Yes, you do have talent!

by zona

Frank Sinatra could sing. Gene Kelly could dance. Hemingway could write. DaVinci could paint. Talk about understatements, right?? But I believe that everyone has a talent of some kind, most are just too modest to talk about it. Today, don't be shy.....talk about your talents. Maybe you're a painter...or a poet...maybe an excellent cook. Go ahead and tell us what you are really good at...what can you do that you would like people to know about?? I'll start.....I am a great doodler....really. I'm not really an artist...but boy can I doodle to beat the band. So let loose everyone....shout it from the mountaintops....yell it from the roof...what is your talent??

  6. Amazing, Amazing Trip.. My SSO and I have def reconnected ;O), I met up with clients of mine while there, and we had the best time!

Bellagio is a great hotel, pampered is the word, all week.

    Sun, Fun, Sex, Drink, Food,

Got to see "O" first row! Courtesy of my client, I got wet, but who the heck cared.

Cher's concert was canceled as she got sick, but that was ok, I am able to get my money back on the tickets. I had such a great time it really did not matter...

And no pictures, I did not take my camera, really not a camera person when I am away..

  16. I have so much catching up to do, as I have to read all the blogs and comments fully!

Oh, and I bought a new Tiffany charm (for my Tiffany Bracelet) at Tiffany's in the Bellagio, its the lock with the blue heart in the middle. I tell ya there is nothing like getting that blue box in that blue bag, I felt like a queen. I just wanted a special memory, and now I have it...

  18. I missed you all, it is so strange being computerless, however it is also great to be on vaca and not have to think about anything. I recommend a vaca/getaway to one and all as it def makes one feel better. I have decided I will take a vaca like this one once a yr, I will not wait 2yrs again...

  19. How funny, its just like old times, I am talking to myself again. And now I know I am home, back in the nest, with all you crazy owls...

  20. Good Morning Mo and Carol!!

Carol...Sounds like you had a wonderful time! And a blue box no less...

  21. Good Morning Owls! Welcome Home Carol!!! So glad you got the vacation you needed.

Talents? I'll have to think it over. I'm told I'm a good organizer and I throw a great party. Other than that, I can't think of a thing. Can't sing or dance well, but I love to do both and I'm not embarrassed to do either one.

At school, kids ask me to draw stuff all the time, and they all tell me I'm such a good artist. I KNOW I'm not, but elementary school children think I'm great! That makes me happy. :)

It's rainy and yucky here today. A good day for sleeping. Wish I could.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day!

  22. Scirish and Hart! Thanks!

I am off to start my day here at the office!

  25. Zona...Great blog! I now have "Singing in the Rain" stuck in my head...which is totally appropriate as it is very dark and humid.

I don't know if I have any special talents. I do like to design and make jewelry..

uh oh, just heard thunder...going to grab a shower before it gets close.

  26. Good morning Hooters!
Mo, mo, mo - you cheating again???
    Hi MEK,scirish, hart!

Welcome back Carol- and thank you so much for the birthday wishes.
Glad your trip was so fun.

Thanks also to dianne, sacbarb and iteach for the wishes after I left the blog last night. It was a great birthday and I was happy to celebrate it with all of you.

I can not honestly think of one thing that I have a talent for. Other then sticking my foot in my mouth or tripping over things. Hmmm, going to have to ponder this for awhile. WAIT- I have it, I am a great GRANDMA. I am the fun one who lives far away and spoils them rotten.

  27. I didn't think I was that late this morning but I was # 35. There are some early birds today.

  28. Zona-my-baby - It's another blog from you this morning. Good for you.
I will feed my little ones and be right back to read it and the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Shirley- from area 51- let me add my 2 cents. (something else I have a talent for)
I think MEK hit it right on the button as did iteach. Just 'take us all with you' when you go in and remember we stand behind you and are cheering you on!

    Good morning Tink

  30. Happy Tuesday Owls.

Carol, Welcome home. You were missed, but I'm glad that you took time for yourself and that you had a good time. I have always wanted a 'blue box' but have never gotten one. I am so jealous. Mo took very good care of us and Shirley behaved herself, too. No naughty mat.

Zona, You are a talented writer, but I know another talent you have...tripping. bwahaahaa

My talent is that I can tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue. My Hubby liked to tell people I could do that, too...don't know why.

Waving a wing at Mo, Scirish, Hart, MEK (I agree about the commentators last night), Goldie and all who land later.

I am off to take a neighbor to work. Her car decided not to start today. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  31. Now I can sing in the rain if I so desire! I cannot believe how dark it is out....it looks like 8 o'clock at night.

Goldie...Happy Belated Birthday! Sorry I missed it! Do we get to see the ring?

The acupuncture appt was very interesting. I was there quite a while and then had to rest for the remainder of the day. The swelling went down immediately (although some came back later) and the pain is less. Oddly enough I was SO relaxed at the end of it, my limbs felt like lead. I am going back Thurs am and am cautiously hopeful. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me please!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Now I see the reason for the large number of comments. Our illustrious leader is home. Welcome back Carol. You were sorely missed. It just wasn't the same without you, although I must admit we did have fun. I am happy you had such a great holiday. I think that's what we all need. I will now read the blog and comments.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good Morning - Carol, Maureen, Scirish, Donna, Mek and Goldie.
I hope you are having a Maria Day.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Great blog again Zona. I love that movie, "Singing in the Rain". Gene certainly had a talent for singing and dancing. I think that will be my choice tonight. That is unless I am able to pick up season 4 of Grey's Anatomy. I love Debbie Reynolds in this movie. From what I read, Gene didn't think she was experienced enough for the role but she was great.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks scirish- I think there is still a piece of cake on the table for you and Carol.

scirish- I really hope the acupuncture works and the pain stays managable.

    ReplyDelete
  36. scirish- yes when I get it back. It is off to the jewelry store to get sized. It is a nice ring with a couple of diamond and 3 sapphires in a band. I am not a fan of "big" jewelry - and I don't wear much, so it is perfect and my taste 100%.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My talent is all in music. I taught choir in every school at which I taught. I love to sing and do so whenever I can; while driving the car, rocking my grandchildren, in the shower, at Karaoke parties, anywhere. I play the piano, guitar, and ukulele and enjoy it very much. I guess music and making my famous buns are my talents on record.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Goldie....Yay for cake! The ring sounds gorgeous, I am also a fan of "understated" jewelry. Thanks for the well wishes!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I am getting ready for my computer techie to arrive. He is going to 'tweak' my wireless internet. I think I liked it better when I was 'wired in'. My network is sometimes not available and I am offered Mike, or Kevin, or Carrie's network. They must be my neighbours but I don't know their passwords nor do I want to know. My techie says it is just like fine tuning a radio and he shouldn't have any trouble doing it. I went wireless when I added my MacBook to my household. It has been fun having both but not when I get thrown off the Internet. I will be back this afternoon when things are fixed. Have a great day everyone. Great blog again Zona.
    Be good and be safe.

  40. ***From Area 51***

Shirley You were so funny and I really needed the laugh! Congrats to you and Carol for being first! Good luck with your meeting. Just be you and you will be just fine.

iteach That was a wonderful blog. Thank you for sharing sweet little Maria with us.

Goldie I'm so glad you had a wonderful birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Now, for today.......

Maureen I see you cheated your way to first again!!! LOL

Carol Welcome back! I'm so glad you had a great time on your vacation. We missed you.

Zona Great blog topic today. Right now I feel completely talentless. I do twirl the baton. I used to have artistic abilities, even got a small grant for it once, but I haven't drawn or painted anything in many years.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hey, Mo! I'm not going to say a word about how you cheated again, especially since Carol is back and I said I wouldn't tell because you gave me a caramel latte and it was soooo goood. So, hi! :)

Carol, HI!!! So glad you had a wonderful vacation. We missed you but Shirley kept us entertained. And we sure didn't see any strippers or anything like that. No sir-ee, we didn't.

Hey, I think I have a talent for tattling! LOL

Zona, another great blog! I seem to have a talent for making people on the phone want to talk to me. It is typical for me to talk to a wrong number for an hour. Seriously. And I swear, I don't try to do it! It's become a joke at our house. Once I called aol to cancel my account and talked to the guy for almost two hours. He told me all about his girlfriend, etc. Really, I'm pretty shy when I meet people so I don't know what I do on the phone--must be sympathetic vibes or something.

I guess I'm also pretty creative--I love making my cards and crafts. And, I often get asked to help people with home decorating and furniture placement--I love that, too!

sacbarb, I can tie the cherry stem in my mouth, too! LOL

Shirley, I'm thinking about you today!! The owls were so right yesterday--you are awesome--just pretend we're all with you. You have so much to offer--believe it.

I'm waiting for a call from my son's teacher so I'd better go. Have a great day!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I can't even type about this without sobbing but Custard and I broke up yesterday. I am still in shock over it. One week ago we were in love and looking at places where we might want to live once I moved up there. Today we have nothing. This is all because I once slept with a black man 32 yrs ago...a very nice intelligent man, I might add, who currently works for our State's Attorney General's Office. I knew I was more liberal than Custard but he had not shown me any signs at all of being bigoted. As a matter of fact, the last time he saw me in our hometown, I was on a date with a black guy. So when he asked the other day if I had ever slept with a black man I told him the truth. I told him the truth because I am a very truthful person, plus I want to be loved for who I really am, not just some fantasy of the "girl of his dreams" that he thought I was. Apparently this is a deal breaker. He claims this does not make me wrong or bad but he just has different views on such things and he can no longer love me in a romantic way. I had no idea his love was so conditional as to let something that happened 32 yrs ago take away everything we had today and would have had for the rest of our lives. Thank God I hadn't already moved to Boise!

  44. Carol's home!!!!!!!!!! Wooho! Welcome back! You were missed!

Just a quickie...I didn't go to sleep until 5am and then just woke up and am behind the eight ball!

Zona....your talent is writing fantastic blogs. Oh and I have heard what you can do with a noodle!!! My hidden talent is that I can become a human fountain! Mouthful of water, head back, squish it through the spaces in my teeth, water goes in many different directions and the crowd cheers!

Have a day filled with yellow Owls. Our head bird is back in the nest!

    ReplyDelete
  45. MO - Congrats on first!!!

CAROL - Welcome home!! I'm so glad that you had a great time....you so totally deserve it! I've never gotten one of those blue boxes, but my daughter did when she was baptized. My sil lived in NYC at the time, and she got Sam a beautiful sterling silver cross!!

ZONA - Great blog!! Talents.....hmmmmm!! Well I definitely got the potato salad making gene in the family!! I can also play piano and french horn. I used to sing in the church choir, but I'm not sure if any of my friends actually would call that talent....especially the ones that I leave a little ditty on their voicemail or answering machines!!! :P

Waving a wing at MO, CAROL, SCIRISH, DONNA JO, MEK, GOLDIE, TINKA, SACBARB, JUST LIN, and SANDIE!!! I hope I didn't miss anyone. :D

SHIRLEY - Just walk in there like you own the place and pretend all of us are with you (kind of like the Verizon network commercials!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh just_lin! I'm so, so sorry. I don't know what to say.

    ReplyDelete
  47. VIG - Waving a wing at you, too!!! We must have been typing at the same time. lol @ human fountain. :D

  48. just_lin...I am so sorry to read about you and Custard. I am so surprised by this that I don't know what to say exccept that I send you the biggest of hugs and tons of caring thoughts and love. Hang on to your Owl friends!

  49. JUST LIN - I really am speechless, and my heart is breaking for you. ((((HUGS)))) to you my friend.

  50. We are here for you, just_lin! I feel so sad, too. Please lean on us.

  51. Good morning (it's still morning on the west coast) Owls and a heartfelt welcome back to Carol!

I have no real talent in particular but today's blog is the perfect opportunity for me to tell you (at Whabby's suggestion) about YH's hobby. He's been keeping a photo-a-day blog since early 2007. Some days he just phones it in but some days he gets some pretty awesome shots.

One of my latest favs is the "Wild West Tribute at Ocean Beach" from Sunday's post. On our way home from our regular sunday stroll at Crissy Field with our dogs, we saw an interesting sight on Ocean Beach. Check out that pic on his blog:
    http://pfranson365.blogspot.com/

He's not sure what he's gonna do about posting while we're on our cruise. We're arriving in NYC just seven short weeks from today...woohoo!

Have a great day all and I'll try to check in later although I have lots to do at work today.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am waiting for my techie -

Just-Lin - You were in my prayers last night. (((((Hugs)))))) Sweetie. You will get through this.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good Morning my VIG - Isn't it another beautiful morning? These days are God given because after our two weeks of cool weather, we never expected this. I hope it lasts until October.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh Just_Lin, I just read about you and Custard and I'm so, so sorry. I think you did the right thing in being totally honest with him and although it sounds hollow when your heart is breaking, he was right to be totally honest with you as well.

Things are very raw right now. After some time passes, both of you will have had a chance to gain some new perspective. We can't know what that will mean but as my son always tells me, when times are tough, remind yourself that all things happen for a reason.

Have a good cry, lean on your friends, vent, rant, do whatever you need to do to get through this. We're here for you. Heck, I'm around the corner, so if you ever want to meet for coffee, just let me know and I'm there!

    ((((((((((Hugs))))))))))

    ReplyDelete
  55. Good Morning Sandie, SacBarb and Jodi - Have a great one. I will read your comments after my 'guy' leaves.

    ReplyDelete
  56. J/L, I am so sorry to hear about you and Custard, but I agree with Outatuune. It is best that you both were honest. Just as you wouldn't want to be loved for being a fantasy girl, you don't want to love a fantasy guy either. The biggest of Owl ((((HUGS)))) to you. And after thinking about it, maybe he will realize that you are more important to him than what you did years ago.

P.S. I'm not that far away either and you have my number.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Tinka, we must have been typing at the same time and I left right after my early post.

Sandie, I find it to be an ice breaker when there is a lull in the conversation. It usually sparks questions about what else I can do with my tongue. I never tell.

VIG-the-human-fountain, yet another reason for your 'notorious' title.

Outatuune, YH took some great pics at the BABB too.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey Jodi, I hope someday to be able to taste your delish potato salad.

    ReplyDelete
  59. J/L- ((HUGS)) I don't know what to say either, other then I'm sorry. I agree you were right to be honest, and in the long wrong it will serve you well.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I am still waiting. I hate waiting for repairmen. I don't even like to go out in the back yard for fear I will miss him. I am a prisoner in my home until I get here. Listen to me rant about such an unimportant inconvenience when Just-Lin has really something to deal with. I am so sorry Just-Lin. I wish I knew the right words to say to help you feel better but I am sure nothing will help but tears right now. Let them flow, my Dear.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I am singing while I march as that is my talent. (Trying hard to keep on topic today).

    ReplyDelete
  62. Carol - Did you go down to the old section of the Strip that is all closed in? I loved it down there. Every fifteen minutes the ceiling lights up and there are different kinds of music. I was in awe when it was Elvis. Elvis pictures everywhere and all of his beautiful music. I could have stayed there all evening just to wait for Elvis to come around again.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Thank you everyone for your concern and nice words of sympathy. My goal today is to try not to cry as much as I did yesterday. I also have a cold which helps me disguise why I have red eyes. I am in absolute shock that my life changed so quickly and for a reason that I don't see as a legitmate reason at all.

I need to go some things. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sandi - I received your mail. I will answer it as soon as I leave the nest.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Geez.....I don't need to "go some things". I need to "go DO some things".

Oh, and BTW....Custard is an ass!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Scirish - How is the pain control going? Did any of our suggestions help? Did you try Tina's suggestion. I won't repeat it because I am sure you remember what it was.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Just-Lin - That's my girl. Get angry. That will help.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Congratulation Tinkatia on getting 100. Good for you.

I think I had better find a better way to pass the time. I think I am losing it on here. See you after my nap.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Tinka Congrats on 100!! Also, thank you for being in my cheering section. OK, I really have to do some things now. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  70. Happy Tuesday hooters!

Great blog Zona! I don't think I have any real special talent these days, but I used to be really good at needlepoint, and crafts in general.

I used to make all my own Christmas decorations, my specialty were wreaths. I still have boxes of craft supplies that I've lugged around each time I've moved. I have never gotten back into it, tho.

JL I'm so sorry for your sadness. It is hard to know what to say :( We should have a mini BABB soon so we can meet you, and lend you our shoulders for support.

Outatuune I am making the famous YH Baked Beans this coming weekend, I went to Trader Joe's this morning and bought everything!

MR. EBJ LOVED the leftover beans from the BABB, so I will make them for the party I'm having here on Saturday.

Loved YH's blog pics, and there is one in particular that is very cute :)

Welcome home Carol, it's AMAZING what a vacation of eating, drinking, fun and sex will do for you!

Shirley let us know how the meeting went today! I know you'll do fine.

It's a cool, breezy day here so far, a nice change from 100+ degrees we've had the past couple weeks.

    Have a great day everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  71. just_lin, you go girl! Now you're talkin'!

    ReplyDelete
  72. outatuune, thanks for sharing YH's pictures! I really enjoyed them. It looks like a fun thing to do. I never remember my camera, though! I guess it gets to be a habit--I should try that.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oops, forgot to say, HI EBJ!! Always nice to see you stop in!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Busy day on the blog! I have to get back to work but I just had to stop in and tell Just/Lin how sorry I am about Custard. (((((((HUGS))))))))

    ReplyDelete
  75. I bet if custard looked at his ass in the mirror, he'd find out it's BLACK!!!!! I'm glad you found out now, Just_Lin~ You will be fine~

    Tinka~ CONGRATS ON 100!!!!!~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  76. Just_Lin:
Geez, sorry!! I totally think you did the right thing by being honest, it is a shame really, that your honesty was not appreciated, instead he turned it around. Let him sit on it a couple of days, maybe he will come around. Keep your chin up, as something like this you are better off knowing now, then down the road.

    Many Smiles... :O)

  77. I am starting to crash, I have a couple of more hours at work.. Just taken it slow...

TINA: I AM UP!! I heard you all the way down here! Your talent must be the gift of persuasion.. ;)

EBJ: I use to love to do needlework too..cross-stitch..but I have pretty much put all that away. I almost got the itch to start one of the 100 or so patterns I have...but it went away.

  81. Good Afternoon Owls!

CAROL: Great to see you back. We all missed you a lot. I am so glad you had a fun trip. It didn't sound like one thing was missing from your desciption. Were you like MARY/MI and won tons of $$?

J/L: I am so sorry you are so sad right now. I would think Custard would want you to be honest and I guess if he doesn't like something, maybe he shouldn't be asking! I doubt he wants a woman that fibs! I know your heart is hurting right now so just know your friends are around you---hugs!

ZONA: Another great blog. Your talent is writing and don't forget swimming under water and holding your breath for as long as you proclaim you are able to do.

I can't think of any talents that I have. I like to sing but I doubt or rather I know my friends and family would not say it is my "talent". I can be funny in a group but that's not really a talent so, I guess I am just a nice friend to people! (and aren't we all)?

TINA: I can't wait to see your list of talents besides card making and scrapbooking!! :)

How is today working out SHIRLEY? Did you secretly have those water balloons in your pockets?

    ReplyDelete
  82. J/LIN: I am so very sorry to hear that Custard is acting like this...or that he even thinks this way. I agree with everyone..it's better you found out now..but I'm sorry you're heart is hurting so much. BIG {{{HUGS}}} from AZ.

SHIRLEY: Please report in. I know you'll do great, you're sense of humor and your kindness are so evident..all you have to do is be yourself!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Just Lin - i just read your post and had to write before I read anyone else's response..

all i can say is - What an ASS!!! Good Grief!!!

If he is that shallow - you are SO much better off - I'm sure it doesn't seem like that now - but YOU are too special!!!

    (((HUGS)))

okay - back to catching up on the comments!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. TINA: Kind of funny...I was asking for your talents and you were writing that it was a PG-13 blog. I guess our minds regarding your talents were right in the same spot at the same time!

SCRISH: I hope the pain keeps getting less and less and that all this works for you. I am thinking of you.

    ReplyDelete
  85. DIANNE: LOL..you are a goof..and damn you make me laugh..SWAK!!

  90. Thanks again, everyone, for your kind words. I still can't stop crying. I've lost 5 lbs in 2 days and I'm dehydrated. BTW, Custard said I was the best sexually that he has ever had in his life by far; no one else even close. So maybe I have talent in that area, too. :) Boy, is he going to miss me!

    ReplyDelete
  91. MEK, We didn't have any cherry stems at the BBQ, so I couldn't show off.

  94. Hi everyone. Just stopping by to thank Zona for another great blog. I don't feel very talented today. Sorry.

I went into the office and my world did not crash. I made it home safe and sound. Thank you everyone for your support. I'm really tired cause I didn't sleep much last night and I have some rent issues to take care of so I may not be back tonight.

Carol welcome back. I'm glad your trip was wonderful. You were missed and you are welcome.

JustLin let your tears wash some of the hurt away then let our hugs take care of the rest.

  95. Well my techie guy has come and gone. I have had my nap and can't decide what to do next. I devoted so much time to waiting for him. All he did was up my power so we shall see if it makes a difference.

Zona - Hi - I don't know whether to go today to purchase Grey's #4. I really want it to 'take up' a lot of my weekend because it's my ex's birthday and everyone but me will be at Cara's for the party. I don't know why that still bothers me but it does. Grey's will keep me busy as long as I haven't seen it all by Saturday.
I am grateful today that my problems are such little ones.
I think I will get a snack and sit out in the beautiful sunshine. Then take my 'babies' for a walk.

  111. Goodnight Jodi! Almost my bedtime too. I hate going to bed this early!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Hi Everyone!

I am back, but just for a minute.

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

Now, when I typed that, I realized that there were many Owls out there that are hurting right now. For whatever reason, they will not have a wonderful evening.

I myself have not had the best of days. I am very nervous about Laurie's upcoming surgery next week.

In fact, Miss Laurie is nervous too. Last night after she went to to bed and I thought she was asleep, I went in to check on her and she was still awake. Very unusual for her. I kissed her forehead and asked why she was still awake (she had taken her Ativan, and should have been asleep). She said "I'm nervous", which started a conversation between the both of us.

I thought I was the only one scared and nervous about her procedure, but Laurie is too. I thought she wouldn't think about it, or be worried. After all I am going to be with her, and both her sisters also. But, my sweet girl is nervous.

I tried my best to assure her that everything will be OK. She finally fell asleep, but not before saying, "I am scared about my heart". That just got to me. I tried so hard to hide my own fears, and tears.

So, I feel it is presumputous of me to just assume that each of you will have a "wonderful" evening.

We are all undergoing something in our lives that might prevent us from having a "wonderful" evening. It may not seem like a big thing, or it could be a huge burden that we are carrying around, and have not shared.

So, I won't be flip, and just wish eveyone a "wonderful" evening.

I will wish for each and every one of my friends, hope, love, faith, and encouragement, to carry on.

Peace and Love to All, Donna Jean

    ReplyDelete
  113. DonnaJean That was a very loving post. Thank you and special heartfelt hugs to you and sweet Laurie Elizabeth.

  114. DJ, please give sweet Laurie Elizabeth a kiss and hug from me. She is such a delightful young lady and I'm so glad to have gotten to meet her (and you too!).

  115. DonnaJean- I will be thinking about you and your lovely daughter with lots of love&hope.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Justlin- I'm just dumbfolded by Ketchup's decision.

I'm so glad you shared with us.

When you get to the angry stage let me know, I know a lot of cuss words.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Zona, I absolutley love Singin in the Rain. I have that movie and it always puts me in my happy place.

The only talent I think I have is teaching children.

    ReplyDelete
  118. iteach~ uh...honey....what does dumbfolded mean? I think I get ketchup....but not dumbfolded~

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hmmm, I actually had to think about that one, I think I meant dumbfounded.

I think have been teaching to little kids to long, I'm starting to sound like them.

    ReplyDelete
  120. That was a very lovely post Donna Jean. My best thoughts for Laurie and you while you go thru the next phase of Lauries health issues.

I hope you all have a restfull night.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Donna Jean:
Such a heartfelt post, you are so right, we just never know what most are going thru, you said it so well..

As always my thoughts are with you and Miss Laurie Elizabeth..

    ReplyDelete
  122. iteach I know lots of cuss words, too. LOL @ dumbfolded! I need all the laughs I can get. Thanks for that one.

  123. HI All! Zona: yes it is. She had a nice day. She got a lot of facebook wishes and I sent her some daisies. She is going out with friends tomorrow night and Thursday night for dinner. Having a birthday on a Tuesday sucks when you are in college.

Donna Jean, Your post was very insightful. I hope that Laurie's surgery goes well. I will always say "have a great day or have a wonderful evening" because even if it is a bad one, I always wish everyone the best, always. Just like I always say, "Have a great day" when I email, because I sincerely and from the deepest places in my heart hope that EVERYONE has a great day!", not always possible, but always there is hope. :)

*RANT COMING...LOOK AWAY AND STOP READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE RANTS**

.....I have lost 17 lbs. My team at work is really frustrating me because they are not committing to this program. Why sign up and pay money to better your health and then not do it? I just don't understand that. Oh well, I am GOING TO WIN THAT TRIP TO DAYTONA...!! Thank goodness the weight loss is on individual effort and not team effort..LOL. *RANT OVER*

    *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  124. Zona:
I think my talent is my livelihood, I just love it so much and it comes so natural, so I would say I have a "natural talent" for what I do...

    Does that make sense!!

While I was in Las Vegas, I met a client, it was so random, I knew he was there as I booked his ticket however we did not make plans to meet as he was at another hotel on business. I was sitting my the pool at my hotel, and he passes me by, I called out to him, and from that moment on we spent the last two days together. And we had a blast!
He is the one that treated us to the "O" show, front row seats, $200.00 a ticket, and he would not take the money, he said for all I do for him, it was a pleasure to be able to treat me.

So yes, then it does make sense...

And for both your blogs for you:
    happy blue

    ReplyDelete
  125. DonnaJean, thanks for that very warm and heartfelt post. You are so right. I will pray that Laurie Elizabeth has an easy surgery.

iteach, I think I was "dumbfolded" when I looked in my daughter's dresser drawers today and saw how she stuffed her clothes in there! Actually, I think she "dumbfolded!"
