Spa Retreat

by Iteach

Yesterday I was walking around the grounds of the Owl's Nest Estate and I was following a beautiful red cardinal flitter from tree to tree. It led down a new path that I had not visited. At the end of the path was a spa, OUR spa.

I boldly went inside and talked to the receptionist. She said that she has been waiting for us. I told her that we have only been here for a year and we are still discovering all the unique features of our nest. She was very understanding and kind.

Owls, you are just going to love this place. I have always dreamed of going to a spa for a day and I'm so excited that we have one here. They have all the services that I dreamed of spa having and more!

Get ready to pamper your body!

A beautiful white fluffy robe and soothing slippers will be provided for your comfort. Below is just a taste of what this spa has to offer-

Massages

-Four Hands Massage
-Reflexology
-Swedish massage

  4. Oy, the local weather person just said we could get up to 12 inches of snow by tomorrow night. I guess I will stop at the gross-ry store on my way home tonight and hunker down for the weekend. It figures, my weekend off and it will be a blizzard. Oh well.

  5. off to work. see y'all later.
Have a GREAT DAY and may all the ailing owls feel better, stay dry and warm.

  6. Congrats on first, Moweenie!! Oh no, more snow? Well, at least you'll get lots of needed rest if you're stuck at home all weekend, right? Have a good weekend off!!

Hi Scirish! I second Mo on the crossing of my fingers that your back is better!

iteach, I'm so glad you found the spa! I just got a pedicure but I would love to have a massage. What is a four-hand massage? Is that when two people massage you? Jeez, it's bad enough that one poor person has to see my nekkid butt!

    Happy Friday!

  7. Thanks Mo and Sandie for the well back wishes. It's too early to tell if the new meds are working as they have to increase the dosage slowly. In the meantime, I seem to have done something to my tailbone area...My luck seems to be a bit off kilter lately...*sigh*

Iteach that all sounds wonderful! Give me the works! Never had a facial I didn't do myself or for that matter a full body massage. Unless you count Mr. Lynn D and I don't because he wants a reward when he is done. LOL

    Good Morning Scrishy and Sandie!

I see Bono is back! I was starting to wonder if she had washed away in this crazy weather.

Fell asleep last night before Greys came on so I will have to wait for someone to put it on Youtube! LOL

  19. Good Morning Maureen - Congrats on first. It looks like that made your day. Good for you. I was awake at 5:30 and I almost turned on the computer. I would have had to choose between being first and my cozy down comforter in a house that has not warmed up yet. Guess which one won!

  22. I must stop marching and get back to my "Good Mornings" before I hurt anyone's feelings.

Good Morning Zona-My-Baby, Scirish, Sandie, Lynn, Mek, Goldie, and Ibebold. I hope you are all having a good day. I see Mek is off to not that great a start. It's bound to be up from there Mek. I have started many a day with a kitty or puppy having a sick stomach. That isn't the nicest part of having pets, that's for sure.

  23. I am doing everything backwards. I should have started with "Great Blog" Iteach. I did read it first, I just forgot to say "What a wonderful place you found". I need it after all the stretching with my undecorating. That isn't really a word but the meaning is clear. Yes Dianne, I did finish yesterday, just in time for the end of the Ukrainian Christmas. We used to celebrate that many years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think I am alone in the nest. That is kind of scary.

    ReplyDelete
  25. you are never alone in the nest Tinka!!!!!

  26. Maureen - Have a great day at work.

Sandie - Thanks for all the sweet notes you keep sending me. I really appreciate them and you.

Zona - If you aren't too busy, call me this afternoon. OK?

Lynn - I missed Grey's too. Does it really go on U-tube?

Ibebold - We aren't getting freezing rain but we are getting tropical torrential rain and houses and roads are flooding. What is with the weather? I must call Al Gore.

Waving at Goldie and Scirish. I am off for breakfast. See you all later. Have a great day.

    ReplyDelete
  27. HI Ibebold. Thanks for keeping me company. Now I am no longer afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Quick hello to the owls, I'm off to work!

Hope everyone has a nice day today!

    ReplyDelete
  29. iteach: Does Owl Manor Spa offer massages with "happy endings"??

    It does? Fabulous!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Good Morning and thank you ITEACH for introducing us to the MANOR SPA.

I looked around and guess what; it also has a meditation room. Beautiful candles, angelic music and lovely walls painted in murals.

As I was getting my message I could feel all of the toxins leaving my body.

    ReplyDelete
  31. SCIRISH I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer for you. I even dotted my Is and crossed my Ts :).

MO Since we never see snow here in the Bay Area, would you make an owl snowman for me?

    Hi SANDIE & ZONA & LYNN & GOLDIE & MEK & TINK

IBB Have a happy lunch with your niece.

EBJ I hope your day at work is the best.

BEAR I saw the room to which you are referring. The clients exiting this room looked quite euphoric.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tinka and LynnD, you can watch full episodes of Grey's on abc.com.

Tinka, you're so welcome! I really appreciate your friendship, too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congrats on first MO and I am so glad you get a three day weekend. You sure do deserve it. Maybe with you being home this weekend it might inspire SHIRLEY to make us one of her yummy breakfasts with lots of bacon!

I wanted to add one more comment to yesterday's blog. I went home so many time to see if I left my curling iron on that I finally bought one that shuts itself after a certain amount of time. I loved all the stories yesterday and they make me feel so much better to know that others are doing some of the same things that I do. You really do wonder about yourself sometimes!

ITEACH: I am so ready for the Spa. I wonder why SHIRLEY didn't mention it to us? She must have missed it...too bad as it would be a great place for her to get quick water for her supplies! I will take your whole list of pampers. I think I will wait a day or two because right now I would probably sleep right through them and I want to enjoy every minute. I can't wait to have my wings rubbed!

SCIRISH: I sure hope your new meds work for you.

I went to Color Purple last night and it was pretty good. Boy, could that group sing and I had never seen the movie so I didn't really know the plot. I had a nice dinner and evening with my show friends but didn't get home until 11:45. Now that is late for me since I have to get up in the night (6AM) to go over to my daughters.

I usually leave at 6:30 or 6:45 and today my SIL called me and it was 7:45!~! I freaked that I was still sleeping. I must have turned off my alarm. I never got ready so quick and over here. Thank goodness no traffic today (everyone was probably at work that late). He got to work timely and I am here but it made me feel bad----not very responsible!

Good morning to MO, SCIRISH, ZONA, MEK, SANDIE, LYNND, TINK, IBB, GOLDIE, BEAR, EBJ, AND LANI. It is a busy morning in the nest.

I think we will try for the movie again today and hopefully, the power won't be out at the mall.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Iteach - I decided I would forget what I had planned to do today and join everyone at the Spa. You make it sound so inviting.

Lani - I loved what you noticed at the new Spa Iteach found. We have our own little piece of Heaven there.

Bear - Are you being naughty today or is that just my mind working??????

Dianne - We are too young for these senior moments. I wonder why we are having so many. Practically every night I get out of a warm bed to check on whether I have set the alarm system. It's always set. Of course the one time I don't re-check, I discover in the morning that I had gone to bed leaving the alarm off.

Sandie - Thanks for the news about "Grey's". I will watch it today.

EBJ - Wishing you a good day too.

Off to the Spa to meet Bear.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Whoops...I accidently posted this on yesterday's blog so I am moving ti over here...sorry...

    Dianne/Denver said...
From Area 51: I like Howie but he is still no John Elway!!

NOTE TO FOOTBALL FANS: I guess SACBARB and I will be cheering for the Chargers this weekend since they are in our league. ZONA, I am really hoping the Cardinals win as they are not expected to win...so I say, GO CARDS AND GOOD LUCK! Denver is still wandering around looking for a coach. I think your team is too, MARY/MI but at least you made a record this year....16 games lost 0 won....it means you are in the record books and get first pick at the draft!

ZONA; What could you possibly have to do to add up to that many things? You and MrZ aren't going up in the mountain looking for snow, are you?

Ok, will be back later. I am going to watch The View right now. Bye...

  36. Uh oh TINK...You are meeting BEAR at the spa!!! Just sayin' you might want to be very careful...if you get my drift OR maybe you know exactly what you are doing...hmmmm, have to ponder this......

    ReplyDelete
  37. ITEACH - Great blog. Thanks for finding the spa!! The best Valentine's Day gift my hubby gave me was a certificate to have a facial. It was an hour long and pure heaven!! I think I need to get a mani/pedi today. My feet definitely could use some pampering.....THANK YOU!!!

    MO - Congrats on first!!!

It's my day off and up to my ass in laundry. Waving a wing @ EVERYONE!!!

    I'll BBL!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ok Owls....we all have it good. I am watching the news and they are showing Fairbanks, Alaska at -50. They cancel recess at the schools when it reaches -20!!! It looks like we all should be sweating!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi JODI...Time to teach the kids how to do their laundry. At their age, they might still think it is "fun".

Try and have some fun and REST on your day off. Oh well, you are young.....

    ReplyDelete
  40. DIANNE - Sam does her own, but I do not trust the boys with theirs (OR MINE!!!). We've gotten at least 5 inches of snow this morning, and Tim does the snowblowing, so I feel that's a pretty good trade off!!!

Decided to finally change my avatar.....was getting uncomfortable with that cork up my ass!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Jodi, my hubby once gave me a gift certificate for a spa massage. Before I could even make an appointment, the spa was on the news for being raided for prostitution. All I could think of was if I had been there when they were raided and my naked butt running away from the tv cameras!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. IBB, I once had a really nice spa massage and facial at Berkley Springs. Is that near you?

    ReplyDelete
  43. DIANNE It usually makes me feel off kilter all day when I oversleep. I remember one time, years ago, I woke up in a panic and kept calling my office to tell them I overslept and I would be in soon. I must have called at least three times with no answer on the other end before I realized, it was Saturday!

I meant to say thank you to ITEACH for finding the Manor Spay. So THANK YOU

Hi to HODI...Meet me at the juice bar at the spa after you finish the laundry.

TINK The spa treatment should do wonders for your back. Please give VIG a hug from me when you see her.

Oh SHIRLEY, Come out come out from wherever you are.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good Morning Jodi - I don't think I thanked you for the New Year's message you left on my machine. Thank you, you are so thoughtful. I have played it a couple of times.

VIG - I know you are busy but I just wanted to say Hi to you on the blog. "Hi".

Dianne - Would you like to join Bear and me? I don't think he would mind.

    ReplyDelete
  45. TINKA - You're welcome!! Just taking a break from laundry. Maybe I'll try ringing you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hey BON......MARTHA MARTHA MARTHA :p

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh TINK...it is so thoughtful of you to ask me to join you and BEAR for a massage. I am almost speechless. I don't think BEAR could handle both of us young chicks for a three-som massage. He would be exhausted...but hey, thanks for the invite! You are too kind! :)

JODI: Yup, sounds like a fair change if he does the snow blowing. My daughter won't even let me wash their clothes..oh well!
When I stay home this weekend, I will also be swamped with laundry. I hate to let it get behind.

LANI: That is funny that you were calling in on a Saturday. I agree with you about the feeling when you wake up and look at the clock. My hair is kind of sticking out and I just threw some clothes on to get over here. You can bet I won't be setting any alarm tomorrow!

SHIRLEY: What the heck are you doing? I hope you haven't become lost looking for your house again! :) After I got divorced from my kids dad (many years ago) he stayed in the house and married soon after the divorce. I had been out playing one night and when I came home I drove right up into my old drive-way and then noticed a different car was there!! Good thing because I don't remember if I still had a key. Wouldn't have that been a suprise for all of us?

TINA: How is your dad and are you back in Utah yet? You must be lonely for your kids and hubby! Right?

Guess I had better get ready for the movie! It's fun being on here this week since I am around early. I am getting to talk to owls that are usually in bed when I am on the blog.

Hey, California...SACBARB, LANI, JUST/LIN, DONNA JEAN, EBJ and anyone else.....did you feel the earthquake today? Hope all is well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lani, the Manor Spay?? Yikes, will they neuter Bear and Joey, too?

LOL. I can tell you work for a vet!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Mo Good job being first today. Does that mean you get in the spa first, too?

Lani The Manor Spay? LMAO!!! I don't think I'll go there!

Iteach What a beautiful blog and wonderful idea! After all the partying, water balloon attacks, over-eating and marching, we definitley need a spa!

Now, in real life I can't imagine getting a massage. Having a lover do it is lovely, for sure, but having a stranger touch me that way....I don't know about that.

I just started getting manicures last year and have never had a pedicure. The idea of picking up some kind of infection worries me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Shirley Did ya see that? Did ya? Did ya?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've never been to a spa so I'm loving this! lol

Thanks for the awesome blog iteach!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think Sandie is correct with that last statement....lmao~!

Bear I hear a Michael Jackson song playing softly in the background...of course it is a Jackie Beat remake~

    ReplyDelete
  57. ROFLMAO! You guys are cracking me up!

OK, have to head off to a meeting... usually, I'm kind of sleepy and lethargic in meetings right after lunch. Today, though, I feel all invigorated and rejuvinated. What's going on?

Oh. It's all "coming" back to me.

THANKS, TINK and DIANNE! That was fabulous!

Except. Wait. Just discovered a stain on my work pants... BYE!

  58. Just Lin you have been seen and recorded, but EBJ is still in the lead with the most 69's so far this year.

    ReplyDelete
  59. DIANNE LOL @ driving up to the wrong house. I didn't feel the earthquake, but I have the eerie feeling the Bay Area is due for a quake. Yikes

Did I say Manor Spay? LOL I guess JOEY and BEAR have high tailed it out of there. :)

    MARY I found out!

Yes it is only 45 minutes away... that is where I went on Dec.
3rd... my friend took me to the old bath house (For a birthday gift)n Berkley Springs... They have the 15 minute mineral bath and then a 30 minute massage for 40 bucks...
    can't beat it...

Just Lin... I used to feel the same way about the massage... a total stranger touching me...
but i have had a few now and it is wonderful...

Lani.. thank you .. had a very nice lunch with my niece.... I just wish her mother wasn't such a biotch..
I managed not to see her over the holidays..
    but my luck ran out....

Whabbear and Tinka and Dianne threesome...
What is going on in here today... OH MY!!!!

MARY LOL @ day appropriate statement

IBB, Maybe every time she makes a biotchy statement you could look at her and smile and ask her if she is constipated. :)

TINK, I hope you didn't throw your back out after all the activity.)

BON & SHIRLEY it is so much fun having you back again.

    ReplyDelete
  69. MARY & IBB were you both so inspired by today's post that you both made meatloaf :)

I have always heard about "those" kind of bath houses, but have never been nor do I think I'd want to go lol

  77. Joey, fly on down anytime. I have a feeling you are a much better cook than I am.

My internet has been kicking me off all day! If I disappear you will know why.I know lower Michigan is getting hit by a snow storm. So far our area has been spared the heaviest snow fall.
What a year! Fires, floods, earthquakes, heavy rains and blizzards! Is it spring yet?
Mr Mary just got our Vegas tickets today. It should help break up the winter blahs! 44 more days!
I would rather go to Hawaii, but Tina hasn't committed yet lol!!

  79. Congrats on first Mo!

Oh jeez..iteach..that is wonderful. I had no idea we had a spa here too. One time a few years ago, I got invited to French Lick to experience the place. They have a beautiful old hotel and they had a spa. I was allowed to invite a guest with me so I took my Mom. We had a full body massage, in the same room together..and GAWD, it was like heaven. AND, they treated us to 5 star dinner the night before. Gosh, that really brought back that memory, thanks!

I will take advantage of the facial and the massage. It reminds me too that I have a gift certificate to Z Spa here in Louisville that I need to use. I am going to get a facial there soon.

  80. Shirley: Dang, I missed when I was the QOTD! When did that happen? Love it though..what did I say?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Goldie: What was the message? It must have been good to be the "best message of your life!"... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I think the best message I could have would be, "You have won 5 millllllllllllllllllllllion dollars".

  83. Hey hooters!

Whabbeat, I read happy ending then you have a stain on your pants!? What is going on there?

We had some drama at work today. I work in a clinic, right next to a medical center, and a man who had been stabbed came staggering in to the dermatology dept. of all places.

They missed the ED by 1 building, but I am sure the man and person who brought him in were just happy to get some help.

MR. EBJ had a fabulous dinner ready tonight, he made the "MEK special", tortellini, salad and garlic bread.

Loved the spa day today, great blog Iteach! I'm hoping for a happy ending a little later! haha

  84. Okay, here I go again. I am a "Serial Poster"! That is someone who doesn't go through and read all the comments and scroll back up to comment back, but posts short little posts..about half dozen to 10 in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  85. EBJ: Wow, was the guy okay? That is a lot of drama. Did he come in and say, "I need a dermatologist, my skin ripped open!"..okay..prolly not funny. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well, my DVR decided NOT to record any of my shows yesterday..including the Oprah Best Life series I've been recording, BUT I found on Oprah.com a FREE download of Suze Orman's latest book!! Y'all enjoy!

    Lol@Bebbi! I guess I'm a serial poster too! haha

    ReplyDelete
  90. Maybe we aren't serial posters if we keep breaking each other's serial postings. ;)

How have you been today? Did you take a spa treatment earlier? I still haven't skipped back and read all the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I feel FAT! I ate three 100 calorie ice cream bars from Klondike. Bet ya can't guess how many calories I had..lol. OOPS.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I knew when I bought them I was going to binge...but I bought them anyway. Tried to get my daughter to take them home with her, but she wouldn't do it..lol. I am becoming a food pusher..in my attempts to push it away from my mouth, I try to push it on to other people!

Mr. Bebbi is gaining weight cause I am not eating all the food anymore..lol.

    ReplyDelete
  93. One more and I serial posted again..oops I did it again.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I haven't read all of them either lol

    I am pretty good, thanks!

I am FULL..I made a pretty good meal tonight(Thanks Mary for the compliment!)

BBQ chicken breasts that I marinated for 24 hours(lime, olive oil, garlic, etc.), homemade biscuits, sweet potato souffle with marshmallows, hehe....and a potato gratin and creamed corn haha

heavy, I know, but it was all we had until we gross-ery shop!

I have GOT to get back on my healthy kick! OH, the biscuits did have fat free milk LMAO(plus lots of REAL butter on top lol)

I forced my little bro to eat some sweet potato souffle...I made 1/2 w/o marshmallows for him lol

    ReplyDelete
  97. YUMMMMmmm that sounds like one heck of a marinade!! Sounds really yummy!!!

I had Schlotsky's for dinner. An Asian Chicken wrap, salad and baked bbq chips. Then, 3 ice cream bars..sheesh.

    ReplyDelete
  98. oh and I actually made a pitcher of sweet tea!

    ReplyDelete
  99. OMG> too funny..when I make sweet potatoes I have to do some with no marshmallows too because Mr. Bebbi doesn't like marshmallows. The only time I make it though is at Thanksgiving. That shit is so good..but biscuits..oh yum. I am a breadaholic for sure. I love warm biscuits with butter and grape jam..ohhh ..sheesh. I am drooling now.

    ReplyDelete
  100. dang that sounds good Bebbi! I love their food! Thanks, it was very juicy!!:)..the chicken that is lol

I LOVE ice cream and any dessert pretty much lol

    ReplyDelete
  101. haha cool!! Yeah, my lil bro actually kinda helped with the biscuits..I think I worked the dough a little too much, but still good.I used white lily flour

  105. seeing "pushers" makes me want a "push-up" lol
    LOVE orange sherbet!

    ReplyDelete
  106. White Lilly is good. I made some kolaches on New Years day and used White Lilly flour. I am quite the kolache queen. I won first place in 1987 Czech Fest, when we lived in Houston. Got put in the paper and have a plaque on the wall. I love to bake breads.

Kolaches are basically rolls with sausage and cheese or ham and cheese in them. Like pigs in a blanket.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I'm a bread-a-holic too! I realized we had no kinda bread to go with this meal..realized I had milk today lol...so I whipped up the biscuits!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Ohhh push ups .gosh, haven't had one of those in years and years! Since the kids were little. I remember we used to buy them in the summer.

  112. I can't go anywhere that serves unlimited bread (fazolis, Buckheads, Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster..etc) because I fill up on the bread and I can't stop. OMG, and put some of that olive oil & spices on the table and I am a GONER. I won't stop till they roll me out of the restaurant. I will literally make myself sick on it. They have a place called "Bravo" Italian restaurant here. They serve a bread like a foccacia with olive oil & spices to dip. shew..that is so good.

    ReplyDelete
  113. take care, enjoy your after Thanksgiving nap..hehe ;)

    ReplyDelete
  114. I scared off another one..muahahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Oh, Dianne, I didn't even realize there was an earthquake here today. We seldome feel them out here in the sticks, but once in a while we do.

I didn't hear anything about it today and it wasn't on the news that I saw.

When you mentioned push up Bebbi and Joey the first thing I thought of was push up bra!

I don't know about the guy who was stabbed, they got him out of our clinic fast and to the ED. He walked in and got blood everywhere, then collapsed.

Not sure why someone drove him in, rather than call 911. They probably panicked and just wanted to get him some help.

    ReplyDelete
  116. LOL@EBJ and push up bra!

I'm back for a minute lol

OMG I found a new song...I heard this blaring on my radio alarm clock the other morning and HAD to research to see who it was! Jazmine Sullivan "Bust your Windows"
    lol

    It's catchy lol

    BUST YOUR WINDOWS

Oh and one more..I love ANY song from Grey's Anatomy! I love the new Daniel Powter song used in last night's episode! It rocks!
