
ReplyDeleteBirdee congrats on first!!
ReplyDeleteGoldie, I'm so glad your weekend went well with the grandbabies!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Tink's daughter and furbaby.
ReplyDeleteMy stepdaughter's birthday is today, nine!!!! Her dad and I started dating when she was 13 months, I can't believe she is nine already.
It was only yesterday when I threw up after changing my first dirty diaper with her.
MEK and Shirley I woke up to a storm too!
ReplyDeleteI have more comments, but I have to go!!!!
ReplyDeleteBBL
HART: Who am I?? I was born in PA, but moved to Arizona when I was a kid. I'm still not use to the heat and complain A LOT about it. In the winter I'll gloat about our warm weather a little and start to tease BON'O, GOLDIE, JODI, TINK, VIG, TINA, MARY, DIANNE...well just about everyone, with daily temp updates. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Leo..but don't think I act like one..I think it's because if I would have been born three hours later, I would have been a Virgo..I'm on the cusp and don't know which way to turn. ;)
I'm half Russian, on my mom's side and Irish and German on my dad's. I have an older brother who I haven't seen in 17 years and a younger sister that I love to death. My dad passed away in 1991, and my mom in 2005. I tend to talk a lot about my mom. I was her caregiver for the last ten years of her life and though she could be a handful, I adored her.
I love music and reading..but can't listen to music and read at the same time. I think I get too involved...;).
I've been married for 24 years to a very sweet and kind guy. We have no children. We do have an over affectionate dog named Nikki..who just loves other owls!
Hmmmm...what else...I am incredibly loyal to my friends...and would move heaven and earth to help them. I hate to see people hurting, and if I think I'm the cause of the hurt I become almost non-functional.
I think that'll do it for now. Oh I forgot...we have a car with Remote Start...and a pool..these both prove to be marvelous things!! ;)
Off to read today's posts....
BIRDEE: Congrats on FIRST!! I hate to add to your misery..but Mr Z had chicken strips for dinner. I'm afraid you are an incredibly popular bird. Wait...chicken strips..there's a joke in there. ;)
ReplyDeleteITEACH: Rain room?? I think I've missed something. I wanted to ask if you still need things for your class this year???
LYNND: I hate to admit this..but there are times I can't take it, and peek at the end of the book. I'm just awful that way.
SHIRLEY: I'm glad you were able to get some sleep. I hope tonight proves quieter for you. Thanks for breakfast...but I miss my Hungryforaman dinners..in case you see them on sale. ;)
TINKA: HAPPY HAPPY DAY to you!! How much fun are you going to have!?? Take lots of pictures! Happy Birthday to your daughter and to Tango..oh to be 40...or 11 again!! {{HUGS}}
VIG: Blueberries and peaches anyone??
GOLDIE: I turned the light off on my way in...thank you. Glad to see you had a wonderful time with the grandbabies. 700 times down the slide...WOW!
LOVEY: Oh I LOVE to over analyze...I wish I didn't.
DIANNE: Praying for your daughter with every ounce of faith I've got!
Waving to all and I hope everyone has a great day!!
P/S Did I mention that it's HOT here???
Just time to make a quick fly-by on my way to see Mr Mary in a slot tournament.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. on 1st birdee! lol @ your "foul" eating friends!
Goldie~ Your family get-to-gether sounds wonderful!
I miss you all & wish I had time to comment on your eloquent post Carol.
I won over $1,000 early this morning. Mr tax man may be watching so I won't say exactly how much lol! I won it on a table game called "let-it-ride. I got 4-of-a-kind & a 5 card flush which pays pretty dam good! Mr Mary & I went to see the Jersey Boys last night. This was my 2nd time. Love,love, loved it!!
Have a great week all!!
Great blog Carol. I am skimming really quickly.
ReplyDeleteBirdie
Congrats on first!
Goldie & Zonababy
That is neat that you have German heritage. Zona I hope that some day you can visit your roots if you have not already done so. Germany is awesome and has some wonderful old castles and some splendid old beautiful cathedrals, etc.
BBL owls!
Keep an eye on Eduaord! It is still predicted to become a CAT 1 hurricane and possibly hit Houston.
Carol your TOTD has made me think, which isn't always a good thing when you are a person who lives alone and thinks too much already. I wake up wondering if today is the day I will make the changes in my life I know I need to make. Sadly the days go by and I don't make thoses changes. The thoughts are there but the drive isn't. If the "chapters" of my life were put into a book the only place you would be able to buy it would be the marked down bin.
ReplyDeleteI am not a spur of the moment type person. I need to know where I'm going. I don't like surprises. I don't handle them well. OK that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Good afternoon Hartldo, Iteach, Dreama, Zona and Mary (I won't tell the tax man, promise! Lol!).

ReplyDeleteHello again...my daughter received a call from one of the doctors telling her that the biopsies have come back negative for breast cancer or lmphyoma. She then cautioned her that these were small biopsies and that she now needs to go see an oncologist as she will probably want to do a surgical biopsy to be sure and that she is "not out of the woods yet."
ReplyDeleteWe are feeling good about these results and as my daughter said, "on to the next part of the journey." She has a call into the oncologist so just waiting to see how long it will take to get in there now..
Zona!! SWAK!
ReplyDeleteMary, I love Let it Ride! I won 5000.00 on it once. Had the straight flush with a 5 dollar bet on all 3 and the dollar bonus. Score!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on winning. Oh, and if memory serves me, if you had a 4 of a kind with a 5 dollar bet and the dollar bonus, it was about 800 I think.... so I'm going with you had more then 5 on bet???? LOL
birdee, I have a confession. When I said we took the babies to dinner and had grilled cheese- well they had grilled cheese- Mr. Goldie and I had chicken strips...... sorry
iteach- LOL about you puking after changing that first diaper. Happy birthday to your step-daughter. Happy birthday to Tinks daughter too and her furbaby!!
Dianne- great news!! Keeping fingers crossed that all turns out well in the long run for her.

Back to chores for me!
Goldie,the limit here is $10. I was given 3-3s and also had the 3 card poker & $1 bonus covered!
ReplyDeleteI love playing it too.
Mr Mary just called.He said "are you still talking to them owls" lol!
Later....$$$$$$
Oh, I put some new pics on ,myspace of our room at the Venetian. It is nicer than my house! 3 HD tvs. I wonder where they got the money for all the stuff lol!!
Dianne: That is WONDERFUL news! Continuing to pray.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY 9th B-DAY to iteach's step-daughter! Sadly, where kids are concerned, time certainly does fly.
Mary/MI: CONGRATS on your Big Win! That's awesome!
Diane, I couldn't leave without telling you how happy I am to learn about the good test results. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers. MUAH!!
ReplyDeleteiteach: I, too, am wondering about this "rain room".
ReplyDeleteHARTLDO: I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by the 'rain room'...
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE: :) and congrats on 100!
MARY/MI: Hope the luck holds and you win even more!
DIANNE: Aw man....I am so happy for your daughter...I almost want to say something nice about the Broncos I'm so giddy. Almost. I'll continue to pray and send good thoughts your way. Give hugs all around please. SWAK!
Good afternoon Owls.
ReplyDeleteCarol, Your blog is a subject some friends and I were recently discussing. It was the consensus that we were better off not knowing the future. There are some chapters in my book of life that I would rather not have lived, but all in all, they made me who I am today, even all the bad ones.
My grandson came over today to show me his senior pictures and we got on the subject of collage. He asked me if I wished I had gone to college right out of high school instead of after I was married and had kids, etc. I told him, if I had, then I wouldn't have married and had his father and he wouldn't be here either. So he said he was glad, too. So it is all as it should be! And what will happen, is what is supposed to happen.
I used to do the "what if" but I guess I am mellowing in my old age and now I just accept...
Thanks for the thoughtful subject today, Carol.
Sandie, good luck with the dentist.
ReplyDeleteI chewed ice all the time with all my pregancies. My ob/doctor tried to tell it was because my iron was low.
LOL- I call the shower the "rain room". Sorry for the confusion.
ReplyDeleteTinka, HB to your daughter and Tango. Did I understand you right...Canada has laws against eating chicken? or just Birdee?
ReplyDeleteIteach, HB to your step-daughter. I have never heard of a 9year old who didn't like cake. I hope those brownies are not Goldie's special recipe.
Goldie, You are a wise ole owl and Mr. G sounds like a gem.
Dianne, Great news today. Still praying.
MaryinMICH, Since you are now Mrs. Bucks-up, you can buy dinner Friday night. LOL
Zona, good to see you back in the nest. So, it's hot in AZ you say?
Shirley, Thanks for breaky. I took a bagel. BTW, love the shoes.
Waving a wing at all the other Owls. I hope everyone is having a good day.
Bebbi: That is a tragic story you told us about. Ya know, my step-brother was shot and killed in his own home back in 1992 and we've always thought it was a case of mistaken identity. The case was never solved.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add that to my bio yesterday. I have one step-sister also. My mom married their dad when I was 5 years old. Those two children were older than me. My step-dad is the only dad I've ever known.
Good news with Dianne and Mary.
ReplyDeleteLet's keep the good news going!
Also, Mary, I love your Vegas pictures.
Hubby's phone interview went well, so now he goes to a third interview and this one is in person. It won't be until next week.
Donna- I go back to school Aug. 18th and I have so much more to do in my room. I do have fun decorating it, but I always worry about getting it done on time.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to make my stepdaughter's brownies and then we are going to her favorite pizza joint.
ReplyDeleteBe back later in the evening.
So, rain room = shower. You've been around 2nd graders too long iteach! LOL!
ReplyDeletesacBarb: That is a wonderful attitude to have. We shouldn't have regrets because everything in our past makes us what we are today. I always say that I have one regret ... I wish I'd never started plucking my eyebrows. It never ends!
iteach, please don't use my recipe for the brownies if you are feeding little girls!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Afternoon/Early Evening to Everyone!!
ReplyDeleteI printed off yesterday's blog and comments, so I will have all of your Bios, and guess what? It was 42 pages long! I am off to Office Depot tomorrow to get new ink cartridges!!! I forgot to only print in black!!! Actually, I was low on ink anyway, and this one just put it over the top!
Anyway, I am anxious to be able to just sit down in my comfy chair with a nice glass of wine and peruse everyone's comments from yesterday!
I still have to read everyone's comments from today, however, because I noticed a few more bios posted!
CAROL~ Your blog today was so thought provoking I printed it also, and need to re-read it before I comment further.
DIANNE~ I am so happy that some good news is coming to you and your daughter. I am aware you "are not out of the woods" yet, but there is a beautiful light shining brightly at the end of this tunnel, I am sure! and PS: Thanks so much for the email. You will have mail soon, I promise!
SANDIE~I too was an "ice chewer" for so long! All during my high school years and way up into my late 20's. I couldn't get enough. I would even ask for extra glasses of crushed ice when we went out! (it drove my hubby crazy, with me chewing and making all that noise)!
And then I found out that I was anemic! I needed IRON! I GOOGLED this, before I posted, because I wanted to make sure I was giving you right info. There is a link between ice chewing and iron deficiency. Please look into this. Other than hurting your teeth, you may need to eat more iron rich foods, or in my case, take iron supplements for awhile. Anyway, not trying to tell you what to do, just a thought to consider!
Off now to get a few thigs done before Miss Laurie gets home,
Peace and Love to All, Donna Jean
Thank you for all the good wishes. Another thing happened good today.The surgeon that couldn't see her until August 12 called today and they can get her in tomorrow at 3PM. She also has her GYN appt in the same area of town (on the other side from us) so we will be able to go to both of them one right after the other. I don't usually go to doctor appts with her but right now I am. We both feel a second set of ears always helps out. I am feeling the hugs from everywhere my great caring owls! I am so happy to see ZONA is going to say something nice about the Broncos!! Next thing you know she will be wanting me to send her a shirt!
ReplyDeleteHART: Why don't you check with your podiatrist and just see if they can't make you some HO shoes...it might be a brand new style.
BEBBI: Well, good luck sharing the Slim Fast with Tinka---I am pretty sure she and SHIRLEY hide them.
ITEACH: I am excited that your husband is going for a third interview. That sounds very promising! I have to laugh about your "rain room". I thought you had some exotic rain forrest room in your house!
MARY: You are always so lucky in Vegas! I love your hotel pictures and I might want a tv in my bathroom like you have at your hotel.
Again, thanks everyone so much.
Dianne - that is great news!! still sending positive thoughts and prayers..
ReplyDeleteAND - i just about fainted when I read that Zona "almost" was going to say nice things about the broncos!! I'll chip in for that shirt!!
:-)
Hart - I also was shocked that an eye doctor's office called SO early - but I guess this guy opens early so that people can see the doctor BEFORE they have to be at work so that they don't miss work - I know - unheard of!!!
Shirley - I hope you do go meet your friends - just pretend you are here in the nest with your super soaker, water balloons and filling up pillow cases with whip cream - and you will have a blast!!
Goldie - LOL at "not your recipe"!!
Iteach - that is great news about your hubby - keeping fingers crossed and sending positive thoughts...
Mary - won big - in Vegas - congrats!!!
sacbarb - glad you had a good visit with your grandson today!!
Did you guys hear that Morgan Freeman was in a serious car accident..?? I pray that he and his passenger will be okay!!
waving at everyone else!! (I did just wake up from an excellent nap!!!
:-)
Oh - and LOL at Donna Jean - she gave up on the Number two pencil and is just printing everything now!! that really gave me a chuckle....
ReplyDeletethanks...
MEK~
ReplyDeleteNever Fear, #2 Will Always Be Here!
Just some notes to help me!!!
Shirley, Love your Hoshoes!
ReplyDeleteTink, Happy Birthday to your daughter and Tango. Thank's for offering me a safe place to hide out from these chicken eater's.
I think it's funny that Goldie has a dog named Pepper and LynnD has on she call's Boz..same as two of mine. Anyone have a dog named Ruby? ;o)
Lovey, Glad you're having a great time with that new car! You deserve it!!
Sandie, Hope the dentist appt. went well.
iteach, DonnaJean, I've heard the same thing about chewing ice. Iron Defiency.
Diane, Good new's about the biopsy test's and your daughter getting in to see the other dr. sooner. continued Prayer's that further testing show's she is all good!
Zona!!! Baby!!!!! Nice to see you!
Does Mr. Z like tuna?? Maybe he could have that instead of chicken strip's. Just a thought for him and some Owl's out there. ;o)
Mary, congrat's on you win!!
I read that they had to use the jaws of life to get Morgan Freeman out of his car. But, he was talking and doing a bit of joking. I really like watching his movies.
Hope you all are having a lovely evening!
Today turned out pretty good after the storm this morning. It got so dark here, I had to turn on lights. But we needed the rain, so it was all good.
Back from the dentist--he didn't care about that small chip in the porcelain crown either! Yea! Everything was just fine.
ReplyDeleteiteach and DonnaJean, I have heard that before and looked it up on the internet in the past and there is a link to ice chewing and iron deficiencies. My doctor always says I'm fine, although I do wonder sometimes when my butt is dragging if I am anemic. I'll ask the doctor again next time I go to check me out. I really love ice and drive my whole family crazy chewing it. My favorite thing to do is fill up my cup with crushed ice, flavored bottled water and diet cranberry juice. YUMMM! It's almost as good as chocolate!!
Mary/mi: you go girl! Whatcha gonna do with all that money??!
Dianne: so happy to hear your news today! I'll keep praying that the next tests are negative, too!
Zona, great to see you back!
iteach: I'm going to use your phrase the next time I take a shower! "Excuse me dear, I'm going into the rain room."
Good evening fellow owls! I just got back home from coffee with my former co-workers. We ended up going to the grocery store too. Now I don't think I have to go out again until my eye appointment on the 26th, unless my prescriptions run out first. I'll have to count my pills and see. I think the thought of going out is worse than actually going out sometimes if that makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteBebbi please don't listen to Dianne-stirring -the-pot-from-Denver. I am sure that Tinka will be happy to share the Slim Fast with you. I will make sure there is always plenty on hand.
Dianne, Sandie, Bebbi, Goldie, Mek, Zona, Hartldo, Tinka, Birdee, Carol, Donna Jean, Iteach, Lynn D, EBJ, Lovey, Mary, Sacbarb and anyone else I may have missed thanks for your welcome back yesterday and today as well as the words of support about going out. I'm sure you don't understand it any more than I do. Just to clarify though, I don't have panic attacks, at least I wouldn't classify it as a panic attack. I don't have trouble breathing or anything. My BP might go up a bit but I don't think it qualifies as a panic attack. Can anyone who has had a panic attack tell me? Anyway thanks everyone!
Some of the thunderstorms that went through today produced a funnel cloud about one and a half hours away from me. That is a rare sight here in Nova Scotia. I'm glad I didn't see it. Everything appears calm now. It didn't get rid of the damn humidity though. BBL.
Shirley, I had trouble with panic attacks about 17 years ago. My heart would race, I would feel faint and just "knew" I was having a heart attack--sweaty, nervous, nauseous. I also had the feeling of wanting to run away. They were awful.
ReplyDeleteSo, it doesn't sound to me like you are having panic attacks. It sounds to me, since worrying about going out is worse than actually going out, that you are just reinforcing your negative thoughts about going out by staying in. Does that make sense? I'm guessing if you forced yourself to get out more, the scary feeling would go away.
I'm so glad you got out with friends today!! Big hugs to you!!
Hey all I am writing this from my new Instinct phone!!!?
ReplyDeleteSANDIE~ Your drink sounds really delicious!
ReplyDeleteHere I am again sounding like the "mother" and giving advice!
Be careful of the diet drinks, sugar-free etc.
I have taken Laurie totally off of the "light" stuff.
When I started reading labels back in January when she was in the hospital and they told me she had to change her way of eating, I so became aware of "Label-Reading" And Laurie has lost over 30 lbs since January! I am so glad. Of course alot of that was because of her gastro issue, but she is eating regularly now, and hasn't gained any back. Just good food choices, and portion control!
Most so called Low Fat foods are that way because they LOAD the products with high furctose corn syrup, and other really awful ingredients. YES, they are Low Fat. BUT, that does not make them good for you!
In fact, I was at Trader Joe's just yesterday, and I found that their regular "Balsamic Vinaigrette" (tradename) only has 60 mg of sodium per 2 tablespoons (and Laurie NEVER gets 2 tbs), 0 trans fat, 0 sat fat, and 5g of carbs, and 70 cal per 2 tbs.
Now, for instance, the Hidden Valley Original "Lght" has (are you ready for this???)
290 mg of sodium
5 mg of choles
1 gm of Sat Fat
3 g of Carbs
And I won't even go into the ingredients, they would scare you!
Yes, 2 tbs of this dressing is 80 calories, but BAD calories!
You tell me which of the two is healthier. The regular dresing by TJ's or Hidden Valley "light"?
I am only trying to point out that all of us, whether we need to watch our diet for health reasons, or for trying to lose weight, need to be more "label concious" and not just accept the fact that if it says "Sugar Free, Low Fat, etc" that it is good for us.
OK, done ranting!!!
Have a nice evening!
And for those of you that watch Nashville Star, tonight is the finals! Maybe some of you are already watching! My vote is still for Melissa, the Mom of 5 boys, and ( I think) she has triplets! Go Melissa!
Love and Peace, Donna Jean
I heard a doctor on TV the other day say that when you're choosing a salad dressing, get ones that are "transparent". The others will clog your arteries a lot quicker. Makes sense.
ReplyDeleteDonnaJean, funny you should say that because my hubby recently went to his doctor and complained that he can't lose his tummy. The doctor asked what he drinks and then told my hubby that artificial sweeteners, like Splenda which is what we use, just increases your appetite (heard that before) and also makes you store belly fat! He said to drink water, period.
ReplyDeleteWell golly, now there goes that.
DonnaJean
ReplyDeleteI too am a label reader. I have been one for a long time. I try to steer clear from boxed foods now. I keep as much fresh foods as possible in my house. When I have PMS then I must have crunchy stuff so I do buy wheat crackers and have carrot sticks on hand.
Dianne
Continued prayers for your daughter.
Hi Sandie & DonnaJo! :0)
Nashville finales!
SANDIE~ Actually, you can have your flavored water!
ReplyDeleteI usually drink plain water with a slice of lemon, but lately I have been adding a sliver of fruit (like strwberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, etc, or veggies like cucumber, ( sooo refreshing) to the plain, regular water! It is GREAT!
And, if you are like me and enjoy the "sparkling" effect, just get Calistoga water, or some other brand (yes there is a bit of sodium in these, but not that much) and add your favorite fruit!
And of course I have another idea, (never run out of ideas)!!!
Get the 100 percent cranberry juice, (no sugar added, & though a bit tart) when you add it to the sparkling water, you can't tell the difference.
OK, I really am not going to tell everyone what to eat or drink any more! The decisions you make are totally your own!
Love ya all! Donna Jean
Thank you, DonnaJean! Can you come feed me so I'll lose 30 lbs.???
ReplyDeleteITEACH: I'm going to say 'rain room' from now on...see how long it takes Mr Z to ask me what the heck I mean...good way to find out if he even listens dontcha think?? ;)I will be saying prayers and sending good thoughts for your hubby's next interview. {{HUGS}}
ReplyDeleteSACBARB: IT IS HOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!! LOL! And just remember, if I say anything nice about the Broncos, it's because I love DIANNE, not her team...I'm still and always will be a RAIDERS fan. :)
DONNAJEAN: They closed another TJ's here...Bummer...
DIANNE: My...the Broncos colors..purple and orange aren't they??...are pretty. ;)
BIRDEE: Mr Z once said he could eat chicken every day...sorry..he HATES tuna fish....
SANDIE: I use to love to chew ice too..now my teeth are too old..I broke one on a noodle in the chicken soup a couple years ago. ;)
I think it's time to hit the pool..hope y'all (for JOEY) have a great evening.
Hart, I am Italian. I hate plucking too, but I hate the unibrow look more.
ReplyDeleteMEK, I just saw that about Morgan Freeman on ET. He is supposed to have surgery on his broken arm tonight. They also said Christina Applegate has breast cancer. That is sad too.
DonnaJean, thanks for the primer on good vs bad calories.
Iteach, Praying that your hubby's interiew produces a good result.
Birdee, LOL @ trying to turn everyone on to Tuna.
Shirley, Yay for you going to meet your friends. Once you are out, it isn't that bad...right??
Hi Gang,
ReplyDeleteI have been out running around. I have come home with a stuffed up nose and draining ears. I don't know what I drove through but I can barely breathe!!
Iteach: Wahoo a third interview!! Sending prayers Mr. Iteachs way! The rain room huh? Well that sounds better than what Mr. Lynn D calls it, excuse me everyone, the shitter. I think I will retrain him and say oh you mean the rain room.
Dianne it is like the doors are opening quickly on the Doc appts! I really believe it is all of the positive vibes coming from this owls nest!
Sandie I was an ice chewer both times I was pregnant! I could not get enough of the stuff. I was told it was the iron thing too! I have not chewed ice in a long time tho.
Well I am going to email land and then sit infront of the fan it is warm here today! I know Zona not AZ warm but crappy warm for WA! LOL
Hart and Sacbarb I never had to pluck my eyebrows until the last couple of years. I have them start to grow above my brow line and on my eyelids and temples. WTH? I can't decide if every thing is sliding or if I have very little estrogen left. Drives me crazy!!
ReplyDeleteDumb question, owls-
ReplyDeleteWhich dressings are transparent?
Would Italian dressing count? I like that one.
Grace has had a wonderful birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe brownies turned out great- too great. :)
I have to pluck, wax,or mow my eyebrows or I would look like Bert from Sesame Street.
ReplyDeleteSANDIE~ I would love to come cook for you! All I need is a good organic meat market, a fresh farmer's market, and a BBQ!!!
ReplyDelete"All You Have To Do Is Call, and I'll Be There, You've Got a Friend"
ZONA~ WHAT??? I knew Starbucks was going to close stores, but a fantastic healthy grocery store??? Unthinkable! I am so sorry!!!
And you there with your Gift Card! LOL!! I hope you have used it to buy the best of the best!
Bye, Donna Jean
good evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeletei hope everyone had a great day today.
CAROL...deep blog. I don't know if I wanna know how or when the book ends. I would like to think that if I knew, I would hurry up and do everything I always dreamt of doing, so I went out with a ginormous smile! But I think in reality I would dwell, cry, hide and clean my house like crazy so no one had to do it after me!!!
ITEACH...positive thoughts and prayers for the best possible outcome for MR. ITEACH's next interview. And roflmao at pluck, wax or mow your brows!
DIANNEwaitingpatientlyinDENVER...Hoping the rest of your daughters test results can finally take her out of the woods. Continued prayers for you, her and your whole family.
MARYmoneybagsinVEGAS...congrats!
BIRDEE...congrats on 1st! The early bird must be a relative of yours! In your honor, I had beef today!!
DONNA JEAN...from yesterday...you made me cry. The words you wrote humbled me and made my heart so full. Thank you for the kind words. {{{hugs}}} to you and Miss Laurie Elizabeth.
ZONA...TJ's is closing stores???? No way. They are always packed here. Have a nice swim!
Gosh lynn d, I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteIteach: Yes, I think Italian counts as a transparent salad dressing. I thought that was a weird thing for that doctor to say too, but I figured she meant that the sort of clear ones are better than the thick ones like Ranch, French, Thousand Island, etc.
LOL@ Bert from Sesame St.! I know EXACTLY what you mean. I would be the same way!
I've never even been to a TJs. None anywhere near here.
ReplyDelete*****HAPPY DANCE******
ReplyDeleteI have plane tickets to go see Custard! Woo Hoo! Double Woo Hoo!!
~~~~Okay, calming down now~~~~~~
Birdee I'm so glad to see you still have 2 legs and 2 wings. Congrats on #1 today.
Carol Great Blog! About 6 months ago, my husband's kids (the youngest is in her 40's) went to a psychic that one of them had heard about from a co-worker. You can call her and get a reading over the phone or see her in person. Anyway, they were amazed at how accurate she was and they were really impressed. They gave me her name and number, which I still have, but I was afraid contact her. Mostly because things were really getting good with Custard and I and I didn't want to risk hearing anything negative.
Shirley I was going to ask if those were whore's shoes when I read your post about getting them at Shoes for Hos. LMAO!!! I'm so glad you went out for coffee. Why don't you make a scheduled outing for yourself every week? Go to a park or to the library, etc. After a while, schedule two outings each week. Just don't stand around on the corner too long in those shoes. You might get arrested. Bwahahaha!!!
Dianne_things_are_looking_up_in_Denver So far, so good. I'll be keeping you and Tammy in my thoughts. (((HUGS)))
Zona How hot is it?
DonnaJean I was out all day and now have dinner in the oven. I'll call you back a little later. :)
Lovey Keep on keepin' on.
Mary/MI Why can't I be lucky in Vegas like you?
Hart, SacBarb, and Lynn D I never have to pluck my brows anymore. It's the hairs I have to pluck from under my chin that annoy me!
Zona, Raiders fans are loyal to the end, right?????
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE... your weekend sounds divine. Just what a weekend should be. You don't serve the grandkids brownies, do you>??????? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteLYNN D...hope you feel better soon.
JUST LIN...doing the happy dance with you! When are you on your way to the Custard stand?????
DREAMA...hope you and your loved ones are safe.
RONNIE...hope you and your loved ones are also safe.
MEK...are you watching Nashville Star? I watched the finale...all the finalists have a shot at stardom. Not a big country fan, but I enjoyed their performances immensly.
ReplyDeleteGood night everyone, I have another busy day planned with kids tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to do so much before work begins.
TINKA and VIG...hope you enjoyed your holiday. TINKA, the pic of you and your baby grandaughter is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY...looking back, are you now glad you went to coffee? I sure hope you are and will take more little steps like that. You so deserve to be happy.
Mo - could you send me a spoiler??!! yes, I have been watching - doesn't come on for another half hour here...
ReplyDeleteJust Lin - doing the happy dance for you!!
Zona - enjoy your swim - nice way to cool off!!
Shirley - glad you had a good time.
SacBarb - yes, I did see that about Ms. Applegate - they say they caught it in the early stage..
waving howdy to everyone!!
Just_Lin, I never knew what that nursery rhyme about the 'hair on my chinny-chin-chin' meant until recently. The problem is my eyesight is getting so bad, I don't see them until they are 6 inches long and blowing in the breeze.
ReplyDeleteBette Davis was so right when she said "getting old is not for sissies"
Bebbi, Congrats on your new phone.
ReplyDeleteMo
ReplyDeleteI think we will be safe from Edouardo. Hopefully it won't hit Ronniegirl very severely. Winds are going up all of a sudden.The previous news reporter had said the winds were going to be sheared off and go down. The winds jumped from 40 to 60 pmh within an hour after he said that.
Dang it, my dryer buzzer just went off. Got to go fold before they wrinkle.
ReplyDeleteNite! :0)
Just_Lin: I'm happy dancing for you too! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even want to mention the chin hairs but I've got 'em too. I DON'T regret plucking those. It would be SOOOOOO scary if I didn't.
Hitting the hay now. I had a busy day and I'm so incredibly tired. Got to start getting used to "early to bed, early to rise" again. I'll have to be ready for work by 6am each weekday, starting on Aug. 20th.
Good Night Owls!
ReplyDeleteGood night, Donna!
ReplyDeleteGot back from Guerneville this afternoon, and managed to read all the biographies from yesterday.
As Henry Gibson would say:
Veddddy Eeenteresting!
Still haven't made it to bed but I'm heading there any minute, I swear! I send my mom an e-card every day and I still have to get that ready for her and then I'm gone.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say WELCOME HOME BEAR! I've missed you!
I'm on my way to bed but wanted to say I hope I didn't offend Jodi, Tina, K-girl or Want with my "Ho Patrol" remark. It was my lame attempt at humor, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteMaureen I guess I was glad I went out, but I was glad when I got home and closed the door too. Not sure if that makes any sense.
Good night everyone.
SHIRLEY...there's no place like home! but there are some great things to do and see outside of the home, too...when you are ready to go there. i truly understand.
ReplyDeletenight all...slumberland is awaiting and so is the alarm clock!
SHIRLEY~ If you are still up.
ReplyDeleteYES, it does make sense.
It is sort of like when you go on vacation. You want to go,although are nervous about leaving, etc., then love the time spent away, but, there is nothing like coming home to your own little sanctuary.
I am glad though that you went out and enjoyed some time with your friends.
Love ya, Donna Jean
PS:
Whabbear, did you think about me at all as you were driving down River Road (or did you go Occidental Rd) or even 101 back to SF?? Huh, didya??? Just wondering???? DJ
DJ: Forgive me! I actually didn't, as I was a passenger with two other people in the car, and we were yakking the entire time!
ReplyDeleteI did raise a solitary toast to you and all the ows on Saturday night, though! This year we rented a house about a mile and a half from downtown Guerneville, so it was very peaceful and relaxing, and the Milky Way was a sight to behold!
But, yep, we took Hwy 116 back to 101 through Forestville and Sebastopol, and the trip was delightful! I've only gone that way a couple of times before.
Everyone have a great day!!!
