Help for Broadway?

This turbulent economy has hit almost every entity, including Broadway. I have been reading lately, on how many Broadway shows have closed due of course to the economy.

Saturday Night Live did a skit on the poor sales of Broadway Shows, this past Saturday, and it was hilarious. Neil Patrick Harris was so funny, as well as the SNL cast, and Taylor Swift as Annie was a hoot.

Not sure if anyone saw it, so I wanted to share, as at lease we can start our day with a smile.

Enjoy!

  12. Zona, since I seem to be missing the marches during the day, I figured 2am seemed like a good time to try. Been awhile since I've been up that late/early.

  13. Look's like no laundry will be getting done today either, pipe's are still frozen.

That's one of those things you stick in a bucket and rub your clothes on to wash. I bet it beats a rock on the side of a river....

Morning MEK~ Did you really wear flip-flops and shorts. My favorite outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Goldie...Congrats on your 12 above....It's minus 9 here and I have so many clothes on that I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ronnie - YES, I really DID wear shorts and flip-flops yesterday!!

The resturant we went to had the AIR CONDITIONER on - so it was a bit cold in there....... AC in January - that's just NOT right!!

It's a little chilly right now -but Mr. Mek just left to play golf in shorts and no jacket......

isn't it great to shop when noone is there??!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. It was great, MEK...they even were just finishing buffing the floors. Place looked better than I've seen it in a long time.

RONNNIE!!: Great to see the one and only skeet-erfly!! I missed you, pretty lady!!! :) :)

GOLDIE: Smart wool?? Dare I ask??

    G'morning MEK!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  31. Scrishy, it is going to get all the way to 21 today. I opened the door this morning to let Pepper out to pee and fetch the paper, and it was like a heat wave compared to the -45 windchill yesterday! It is snowing a bit now though. Its one thing or another.

MEK- SHORTS? Why don't you just drive a stake thru my heart?? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  32. Zona- it wicks up moisture so your feet don't get cold. So if they get sweaty you dont freeze to death. Cost more than regular, but worth every penny- not itchy and pretty light weight too. Great for boots.

    ReplyDelete
  33. GOLDIE: We don't get much call for wool socks down yonder in these here parts..so I really didn't know what it was! Thank you!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm off to bed! I hope everyone's cockles stay nice and warm today!

    G'night... :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. LYNND: I hope your mission is successful!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Goldie....Minus 45???? Holy Cow!!!! I would need a hell of a lot more than Smart Socks to survive that!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Goldie - (and all in the freezing weather) - please forgive me.. yes, we are having temps in the 70's.

I will wear shoes and socks today, just for you all!!!

scirish Wow! You made it in first, frozen fingers and all!

LynnD Shouldn't Alaska's governor being doing something about those poor villages? Shouldn't it be like a state of emergency or something?

Carol I totally enjoyed that skit! Very clever and so funny! Thanks for the laughs this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Owls! I'm taking a break from the nursing home today. Mr. Hart needed the van all day and his car doesn't have heat. Thought I needed some daughter time, housework time and ME time! Totally enjoying it and appreciating it.

Goldie: I just read your comment from the other day about the site called CaringBridge. I DO, in fact, know about this site because I get updates about a friend of mine, whose son is battling cancer. I actually registered and made a profile for Dad but then never did any more with it. I just haven't had the strength to deal with it.

Loved this skit on SNL. I saw it when it was on. Hubby didn't "get it" but I thought it was so cute and funny!

Getting ready to lie on the couch and watch Ellen on QVC. She's selling pet products at 3pm.

Thank you ALL for your continued support and prayers. I've been trying to catch up on blogs and comments today and your words have all been so kind.

Remember to PUSH! (Pray until something happens.

  45. My sister in Texas called a few minutes ago. First thing she said was "are you alright", then she giggled. She had dialed the wrong number first. She asked for "Mary". they said "Oh we are sorry Mary passed away an hour ago". Once my sister composed herself, she realized she had the wrong number! Of all the names. What are the odds that happening lol!

  51. J/L, Ronnie, I have been spared from having to use a wash board!!

It's still below freezing here and the thought of using a blow dryer, like Lois did, was not thrilling me at all. ;o) I think she has more stamina than I do. Soooo, I turned my dryer on for about an hour to warm up the room. Can't say for sure that's what helped, but, I'll go with it. ha!

Now, who is going to play the Kazoo in the band? We'll need someone to blow on the jug's too.
Who is up for that??? LOL

  65. Just wanted to tell y'all that my mom just called me and told me that my sister finally got yelled at by Dad today. He has only been yelling at my mom and at me. I guess today was her turn. He told her that she hasn't done anything to help him and she's good for nothin'. I just hate it that he's still saying things like this. I hate it that we all have to endure this. But I will say, taking today off has given me the rest I need to go back to it again tomorrow.

  92. Evening Owls,

It is amazing how hard it is to get goods from our state to outer areas of Alaska with out it costing a fortune. Tho it costs less than what the people there would pay even with shipping.

JustLin: You would think the Governor would be jumping on this but not so much.

Tina: I am not trying to be rude or political but I am not helping Sarah Palin. She does not seem to think that people freezing and running out of food supplies is an emergency. Actually there has been little response from the Governor of Alaska it is the greater community in Alaska and bloggers that are organizing aid.

The story is a long one and is a confluence of many things the Alaskan government was warned about last July. That the perfect storm was coming for these native villages and they ignored the warning. Well it is here.

My concern is the children and elderly in those villages going without heat and food. Enough said for me.

Alaska needs to come up with a comprehensive plan for these people but the crisis is now. Get the basic needs met now and let the finger pointing be saved for later before someone dies.

    Off Soapbox.

Came home feeling sniffly and snuffly I think I may have gotten to close to Carol and Sacbarb. I might be getting the snotting crud!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Jax: You sure can borrow them, they are all warm and fuzzy! :)

Donna: You needed the break so bad I am sure and it does sounds like it was your sister's turn. I hope that you feel rested and up to handle tomorrow. I can hear the anguish in your writing and wish the best for you and your dad. I am so sorry that it is so tough right now. You are one strong lady to be handling it as well as you do!
