Something about Nothing!

Blank Screen, Nothing

There are times when you just don't have nothing to say. Even tho there is a lot on the mind, you really are wordless. So this blog will be about Nothing!

Nothing really happened today, as it was a Nothing day. Yesterday was Wednesday and guess what, Nothing happen then either.

The nest has been quiet some days, which just means
Nothing is going on.

The debate on Tuesday, I felt Nothing.

Rosie's blog, no new blog in a couple of days
Nothing.

Niente, Nada, Rien, Nichts
different languages, same meaning
Nothing!

When it comes to Nothing it really is like "Jerry Seinfeld" for his show was about Nothing, yet each week we watched and laughed, and what exactly did we laugh at, Nothing!

There is no theme to Nothing, no colors, no deliberations, no speculations
as Nothing means Nothing, kinda like a zero, which means Nothing too.

Now you all might say, "What is up with this blog, have I gone off the deep end". Well not really cause Nothing is a word, and a blog about Nothing can really be meaningful. It can be just how one feels. It really is what you take from it, if something is up, then something is happening, yet Nothing is really up, so Nothing is happening. Its kinda like "status quo"

A Nothing blog is a good thing, it is just well, Nothing, which is really ok.
As in life, at times, Nothing does happen, as it is happening right now. Nothing!

And Ronnie and Mo, you both threw it out there, and I quote "Nothing", and see, I can surely blog about Nothing!

:O)

Carol, great blog about nothing! It's kind of like "stuff!" It covers a range of things. (I'm thinking this means you need some blogs from us?? LOL)

    Hi MEK, Scirish and Renee!!

I'm off to take my friend who had surgery last week to her dentist appointment. She's not supposed to drive yet.

  15. Good morning,

    You're good, Carol....Gotta love it!!

Nothing, huh? Well, (I just love that word), I like Nothing sometimes. ( guess the reason I like the word, well, so much is because I was told to not use it so much on another blog.)

Back to 'bidness', here. One of my favorite ways to do Nothing, is with a friend. Doing Nothing is a great way to have togetherness time.

If a friend calls and ask's me what I'm doing, and I say 'Nothing', she knows exactally what I'm doing....Nothing, and she knows I'm available to do Something.

I guess my most unfavorite Nothing is when I have Nothing to wear that I like. Now, that's upsetting!

Off to go do Something that I've volunteered for and it's a good way to turn a Nothing situation into Something.

Waving a wing to Birdee who danced 1 through 8, and MEK, Scirish, and Renee.

  18. Carol, Great blog about Nothing. Usually I've have Nothing, but today I've got Something. I am leaving shortly for San Jose where I will meet up with my SIL and continue on to Santa Maria for a family reunion with my Hubby's family. Then Sunday, my two SILs and two of my Hubby's cousins and I are going to Solvang for a few days. Solvang is a quaint little Danish community between Santa Maria and Santa Barbara.

So, since I don't have a laptop, I will be unplugged until next Thursday. I will be thinking about you all while I am gone. Have a great week everyone.

  19. Good Morning Ronnie. When ya got Nothing, you can always go fishing!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Good morning, Carol, birdee, MEK, scirish, and Sandie!

Renee Eve: your husband is just evil! Evil! LOL! Congrats on 22 years!

OK, nothing. All right. Let's go for it!

As you all know, there are lots of industrial and scientific uses for vacuum chambers here on Earth. Inside these chambers, there is almost nothing, just a few stray atoms of gas.

Nature can do much better than that, of course. In the vast spaces between the stars, the vacuum is even harder, and in the even vaster spaces between galaxies, the vacuum is harder still, with maybe just one or two stray hydrogen atoms in each cubic meter of space.

Let's consider one of those cubic meters of intergalactic space for a moment, one that, by chance, has no atoms in it at all. None. Nada. Zip.

What can we say occupies that cubic meter? Is it truly "nothing"?

Well, not if a new theory of the fundamental makeup of the universe has something to say about it. The theory is called "loop quantum gravity", and the basic premise is that space itself is made up of these incredibly tiny units, only about 10 to the minus 33 cm in extent.

According to loop quantum gravity, these tiny, tiny units are indivisible; you could break your cubic meter of intergalactic space down into finer and finer pieces, until you reached this unit level, and then couldn't divide it any further.

Why is loop quantum gravity so interesting? Because if you run our expanding universe backward in time, it contracts, until all the matter and energy in it gets packed into just one of these incredibly tiny units. At that point, when the unit is packing within it an almost infinite amount of matter and energy, gravity (which normally is an attractive force) becomes repulsive. And THAT may explain the origin of the big bang, when all the matter/energy in our universe began to stretch out from that tiny speck.

So you see, owls? According to loop quantum gravity, there's no such thing as "nothing"!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. In fact, if loop quantum gravity turns out to be the right explanation for the beginning of our universe, "nothing" may have turned out to be almost everything!

  22. Good morning, Barb...

I love Solvang, California. I think it's one of the most unique communities. Be sure to go to some of the many wine tasting cellars and try new wines. I found one for Christmas time, a few years ago, but they said they wouldn't ship it to me, so I had to cram six bottles in my luggage. Got some anyway....neener, neener.

Have fun, and don't gain too much weight from all the fantastic food.

The fisherman is not Nothing, he's really got Something..lol

    xo

  23. Good morning, Whabby~

Will try to get pics uploaded tonight. But dang, someone swiped my pole dancing pics. Of course, I have no doubt they are others with cameras who will gleefully email me some lovely shots. LOL

Going to the camper tomorrow for one last weekend- mid 70's! Then closing it up for the winter. ;(

Hope eveyone has a good day.

Hope you all have a happy nothing day!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Congrats on #1 Birdie.
I got up this morning and found an adorable 25 pound mixed breed female dog at my gate. It's the Hush puppy mascot dog. My brain is tired and I can't think of that breed's name. As I opened my gate to go to my car the brown and white dog ran inside of the gate and then came over to me and licked me and hugged up against my legs. Of course this dog like all of the others that seem to find me has no collar. I just don't understand why people toss out their pets like garbage. It is plain to see that this dog would add wonderful companionship and happiness to someone's life but yet the owners that it cared for and trusted put it into a car, drove it to the outside of the city and dumped it like garabge.
I needed to get this off my chest. There's just too many unwanted pets any more to find them all homes. This is "adopt a shelter dog" month.
    Have a great day everyone.

  38. OMG, Wabbear!
I'm going to copy and paste that to David. You are way cool dude!
    ReneeEve
Your husband calls your plants what?! Why are men like that. Most men make me roll my eyes. David makes me roll my eyes and one of these days he says my pupils are going to get stuck in the back of my head! :0)
    OK, phone. Gotta run!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sacbarb, have a great week with your family! I hope you get time to do nothing. We'll miss you!

Ronnie, thanks for saying I did something nice--like I said to my friend, "it was nothing."

Whabbear, wow! So, you're saying we got something for nothing? That's practically unheard of! Cool stuff.

LynnD, I should be doing something, too, but I'm not.

Moweenie, Happy Yom Kippur! Thanks for asking about Mom.

Carol, I think your nothing started something.

Renee, good for you cleaning!! I've got nothing in my hands.

Goldie, you got nothin'? We want to see those pictures!!

Dreama, so sad about the dog. Maybe he's lost instead of dumped?? The animal control person once told me that your dog should ALWAYS have a collar (with info) on. My dogs do.

MEK, have fun at the movies!

Hi VIG!! Come on, you've always got something!

Thanks for the well wishes for Mom. I just saw her and she looks a lot better. The bubble is very tiny now and will be gone at any time. Her pressure is back down. She still can't see anything but light out of that eye but her eyesight will improve over the next four to six months.
