Lady!

Its the good ole facial expression that can tell the whole story. Just watching Rosie you know her thoughts, no words needed. I have always adored Rosie and still do. This video is so Rosie, and I loved it. I hope she does not mind I took it off her site.

I met her at Newark airport in 2006. I had a presidents club pass, which is Continental's private club. When I walked in and scanned my surroundings for a seat, there was none to be had, so my cousin and I walked to the back, and finally thru the glass colored doors there was a available table top, we gladly set our things down, and got comfy. As my eyes came up, there she was at the very next table top, she was with Blake and her publicist Cindy. I froze and whispered to my cousin my sighting, my dear cousin was having none it, she could care less, not a huge fan. My cousin asked me if I wanted something to eat. Eat, Geez, I wanted to throw up!

I sat quietly staring every so often in her direction. I was contemplating my move. Should I approach? Or should I leave her alone. The thought of leaving her alone was getting stronger, until I realized that the oppurtunity of meeting her will probably never happen again. Its a one shot deal, and I must try to say hello. And if I did, I would have to use the bathroom first, as I was going to crap in my pants.

My first words as I approached, I remember so well. "Rosie, May I say hello" and she looked up from her lap top and said "Of course". She extended her hand to me and asked my name. She then introduced me to Blake and Cindy, who both greeted me with a hello. I then told her I was a blogger on her blog and the conversation went on, but for the life of me I cannot remember anything else other than me saying "It was so nice to meet you all, thanks for taking the time" and she replied "You are welcome, and I will see ya on the blog".

As I walked away, I was on cloud nine, and just so very happy I took the chance. She is everything I thought she would be and more. So real, So true, So kind.

Needless to say, my cousin was not impressed at all. And I did not give a crap, cause I met Rosie and that was all the mattered...

What a great memory!

  3. CAROL - Thanks for sharing that video. You're right...I LOVE Rosie's facial expressions!!! And then the clip from Slim Shady...too freakin' funny!!! And good for you for having the courage to introduce yourself to Rosie. That was a once in a lifetime moment. And what a great memory you made that day!!!

  4. Carol...How cool is THAT!!!! At least you could talk!!! I think I just would have stood there and stammered....

I saw George Clooney at the farmers Market in LA a couple of years ago. I was so surprised and in awe that I walked into a pole and spilled my purse all over the ground. By the time I picked up all my stuff (and rubbed the bump on my head) he was gone. About 15 mins later my SO sauntered up and Said "Did you know George Clooney was here?" Ummmm....yeah....

  5. That is a great memory, Carol! I'm glad you talked yourself into saying hi.

I loved that video. It was like old Rosie was back! "Two trailer park girls" line came in just at the right time!

    Congratulations Scirish, #1 Hooter!

My dream is to write for her show and when that happens, I'll get you all tickets! :D

  6. LMFAO@ Scirish! God that is funny! I mean, I'm sorry you bumped your head. HAhhahahahahaha! A-hem, glad you are okay. :D

  7. Yesterday was such a craptatious day!!! First thing in the morning I did a load of wash and then went to put it in the dryer. The dryer started making ungodly noises, so I went down to check. There was SMOKE pouring out of the bottom of the dryer!!! I yanked the plug and then tried to open the bottom panel where the smoke was coming from...I could NOT get it open, so I called the Fire Dept. They pulled up with sirens blaring and a great big ladder truck. They made me get out of the house (in my ratty bathrobe AND it was 20 degrees out AND I couldn't find the cats AND all the neighbors had to come out to see what was going on)They came back up and told me it was ok to come in, and then told me the smoke was just from the motor that was malfunctioning! I was soooo embarrassed....(they did squirt a little foam around, but I think that was just to make me feel better)

    So how was your day???

  8. Good morning everyone!

Due to a series of misfortunte events, I havn't been here to visit.

However, today is a new day and I'm ready to make it a good one.

  9. Carol, I so love your blog today.

I am a Rosie fan. Sometimes I don't always agree with her beliefs, but there is so much to her I can connect to.

  10. Holy Buckets!!!!!!!

Scirish your story made me laugh so hard!

    Wow!!

  11. Oh yeah....So after I do all this research on the computer on a new dryer, I decide to actually go to the store that carried the dryer I had selected. They all said that the dryers were in stock, so I figured I would check them out in person. There was not ONE gas dryer on the floor! Apparently, "in stock" meant in their WAREHOUSE, with a delivery time of 7-10 days. Remember the 20 degrees?? How the heck am I going to go with out a dryer for 7-10 days???

Sooooo, I went to several more stores. Some of them had gas dryers in the store, but they were $600.00 and up and looked like you needed an aeronautical degree to operate them.

I finally found one at about 4 o'clock that was a discontinued color (bisque) and we can pick it up today....Whew!

  12. I don't think I need to mention the very LARGE glass of wine I had before dinner..........

    ReplyDelete
  13. AND 4 Reese's cookies after dinner!!!

  14. Scirish, you earned a whole dang bottle of wine after that!! I'm glad all worked out with everyone safe and sound.

  15. From Area 51 - NO NEWZ - I'm glad we could entertain you!!! We were actually on the phone when that happened. So freakin' fun!!!

ITEACH - Did you shave a heart in your stuff for your hubby?!!? Good grief...I didn't realize I had to shave for our meeting today!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. NN...Didn't you get an ok to submit some stuff to Rosie??? How did that work out??? Are you waiting to hear?

btw...You just promised us tickets...IN WRITING!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Jodi, I love the fun you all have.

It's all good, I can put it in writing, Scirish, because I got faith, oodles of faith. It can happen! (said in my best Judy Tenuta voice)

Jannette Barber is the co-producer and head writer of Rosie Live, which I didn't know when I wrote to her asking for a job. So it was dumb luck that I got the right person.

She said when the smoke clears and ratings come in, then she will take a submission from me, providing NBC plans to pick the show up as a weekly.

I picked out my favorite skit. I hope the humor isn't too dark. But if she wants more than one, I'll be torn. This is the stage where self-doubt tries sneaking in. But I got my shit-kickers on ready to shove it away.

I'll keep you aBREAST as this progresses. I'm so freakin' excited!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Scirish!!! Congrats on first.

Carol: What a cool blog. I am so glad you took the time to go and approach her. I wouldn't have known what to do either. I probably would not have done it. Awesome!!

I loved that video too. I had to show it to my hubby. It was so funny. Two trailer park girls goin round the outside, round the outside...omg... TOO FUNNY!!!

Well, all. I am so happy today. I am 45 lbs down!! YAY yay yay! I have a lot to do to prepare for Thanksgiving so I probably won't be on much today. I know that no one notices anyway..LOL.

Take care and hello to all who have come in so far (Scirish, Jodi, Lois & iteach) and hello to all who fly by later.

I will probably be back later to report my steps..lol.

    Take care all!

  19. Morning Glories!

Scrishy dammit! I am not getting up at 4:00am to keep up with you! So you better watch out I will be sneaking and lurking and taking my time and then Ta Da I will take first for first for more firsts in the long run! Bwahhhhaaaaaaaa

I don't have time to catch up on yesterdays comments have to fly out of here this morning as we are putting together the Turkey Day baskets at the food bank later.

Carol I am so proud of you! How brave, I don't know if I would have had the nerve. I have always heard how gracious Rosie is when people approach her in public and by reading your story I know it is true!

I know many people don't agree with Rosie or understand where she is coming from but I love that she speaks her own truth! I admire her for her ability to say what she needs to.

Scrishy all joking aside. Glad you found a dryer yesterday! Did you meet any cute firemen??

Lois I keep forgetting to tell you good luck! I am really pulling for Rosie's new show and now more so. I think it would be fantastic if you got a shot at writing for her!

Hey Iteach saw Jodi's comment about shaving a heart in something and well....I am just not going to go there as my head is working overtime trying to block the visuals.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  20. BTW if anyone wants to read that test material I plan to send, and you are willing to give me honest to goodness tough love criticism, I'll email it to you, just let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  21. NN..do you have any of your writings posted on Myspace? Request me as a friend...I'd love to read some!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Scirish: I have been through that same ordeal with a dryer and calling the fire department. The lint caught fire. They didn't even spray any foam either, so you must have nicer firemen than I do. That was when I lived in Virginia. Thanks for bringing back that memory..LOL Okay..really going..have to walk and then have to clean the carpets in the dining room woo hoo.

  23. Thanks Lynn_D, it means a lot to me knowing you're rootin' for me. :)

    Bebbi, you are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Scirish, I have a ton of stories out there on the web, but nothing I plan to send to the show. I wouldn't want my sketches stolen. Most of my "best" material never makes it online.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LYNN D - Sorry for the visual....sometimes I just can't help myself!!!

NO NEWZ - I would love to read your skit....and I would give you my honest opinion, but truth be told, from what I've already read of yours, I'm sure it's freakin' hilarious!!!

Ok....just got the apple crisp in the oven (ssshhhhh....don't tell GOLDIE!!!), then I guess I have to go shave my legs for ITEACH!!! I hope she remembers her camera, cuz my daughter thinks she can't live without hers today.

I'll report back in later. :D

  26. Thanks Jodi, you are too kind! It's on the way via MySpace message. Have fun on your date and go easy on Iteach, she is going to need some energy to share with the mister on their anniversary!!

  28. Good for you Carol that you were able to meet Rosie. I know that Joey is was in Heaven when he met her. I don't have time to read view her blogs as often as I like but I did get her e-mail about her charity dinner. The tickets range to an OMG $25,000. With the pricey seats you get to meet Rosie and Rosie mentions your name on stage.
Skirish you are #1 queen by now.Good morning No Newz and don't forget about my PR resume!Bebbi congrats on the 45 pounds. Awesome! Good morning LynnD. I hope you have a lovely day and that the Midol that I sent you helped with your irritablility. xoxo

  29. Good morning ladys and Whabbear (u there?).

That was my "delete". I somehow dropped a sentence and my blog made no sense!

I am on my way to Lansing to watch over 1,000 Special Olympians compete in bowling & "poly hockey".

Our temps. got down to 17` last night!
Someone please send us some heat!

    Carol~ Loved your Rosie story.

    Scrish, I am wondering what time you take your "I-got-up-too- early-to-post- # -1 in-the-nest" nap.LOL!!!
Scrish, you were lucky it wasn't a fire. We weren't so lucky.I have mentioned this here a long time ago, on our dryer, the fan quit working and the motor didn't get the message to "cool down". By the time Mr Mary realized what was happening the flames were in the wall! He almost left to go bowling and my son & I were still sleeping!
We had a lot of damage, and it took a couple months of repair, but at least we all survived. My son who worked 3rd shift had put laundry in the dryer and went to bed. We have 3 smoke detectors, but because the flames were shooting in the walls, the alarms didn't go off until Mr Mary & Son dragged the dryer outside. NEVER leave dryers unattended!!!

    Ok, I'm off to Lansing.
    OH, I almost forgot..
Missy Jodi, could you pretty please send me your apple crisp recipe! My neighbor gave me a bushel of apples.

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!

  31. Holy Crap, it's early! (at least for little ole me)

    Good Morning Everyone!

SCIRISH~ Congrats AGAIN for #1! And for all your travails of yesterday, I agree you did deserve that nice glass of wine, although it would have been the whole bottle if it were me! I have always bought my appliances at SEARS, and have had good luck so far. They ususally have something in stock right there at the store. So glad you found one.

And your George Clooney story was great, but I am sorry for your poor head! If any of you watch the Ellen show, she is trying to catch George in his "Office" at the studio where she tapes her show. It is quite hilarious. I know its all a joke, and George will come on one day, but its fun to watch! I love how she decorated his place for Halloween!

JODI~Shave your legs??? It's WINTER (almost), just put on some tights and cute skirt or pants! Isn't it snowing in WEsconsin?? I can smell your Apple Crisp all the way to my little office in Sonoma County! Is this a secret recipe, too? Or did you already post it, when I Blogged about Fall Comfort Foods? This old memory is just the pits. I would love to have it if you can share! Have fun today with ITEACH!

LL~ Hi! I am so hoping that it all works out for you to be able to be a contributing writer for Rosie's new show. I am sure it will be picked up! It sounds just like something we all would want to watch. I can't wait for Wednesday's premier! And I would LOVE to read some of what you are ready to submit. I don't have MySpace, but CAROL, (sweet, sweet Carol) has my email, so you could get it from her, or are they all on your Blog?

ITEACH~ Welcome back, you were missed!. I hope things are going better for you. Have fun today with Miss Shaved Legs Jodi!! Make sure you check, and don't forget your Camera, she won't have one with her!

BEBBI~ CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wow, 45 lbs!!That is my goal. Is this all just from walking, or are you eating differently too? Just wondering, because I have started a walking program with my new little Doggie, but I am sure I am not getting in the steps you are. You are just AWESOME!

LYNN D~ I so agree with you. We on the West Coast are at such a dis-advantage with getting #1!! Unless we set our alarms for 4:30 and then sit and wait at the computer for a new Blog to magically appear! Don't think I will be doing that! This getting up at 6:30/7:00 for Miss Olive to go potty, is way early enough for me. Especially on Saturday's.

I usually would wake up around 7:30, get a nice cup of hot tea, climb back in bed and read for a couple of hours before Miss Laurie woke up. I sure hope Olive will learn soon, that after potty time, its bedtime again, at least for a couple of hours on the weekend! Then we will go for our nice walk.

MARY/MI~ Good Morning! Have fun at the Special Olympics! My Laurie used to particiapte all the time when she was younger. Nothing like seeing those young men and women, and kids having the time of their lives "competing" with each other. I can remember so many times at the Track & Field events, when one runner would stumble, how almost everyone would stop running and go back to help the other one up. That just brings tears to my eyes, thinking about it! I think now that her heart is stonger she may want to go join the Bowling League again. And thanks for the nice comment over in Area 51! We sure fell in love with both you and your beautiful niece, Raquel!

MEK~ Good Morning! Hope you also have an excellent day? What's up? Some golf?

CAROL~ I did see that clip on Rosie's Blog, and actually watched the View that day when Barbara said that. I was very disappointed that no one, not even Joy really said anything back. And then Elisabeth had a snide comment, that really irked me! I so am sick and tired of her, I so wish she would just go to Fox and do her own thing there!

I do like the View, I love Whoopie so much, Joy makes me roll my eyes at times, but most often she is spot on with her criticisms and humor. Sherri just needs to learn how to be stonger, and not let the "Blond One" run all over her views. OK, enough of my 2 cents about The View!

Anyway, loved seeing the clip again. Reminds me of the "Old Rosie", and why we all fell in love with her to begin with. Yes, she has changed with the years. We all do. My beliefs have definitely changed and become stronger, and sometimes too vocal as well!

I did order her First Season DVD when she was on HSN, I tried to stay on the line to talk with her, but it didn't work out. Miss Laurie and I love watching the old shows so much! Remember when Newsweek put her on the cover and named her "Queen of Nice"?? LOL!

I am so glad you took that "Leap of Faith" and went over to her and talked to her. I believe she really still is "Queen of Nice", people just see her honesty as being arrogant, and I don't think she means it that way, although sometimes, maybe!

Well, everytime I Preview and am ready to Publish, a New Owl flies in!

So Good Morning to all who land after I FINALLY hit Publish, right now!

I will check in later after my walk with Olive and see what mischief anyone has gotten into. (Or is it still to early for mischief)? NO WAY, it's always Trouble time somewhere!

    Peace and Love to all,
    NO on H8,,
    Donna Jean

  32. Good morning, owls! Quick one here, as I have to go up and play a tennis match this morning at Terra Linda High School...

Carol: I think you were born for blogging! You're really been a supportive force over in the colony these last few days. Kudos to you!

Bebbi: Congrats to you too! That's fantastic!

Scirish: Hugs! What an uncomfortable scene!

  33. MEK~ I just got back from my walk, and re-read my post and I didn't mean to add a ? to you having an excellent day! My mistake. I meant Have an excellent day!

Off now to do some housework, the family is all converging next week at my house, and I have alot to do.

But, then I think, its all going to get messed up again, so why bother?

But, I do like it to look nice at least for 5 minutes, when they all walk in!

  34. scirish Congrats on #1. You have definitely made a habit of it. OMG! Your George story and your dryer story had me laughing so hard! So, glad everything worked out and you were able to get a new dryer. Now, Goldie had a fireman drop his pants in front of her. Did you get a similar show or did you just have to stand outside in your ratty robe with no compensation?

Bebbi Congrats on the 45 lb weight loss. You are doing so good!

Carol I'm not much of a Rosie fan but I'm happy for you that you got to meet her.

LL/NoNewz I'll be rooting for you, too. If you get the job, you'll have to change your name to GoodNewz. LOL

  35. Well....i dared to call HOdi again~ whew....thank GOD she gave the phone to iteach~ :D Actually, i called to talk to Mr. Iteach....but they wouldn't let me talk to him....i wonder why~ :)~ Glad you three are having fun~

Scirish~ congrats on first~ I think I would have walked right up to GC if I saw him....I don't seem to have a problem doing that! I just have to keep saying to myself....these people (celebrity types) get diarrhea just like the rest of us....so there ya go~

NN/LL~ send me your stuff...i love reading anything you write~

Bebbi~ can't wait to hear how many steps you take today~ congrats on the weight loss~

    LynnD~ maybe tomorrow~

  36. Well crap....i forgot to comment about the blog~

Carol~ so glad you got to meet Rosie~ I've seen so many people miss out on meeting their hero's because they chicken out. When I worked for See's Candies, Florence Griffith Joyner came in and one of the stock boys went ga-ga over her, but would not approach her. He came to me and asked if I'd get her autograph for him. I did.....but then I realized IT WAS FLO-JO~.....so i kept it and told him to get his own~ :)~

  37. Happy Saturday Owls.

Scirish, first again! So the firemen came with their long hoses and you had to stay outside? Bummer!

I saw Taye Diggs at the Four Seasons in Maui. We were going to lunch by the pool. He was wearing a bathrobe and waiting to get on the elevator as we were getting off. He smiled really big and said hello, kinda to all of us and all I could do was gasp and it was over...elevator gone with him in it! No one I was with knew who he was so I couldn't even gush to them.

  38. Carol, I saw the view the day Barbara said that and I was very disappointed in her. Something must have prompted her saying that, but I don't know what it was. Thanks for sharing the clip. I rarely get a chance to go on Rosie's blog.

  39. NN/LL, How exciting that you may get to send something for Rosie's show. I bet it does get picked up. I would love to read more of your stuff. You are very talented and funny too.

  40. Bebbi, I an so jealous. I lost 40 lbs. but I had to start taking prednisone and I have gained back almost 20 and it has been a real struggle to just keep it at that. What kind of pedometer do you have? I think I should get one because I think I walk more than I probably do.

  41. GOOD ARTERNOON EVERYONE
CAROL, I enjoyed your Rosie story and video. I once was at a reception that a local newscaster was also attending, and I finally went over to him and blurted out, "I am a fan of yours". How lame!

SCIRISH, What an ordeal. I guess not only should we never leave the house with ratty underwear, we should always be prepared with a lovely bathrobe just in case. Yours is a good reminder to never leave the dryer unattended. As for your pole dance, I had a similar one with a pothole. Fairly harmless, however very embarrassing.

ITEACH, don't forget to admire HODI'S legs. And remember to take your bib with you.

NN/LL, I saw Rosie on a show recently and she expressed that it is too bad her show is on a Thanksgiving traveling night. I think she will still have a large audience.

BEAR, Good luck at the tennis match.

BEBBI, congratulations on your weight loss.

TINA, LMAO...These people get diarrhea like the rest of us.

  46. SACBARB, Kudos to you for losing weight. I know the prednisolone is a bummer. You have to feel good for your effort,as opposed to me who is sitting here in my bathrobe gaining weight as we speak. And I didn't even learn my lesson about bathrobes from SCIRISH this morning. On top of everything I am sitting here paranoid, waiting to be called out of the house suddenly.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks Lani, I would feel good about it but I have 600 more lbs. or so to lose, so those 20 is like taking a grain of sand off the beach. Maybe you and Scirish should both ask Santa for a new robe for Xmas.

  48. HAPPY SATURDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING EVERYONE!

(trying to get all the West Coast, Mid West, East Coast & Canada Owls all accounted for)

Good Grief, we ARE all over the place! How we all can converse with each other is mind boggling! I post when I am eating breakfast, then most of you are having lunch or running errands, and all I can think of is Please More Sleep!

Then, when I come back from doing all the crap (yes, I am now picking up crap, LOL) that I need to do all day, and am ready to chat, most of you are doing your dinner duties, etc!

Sometimes I feel like I am in a time warp!

Morning, Yes. Morning, No, it is Noon. Afternoon Yes, uh, No, it is evening! And then to top everything off, you all on the East Coast, and places in between, get to see all the good shows on TV much earlier than us! It is so unfair!!

SACBARB~Hi, I have missed you! Hope you had a fun time in San Diego. I missed a couple of Blogs, so forgive me for asking some questions you might have already answered. How was the GrandDog? And did you get to meet up with your Sorority Sister? Hope you got to go out and eat at some great restaurants. I LOVE San Diego! I went there several times many years ago, and always had a fabulous time.

You may have read that Miss Laurie and I adopted a little Doggie last week! I will not bore everyone with all the details again, but Miss Olive, is adorable, and has so adapted to our house, its amazing. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will continue!

And, you my Sweet Friend, DO NOT need to lose 600 lbs!!!LOL. I know you were being sarcastic, but you are so cute, just the way you are.

I know, we all want/need to lose a few or more pounds. It is for our heart, blood pressure, etc. And that damn Prednisone will do it to us every time.

I am hoping that walking Olive twice a day for at least a half hour will help me. I am not expecting a miracle, maybe just a little bit, and hopefully, my BP will get better.

I am off now to catch up on my Soaps! I have also DVR'd "Life On Mars," "Eli Sone" and "Grey's Anatomy". I have so much catching up to do. I will definitely be a Couch Potato" for the rest of the day!

    Peace and Love to all,
    Donna Jean & family!

  49. TINKA ~ I just read on Yahoo News that there was a huge Meteor show on the the West Coast of Canada!

I watched the video and it was quite spectacular.

I hope that you and VIG were able to see it.

WHABBEAR~ Any new info on this?? Hope your Tennis Game went well. Say Hi to Huz for me and Miss Laurie.

  50. SacBarb~600lbs?? come on girl, remember I saw you at the BBBQ, you silly girl.We are both "pleasingly plump" lol! I have to lose at least 20lbs. As Paw Kettle used to say "one of these days Maw".

NoNewz~ I was going ask you to send me your work, but realized you are not on my myspace. please grab it from one of the other owls. That's me standing in front of a humongous door.

Donna~ I got to the bowling ally a little late and missed a miracle! One of the young men bowled a 600! It has never been done at their level. He was so proud. He gave me the thumbs up sign. Geesh I never averaged over 140!

Mr Mary just got in from hunting. We are going out to dinner. Catch yah all later....

  51. Thanks Lois, Lani, Just lin, Tina, Sacbarb (great job on your weight loss too!), Donna Jean, whabby, and anyone I may have missed who said congrats. I am so proud of my weight loss.

I am going to go out and walk right now but I am at 8,071 steps so far today. I really am doing what I need to do to lose it and I am feeling so much better. Knee problems = way better, breathing = super duper!, attitude = getting better every day. I had my sister take a picture of me today on our nature walk. I will upload it to MS later.

    I really appreciate everone's kudos.

Sacbarb: I feel for you about putting the weight back on. Prednizone (sp?) is notorious for that and I hope that you are able to get it off again when you can.

iteach: How have you been doing on your walking lately?

Donna Jean: I have been eating more healthy and walking. I used www.fitday.com to keep a food log. I take alli and I am using slim fast. Basically, I have been changing a lot of unhealthy habits.

I will bbl. Have a good one everybody!

  54. CAROL...what a awesome memory to have! I am glad to hear that Rosie was so nice and friendly. I hate it when celebs are not nice to their fans. After all, it is the fans that make them the celebs they are.

As you may know, when I lived in L.A I had a lot of opps to meet celebs. I never invaded their space...admired from afar, UNLESS they were shopping in my store! That was MY space, so I felt it was ok to speak to them and ask for autographs! I have 3 books of autographs.

ITEACH...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! You and Mr. ITEACH are just too adorable!

JODI and GOLDIE...I am so jealous of the time you get to spend together! I so would like to meet my internet friends.

SCIRISH...you are gonna get the lead soon! I sure hope you and LYNN D don't get into a cat fight over it!

    DIANNEpukinginpublicinDENVER...hope you are feeling better!

ZONA...get well wishes to Mr. ZONA.

NoNEWZ...still got my appendages crossed for you! I'll be glad to accept the tickets when you write for Rosie!

  55. BEBBI...of course you are missed when you are not here. Great job on the 45lbs!

    ReplyDelete
  56. That's really cool Maureen. Okay, now for the questions..who was your NICEST and FAVORITE celeb you ever met and why? And, on the other hand..who was the one that you did not really like and why!

I love asking that..of all the people I have met who have met many celebs on a regular basis. One acquaintance of mine said that her fave was Michael Jordan. I can't remember who she said was her least favorable.

  57. I posted my pics from today's walk on myspace (under November pics). Remember, I have on two pairs of pants, three shirts and a coat. So you can't really tell how much weight I have lost very easily.

  58. DJ: Yes, I did read an article about it! Last I heard, they had footage from a couple of surveillance cameras, and were trying to triangulate to try and determine where it might have landed... somewhere in Alberta,I think.

It would have been fun to see live!

Lani: Thanks! I won! I won!

SacBarb: Are you back home yet? Any news on the rally today?

  59. GODDAMMIT! Those ultra-irritating Oregon State Beavers just got to first and goal against U of A!

This may prevent the Buckeye's from getting to the Rose Bowl.

    Isn't that awful, owls?

    ReplyDelete
  60. BEBBI...Most all of the celebs I met were very friendly and gracious. I think my favs are still Lauren Bacall, Jane Seymour, Dom Deluise, Patty Duke, George Carlin, Jimmy Smits and Lee Currieri. The only "not so nice one" was Harrison Ford. Ringo Starr was very nice AFTER he complained about the salesperson!

A long time ago, I wrote a blog about my encounters on my old myspace. If I still have it somewhere, I will post it again.

  61. WHABBY...it goes without saying...I AM A BUCKEYE FAN!! We did win today. Maybe I won the 25 bucks at work!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Whabby - YES, that is ultra-irritating - CUZ - I could be at that game!!!
    :-)

It's a beautiful night for football.

I've been hold up in a scrapbook store all day!!

BUT - the Mountaineers won today!!

  71. I'm just getting to read the blog since Thursday! I have company and more coming tomorrow and more arriving on Weds. so I've hardly had a minute to myself!

I just read yesterday's blog and comments and enjoyed laughing at your fairy tale endings! You owls are so creative.

I loved today's blog, too, Carol! How great that you met Rosie! I've always liked her and really hope her new show becomes a regular. (For the sake of Lois, too!)

If I don't get to stop in for the next few days, I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I will be saying a prayer of thanks for all my owl friends.

  72. BEAR, I see congratulations are in order. I used to play tennis (not very well)then because of my lower back I could no longer lunge. Very frustrating. Maybe I will try again.

  76. I had a busy day and night!

I have a honeymoon couple who were suppose to leave for Antigua tomorrow.. However while at my Uncles party, they called me.. His passport is expired, he just looked at it as they were packing...

    WHAT!!!!

This reservation has been booked since last March!

Oh my, I wanted to flip.. I kept my business like manner, excused myself from the party and went out in the hallway... So many phone calls later.. and I am still dealing with them..

Then on the drive home, because my mind was on them I took South instead of North on the GSP..
I was driving South for like 5min until I realized it..

    So a 20min ride turned into a 45min ride..

I am waiting for them to call me back now....

    So... How was your day?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh, and my fathers voice is still ringing in ears.. cause when I announced I was going in the wrong direction....

    Cici... had lots to say!

    Oy vey...

    ReplyDelete
  78. Tina;
I wish I was fucking high...

    Mo:
Hi and Hi right back attcha!

    ReplyDelete
  79. CAROL...is there any way they will be able to go even if he doesn't have a valid passport? Can you book them somewhere, like Puerto Rico, that is a U.S territory that may not require the passport thing?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Scirish:
I see you had good day yesterday???

Were any of the firefighters cute?

    ReplyDelete
  81. cpgem - it shouldn't be YOUR fault that he JUST noticed that...

    geez

    ReplyDelete
  82. Mo:
You are so smart... That is exactly what I said to them, and they are discussing it... I told them to Call Continental and change the ANU flight to SJU.. That is what I am waiting on...

I was not calling Continental for them.. If it was a weekday I would have.. But there are times, I must let go.. and this is the time...

  83. Mek:

Carol~ i hate those calls....i would have referred them to the airline if I were you....you're so nice~ Those calls are the ones where i just want to wring the psgrs neck! AND they usually want us to change their tkt without a penalty! Uh DUH!!! Who's fault is this??!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. lol at Miss Roadkill.......

    Tina:
I did just that... and yes...
    DUH is so right!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Carol~ now that i think about it...when i went to Mexico, I didn't check my passport before going...and almost had a heart attack when I remembered that some countries require the passport to be good for at least six months. Mine was expiring in June and i was going in April! I SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!! Thank God Mexico didn't require that~

    ReplyDelete
  88. Tina - no need to worry - the border isn't that secure - we would have let you back in!!!

    ReplyDelete
  89. MAUREEN. Not a stupid question.
LAHnee, a short a sound, or as J/L would say Slani.

Smehow it doesn't surprise me that Harrison Ford wasn't the nicest.

  90. I'm watching the news.....

today was the Tour De Tucson Bike race and some elderly man turned left into a group of 20 riders, hit 10 of them - five were taken to the hospital and one is still in critical condition....

AND - this person left the scene..

    GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Tina:
Usually only European counties have that requirement...

They just called.. They are going to P. Rico. They changed the air themselves... and called the hotel I recommended and made a reservation...

No I have to deal with the hotel in Antigua and try to get their money back.. I am getting a headache just thinking about it...,

  98. I installed some updsates to my browser today and now I get that annoying security alert everytime I try to post here. Does anyone remember how to disable it?

    ReplyDelete
  99. J/L, Here is the info to disable the security alert.

    If you're on Internet Explorer:
    1. Go to 'Tools' on IE
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. On 'Internet Options', open the Security Tab.
    4. Select "Custom Level"
    5. Scroll down to 'Miscellaneous' (near the bottom).
    6. Within Miscellaneous, find subsection for 'Display Mixed Content'
(this is for Secure/Unsecure, i.e. text AND photos, etc.)
    7. Set 'Display Mixed Content' radio button to 'ENABLE'
(default is 'Prompt', which is what causes the lockbox to come up every time)
    8. Click on 'Apply' at the bottom of that IE controls window.
    9. Click on 'OK' box at bottom left.
    10. Close Internet Explorer to get the change to 'take'.
11.Reopen Internet Explorer, sign back into the blog, & you'll no longer get the lockbox, and will be able to see profile photos, etc.
