Finish the Story!

Once, in the land of fairies and trolls and other such creatures, there reigned a sweet and beautiful princess. She was loved by all, trusted and respected. Her physical beauty seemed to radiate from her smile, through her word, and into the ears of her followers. All was well in the kingdom, that is until something changed, and the princess mysteriously fell dreadfully ill. While all watched her losing her fight with life to this unknown illness, the handsome prince arrived, and when she saw him, she stood up and handed him.........

Its up to you, may your imagination's run wild!

Enjoy!

  4. Dianne I missed you! I am fine been a little bitchy and overwhelmed lately so have not been posting much!

Hope you are doing good my lovely owl friend!

A story to complete will have to wait until I have more coffee or it may not have a nice ending. As I see the beautiful princess rotten to the core this morning Carol.

  8. She hands the prince the keys to her kingdom along with her final wishes. She is to be laid to rest in her very best red wig, tassles, and white marching boots. She knows the end is near......she has had enough.

That's all I got this morning.

I better jump in the shower. I am giving blood this morning.....interesting thing to do after seeing Twilight last night. :D

I hope everyone has a fun Friday!!

  9. ZONA - lol @ come and get it!!! I thought maybe the tooth fairy arrived in the night. :P

  10. Yeah right Zona "he made breakfast" (wink, wink).

  11. Hmmm, interesting blog. I will have to think or wake up some for this as I am a touch too bleary eyed to think!

I have been off awhile because I threw up in the middle of a very nice restaurant Monday night...out of the blue. Not my brightest momement and I have been sick since then. I thought maybe I ate something bad but who knows and I did call the restaurant the next day. Maybe I lost a pound since I didn't eat again until last night.

MEK: I wanted to comment on your blog yesterday. It is very hard to pick one more day with someone for me as I would like to spend one day healthy with my parents but I still think it goes back to my husband, Joe. I guess I pick the day with him because it was so sudden and he went into a coma so quick that we barely said a word except he wanted to be sure he could go to work "tomorrow". I was sure he would as we were just at the emergency room with a "bad cold"...and as they say, you know the rest of the story. BUT after that one day then I want to go back to the prsent so he and his family would not have to deal with that grief again as it is just a couple of weeks short of 9 years now.

SHILEY: You were so sweet giving your day to MEK. It really brought a lump to my throat and it just shows what a giving and wonderful person you are....not that I didn't already know that and btw--Happy Day After Your Birthday (but at least I was on time on ms).

BONO: I loved your blog about expenses and cutting back. Lots of pointers from all the owls that day. I did want to share one little thing I do. If we are hungry for Chinese food, I sometimes will go and get it to go and lunch time and then heat it for dinner. It is half the price at lunch with just about the same size serving.

I am still in shock that I was first today. HMMMM, I wonder where that puts me in the "contest" with one or two firsts and 0 written blogs. I am sure glad it isn't a requirement to write a blog or I would be down on the ground with clipped wings and the ladder missing! :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. SHIRLEY - I saw in Area 51 that you gave your day to MEK. Just proves what a thoughtful and caring person you are. I am proud to call you friend. :D

    ReplyDelete
  13. DIANNE - lol @ clipped wings!!! Although I would love to read something of yours. You have the best sense of humor!!! JUST GO FOR IT!!!

  14. Hi Zona....you can't fool an old gal like me...."come and get it" especially coming from your house. I know all those little hints you give each other..those double meaning things like let's see: "let's jump in the pool", "look it's snowing", "get out the harness, let's go for a walk", "I am in the mood for the circus"!

    ReplyDelete
  15. JODI: Thanks and I think about writing one all the time and even talk about it but I just can't think of a topic that everyone would enjoy. I guess I must still have one or two shy bones in my body although, most people would never believe it!

Did you have fun at the movie? Did you dress like a vampire?

    ReplyDelete
  16. BTW, on my fourth comment today...I think I knew the competion was in the "air" not "hair"...duh!

LYNN: I am sorry you are feeling grumpy this morning...drink and look around for a jello shot and it might make it brighter (I think I saw grape laying around the nest last night).

    ReplyDelete
  18. DIANNE - The acting was a little cheesy, but I loved the movie!!! I didn't dress up, but about every other girl there had their Twilight t-shirts on and quotes from the book written on their arms. I had a really fun time with Sam and her friend!!! I hope you're feeling better soon!!! Oh, you forgot about ZONA'S tent!!! The girl loves to camp. :P

  25. Good Morning Dianne - I am glad you are first today. I was going to try and beat "Our Competitive One" but if you check area 51 I decided at 6:02 that I would go back to bed. I see the blog posted at 6:15 not 6:00 as I had thought.

Good Morning Lynn - Boy you were close, posting at the exact same time as Dianne.

Good Morning Zona-My-Baby, Jodi and Tina.

I have my morning chores to do and I will be back.

  26. Dianne I am so sorry you have been sick! But I had a visual of you throwing up in the restaurant and the waiter thinking "hope she is not writing the restaurant review"! Told you I am just feeling evil.

  28. The Princess stood up and handed the handsome Prince a folded note. He glanced into her weary brown eyes and then carefully opened the piece of paper. A smile spread slowly across his face, and when he looked at her...she too was smiling. "I like #4 & #7.." he said. She nodded and took his hand, leading him away saying, "Then let's go have breakfast in the snow..".

Epilogue: Not sure what that all meant..but it must have been the right prescription..because the Prince and Princess are still swimming! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. TINA, JODI and DIANNE: I don't know what you guys are talking about. ;)

Good Morning once again TINKA! I hope you have a beautiful day today!

LYNND: Really..he did..all on his own and everything.. ;)

  31. ZONA: Great end to the story and as JODI reminded me...you forgot after their swim they warmed up in the tent...the tall one!

LYNN: LOL at me writing the restaurant review. I should have pretended like I was but then I might have to go back and probably not too excited to do that right now.

What are you up to today TINK? I noticed the other day you mentioned that your son is 43 and I am still trying to figure that out since you always tell me you are 39!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good Morning Mek.

Dianne - Sorry I am so late in getting back to you. Zona called and I just got off the phone. She read your blog to me as I hadn't read it yet. It is great. You are an excellent creative writing author. I am going to have breakfast and watch Regis and then I will think of an answer to your story. I don't think I can match Zona, however, with her creativity.

To answer your second question. I made a typo when I said my son was 43. He is actually 13. I was 26 when I had him. It seems like yesterday.
Be back in a while. Have a great day.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations Dianne, #1 Hooter!

Zona, breakfast? Really? Is that what you kids call it these days?

Good morning to Dianne, Lynn_D, Zona, Carol, Jodi, Tina, Tinkatia and MEK!!

Awww, Carol I am up to my ears in writing assignments. Can I get a pass for this class? I did save a life this morning! In fact, I saved ten people/animals this morning! (See my new Home Fires post) I believe I should get the rest of the day off. Whadaya say, Carol?

  37. Busted by Jax! Gosh, okay, okay, here's my ending....

    ...a bus pass.

"You can get out of my life now, you lousy piece of..."

    "But darling, please."

"Don't darling please me! Every night you rub up against my leg like a dog in heat."

"But that is because I love you."

"It's called lust, honey, not love. When my face blushes that is not the same as my cute blushing bride-to-be, routine. It's frickin' hot in this castle! Seriously what is the heat turned up to? Am I in a castle or a nursing home? Who do I have to have ordered to the dungeon to get someone to kill the heat in here?!"

As the beautiful princess continued to royally bitch the prince out, he noticed beads of sweat lining the rim of her perfectly arced brows.

"Darling, you are perspiring. What is wrong?"

"Grrrrr.... if I knew the answer to that question, don't you think I'd have taken care of it already?"

Hearing the loud voices, the jester tried to cheer up the princess.

He walked in the room, smiled his best smile, bowed before her and said, "Hello, my lady. Aren't you looking beautiful today?"

It was as if his words broke an icy spell.

She returned the smile, patted the throne next to her for him to sit. She then ordered the prince away. Far, far away.

Not able to take her eyes off of the muscular, handsome 25 year old jester, she said, "Although I have not seen a doctor, I believe I am suffering from CougaritisMenopausalsyndrome, and you may be my only chance at a cure."

    ReplyDelete
  38. LMAO at Lois's 'cougaritismenopausal syndrome story!

    Hello to everyone.

    To finish the story...

.....a condom. She said, "Please wear this on our wedding night, so you don't get the mysterious illness that is killing me." The Prince gladly agreed.

  42. Bebbi.. You didn't read the rest of the story book..... ;)
The sad fact is that they did not wait until their wedding night. The prince and princess began to passionately kiss. She trembled with desire and begged him to take her. The prince was overcome with lust and used poor judgement. He forgot to use the condom and thus he did indeed become e afflicted with the same mysterious illness.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I deleted the first comment because I was rushing and made 2 typos.
    Hiya Wabbear!
    Okay, gotta run! Cya!

    ReplyDelete
  44. JAX: Thanks...public puking is not fun...you are right. I felt sorry for the hostess (as I was still running to the bathroom). Reminded me of my old pregnant days a million years ago!

We just had the handy-man come and change all the batteries in the smoke alarms. It was much easier than MR D trying to climb up to the high ceilings and it only took a short time and no bad words..worth $40!! It was kind of funny when he returned my call and started the conversation by "do you need your batteries changed"? I might have answered in a different way if I had even met the guy! :)

I think I will take a nap since I have been up so long already today--you know, being first and all-----

Remember....Tim McGraw on SNL this week.

  45. Happy Friday Owls.

Dianne, Congrats on #1. Did you at least get you dinner for free?

    LynnD, Are you still skulking?

Jodi, I'm going to see Twilight on Monday.

Zona, LOL @ your code words.

    Bebbi, LOL @ #6 & #9.

Loved all of your story endings. I just got back from the dentist and I will have to think about an ending for Carol's story. BBL

  46. SACBARB: We had already paid and were on our way out. I did call and they said they would send a gift certificate. I will give it to one of the kids. I really am not too anxious to go back.

BTW SACBARB AND ZONA: We are having a football (we call it a Bronco party) at our place on Sunday when we play the Raiders. Would you both like to drop by..it could be very exciting for both of you! :) Bring a snack and we will have a butterscotch shot when "our team" makes a touch down and you both can have one for your scores!

TINK: Thanks for setting me straight on the age...you were confusing me!

    ReplyDelete
  47. ............his two day old son.

"Where the hell have you been for the last nine months?", the princess demanded. "You said you were going to go check the squeek in the drawbridge and that was the last time I saw you. I have named your son Laysalot, Jr. after you."

As Prince Laysalot placed his son in his cradle, he replied, "Well, dear Princess Imabitch, you know how handy and helpful I am. I had to go help Princess Dolly fix her rack, then I had to help Princess Beyonce kneed her buns, and after that I had to help Princess Suzanne master her thighs. And by the way, Princess Imabitch, it appears that the color has returned to your cheeks and I notice you are now twice the size you once were. Why the light from the sun can barely enter the room with you standing in front of the window."

It was very, very unfortunate that a small iron kettle was within reach of the princess. Sir Laysalot never saw it coming.

    ReplyDelete
  48. some line about how she had been sitting by the fire, minding her own business when along came a toad. She told the handsome prince she thought it was he returning to the kingdom, however the next thing she knew she was fading away. She told him, apparently it was just your average, everyday poisonous toad. Well, the handsome prince didn't buy that story for one minute, for he knew she had been hitting the sauce again. He gave her an ultimatum, It is either me or the sauce. She made her decision and chose the sauce. To this day she is still sitting there with her sauce and kisses toad all day long hoping her handsome prince will return.

...a condom and says, "Show me what ya got Big Boy!!"

Bebbi already used a condom, and I think you can only use them one time (maybe some of you more experienced owls can help me out on that fact), so I will have to come up with something else. But I am off to have corned beef and cabbage now, so I will be back later.

  56. Dianne - I am up from my nap and ready to write. I think it will be obvious that this story came from an ex primary teacher.

He handed her a letter that had arrived from Dr. Knowall, a very famous doctor who had saved many fair ladies in the land of Grim. Her hand was trembling because she knew that her fate would be determined by that paper. Was there a cure or not?

The Prince, knowing how nervous his Princess was, ripped open the envelope. A smile came over his face as he read to her that Dr. Knowall was happy to inform her that the trolls had discovered mushrooms that were magically medicinal. It took only three treatments of these astonishing mushrooms and she returned to the enchanting, captivating, breathtaking Princess that she had been before her illness.

The Prince and his Princess cried with joy. He had come to tell her that his father had abdicated the throne and was making him the new King of this beautiful land. He went down on one knee and asked her to be his Queen. She had been hoping for this for a long time.

They were married by the head Troll. They had 100 fairies as her bridesmaids. Each one was wearing a gossamer pink dress. What a wonderful day it was in the kingdom.

Nine months later they had the most beautiful baby with round rosy cheeks and golden curls that encircled her head like a crown. They called their precious one "Naomi" and lived happily ever after.

  105. .....three documents. The first was the Royal Physician's prognosis that she had, at most, 2 more days to live. The second was her personal note to the Prince, in her own hand on her finest gilded stationery and bearing the King's seal signifying his approval. She had written it just days earlier during a moment of strength and clarity. It said, in part...

    "My Dearest Prince,

Until my final day on earth (which won't be long now!) I will never understand why it is that you have always been in love, not with me, but with my ugly step-sister. What you see in her I will never know. However, she too is now desperately ill and only the sound of your voice will bring her back from the brink.

Upon my death, she will assume my position of being next in line to the throne. While many in the kingdom have asked for her hand in marriage, none have proven to be 'The Chosen One' . The Royal Family all agree that the two of you --upon my death--shall become one, and that one day you will reign over the kingdom together. You must call her immediately, so that she--in her secluded secret location--can begin to regain her strength. Then you must return to your castle, to prepare it for her arrival.

With this letter, I enclose a secret Map of the Realm, with the route to her location marked--for your eyes only, so that when she is well once again, and your castle staff are prepared to receive her, you may live there together...happily ever after.

  107. Then again, maybe I'm confusing Carol's story with my real life the past couple days?? Somehow I couldn't make myself the 'sweet beautiful princess'...but I can SO relate to the "dreadfully ill" part, and the arrival of "the handsome prince". ~~ :-)

  108. BON, I think you are showing us YOUR good and giving heart.

  109. Missed you guys yesterday. Have bronchitis--temp hit 102*--slept WAY too much.

MEK~~Day before yesterday was my late mom's birthday, so your blog fit right in...I had been singing the 'One More Day' song all day. I have only one treasured video of a family reunion with all of her siblings and families. However, we used to send mini-cassette 'diary' tapes back and forth instead of letters. They are among my favorite treasures now.

I'd choose to spend that 'One More Day' with HER mother, my adorable Grandma Lillian. I'd ask all sorts of questions about her family's arrival from Sweden, homesteading in South Dakota, her teaching career, etc.

  110. Well I'm back from the corned beef and cabbage dinner. It was very yummy. I have been gone most of the day today and I will be gone all day tomorrow. So unless I sign in tomorrow night I will see you all on Sunday. Play nice!
    Good night.

  111. Lani~~My giving heart?? I'm the ugly step-sister in that saga...the one who GETS the Prince :-)

....back to bed...geesh, I've been up almost two whole hours!

  112. Lani - Your range of emotions just shows you are a well rounded personality. You are a person who everybody likes.
Do I sound like a fortune teller now?

I am procrastinating. I will wake up tomorrow and the ingredients for my mince meat will not be ready.

I sent out "flying leaves" picture comments to relieve my frustration. For the last four weeks I have paid $40 each time for my gardener to rake the leaves and carry them to the boulevard. Every person except for a couple of people have their leaves ready for collection by the city. They aren't coming to our street until next week. Tonight the forecasters are predicting 50 mph winds. I can just see what that will do to all those neat piles. I phoned the city but they said they couldn't control nature. Well, they could control their schedule for picking up the leaves. They have left it too late. Oh well, I mustn't sweat the small stuff. The only happy neighbours are the ones who ignored their leaves. They will probably blow into someone else's yard.
    Back to work.

  114. Good Friday Night Everyone!

CAROL~ What an interesting blog today! And those of you who continued the story, very clever!

Miss Olive had her one week check-up at the Vet's this morning, and she is in tip top condition, and ready to have her "Spa Day" on Monday! The DR did say she could put a pound or two on, (she weighs 12 lbs). Sure wish MY Dr would say that to me!

I chickened out and re-sheduled my MRI. I just think I may have to take a more potent muscle relaxer the day of the MRI, and my daughter was busy today, & she couldn't drive me. So, I will go on Dec 2 for it. Thank you to all who wished me well.

I felt a little bit under the weather today, too, so after Olive's appt. we came home and just vegged out, and both slept for almost 3 hours!

I did take her though, for our evening walk around 5:00, don't want to get lazy! Me or Olive, LOL!

This is a short one tonight, for me, as Miss Laurie and I have a "date". We are going out to dinner and then back home to catch up on General Hospital!

Have a fantastic Friday night, and a wonderful weekend!
    Peace and Love to all,
Donna Jean, Laurie Elizabeth, and Olive

  115. TINK, I thought I saw you reading my palm. I love your conversation with the City. Great comeback to the "We can't control the weather".

BON, I think I am out of the loop. Does this mean you got the prince and will live happily ever after?

  116. She handed him.. a nest full of night owls and said "here, pick one or two, I have a headache!!" He smiled and said,"well, there is this one cute 39 year old....."

I'm off to read the posts...

    ReplyDelete
  117. Lani - Thanks for the comment. I just wish "come backs" got things done but I have learned they don't. All they do is raise my blood pressure.

Donna Jean - I think you were wise to postpone your MRI. Some time between will help you forget that day and maybe prevent a repeat. Isn't it nice how having a dog makes you go for a walk? I think that is one of the best things about owning one. Of course it in no way matches the unconventional love one gets from a pet.

  118. Tinka, are they Maple leaves? If they are I will be right there to pick them up.. Mr Mary would love to have them for mulch in our garden!

I am reading from the bottom up and getting confused lol!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Mary - Oh I hope he picks me.
    I don't have a headache.

Donna Jean - I forgot to mention how I envy your lovely nap. I am having trouble sleeping past five in the morning and also have lost my ability to power nap in the afternoon. I don't know the reason why but it bugs me.

    ReplyDelete
  120. DonnaJean I'd been wondering about your MRI. I hope you enjoy your dinner out.

  121. Tinka~ even if you had a headache...he'd be the perfect remedy~ :)~

  125. Mary - We have mainly Garry Oak trees in this neighbourhood, plus Japanese cherry trees and fruit trees. We are surrounded by trees. My ex and son used to mulch them but now they go to 'leaf heaven'.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Tina You are in excellent form today. Two 69ers in one day!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Tinka~ Oak leaves are too rich and don't break down so easy. Maples are the best.I lived on Maple street growing up. I can still smell the leaves burning in the neighborhood. I loved it. I think there are ordinances against that now.

    Tina_69 & 169_hog/ho, how yah doin'

    ReplyDelete
  128. Mary I have maple leaves all over my lawn right now. I wish I could give them to Mr. Mary.

  129. Just_lin, he'll be right there!
btw, where am i sending him lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Mary - I remember the lovely smell in the air of burning leaves. I loved it. That is not permitted now and hasn't been for years. I miss it.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Mary I don't think he'd want to come all the way to California. LOL

    ***On a different subject......
That kid that stars in the Twilight movie...what's with his hair? He needs to visit a good dog groomer who can get that mat out!

Hope everyone has a good night..

Before I go. I can surely use some blogs for next week. (I have Thanksgiving day) Especially Monday, as I have a busy weekend, family parties back to back, and good use a break on writing one Sunday night for the Monday blog..

So if anyone has anything up their sleeve, I would appreciate it.

  134. Carol When I saw him on Ellen today, there was a big clump of hair sticking off of the right side of his head. It was like an actual mass of some sort that he kept trying to shove upward. It was bizarre.

  138. I just watched Grey's from last night's tape. It is kind of weird too. What is going wrong with these shows? I saw dozens of letters on the Ghost Whisperer site where fans are saying they will never watch the show again because of killing off Jim. I guess I am not the only one. My third season DVD arrived today at HMV DVD store. I told them I no longer want to buy it. I loved the first two seasons. I watched them twice.

Time for bed. Good Night everyone.

Great blog today Dianne. I think we came up with some good endings, don't you?

Carol - I will try to think of something but right now my mind is blank. Your poor brain must be getting tired. ((Hugs))
