This turbulent economy has hit almost every entity, including Broadway. I have been reading lately, on how many Broadway shows have closed due of course to the economy.
Saturday Night Live did a skit on the poor sales of Broadway Shows, this past Saturday, and it was hilarious. Neil Patrick Harris was so funny, as well as the SNL cast, and Taylor Swift as Annie was a hoot.
Not sure if anyone saw it, so I wanted to share, as at lease we can start our day with a smile.
Enjoy!
Yay!!!! My frozen fingers still work! Off to read..
ReplyDeleteMorning Scrishy! LOL You got first!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning!
ReplyDeleteCpgem: I loved the video! Thanks for posting it today. Laughter is a great way to start the day!
SCIRISH: Congrats on FIRST!!

ReplyDeleteI think I'm overtired...I seem to be on exclamation point overload! ;)
ReplyDelete*Chuckle* Cute video!! Does laughing create therms????
ReplyDeleteMorning Lyndeeeeee and Zona!!!
SCIRISH: Laughing has been known to warm the cockles of the heart..so you should at least have warm cockles! ;)
ReplyDeleteMorning Zona!
ReplyDeleteI would love to stay and warm my cockles but I am on a mission today.
How to gather staples and then the challenge of shipping them to Alaska.
Watch out nothing like a mission!
Zona.....LOL I'm gonna have warm WHAT??? Naw...I'm not gonna go there...it's too early for porn...
ReplyDeleteLynndeeee...I must not be with it this morning...it took me a while to figure out why you were sending staples to Alaska....
ReplyDeleteGood Freakn' Freezn' Morning
ReplyDeleteScirish, LynnD, Zonababyyyyy!!!!!
How the hell are ya'll this morning?!♥
Did ya'll see where it said it's colder in Alabama than Alaska right now???? WTHF??!!!!!
Carol, Funny skit! Thanks for the laugh's.
ReplyDeleteZona, since I seem to be missing the marches during the day, I figured 2am seemed like a good time to try. Been awhile since I've been up that late/early.
ReplyDeleteLook's like no laundry will be getting done today either, pipe's are still frozen.
ReplyDeletebirdee....maybe you should blow dry them so they don't burst????
ReplyDeleteGood morning, and Congrats scirish on first.
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing to Lynn, Zona and Birdee.
Sorry about your pipes, Bird..got a rub-board?
I love your exclamation point overload, Zona. Too cute
My cockles are finally warm down here, just hope everyone up north stays warm today.
I enjoyed reading the march to ten this morning. Tina, Birdee and Jax, you all are so funny.
#17, Shirley..
(See Carol, I didn't cheat this morning and turn into a 'jooch'.
Good Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeleteScrishy, your #1 count is going to be hard to beat!! Congrats
Great blog Carol and i loved the video. I wanted to watch last week and I forgot- so thanks!
Early morning porn? Warm cocks? Oh wait, it was cockles....
It is a balmy 12 ABOVE 0 today!!!! I might live dangerously and not wear pantyhose under my jeans today and wear regular socks instead of my smart wool!!!
Wahoo..........
Morning Goldie~
ReplyDeleteYeah, gotta keep those cockels warm.
Carol the video was funny. I really like Neil Patrick Harris.
Thanks for sharing.
Ronnie...A rub-board??? Is that like a massage table??? And what does it have to do with pipes????
ReplyDelete20
ReplyDeleteI just got home from Wal Mart, and what a pleasure to shop in a clean place with not many customers so early.
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday morn!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - it's TOO early to be up- but I have somewhere to be!!
Second of all - every channel has "paid programing" on it.. WTH..
Third -
Scirish - congrats on FIRST!!
waving howdy to Scirish, Lynn D, Zona, Birdee, Ronnie, Goldie and all who land..
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
scirish...lol
ReplyDeleteThat's one of those things you stick in a bucket and rub your clothes on to wash. I bet it beats a rock on the side of a river....
Morning MEK~ Did you really wear flip-flops and shorts. My favorite outfit.
Goldie...Congrats on your 12 above....It's minus 9 here and I have so many clothes on that I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy!
ReplyDeletecpgem - Thank you for sharing that clip - I saw it last week and thought it was hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you all survive this cold weather. Just stay warm today and stay inside.
ReplyDeleteRonnie - YES, I really DID wear shorts and flip-flops yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteThe resturant we went to had the AIR CONDITIONER on - so it was a bit cold in there....... AC in January - that's just NOT right!!
It's a little chilly right now -but Mr. Mek just left to play golf in shorts and no jacket......
isn't it great to shop when noone is there??!!
It was great, MEK...they even were just finishing buffing the floors. Place looked better than I've seen it in a long time.
ReplyDelete30
ReplyDeleteBe back in a little while...
Waving to everyone who lands later.
Oh, Birdee-Brrrr
ReplyDeleteI love your little snowbird avatar. Even better than your
New Years drunken chicken.
Too cute.
I guess I put everyone back to bed. See you later.
ReplyDeleteBIRDEEEEE!!! I love seeing you up, no matter what the hour!!
ReplyDeleteLYNND: I had to think a minute about 'staples' too...wondering if there were lots of papers flying around loose in Alaska!! ;)
RONNNIE!!: Great to see the one and only skeet-erfly!! I missed you, pretty lady!!! :) :)
GOLDIE: Smart wool?? Dare I ask??
G'morning MEK!! :D
Scrishy, it is going to get all the way to 21 today. I opened the door this morning to let Pepper out to pee and fetch the paper, and it was like a heat wave compared to the -45 windchill yesterday! It is snowing a bit now though. Its one thing or another.
ReplyDeleteMEK- SHORTS? Why don't you just drive a stake thru my heart?? LOL
Zona- it wicks up moisture so your feet don't get cold. So if they get sweaty you dont freeze to death. Cost more than regular, but worth every penny- not itchy and pretty light weight too. Great for boots.
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE: We don't get much call for wool socks down yonder in these here parts..so I really didn't know what it was! Thank you!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm off to bed! I hope everyone's cockles stay nice and warm today!
ReplyDeleteG'night... :)
LYNND: I hope your mission is successful!
ReplyDeleteGoldie....Minus 45???? Holy Cow!!!! I would need a hell of a lot more than Smart Socks to survive that!!!
ReplyDelete40!
ReplyDeleteGoldie - (and all in the freezing weather) - please forgive me.. yes, we are having temps in the 70's.
ReplyDeleteI will wear shoes and socks today, just for you all!!!
:-)
okay - I really must go - I've got myself running late now..
Ok....Off to take my shower now...If I can figure out how to do it without taking off my clothes!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owlettes!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell I survived another night out in the cold ... only 2 more to go... if I don't get sick it will be amazing!!!!
Scirish... Congrats on 1st!!!AGAIN!!!
LynnD...2nd...Good luck on your mission... I know you will be successfull...
MORNING... BIRDEE....... Ronnie!!!!!!!!!!
I have missed you girls...
Good marching in the weeeee early hours!!!!
I just got my first wood stove burn of the year... and right on my thumb knuckle... putting wood in... it got jammed and sent my thumb right into the doorway top.... ouch!!!!
Morning Zona... MEK...
It is jsut somethign wrong hearing about shorts and flip flops right now...
hey MEK weren't you just scraping ice last week...?????
And ..MEK... have you been getting my E-mails... none from you since last thursday???? I mean like the 8th???
Goldie... I have some of those socks... they are a life saver this week....
Hope everyone has a warm day....
Waving a wing at all who land after me...
HI, IBB!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I LOL"d at the video... especially the character who was giving massages behind a Thai restaurant... with her mouth!
Keep warm, Easterners... Lil Ol' Me just e-mailed that Jesup, Iowa set a record low of -34!
Good morning/afternoon, Hooters!
ReplyDeletescirish Wow! You made it in first, frozen fingers and all!
LynnD Shouldn't Alaska's governor being doing something about those poor villages? Shouldn't it be like a state of emergency or something?
Carol I totally enjoyed that skit! Very clever and so funny! Thanks for the laughs this morning.
Hi Owls! I'm taking a break from the nursing home today. Mr. Hart needed the van all day and his car doesn't have heat. Thought I needed some daughter time, housework time and ME time! Totally enjoying it and appreciating it.
ReplyDeleteGoldie: I just read your comment from the other day about the site called CaringBridge. I DO, in fact, know about this site because I get updates about a friend of mine, whose son is battling cancer. I actually registered and made a profile for Dad but then never did any more with it. I just haven't had the strength to deal with it.
Loved this skit on SNL. I saw it when it was on. Hubby didn't "get it" but I thought it was so cute and funny!
Getting ready to lie on the couch and watch Ellen on QVC. She's selling pet products at 3pm.
Thank you ALL for your continued support and prayers. I've been trying to catch up on blogs and comments today and your words have all been so kind.
Remember to PUSH! (Pray until something happens.
Birdee When you're done washing clothes on the rub board (wash board), you can play it in a jug band! LOL
ReplyDeleteJustLin, wow, they finally found some use for my "jugs", though it sounds like it could be a little painful lol!
ReplyDeleteScirish, did you jump in the shower, with or with out your cloths!
Goldie, amen to that! "driving steak through our hearts"!
Mr. Mary just stepped in to warm up from shoveling snow, and I am sure his cockles were frozen bwah ha ha!!
My sister in Texas called a few minutes ago. First thing she said was "are you alright", then she giggled. She had dialed the wrong number first. She asked for "Mary". they said "Oh we are sorry Mary passed away an hour ago". Once my sister composed herself, she realized she had the wrong number! Of all the names. What are the odds that happening lol!
ReplyDeleteI will let you know if I pass lol!
correction,I told my sister "I will let you know if I pass!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first, Scirish!
ReplyDeleteCarol, thanks for the laugh today! I love Neil Patrick Harris! He's such a cutie.

ReplyDeleteJ/L, Ronnie, I have been spared from having to use a wash board!!
ReplyDeleteIt's still below freezing here and the thought of using a blow dryer, like Lois did, was not thrilling me at all. ;o) I think she has more stamina than I do. Soooo, I turned my dryer on for about an hour to warm up the room. Can't say for sure that's what helped, but, I'll go with it. ha!
Now, who is going to play the Kazoo in the band? We'll need someone to blow on the jug's too.
Who is up for that??? LOL
Damn, now I have to work on the laundry! ;o(

If only Birdee would quit flipping that snow off her back on me, and Mo would stop poking me with that giant finger. Which finger is that anyway, Mo? ;)
~
LMAO at the video Caw-ruhl! That was great!

Too bad Ronnie had to sit in front to of me while we were watching it. Those dang big bird brows of hers obstructed my view. Next time, I'm getting here early so I can be in the front row! :)

Kgrl2 Maybe you could have warmed up "Birdee's" pipes, as well. :)
TinaHO Actually turned down a chance to hear intimate details about Sandie's anniversary "celebration". That must be a first!
Jax I think we were using Ronnie's eyebrows as antennas for better reception.

CAROL...I actually saw that part of SNL last week. I thought it was hilarious!! Thanks for the blog.
Just wanted to tell y'all that my mom just called me and told me that my sister finally got yelled at by Dad today. He has only been yelling at my mom and at me. I guess today was her turn. He told her that she hasn't done anything to help him and she's good for nothin'. I just hate it that he's still saying things like this. I hate it that we all have to endure this. But I will say, taking today off has given me the rest I need to go back to it again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteScirish,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on First! My fingers have been frozen all day as well..
It is so cold.. Brrr....
Donna:

Carol Did you find anything at Lane Bryant that you just couldn't live without? I enjoyed Juno. I hope you do, too. Did you know that the woman who wrote it, Diablo Cody, was an exotic dancer? That's right, kind of porn-ish. LOL

ReplyDeleteGoldie~ Just hit him....it always works for me! :)~
ReplyDeleteTina LOL LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteHi J/L~ kinda thought you'd like that~
ReplyDeleteI don't know if anyone else is having this problem.....but i'm cold!~
We aren't getting enough rain. I had to water the front lawn today. I also washed my car because a large raccoon left muddy footprints all over it.
ReplyDeleteEvening Owls,
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how hard it is to get goods from our state to outer areas of Alaska with out it costing a fortune. Tho it costs less than what the people there would pay even with shipping.
JustLin: You would think the Governor would be jumping on this but not so much.
Tina: I am not trying to be rude or political but I am not helping Sarah Palin. She does not seem to think that people freezing and running out of food supplies is an emergency. Actually there has been little response from the Governor of Alaska it is the greater community in Alaska and bloggers that are organizing aid.
The story is a long one and is a confluence of many things the Alaskan government was warned about last July. That the perfect storm was coming for these native villages and they ignored the warning. Well it is here.
My concern is the children and elderly in those villages going without heat and food. Enough said for me.
Alaska needs to come up with a comprehensive plan for these people but the crisis is now. Get the basic needs met now and let the finger pointing be saved for later before someone dies.
Off Soapbox.
Came home feeling sniffly and snuffly I think I may have gotten to close to Carol and Sacbarb. I might be getting the snotting crud!
Jax: You sure can borrow them, they are all warm and fuzzy! :)
ReplyDeleteDonna: You needed the break so bad I am sure and it does sounds like it was your sister's turn. I hope that you feel rested and up to handle tomorrow. I can hear the anguish in your writing and wish the best for you and your dad. I am so sorry that it is so tough right now. You are one strong lady to be handling it as well as you do!
Just passing by, thank goodness not passing away lol!
ReplyDeleteCarol, we are getting free HBO this week end. I watched the "Bucket List", & "Things I lost in the fire", or something like that lol! I am now watching " Moscow on the Hudson".
It snowed all day today and it will be snowing all week.I am beyond having"Cabin Fever"!
Have a good night everyone...back to my movie marathon lol!
Goldie - please forgive me - I wore shoes and socks for you today - put on blue jeans...
