“TRIPPIN”

by Lynnd

I am all cozy in my bed watching HGTV (a little addicted to this channel) and I frequently see these commercials for these two drugs, YAZ and Celebrex. I listen as they list the benefits for people to take these FDA approved wonder drugs and then they get to the part about possible side affects. Note the words possible. Seems to me if you have to list them there it is a good possibility you will have problems. Just sayin. I turn to Mr. Lynn D after two of these back to back advertisements and say to him “Why is marijauna illegal if these are approved by the FDA?”

So I thought what the hell I will go to WebMD and look up what they have listed for these drugs. Let me just say I have to cut a lot of information out otherwise it would go on forever.

Celebrex: Which had a red warning flag from the FDA but is still available for use. WTF?

Side affects: Acute infection of the nose, throat or sinus Severe, Sinus irritation and congestion Severe, Fluid retention in the legs, feet, arms and hands Severe. Inflammation of the nose, indigestion, backache, dizzy,
chronic trouble sleeping, rash, head pain, feel like throwing up, gas diarreah, stomach cramps.

Now the side effects not listed in the commercial: Depression, Disease of the nerves, Increased pressure in the eyes, Cataracts, Blurred Vision, Pink eye, Pain in the eye, Middle ear infection, Earache, High blood pressure, Heart Attack Angina, Disease of the Arteries of the Heart, Infection caused by bacteria, Hemorrhage in the skull etc…These go on for 2 and half more pages and get worse as you read them. Why in all that is holy would you even want to take this drug? Why in the hell is it legal and approved by the FDA

YAZ: Which I found out is a birth control and also prescribed for PMS symptoms. I am just going to paste all of the fun things associated with this amazing helpful drug. (Yes sarcasm). Conditions: If you have any of these don’t take this drug. It could make the condition worse. I’m thinking if you breathe and are mobile avoid this one!

Depression, Irregular Involuntary Spasms of Limbs or Facial Muscles, Tobacco Smoking (DOES IT CAUSE SMOKING?), Epileptic Seizure, Migraine Headache, Increased Cardiovascular Event Risk, Breast Disease, Mammography Abnormal, Hearing Loss from Abnormal Growth of Middle Ear Bones, Neoplasm of Female Genital Organ, Activated Protein C Resistance, Severe Varicose Veins, Herpes Gestationis, Hyperlipoproteinemia, High Blood Pressure, Heart Attack, Non-Q Wave Heart Attack, Disease of the Arteries of the Heart, Blood Clot in Lung, Chronic Heart Failure, Disease of the Heart and Blood Vessels, Stroke, Obstruction of a Blood Vessel by a Blood Clot, Blood Clot in Vein, Blood Clot in a Deep Vein, Asthma, Liver Problems, Disease of the Gallbladder, Kidney Disease, Lump in the Breast, Endometriosis, Ovarian Cyst, Bleeding Not Related to Menstrual Period, Pregnancy Located Outside of Womb; Often in Fallopian Tube, Incomplete Abortion, Yellow-Brown Patches on Skin, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Abnormal Test Result for the Body's Sugar Tolerance, Pregnancy, High Amount of Blood Calcium from Spread of Breast Cancer, Uterine Fibroids, Liver Cancer, Breast Cancer, Family History of Breast Cancer, Cancer of the Cervix, Cancer of the Ovary, Cancer in the Lining of the Uterus, Breast Tumor, Tumor that is Dependent on Estrogen for Growth, Underactive Thyroid, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Amount of Triglyceride in the Blood, High Amount of Fats in the Blood, Porphyria, Hepatic Porphyria, Overweight, Disorder of Mental Processes due to a Brain Disease

These below are Normal reactions well normal is all relative.

Nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach cramping/bloating, dizziness, vaginal discomfort/irritation, increased vaginal fluids, or breast tenderness/enlargement may occur. Acne may improve or get worse. Vaginal bleeding between periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods may occur, especially during the first few months of use. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. If you miss 2 periods in a row (or 1 period if the pill has not been used properly), contact your doctor for a pregnancy test.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. I LOVE THIS COMMENT! DON’T READ THE SIDE EFFECTS JUST TRUST YOUR DOCTOR AND FDA AND THAT WONDERFUL DRUG REP!

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: changes in vaginal bleeding (e.g., continuous spotting, sudden heavy bleeding, missed periods), problem wearing contact lenses, dark patches on the skin (melasma), unwanted facial/body hair, swelling of the ankles/feet, weight changes (gain or loss). This medication may rarely cause serious (sometimes fatal) problems from blood clots (e.g., pulmonary embolism, stroke, heart attack). Seek immediate medical attention if you experience: sudden shortness of breath, chest/jaw/left arm pain, confusion, coughing up blood, sudden dizziness/fainting, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, tingling/weakness/numbness in the arms/legs, headaches that are different from those you may have experienced in the past (e.g., headaches with other symptoms such as vision changes/lack of coordination, existing migraines becoming worse, sudden/very severe headaches), slurred speech, weakness on one side of the body, vision problems/changes. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: lumps in the breast, severe stomach/abdominal/pelvic pain, mental/mood changes (e.g., depression, suicidal thoughts, persistent trouble sleeping), unusual tiredness, dark urine, yellowing eyes/skin. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Note how it says at the bottom that this is not a complete list of possible side effects! Holy Shit how long is the complete list and what other side effects could be left? Fur on your palms and the soles of your feet?

Physiological Effects of Marijuana
The active ingredient in pot is THC. That's short for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.

THC is rapidly absorbed after smoking a joint. Within minutes, THC and the other substances in marijuana smoke cause short-term medical effects.

Signs of using marijuana include: Rapid heart rate, Increased blood pressure, Increased rate of breathing, red eyes, dry mouth, Increased appetite or Munchies, Slowed reaction time.(Sounds like my symptoms after sex and not even good sex).

Psychological Effects of Marijuana
The main psychological effect of smoking pot is euphoria. Getting high or "stoned" is the reason most pot smokers use marijuana.

Other short-term psychological effects of pot include: Distorted sense of time, Paranoia, Magical or random thinking, Short term memory loss, Anxiety or depression. (I have all of these symptoms and I don’t smoke pot. It is called peri menopause or getting your drunk on).

These psychological signs of using pot also generally ease after a few hours. But residual effects can last through the next day. My peri menopause never goes away!

Heavy marijuana use lowers men's testosterone levels and sperm count and quality. Pot could decrease libido and fertility in some heavy-smoking men. Hmmm could this be the answer to male contraceptives? Seems like a missed opportunity for study to me.

Note they do not list these as possible effects of marijuana but as effects. What is most interesting to me is how short the list is even on the website there was not much more listed other than inconclusive findings as it seems no one has done long term studies to determine possible health issues.Well no scientific studies.

Oh and you don’t want me to list all of the problems with Oxycontin also known as hillbilly heroine. Another fine FDA approved drug. Why does the FDA hate us?

I know I can’t be the only person out there that questions how these crazy drugs make it through the FDA process and yet marijuana smoked by stoners for centuries is illegal. Am I crazy or are we all being taken on a trip down a path to line the pockets of drug companies or am I missing something? Off to have a cigarette and Bloody Mary more legal drugs. Can you feel the irony dripping from my keyboard? Well maybe my pores too.

  1. Lynn - I woke up with a headache this a.m. - dogs got me up before 5:30a.m. - think I'll go take something that has some side effects!!!

    LOL

I don't smoke "weed", but i sure can smell it (Can't I Whabby??!!!)

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!!

  3. LOL! Yes, MEK, you have a nose for value... especially in the back patios of San Francisco Bear bars!

Lynn D: The situation in this country vis a vis pot is... well, it's criminal!

California Assembly member Tom Ammiano has just introduced a bill to legalize pot in the state. Imagine the outcry that is going to generate. Should pot be legalized, it would be the end of civilization as we know it.

I think the only greater threat to us right now is gay marriage.

  4. Good Morning!

LYNND: I've always thought that if the government could tax pot, like they do cigarettes..it would be legal. I just think it's too hard for them to regulate.

I've raised concerns with my doctor about a couple of my medications. He always tells me that if there has been even one report of an unusual symptom during drug trials, they have to list it, even if they don't believe it relates to the drug at all.

That being said...knowledge is power..as cliche as that sounds. The best defense..is to educate yourself and ask questions. Lots of them.

    Interesting blog today LYNND..thank you!!

  5. MEK: Congrats on FIRST! You're back in the saddle again, I see. ;)

  6. Morning Glories!

Congrats of first MEK! You are up early!

I tried to italicize my comments in the blog but it did not work. So you guys will have to hunt for my sarcastic Easter eggs deposited here and there in the lists of side effects. LOL

I feel worse this morning for some reason. The cold has moved into my ears and I have a splitting headache! As bad as I feel I still would not take either of the drugs listed in my blog.

Whabby I read the other day that several states are considering legalization of Marijauna so they can gather tax revenues from it. That and porn! LOL

What drives me crazy is the poor people who have been prescribed medical marijuana and are still hassled and in danger of being arrested. Our jails are full of people who have been convicted for carrying personal use and it is driving up the cost for federal, state and local prisons and jails. When do we decide that this is ridiculous and make it a controlled substance?

Would I buy it if it was legal? I don't know. Depends how bad the peri menopause is that month. LMAO

I agree whabby it would more than likely become second to gay marriage in the issue arena.

Boy I am very fuzzy headed this morning and rambling. Off to get some cawfee.

    Morning Tina!

  7. LYNND: I'm asthmatic. My doctor wanted to put me on an inhaled steroid to help control the symptoms. I used it for the first time in his office. Everything seemed to be fine..and I left to go home. I was half way across the parking lot when my right arm flew up in the air. I couldn't believe it..and kinda just stood there, stunned. Then it did it again. And again. I went right back into the doctor's office and told the receptionist I needed to see the doctor immediately. She asked what was wrong. Before I could answer, my arm flew up in the air again. I said "That's what's wrong!!" They hurried me into the back..my arm flying up at will. When I told my doctor, he said "You must be having a reaction to the inhaler...don't use it." I asked if he could make it stop. He said it would stop on it's own..if it didn't..to come back!! It did stop...about half an hour later. I read the warning section of the enclosed literature for the inhaler when I got home. There was no mention of possible arm erections. It was just totally bizarre!!!

  8. Zona you probably have a great doctor. Unfortunatly not all doctors stay up on reports on drugs and lawsuits.

My friend found out more information on her Thyroid medicine by going to the FDA website and looking it up. She found out that there was a whole list of food and drugs that interacted with her medication that was not listed in any of the pamphlets she was given or was told by her doctor. She printed the list for him and he was shocked. On the list were everyday foods and even vitamins that cause the medication to not work properly.

    Yep education is the key.

  9. Good Morning Hooters!

    Congrats on 1st MEK

Lynn, I always tell Mr. Goldie that if my disease doesn't kill me, my meds sure will!

What he always says when we see the commercials for depression meds is that if you were not depressed before, you sure will be now.

Legalize pot?? I mean come on, you hear all the time about all the "Pot" smoking deaths- oh wait, I think that is 'drunk driving'.

We grow tobacco and tax it, why not pot? Oh, thats right, because of all the cancer that pot has caused. No wait, that cigarettes.

Ok, there must be a reason- it just fails me to think of one right now. I mean why would you legalize an organic plant that gives people relief from pain, nausea, and so forth when you can chemically produce a pill that can cause vast side effects?

Hope everyone has a good day.

  13. Good Morning - MEK, TINA, BEAR, ZONA, EUNICE, LYNN & GOLDIE,

lynn - Such a right on blog! The lists of side affects never cease to amaze me. Here you have drugs that are suppose to treat medical problems, and in turn, cause all sorts of potentially lethal side affects. Some are also quite embarrassing. I am remembering a drug that was advertised (I don't remember which one) that could cause greasy, uncontrollable stools. Well gee, that sounds pleasant. Doctors must detest these commercials. People must be calling all of the time asking for drugs they have seen advertised.

President Obama has put a stop to raiding medical marijuana facilities. I know someone who said smoking it was the only way to stop the nausea during chemo.

I hope everyone has a pleasant day.

    EUN

  14. Good morning!

    Congrats on 1st today MEK!

My favorite is the commercial for Viagro or Cialis that says if you get an erection for over 4 hours, to notify your Dr.

I can't remember which comedian it was who said if I have an erection over 4 hours, the first person I call will NOT be my Dr!

I had an elderly man come in not long ago to get his blood pressure checked.

As I started going over his current meds with him, he stopped me and said he had decided to quit taking everything.

He stopped his blood pressure meds, his cholesterol lowering drug, his meds for his diabetes, it was a fairly long list.

He said he felt so much better being off all that stuff, he didn't care if it shortened his life, he was glad to not be a slave to taking pills 3x a day.

He said all the pills made him sluggish, dizzy, he had many side affects from all the drugs he took on a daily basis.

Of course, his bp was sky high, and I checked his blood sugar and it too was sky high.

But he was happy with his decision and that was that.

We have sunshine this morning! Supposed to get more rain today at some point and tomorrow.

    Have a nice day everyone!

  15. Morning Everyone!!!

Great blog Lynndeeee and close to my heart....I respect and like my Doctor but sometimes I just wish I could have HIM take some of the medications he has prescribed. I am what is known as "chemically sensitive" which means in a nutshell, that I am liable to get stronger reactions or ones that other people don't. I recently was prescribed Lyrica for pain mgmt. The Dr started me off on a low dose and the plan was to build up gradually. I think this has been the scariest drug I ever have taken. At first I just felt "high" and a bit "off". Then I got bitchy. Next, I started to lose my mind LITERALLY! I couldn't remember ANYTHING!!! What is so extreme about that is I get teased all the time about never forgetting...as in "mind like a steel trap" That "trap" had certainly sprung! Next, my eyesight started to diminish. Now mind you, I had done some research on this stuff before I started to take it and my biggest concern was weight gain..HA! I found a forum by people that were taking it and 9 out 10 (!!!) people on this forum had SEVERE side effects, Some worse than mine. The scariest part was that some people were concerned that their memory and other problems were not dissipating after stopping the drug!!! Thankfully mine did after a while, but the more I read, the more I wondered why this drug was even out there. I know that some people did get relief, in fact I noticed a little, but this drug can cause congestive heart failure!!! I truly do not understand how some of these drugs even get approved. What is the process?

  16. Just checking in quickly and then I am going to lay down. I have to watch Ritchie later and I will need all the energy I can get. Oh and Ritchie cut his first tooth yesterday. So I am thinking he might be cranky for me.

Lani I think that drug is the weight loss one Wynonna Judd is advertising can't think of the name of it. I do know it is over the counter now.

EBJ I can understand how he would get frustrated. I don't know how I would be if I were taking all of those medications. I would hope that I could find a reasonable way and dosage to help with my health issues.

Scrishy I wish I knew how these drugs pass the FDA to. I don't want to ge the conspiracy theory route but it does seem that there might be pressure or payola in play here. Scary about that drug!

I had another friend that was put on Paxil. She was hospitalized for pnumonia and a nurse woke her in the middle of the night as she was having night terrors and trying to rip out her IV's. The nurse looked at her chart and saw Paxil listed and suggested she talk to her doctor about stopping the use. Well she stopped using it and is in much better shape and sleeping through the night. Night terrors is a side effect.

Ok off to bed for a nap.

    ReplyDelete
  17. scrishy- I have had only one reaction ever to all the drugs that I have taken (I'm talking legally perscribed here people) and that was LYRICA. Also put on it for pain management and it made my mouth numb and my lips and tongue feel swollen. I thought I was going to choke to death!! So that is my one and only 'allergy' listed on my charts. Yikes that was scary.
They changed it to Cymbalta- a depression medication that helps diabetic neuropathy. No side effects that I can tell, but the list of possibilities is endless. When I think of the combos I take I am forever gratefull that I don't have any more issues.

EBJ- I have had days I wanted to chuck them all too. But pretty sure I wouldn't last long without the insulin, so will stay the course..:)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Goldie....I have a sample bag of Cymbalta sitting in the cupboard...I haven't mustered up the courage to try it yet.

    Lani,Scirish & EBJ...

lYNND,You have hit on one of my biggest pet peeves..over medication.
I have had Drs. give me Oxycontin when all I needed was Motrin. I only take meds for my border line glaucoma, and hate doing that. Blindness seems like a bad option!
My poor Mother while she was alive was always over medicating herself. She was given new meds without her stopping the old ones. We found bags of old/new meds all over the house. I am sure she was confused and took old with new.
I only take Motrin when absolutely necessary. Just too many drugs out. jmho

EBJ: There are a couple of my Rx's I'd love to throw out the window..and I just may!!

  25. SCIRISH: I get paradoxical reactions to certain meds...which means they will have the opposite effect on me then what they are supposed to have. I once took a blood pressure pill and it raised my BP instead of lowering it. Very scary.

TINA: Congrats on QOTD...I'd know those squiggles anywhere... ;)

GOLDIE: I read in Area 51 that your ankle was doing better..I'm so glad! And just in time for the grandbaby visit! Woohoo!! :)

MARY: My doctor wanted to give me codeine for my knee...I assured him it wasn't necessary. He wrote the RX that way anyhow..and I asked the pharmacist to fill it with the non-codeine version.

  26. Hi Ritchie!!!

I just got a call from my insurance company (Aetna). Apparently my provider(hubbys insurance) has paid for a program that allows me to have nurse who will follow my health care and call me once a month to go over things. Explain tests and why they are ordered, ways to improve my health, yadda, yadda, yadda, and MEDICATIONS and their side effects and interactions!!

How timely was that phone call in relation to the blog????????? I said sure, I'm dying to know which drug is going to kill me first. There was dead silence on the other end. Then she said "does that mean you do or do not want to participate?" LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. HI RITCHIE!! Love the smile you typed! :)

LYNND: My sister was told she had slightly elevated cholesterol, and was given a perscription. She read the side effects..threw away the RX and changed her diet. It worked!

  43. I got my renewal for my car insurance today, I am so upset, it went up $400.00 from last year. One reason is because of my new car, the second reason is because of where I live, the ratio is higher, I am assuming its because I am close to Newark. I also carry a low deductible, which makes the premium higher...

I am going to shop around, however I think I am going to get the same crap from other insurance companies.

  46. LYNN...Great blog. Even though I don't smoke pot (or really eat fun brownies!!)I always thought it should be legal. ANd what a great source for taxation. It could also be grown safely and reduce the odds of getting bad bags. GOLDIE put it perfectly. I see some of the commercials and can't believe what they are pushing. Disgraceful.

If I take NyQuil...WIDE AWAKE! And when I was on the Topamax a side effect was weight loss...NOT FOR ME!

Where I work, I see the lists of meds patients are discharged with and I can't even fathom how they keep that straight. I think so many of the patients are truly over medicated.

My best friends mom was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. One of the side effects of radiation was burning of the esophogus. She was prescribed some powder that the pharmacist was to mix with a liquid and the correct dose for her mom to take was 1 tsp. The mixing formula was 5 tsp per 8 oz of liquid. Well, the pharmacy gave her the powder and she was wondering about taking 5 tsp of this powder so she called the pharmacy. He told her to bring it back and he will mix it like he was supposed to. She did and when she got home, the bottle still said to take 5 tsp. So she did. The pharmacy forgot to change the label. Needless to say she ended up back in the hospital for liver function testing. Thank god it was ok. WHo do you really trust concerning meds? Geeze.

Zona I keep thinking about your arm flying up and then think thank god it was not your leg! LOL

Like the rest of you I have weird reactions to certain drugs. If it says non drowsy you can forget it, I fall asleep everytime I try to take any of them. Sudafed, Contact etc....They don't work for me.

Tina I think they have medication for imaginary erections. Tho you might end up with bigger ears from the side effects.

Mary I am so with you on the drug thing. If I absolutely need it fine but otherwise forget about it. Mr. Lynn D yells at me all the time because I even wait to take Ibuprofen for headaches.

  49. Tina~ Won't Mr. Goldie be surprised when I tell him I had an erection....:)

Jodi- so sorry he is still sick. Bummer that he has the flu. Give him a hug from me.

My grandbaby is still running the fever and has pneumonia, Dr. says there is nothing much they can do but wait for the Med.s to kick in and keep giving him motrin and watch him if his breathing gets worse.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Goldie, poor baby! Hate to see kids sick! I used to cry ever time they gave my kids shots, especially when I would see them limping around afterwords.
Jodi~ :-( sad your boy is sick too!
    Thanks for the SacBarb update.

    Carol, only one erection?

MO,LMAO, MEK in choc.withdrawals and missing!

Raquel is a lot better today and went to class. She said the meds helped a lot. I hope she is careful. Her Dr. told her to not injure the area where her spleen is, because it needs to heal.

Jaimie recovered her coat and is safely back from D.C.

  54. Congrats on first Mek!

Hello everybody. I hope everyone had a good day.

    LynnD: Great Blog!

Oh gosh guys, I just don't know what to do! I am so indecisive and nervous sometimes. It makes me crazy!

Anyone ever owned a Buick Rendezvous or knew anyone who owned one? What did they think of it?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Carol: Watch out for Geico, if you don't have them already! They tricked me. I sat on the phone with them for two hours and was "guaranteed" that the rate wouldn't change and they changed it a few days after. I called, they fixed it. About two weeks later, they changed it again and wouldn't fix it. They didn't think I would go through the hassle of getting another company. I did though, I am with Allstate now. I am happy so far with them.

Mo: What a story, I am glad to hear that her liver wasn't damaged. My dad takes tons of medicines. A medicine they gave him recently caused his magnesium to deplete and almost killed him.

    ReplyDelete
  56. LynnD: I am like that too with the non-drowsy. They make me feel woozy and dreamlike.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Goldie: I saw a commercial tonight about someone saying that they called their ex girlfriend 42 times..then it said...an anti-pot message. Well, I have NEVER heard of anyone smoking pot and making "drunk" calls! That only happens when you drink a bunch of alcohol. What the heck, are we idiots? I mean the most that happens with pot is that you end up being really hungry and food never tasted SO GOOD...haha.

  58. LynnD: My daughter took Yaz..and it was horrible. She was so emotional and just a mess. She got off of it right away.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Bebbi,
I have heard some horror stories about Gieco, and you have just confirmed what I have heard, I will def not get a quote from them..

I was telling Lynnd in a e-mail about Yaz, and that god awful commercial, I think its so stupid. Glad your daughter got off of it quickly..

    ReplyDelete
  60. JodiHO!
You are just so sweet, you brighten my day.. Hope your son feels better very soon...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Carol: The bad thing about Yaz was that the doctors are "pushing" it because they have all the pharmaceutical reps coming in and giving perks if you push their drugs. She wanted off of it but I had to tell her that "SHE" was in control of her health, not the doctor and she had to be pushy to get another kind of birth control. Ridiculous that all the doctors are so caught up in their PERKS that they don't even care what they push anymore. You ask me, the drug pushers need to not be allowed to give perks to doctors to sell their wares!

  62. Whabby,
I just saw your question to me from a couple days back on Tommy from Brothers and Sisters. I actually read on-line that he wanted out of the show, as it seems he does not get along with the other actors. However I don't believe everything I read. I also heard that he will go to court for what he did and get a guilty sentence and have to go to jail, hence him leaving the show..

We shall see if its true..

    ReplyDelete
  63. Bebbi,
I agree, the docs sure do get lots of perks for pushing a drug. We really have to read everything and see how each drug affects us, and if the affects of one drug is not good, get off of it...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Mary,
Glad your nieces are both feeling better and doing good...

    And yes.. only one.. :O)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Bebbi,
Never owned a Buick, and truly don't know much about them. There must be something on-line about this type of car. Don't be nervous, things all seemed to work out..

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  66. MEK Congrats on #1 through FORE! What's this I hear about you being out of chocolate syrup? I NEVER let myself run out of Hershey's syrup! It's like a staple at my house. LOL

LynnD Very good blog today! I used to avoid taking anything thing. It's extremely rare for me to take anything for a headache but now there are other medications I have to take. I no longer have a thyroid gland so thyroid meds are a must. Then there's a few other things, too, now that I have gotten older and I have asthma. Fortunately, I haven't had any bad side effects, except for when I suddenly would start seeing double. It turned out I just needed my thryoid meds adjusted.

I seem to have come down with a cold. My throat hurts and I've done a lot of sneezing today. Hopefully, it won't get any worse than this.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Bebbi,
Shirley is really good at researching things on-line, if she reads the comments 2nite or tomorrow, she might me able to find something about this car...

    ReplyDelete
  68. J/L...

Hi, I know that throat thingy, it sucks.. Hope it goes away soon and does not linger...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Mo,
That is awful, I can't believe what a mix up. So glad everything worked out in the end. It is quite scary, you really have to read up on everything..

    ReplyDelete
  70. Carol I'm thinking some vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup on it would feel really good on my throat. :)

Mary I'm so glad to hear that Raquel is recovering and that Jaimie is doing better and is out and about. That's great!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks Carol! Yes, I have done lots of research and I did a carfax on it tonight. I like the car a lot. I am nervous about the mpg, but it says 18/24 and I can handle that. I hope that is right.

I have never had an All Wheel Drive before, so I don't know what that will be like either.

    ReplyDelete
  72. J/L,
OMG, love to have ice cream when my throat is screaming it makes it feel so much better..

    Go have some and Enjoy!

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Bebbi,
I have never had a all wheel drive either, but I have heard they are good in the snow..

What year is it? and how many miles does it have on it?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Crap.. J/L, now I want ice cream..

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Sorry, Carol. I remember when I was about 5, I had my tonsils out and when I came home from the hospital, I got to eat ice cream often. :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Bebbi, My DIL had a Rendezvous a few years back. She loved hers. Like most cars you can get them stripped down or fully loaded. Kudos to you for checking out the G.M. family! I worked for them for 27 years and know how quality control is top priority there. Our biggest quality control problem came from the electrical components. They were put together in Mexico. I was an electrical checker. Take your time. I know you will find the right fit for you. I bought a Jeep Liberty Limited last year, a Chrysler product. I worked for them 11 years. I get a discount either way.Let me know you need a referral #. My DIL just bought a new G.M car. She got a discount with my referral#. Yay you're both helping the economy!!

  77. J/L,

"remember when I was about 5, I had my tonsils out and when I came home from the hospital, I got to eat ice cream often. :)"

    Me too!

    :O)

  78. Carol, I just had vanilla ice cream with choc. syrup and caramel sprinkles yummy!!!

  79. It is a 2004 and has 53K. Two owners. It has a lift and scooter that comes with it, that will be really nice for going to visit my dad because he can't walk around very good. I am just nervous Nelly about having car payments again and all that jazz.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It must be ice cream night in the nest. :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. It feels like the right one because I am getting something so I can go and visit my dad. It just happens to have a scooter and lift too, he can use that because he can walk short distances but needs a scooter whenever we go anywhere. When he comes here and we take him to the track or where ever, I have to call in advance to make sure and arrange a wheelchair. I thought it would be nice to have that already to go for him.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Give me your opinions. That is not the price I am getting it for though, he has gone down quite a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Bebbi The car looks like it's in very good shape so if it meets your needs, it would probably be good for you.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thanks J/L, I appreciate the opinion! :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. Bebbi,
That looks like a great car, and wow you get the scooter too, thats a bonus, I think the mileage is quite good too...

Ask them if you can take it to your mechanic so it can be looked over before you buy it..

If you feel its right then go for it, as far as the car payments, that is always a scary decision.
When I am deciding on a car, I always make sure my car payment is a amount that I can always come up, even if I am having tight money month. You should never go above what you think you can squeeze out each month..

    Make sense?

  86. ATTN CHOCOLATE LOVERS!!!!

i managed to make it to the grocery store and got the chocolate syrup!!! I don't know what I would have done if I had to go TWO mornings in a row!!!

haven't had a chance to read up ..

that tournament really took it's toll on my health and having an EXTREMELY active puppy doesn't help much either.......

  87. OH - and at the grocery store - as I got ready to write my check, the cashier said. "Wait, I need to ask you a question and i really don't know if i should.. do you quality for "this" (and she held up a piece of paper).......

apparently, it was Senior Day and she couldn't quite tell if i was old enough...........

SO - not only did I feel like crap, but i must have really looked like crap AND looked OLD!!!

how's that for a great day!! !NOT!!

When I told her no, she must have said SORRY a 100 times!!! so at least she felt bad........

and I did laugh about it......but still!!!

    okay - off to bed....

    waving good nite to all...........

    ReplyDelete
  88. Carol: Complete sense. :) I haven't had a car payment for a long LONG time. I just hate having to have one but the nice thing is, I can go and visit my dad, daughter, etc. without worrying as much.

I have to call my insurance agent tomorrow and talk to my peeps.

I had Mr. Bebbi look it over. He is good with cars and I am glad that he can help so much with it,

I am heading to bed as I have a big day tomorrow. Take care all and goodnight!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Uh, MEK, I feel like crap and I AM old!!!! :(

    ReplyDelete
  90. MEK Do you make yourself chocolate milk every morning? I used to be addicted to it made with Hershey's syrup. I could drink 6 glasses a day, easy. I had to completely quit.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I guess everyone has turned in for the night. Sweet dreams, Owls.
