Oh Christmas Tree

Christmas Trees are just so very special
they remind us our childhood and
its magical existence
when the Christmas Tree is decorated
with all its sparkly lights
and the ornaments that mean so much
it comes alive

When we see our Christmas Tree
all decorated we now know that
Christmas has begun

The Christmas Tree in all its decor
brings us hope, it humbles you, and allows you to dream
but most importantly, it adorns you the memories
of Christmas Trees past

  2. I will enjoy your tree.. I haven't had a tree for about 5 years now... it took me all day to put it up.. and probably only took little Gus about 5 minutes to tear it down...
yup,, came home from work and he had it up side down in the midle of the living room... and my four oldest and favorite ornaments chewed up in the floor...
soooo I put it all in the attic and haven't touched it since...
We go to my MIL's on christmas so i get to enjoy a tree on christmas...
hope everyone has a great day...
supposed to the busiest day of shipping of the year... hope I survive...
Waving a wing at all who land today...

And thanks again for all the wonderful comments yesterday...

  3. IBB - Congrats on first!!!

CAROL - I haven't even put the tree up yet. Maybe today. I was going to go shopping today, but we have a wind chill advisory til noon. The wind chill is currently -18!!! CRAP!!! It was bad enough out that when I took the kids to school, I had to keep scraping the INSIDE of the windows to see. Not a fun day in WESconsin!!! :P

    IBB - congrats on FIRST!!

I can't believe that Gus, that sweet, adorable, little guy could have done THAT!!! LOL

Jodi - sorry, it's so cold outside!!

  7. cpgem -- (the video is disabled) - but i love your words about the Christmas tree!!

There's nothing MORE fun than pulling the box of ornaments out and with each one that is placed on the tree - remembering it's special memory - who gave it to you, or why you bought it and when you bought it........

    thank you!!!
    :-)

  8. IBB~~WooHoo...you're catching up!

Jodi~~You need to move here where it's warm....There's no wind, so my wind chill is a balmy 8*! Actual is 21*.

It's been snowing steadily since midnight, but only have about 4-5 inches as the flakes are more like sugar granules.

    ReplyDelete
  9. MEK~~I totally agree about the special ornaments. I gave ALL the sentimental ones to my daughter a couple years ago for their tree since they're never here for Christmas. I enjoy doing a 'theme' tree, but it's just not the same as all those "remember when?" dated and special ornaments.

Now we both I make sure we get a personal ornament for the g'daughter each year, so she'll have her own when the time comes.

Feeling much better today. Thanks for the Area 51 shout-outs!

  11. Morning Glories!

    Ibb way to go! First!

Christmas trees are beautiful but the last few years have been a chore to drag everything out. I understand now why some people leave their trees up and keep the lights on the house! LOL

I might have beat you Ibb but I had to warm the car up and scrape the ice and snow off! It is a balmy 15 degrees here this morning! With windchill I would say even lower. I could feel my leg hairs freezing and breaking off when I ran Mr. Lynn D to his ride share.

    Morning MEK, Jodi, and Bono!

Will be back in a bit.

  12. Once upon a time all our ornaments were VERY organized. I meticulously (sp?) wrote on the box who bought whom the ornament and the year. Well, one year MR. JODI helped take the tree down when I was in bed sick and not ONE thing got put away correctly. And most of the boxes got trashed. Thankfully I did have the foresight to put the kids initials on all their ornaments, so we at least know which ones belong to which kid.

MEK - I too love reliving the memories that each ornament brings!!!

Waving a wing at BON*BON!! lol @ moving to where it's warmer!!

  13. LYNN D - lol @ leg hairs freezing!! I was just telling ZONA this morning that the absolute worst is when you have a runny nose and all the snot in your head crystalizes!!1

  18. Good morning and congrats on 1st IBB!

Good morning Jodi, Mek, Bon'O, Lynn D and Carol!

Love the homemade video Carol! Your tree is beautiful! Your mom did a great job!

I am still debating putting a tree up. I don't have any decorations up either except a snowflake my friend's son made me for going to his concert last week. I'll think about it some more.

    ReplyDelete
  19. CAROL - Thank you for sharing your beautiful tree with us!! Ceramics....oh, that brought back a memory or two!! My Aunt Karen and my Grandma BOTH did ceramics!! THANK YOU for the walk down memory lane today. :O) :O)

    ReplyDelete
  20. SHIRLEY - Don't feel bad, I haven't put my tree up yet, either. I'm seriously thinking about a Christmas branch!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Morning All!

Lynndeeeee...Lol at your leg hairs breaking off....At least you won't have to shave???

Jodi...I'm with you on that Christmas branch!!!

Carol...Can you send your Mom to my house? I just can't seem to get with it on this decorating thing.

Thanks for all the Birthday comments....I had a terrific birthday and a terrific weekend..but my tummy doesn't feel so good today...Could it be all the wonderful junk I ate this weekend??? Nawwww

  22. The person I made peanut brittle for stopped by yesterday to pick it up and commented on the fact that I didn't have a tree up yet. She said I have to have a tree. Why do I have to have a tree? It isn't like she is going to come over again. Well, not until tax time anyway. This all seems to bother everyone else more than it does me. Why? Actually I guess the fact that I am mentioning it shows that it bothers me. Too much thinking, I need coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ok, good, glad its working...

    Busy at work this morning..

I will be back in a bit to comment...

    :O)

  24. Good morning Scirish! Glad you had a good birthday!

IBB's birthday is Saturday, but does Mary have a birthday this week too??

    ReplyDelete
  25. Okay Laughing my Ass off! I do not and have not ever used a grave cover for my tree! LOL

We call them Tree Skirts Carol. Which seems appropriate as it is the skirt wearer in my house who generally puts the tree up! LOL

Your tree is beautiful and puts mine to shame this year!

I have done theme trees and family throw it together trees and clear lights and colored lights. Most of my older ornaments I have given to the kids for their first trees. Last year I did a theme tree. I guess you could call this years tree an "Homage" to Recession! Fiber optic and no ornaments.

I used to do ceramics a long, long time ago. Maybe I should take it up again. Hmmmm

Jodi what is the worst, is crystilized snot and frozen nose hairs together! Makes blowing the nose a very painful experience!

  26. Some of you were mentioning the cold temps. The Prairie provinces out west here are very cold right now. In Regina, Saskatchewan it is -23F with a windchill of -51F! They say your skin will freeze in minutes. I'll keep my 50F thank you very much!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I forgot to mention about the tree skirt. I was shouting "It's a tree skirt Carol, a tree skirt!" as I was watching the video. LMAO!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Good morning!

Cute video Carol, and the tree is lovely :)

We put up a small metallic tree, it is on the dining room table. Nothing fancy, easy to put up and easy to put away.

Congrats on 1st IBB!! Yipee! I forgot to tell you that I loved the video you submitted yesterday!

We are finally getting some rain here. It's cold and ugly outside so I'm staying in today.

I was surprised that Bob won Survivor, surprised that Suzie got any votes and surprised that Sugar got none at all.

Back to the laundry! Have a nice day everyone!

    WHY GOD MADE MOMS

Hope you have a good laugh...
Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

    Why did God make mothers?
    1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
    2. Mostly to clean the house .
    3. To help us out when we were getting born.

    How did God make mothers?
    1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
    2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
    3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?
    1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
    2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
    1. We're related.
    2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
    1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
    2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
    3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
    1. His last name.
    2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
    3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
    1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
    2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
    3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
    1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
    2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
    3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?
    1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
    2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
    3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
    4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
    1. Mothers don't do spare time.
    2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
    1. On the inside she's already perfect.. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
    2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
    1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
    2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
    3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head

    Congrats on first IBB!

EBJ~ Loved it espec. "some kind of plastic surgery" lol!!

Many years ago we had "real" trees, about 12'( we have 18'ceiling), we went to fake 12'then to fake 8'. Now we have one sitting on a coffee table about 4'. I expect the next one will be a miniature tree in my nursing home lol!!

It went from 47* temp. at 3:00am this morning to windchill of -12*!
    The wind gusts are horrible!
I was going shopping today, but I decided to stay put!

  34. Well according to my thermometer on the front porch is is now 25 degrees! I don't think our dog Seamus believes me tho, as his pee was frozen by the time it hit the ground! Good thing he lifted his leg.

  35. Happy Monday Owls.

Carol, Your Mom did a great job with the tree. It is beautiful. I love the memories each ornament brings. Since all my boys will be here this year (YAY) I am going to divvy out the sports ornaments that my Hubby bought through the years.

We bought an angel for our tree top for our first Christmas and after about 15 years she was looking pretty sad. I decided to buy as nice new angel and when I put it on the tree all the boys had a fit. They all wanted the old angel back. So I cleaned her up the best I could and she is still on my tree. The boys still talk about the year I tried to change the angel.

  36. Lynndeee....Just catching up on comments and had to tell you that your rummage sale finds sound fantastic!!!

  37. Carol, I used to do ceramics, too, but I couldn't paint eyes so I never made people.

    Jodi, brrrrrrrr

Bon, I give a dated ornament to my kids and my grandson every year.

    Delores, awwwwww

LynnD, LMAO at the Mom's definitions. Some Mom's have more than 'one dab' of mean. Just ask my kids.

    From area 51:

Jl/ and MEK, Thanks for the birthday wishes for Dean.

Waving wildly at all the other Owls. Working this afternoon at Christmas Promise and I have a sorority meeting tonight, so I will probably be back very late. Have a great day, all.

  38. It seemed like it took forever for me to get the house decorated and I did the tree last. Well last night, when we got back from dinner, everyone came in and we turned the tree lights on. It is a fake tree that already has the lights on it and it comes in three parts. Well, only the bottom part lights up. We tried everything and can't get the top two parts to light up. CRAP!!!! Maybe I'll just go get one of those fiber optic lights like Lynn has. arrrggggg

  39. cpgem -- I just watched your video -

LOVE your tree!! Mom's have that way of making everything special!!

We always had a star on the top of our tree - so when I got my own place - I bought an angel!! Still have her.....

Many years ago - my little brother put a santa hat on the top of mom's tree while decorating as a joke - and now, she puts the santa hat up there!!!

waving howdy to those that landed after my last post - Bono, Lynn D, cpgem, Shirley, scirish, EBJ, Mary, Delores, and SacBarb..

  40. Hey where is everybody? I just went outside as the sun is out and thought huh lets see how that temp is doing. Well the wind blew right through my polar fleece shirt and I now have titcicles! Gonna have to pad those babies up before I go to run errands!

    ReplyDelete
  41. IBB Congrats on #1!

Delores Congrats on the puppies! How fun!

SacBarb I have the same angel on top of the tree that I've had since the mid 70's. It's the only topper my kids remember so it stays. When the kids were little I would take the time to string popcorn to make a garland. I don't have the patience for that anymore but I still put candy canes on it as the finishing touch.

Carol I loved your video! Really loved it but why you would think something you put around a Christmas tree would be called a grave cover is beyond me! LMAO!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. LynnD, LOL @ titcicles. Better put on lots of padding.

    ReplyDelete
  43. LynnD Be careful of those titcicles! You don't want to accidentally break off a nipple! LMAO!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Shit J/L~ THAT is the quote of the day for tomorrow~ lmao...titcicles~

    IBB~ congrats on first~

    Jodi~ I'm still pretending it's not cold....only wearing a sweatshirt....I keep telling myself, if I put that jacket on, it's all over.....~

MEK~ wanna put up my ornaments? That part drives me crazy....we make the kids do it~

Carol~ I loved your video~ At first I thought...who the hell is that....I've heard that voice before~ So cute~ thanks for sharing~ Our tree went up last night (magically all by itself!) but we ran out of time and will put the ornaments on tonight. I found two White House ornaments that I didn't know we had....I guess they were gifts to the hubby from some students. I used to buy the kids each an ornament, but now we have way too many, so I stopped. (there are even NASCAR ornaments!) :)~

DeeDee~ congrats on becoming a grandmother....I promise not to tell anyone that you really are an old softie~ ...oops...i just did~ :D

Mary~ just wonderin'....did you have any special dreams last night :)~ lol~

LynnD~ I keep picturing someone kicking you and your leg hairs falling to the ground~ :D

Oh and Carol...did anyone tell you yet that it's a TREE SKIRT? lol~ My mil made ours...it's nice~

    ReplyDelete
  45. I used to have a real birdnest that I put in the tree each year and I'd put a fake bird made of feathers in it. I did that for a couple of decades or so, but it started falling apart too much even though it was partially constructed of mud. Anybody else put mud in their tree? LOL

Tina I think you're right about the QOTD. :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yea, IBB--first!!

Carol, a grave cover??? You had me laughing so hard! Thanks for sharing your beautiful tree with us!

For the first time, we put up a small tree instead of our big one. I just get so tired of keeping the poodles away from it (they think it's their personal toy tree). Our fireplace has a big shelf on it (designed to hold a tv) so I put a tree on it! I'll have to take a picture and put it on ms.

LynnD, you are a hoot today! LOL!

I'm so sorry for all of you freezing people today!! Stay warm! **whispering quietly** It's 72 here today.

    Feel better, Bon.

    Happy Monday to everyone!!

  47. FINALLY!! I thought I had been barred permanently from the nest!
Been trying all day to get in. Weird message.

congrats on 1st ibb- hi everyone and bbl after I read the comments. :)

  48. Another tradition for us, is this ornament that is a little ceramic pig which is hanging by the back of his shirt. He looks very dejected and we call him "Poor Piggy". (Sorry, Mo) It's our tradition to hang him on the back side of the tree. Isn't that sad? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  49. Good Afternoon Everyone!

I had a heck of a time logging in..I kept getting thrown out. I was beginning to get a complex!! Ummm..kinda par for the course with me though... ;)

Congrats IBB on FIRST!! I love that I'll get to see your happy dance and happy Christmas tree for the rest of the day!

I'm off to watch the video and read the comments...

  53. LMAO, Tina, I almost ruined your "moment". btw,69 very appropriate for my p.s. lol!!!!

  54. CPGEM: Loved the video!! Your Christmas tree is so pretty. LOL at your warning to BIRDEE! This may worry you, but you sounded like me, going back and forth with yourself trying to decide whether the tree skirt was called a grave cover(LOL)or a blanket! ;)

Mr. Z had our first tree up right after Halloween..yep..that long ago. He actually put one up four trees because we have so many ornaments. I love going into each room and seeing the sparkling lights...it just makes everything warm, does that make sense?

We also have a Nativity scene my mom made in her ceramics class! It's big enough to take up the entire coffee table. Mom set it up every year on a gold tablecloth, with the warning 'DO NOT TOUCH'!
I'm still afraid it'll get broken, so we never bring it out.

Thanks for sharing your tree with us today, and thanks for the wonderful blog!

    ReplyDelete
  55. JODI: I did hear that shiver in your voice this morning..wasn't sure what was going on! Hope you've warmed up a bit since! ;)

MEK: I love looking at the old ornaments too..and that's why we have so many trees. Mr. Z can't bear to leave any in the box!

BON'O: We try to get a new ornament every year too..a Frank Sinatra one!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. LYNND: 50 degrees here with a little rain..the room is ready if you'd like to visit. You might have to shave your legs though, as we are still wearing shorts. ;)

    SCIRISH: Hope you feel better!

DEEDEE: Congrats to you and Dolly!! I thought there might be an even dozen..wouldn't that have been fun!!?? ;)

J/LIN: LMAO!! No, wouldn't want to break one off!

TINA: You have a magic tree?? Cool... ;)

  59. Hi to all owls landing this afternoon!

    SacBarb~~Can you return your tree?

Shirley~~How 'bought a few fragrant pine boughs (tree lots sometimes give them away!) strung with popcorn and cranberries, instead of a tree?

LynnD~~Any more snow up your way? Kinda sunny/breezy 26* here with the next round due Wednesday night/Thursday. Single digits tonight! Daughter just called to mention it'll be 80* at HER house Thursday. Grrrrrrr.

Grave covers, titcicles....gotta love this place!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Goldie~~You're such a tease...where'd you go?

Anybody have a tree with bubble lights? That's what I miss most from childhood trees. They got just warm enough to bring out the aroma of pine without setting the house on fire!

    ReplyDelete
  61. BON'O: Got it! :)

I've got to go make 400+ chocolate chip cookies for Mr. Z's work. If I check in too much tonight..remind me of this fact! Thanks..and everyone have a good evening!

VIG: I hope you are home safe by now!

TINKA: Thinking of you and sending hugs. Love you.

  64. BON'O: No bubble lights..but we had a silver tree and color wheel!! The asthma medication I took as a kid was really strong, and my folks would give it to me before bedtime because it could make me hallucinate. I can't tell you how many times they found me under that silver tree at Christmastime...staring up at the changing colors when I was supposed to be in bed. It was groovy....maaaaan..lol...

  65. I just want to say.. I hope I did not bore anyone with the video.. Daily blogs can be hard sometimes, so this was what I came up with..

I know some of it was dark, as I am a beginner with the Flip...

I appreciate all taking the time to watch it, and if you want be to do more with the Flip I can try.. Only if you all want it tho...

I do want to apologize to Zona, as she sent me blog last week, and with all the confusion I was in I never saw it.. I feel really, really bad.. I did apologize to her directly, but I felt I needed to do here as well...

  66. Congrats IBB on first!

That is so funny about the whole "tree skirt" thing. My son's girlfriend was helping me put up the tree. We got the whole thing up and I told her I already brought up the thing that goes around the bottom. We could not think of the name of it! We both thought it was tree "apron"..lol. I am going to have to tell her it is called a tree SKIRT! hehe.

I love the Christmas tree, it does make you feel like Christmas.

Tink: I got your Christmas card today! Thank you so much!! It is really sweet. I hope your back is feeling better.

  67. Just Lin: That is funny about "poor piggy". We have a Santa that is on a long wire. I have to put him at the top in a certain spot. I don't know how many years I have been putting him there, but I think it has been forever!

  69. Zona, I have every Raiders ornament up to 2001. Plus A's and Kings ornaments. They used to all go on a separate tree. I haven't used them since 2002.

Bon, My tree is about 5 years old so I don't think I can return it even though I still have the receipt (it has been in the box all this time).

I'm headed out to work. Try to behave while I'm gone....oh, nevermind.

    ReplyDelete
  70. CPGEM: I understand completely, an apology was not necessary! SWAK!! :)

DIANNE: Can I interest you in some orange chip cookies??? Or orange chocolate chip cookies? :D

    SACBARB: LOL @ 'nevermind'..

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tina - you can NEVER own enough scrap crap!!

SacBarb - your tree lights reminded me ----my dad used to string the lights all across the room and mom would plug them in to make sure they all worked before he spent all that time putting them up....... it was quite the sight!! (the untangling!!)

    ReplyDelete
  76. 105 - just because - now - I must go fix dinner..

    ReplyDelete
  77. AND - all that talk about McDonald's - I went there for lunch today - BUT - I used the fancy two lane drive-thru - I can see problems with that.. oh well..

  78. MEK Congrats on 100! I have quite a bit of scrap crap that I have not used in several years now. :(

Tina Sorry you have to work but hope the 69 made you feel better.

  79. Zona~ OMG! I thought I was overwhelmed! I'm making 4 doz. Peanut butter cookies & 4 doz. Christmas sugar cookies.
After cooking supper and doing dishes I am pooped! The cookie dough in the frig. is screaming at me!
I think I am hallucinating lol!!
Once I start baking them I won't be able to take a break. I get distracted easily & I don't want to burn them!

Carol, please, more videos! What a great idea!

MEK~ I think you weatherman is hallucinating! If it snows that far south I will kiss your hiney lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Dear Carol, can you use your flip video to record Mary/mi kissing MEK's hiney??

    LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Mary, 8 doz. cookies??? Jeez, I guess you are hallucinating!! Well, at least the oven will keep you warm, right?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sandie, yes, the oven will help keep the house warm. Now if Santa's little elves would slide by and help, that would be great!

Oh man, TCM, just had a beautiful run down on all the tv/screen people that have passed away this last year. I had forgotten some of them had passed, like Van Johnson. I loved him!

My puter wants to do a complete scan, so it will be a good time to bake...BBL

  83. Whabbear you have MS mail. Important, private, top secret party stuff! Please respond! Shhh! Don't tell anyone!

    ReplyDelete
  84. CAROL: I loved hearing your voice and now I totally feel like I know you. Thanks for your video and sharing your tree. Boy, your mom does a great job. I love the bows too. I would love more video blogs too.

ZONA: I didn't see you asking me if I had any Bronco ornaments on my tree like you did SACBARB about that "other" team! Ok...now I just read the comments and MS ZONA you are pushing it. Yes, I would love some orange chocolate chip cookies. When can I expect them? Will they be with all the other kitchen presents you have publicly been promising?

BONO: We have a plug in night light with a bubble candle on it..that's as close as I can come to it.

I finally got my cards done and now I am going to wrap. Tomorrow I am going to venture out to the PO if it is still not -15. It is really cold here and more snow coming on Wed. I am reminding myself that I like fall and winter so Ho Ho Ho! MEK: I want to see pictures of that snow and also of MARY/MI kissing your butt! Maybe you guys could send out a joint New Years card with the picture on it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. DEEDEE: Congratulations on your new arrivals! You are going to have to do a lot of Christmas shopping this year for mommy and babies. Does the dad know yet?

BONO: Thank you so much for the beautifulll ORANGE pots, pans and knives you sent me on MS. They re more beautiful that I can ever say...you are so sweet. You and ZONA are just getting me all fixed up for my kitchen. Now if JUSTLIN would send me some homemade food for the freezer I'd be all ready.

SACBARB: Can you take a picture of that tree and ornaments?

ZONA; Do you have your Wizard of OZ ornaments up?

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm Home! I got a beautiful new haircut and I am now a brunette! Oooo La La.

I have to say that my titcicles must be standing at attention! I ran into Safeway to grab some dinner items and the two bell ringers for the Salvation Army were there. Two guys kind of cute. Anyway on the way Out I threw all the money in my pocket into the bucket. One of the bell ringers, stopped me to see if Mickey was warm! LOL Mickey Is right across my Boobs! I almost said he was doing a crappy job keeping these babies warm!

I also thought of a new invention Mammary Mittens! Hah Does anyone out there Knit? I was thinking like a tube top only out of the finest warmest yarns! Wadda Ya Think?

Glad to see Goldie Check in I was worried about her! I have been having problems with MS again and have just given up for now!

Bon It is a lovely 20 degrees right now and dropping fast. Just a dusting of snow but we are supposed to have more on Wednesday or Thursday possibly. They are say we could stay this cold until Christmas. There goes my heating bill!

    ReplyDelete
  87. LynnD Great idea for mammary mittens! I used to dance on toe shoes and they have pads you slip over your toes before you put the shoes on. Some are rabbit fur :( and some are lamb's wool. Something along those lines would be perfect. Plus, it would add about 1/2 cup size to those of us who lost a little something from breast feeding.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Sorry had to take a phone call! Ooooo Rabbit fur or lambs wool, yes that would be great or cashmere! JustLin I think we may have a winner!

Just got a call and we made $809.00 dollars at the last minute rummage sale! Wohooo! One man stopped in with his wife and had no idea why were having the sale. He over heard someone talking and found out we were raising money for the kids christmas at the food bank and threw $200.00 dollars in the donation jar! I love people!

Ok must go eat and veg or eat a veg something like that!

  89. MEK~~"Flip Clips" and "Scrap Crap"...another poet!

Dianne/Denver~~I have the bubble nightlights, too. (p.s. Remember, NO knives in hand until post-season! You can't be trusted.)

Zona & Mary/MI~~What's the cookie count about now? Could Dianne, Goldie, Jodi, Lynn & I just come huddle in front of your warm ovens? I can't complain (yet). Still at 21*, headed for 15*tonight.

Lynn~~We made it all the way up to 24* today, so just enough sun-melt to make things treacherous. Expecting the biggest 'dump' of snow since '69 by Thursday.

  90. Evening News time here...Is 2008 a banner year for greed and corruption or what?? I usually don't feel sorry for the rich, but am SO p.o'd about the latest $50billion ponzi scheme. How ironic that the perp's name is Bernie Madoff (pronounced Made-off).....as in 'they got BURNed when he MADE OFF with all their billions'. I know, I'm a sick puppy! Punny, yes; funny, no.

Off to carbo-load before a walk in the snow. Later!

  91. LynnD I love the story of your very generous donor. That definitely warms the heart.
