    Congrats on 1st. Lynn

Missed you guys, now I have to catch up on everything.

JODI- I love Jack (and Karen) and his Cher imitation was one of the funniest clips ever. Thanks for the laughs!

Hope everyone is well- no time yet to read all those comments from the last 5 days- so fill me in if there is some BIG news please.

SHIRLEY, hope you are feeling better soon. If I stick my red high heel 'ho shoe up there will that help hold things in?????

  32. Good Morning Goldie -

Jodi - That clip is priceless. Thanks for sending it in. I think it's time for me to start watching the re-runs again. I think I have seen the whole series about three times. I just loved it. Then I thought I would give it a break. That clip has brought my interest back. It had such a fantastic cast.
Remember when Rosie played Jack's mom?

I am off for a short visit to myspace to pick up mail. I will then be back.

I spent the night up North with my sweet niece Raquel. She was in the emergency room yesterday for a very bad strep infection. She just moved into her college apt. and I was the only one who was available to care for her. I hated to leave her today but I have a very important date with my hair dresser lol! My niece lives 70 miles north of me and my appointmt. is 35 miles south of me. I have to s--t shower & shave later.......

  39. Hello, Sandie, and welcome back, Amicus!

HOdi: I guess my gay genes are barely hanging in there... I couldn't stand Will and Grace, but I love Cher! And this scene WAS pretty funny!

Have yo seen the clip with Cher and Beavis and Butthead where they diss Sonny? LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Good Morning Everyone!

JODI: This clip made me laugh for so many reasons. First and foremost, of course, the "Snap out of it!!!" line. Love it. Live by it. LOL! Then Jack's Cher impersonation..priceless. I didn't get to see many episodes of 'Will and Grace' because of Mr Z's work schedule...but I loved the ones I did see. Cher herself...I watched and LOVED the 'Sonny and Cher' show when I was a kid. All in all JODI...this was a smile maker!!! Thank you for starting the morning off right! Like you once told me..."If you can make someone laugh..." SWAK!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'll go read the comments and be right back!!!

I guess I need to get the sleep out of my eyes!! LOL

    LynnD
congrats on first. Are you still boycotting EBay?!
    EBJ
I so loved reading your squirrel story. I have siminlar stories about "my" squirrels and racoon. I adore wild life.
Which brings me to Wabbear! TeeHee!
    Wabbear
(Area 51)I hope you will write some blogs about growing up Gay. In HS one of my best friends was Gay and he never discussed it until the year before he died. I have read some of what Antonioooo has had to say about growing up black and Gay in VA. Knowlege never hurt anyone and I am all for knowledge. I'd like to be able to offer words of wisdome to my Gay friends but sometimes I don't know how to encourage them and make them feel happier.
Has anyone heard from ReneeEve, Glynis, or Barbwa? I hope that the 3 of them have not left the Nest for good. Maybe I will send a text to Renee. I hate to bother her knowing she is always so busy with 3 boys and her Mom.

MEK, I hope Bailey likes his new groomer! Oh, if only we could all go to Amicus. *sigh*

Hey Dreama! What are you up to today?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ah the nest has filled up since I left.

Jodi - Thanks for the phone call.
What was that sentimental commercial about a phone call? I was just going to use it and it slipped out of my head.

Whabbear - Thanks for the letter today and thanks for caring.

Zona-my-baby - Did you see we made the quote of the day? It's impossible to get away with anything in this nest.
I am fine today thank you. The weather isn't as beautiful as yesterday. It was perfect weather for Butchart's yesterday. It is supposed to be very warm again by Friday. We may go see the lights one more time.

Mek - Good morning to you too. I see you are really enjoying the Olympics. I don't think Canada has received a medal yet. That must be disappointing to them. They have had lots of near misses.

I am going to see if I can find any more funny "Will and Grace" clips. I should be cleaning my house but what the heck.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am leaving it open for someone to jump in. Not you Zona-my-baby.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Here's a little chuckle for ya'll today.....

Sooo, the dog's wake me up way too early this morning with their barking. Mr. B apparently got up even earlier to let them out. We leave the laundry room door open for them. I vaguely remember Boz being in my face to tell me to open the door. I must have told him to go find daddy, which he did like a good boy.
    Anyway's.....back to the barking.
I was just going to let them be, when I hear a male voice. Not Mr. B's. The dog's are going crazy, so jump up to go get them. The only person that would be in our back yard is the meter reader. Soooo, I'm standing there telling him they won't bite, he has no problem with them. He has a small pole type thing with a tennis ball on the end to keep them at bay. Boz like's to jump on people.
So we're chit chatting, I'm grabbing the dog's and then he is on his way! I go back in and after about 15 mins. I realize.....this, pretty good looking guy, has seen me wearing.......my breathe rite stip!!!!! How oh so cute I must have looked! You know those damn thing's widen your nose, just like a little piggy! (sorry Mo)

Why couldn't he use the little binocular's all the other guy's use?!
Now, I'll have to catch him next month without the strip's!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh! btw, we won't Eeeven get into what I was wearing and the fact that there was absolutely nooooo support system in place!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi All! Just getting on the computer for the first time today. Been soooooo busy! All kinds of errands. Took my daughter to play practice. Had to take my mom to the bank and sign some papers to take over her accounts if something were to happen to her. Already took Dad off of the paperwork because of his condition. (physical & mental) Just another part of being in the "Sandwich Generation". Kind of sad, but Mom and I had a nice time together.

Now I'm home waiting for the basement guys to arrive. They better get here and be gone in time for me to go pick up my daughter!

    Congrats on first Lynn!

OMG Jodi! My favorite Jack moment too! I LOVE Will & Grace! How can you NOT?!?

Whabby: LOL @ your A51 comment congratulating Mr. Hart!

Gonna go read the comments now.

    ReplyDelete
  53. LynnD First again with those lovely long legs of yours! Congrats!

Jodi Thanks for the morning smile. I love that clip!

Birdee LMFAO!!! I hate to have unexpected visitors before I've spackled my face and propped up or tucked in other body parts.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh, I remember another favorite Jack moment. Remember when he was hyped up on coffee and talks real fast?

Hope you start feeling better NOW Shirley! Not soon, but NOW! :)

Whabby: PROUD F*G HAG HERE!!!!!!! I've been one since middle school.
Hey, there is another one of those words...like the "n" word....that's it's okay to say by some people and by some it is not. Depends on how it's used. Whabbear and I (and some others) were saying it in a joking way, but it's never a word I'd use in public or in order to hurt someone. Know what I mean? It's an ugly, hateful word. I couldn't even bring myself to type it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Okay, I have two Cher related stories.

First story: As some of you know, my second husband was much older than me. He was a policeman and long before I met him he was moonlighting doing security at Sony and Cher's dressing room when they performed at a local theater. This is when they had first become popular. Anyway, after the show, word came back that the president of the fan club and a few members were there and they wanted to come back stage for a brief visit and autographs. Sonny said no and was a complete jerk. Cher lit into him big time, telling him it was people like the ones in the fan club were making them popular and he better not ever forget it. She forced Sonny to meet with the fans. My hubby said Cher was very nice and gracious to the security detail as well as to the fans.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh birdee, that is FUNNY about the meter reader and your breathe right strip!!!!! LMAO!!! Can you imagine how hard it was for him not to mention it?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Second Cher story, well kind of:

In the mid 70's there was this great production of female impersonators playing in San Francisco called "French Dressing". It was really great and I must have seen it about 8 times. Anyway, of course there was a "Cher". One of her numbers was the song "Half Breed". She was dressed up in a beautiful full feather headress, faux Indian leather outfit, etc. She had two young braves doing choreographed moves, one on each side of her. They were dressed with a headband with single feather and nothing else but a loin cloth (a small flap of material covering the front, one covering the backside, tied together at the hips. Well, one of the ties broke on one guy's outfit. He had to go through most of the performance with one hand holding his tommyhawk and the other trying to keep his flap in place. It was really quite hysterical, especially when the two braves would have to face each other. They were trying so hard not to laugh, which made it even funnier.

    ReplyDelete
  58. OK..here's my Sonny and Cher story. I liked their show so much, that when I heard a rumor that they were breaking up...I was devestated. I wrote a letter to Parade magazine..and asked if it was true. They answered in the magazine and printed my name! I went through 7th grade with everyone teasing me by asking for updates on Sonny and Cher. It's funny now, but it was so embarrassing back then. What the heck was I thinking??

BIRDEE: LOL at your Breathe Right/supportless moment!

One day last Fall I was just getting dressed when the doorbell rang. I pulled on my tanktop and ran to answer. It was my neighbor and since it was his birthday, he was bringing over a piece of cake for me. He seemed awfully happy..and it wasn't til I closed the door that I realized that I had answered it before putting on my bra...omg...the shirt was a very light yellow..and it was a little COOL outside. Geez...

    J/LIN: Holding his tommyhawk..was he?? ;)

HI HRTLDO!! What a day you've had already!! I'm exhausted...lol..

    ReplyDelete
  59. Cool stories just lin!

The basement guys just left. We're looking at $10,000 AT LEAST! And my insurance will not cover any of it. I asked them, "Do you have any idea what a substitute teacher makes in a year?" (It's less than $10,000.) UGH! I'm almost in tears. But I guess it will cost a whole lot more to save my lungs when the mold overtakes them. I've GOT to do this.

To cheer me up, I found this....Enjoy......

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Kr3h_VA0No

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hart Loved that video clip! LMAO!

Before you sign on the dotted line, I hope you can get a couple more estimates. You definitely have a point about the mold and saving your lungs. That could really affect your quality of life and that is, as the commercial says, "priceless".

    ReplyDelete
  61. HARTLDO: The clip was great..the news not so...I wish hugs were dollars here...{{hugs}}

    ReplyDelete
  62. Good afternoon HO's!!! I'm glad that you enjoyed the clip I picked out!!!

  80. I just heard from VIG. She will not have internet service at the place where she is teaching her course. They turn it off for the summer. Her course went well today.
She asked me to say hello to everyone and to tell them she should be back on by Friday. I certainly hope so because Friday is her birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Just_Lin: Sorry about your back. Hope it's better soon!

Shirley: You are a riot!!!! (sniffle, snort, sniffle)

Tinka: Tell Vig Hello from me!

Thank you to everyone for their sympathy about my basement and the cost of getting it back to normal. Mr. Hart has been very upset about it this evening, especially since he had a health insurance meeting at work today and they're cutting more benefits. Seems things just keep getting worse and worse. Good thing he has me to uplift him! nudge, nudge, wink, wink LOL!
(Gotta laugh so ya don't cry, right?)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hart I'm really sorry about your basement and also about the health benefits. It seems employees get so much less in the way of benefits than they used to. In a lot of fields they only hire part-time so they don't have to offer benefits.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hey everyone,

Birdee sorry to laugh but at least your nose was supported! LOL

Hart I am so sorry about the basement. I agree that you should get a couple more estimates. Hoping everything works out.

    Hi Jodi!!!!

Well I have had quite the day. I was kicked out of Wal-mart...Ha not because I lost it or anything. The power went out in the whole town. So they made us all leave. haven't heard why the power went out but it was very entertaining. I had to go back in late this afternoon to finish shopping.

  84. Yes, Lin, that is the way it is with my job. They have me doing 5 part time jobs and don't have to pay me any benefits. Plus, full-time employees get paid all summer when they're off. I haven't received a pay check since the first of June. But I love my job. I'm not complaining. I'd just like to be considered full-time. After all, I am there 12 hours every day once school starts. On most days anyway.

  85. JODI: Fun blog and once again enjoying the comments.

I am going to stay at my daughter's tomorrow after her surgery for a few days. SIL will be at work (even this weekend) and girls back in school so it should be quiet (Tammy plans to sleep a lot). I was even "thinking" about trying to write a blog..we shall see. My granddaughter had her cast put on today. The good news is that it is water-proof but I still don't see why it is so big for a finger. The other good news is she should be able to get it off in three weeks instead of six...just in time for soccer!

I am going to watch Olympics now that I am all packed to go over to Tammy's. They are going to think I am moving in when they see everything I am bringing to do!!

MEK: I am staying up even later some nights watching the Olympics and then MrD has them on during the day so I am more lazy than usual. He goes back to school on Thursday, so maybe next week I might get a few things done around here.

    Everyone take care..

  86. Hi Dianne_packing_everything_in_Denver! I sure hope things go well with your daughter's surgery. I'll be thinking of you and her and sending love and positive thoughts. So glad the granddaughter's finger is on the mend. She has plenty of room on that cast for lots of autographs. :)

  98. Hello!

I have been MIA for several days, and have not caught up on the Blogs or comments. I am so sorry for not being able to keep up! (PLEASE don't snip my feathery wings for absenteeism!!!)

I spent the weekend with all my daughters in Sacramento, and it was wonderful.

Now, though, I am worrying about Miss Laurie's Pacemaker procedure on Thursday, 8/14/08.

I know that this is a simple procedure, (well, not so simple, since they will have to "put her under" but they would not do it in Santa Rosa (where we live).

Due to Laurie's complicated heart defect, it will be done at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco. An over night stay, and then hopefully be able to come home on Friday.

I will try very hard to read all the Blogs tomorrow (Wed), but to be very honest, I am not sure I can catch up!

So, my trusty #2 may not be sharp!

This was just a quick FLY BY (by my standards) to let my friends know that I "haven't flown the coop"

PS: To Dianne & Tammy, hugs, and to Carol, hope your Dad is doing well.

And, to those of you other lovely Owls dealing with tough times, my heart is with you, and I am sending postive thoughts and love to you!

I am not sure when I will be able to post again, so,

Peace and Love to all, Domna Jean

Thank you to all of you for your kind words...
