This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Did you know?
by EBJ
I received this video recently, and wanted to share with all of you, it got me thinking.
WOW... that video really makaes you think... my neice is a freshman studying engineering... wonder if what she is studying will out dated that soon.. I am waiting on the fridge ... my window for delivery is 8:30 -12:30... it is 9:30 here... and I was supposed to be first ... we will see... hope everyone has a great day!!!
EBJ what it means to me is that we better get our shit together and fund and overhall our education system or we will be a third world country!
This is why we have a President pushing for new technology education and green technologies as green technologies are part of the wave of the future.
As far as people staying jobs there are few companies and corporations that offer incentive to stay. Used to be you stayed because of full retirement and benefits but those have been deregulated out of existance as the rights have shifted to the companies and out of the hands of the employees.
This is a wake up call and we better not sleep through the alarm. IMHO
Shirley(NCC-1701) said... Could someone please post this breakfast menu onto the new blog, I have to go to work. Thanks!

Noah arrived last night at about 9:45...He kinda missed his 6pm window and I was worried they were going to do a C-section, which she didn't want. But he made it in time...He is 7lbs 11ozs and 20 inches, pretty good for 2 weeks early!!!
STILL WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SCIRISH - Congrats on first....and on Noah!! Luv that name. I never made it my due date with any of my kids. My last one was 8 lbs 2 oz....2 weeks early!!!
Very interesting video....it really does make one think. I just got home from having a couple beers and a bar burger with my brother, so not fully able to give my full opinion. All I can say for now is WOW!!!
scirish Congrats on #1 and many congrats on Baby Noah!
IBB Congrats on the new fridge. Don't you just love it when they come AFTER the window for delivery? What excuse did they have?
EBJ That was a very interesting blog and a bit scary, too. There is so much traffic in our airwaves now. I think that might be what is killing the bees and we are going to be in deep doo-doo without the bees cross-pollinating for our food supply.
MR. EBJ and my dad went to Reno yesterday, so I had an evening to myself last night.
It was kind of lonely and I didn't really enjoy it, surprisingly. I thought I would.
When MR. EBJ called this morning and asked me if I missed him, I honestly said yes!
Scirish, congratulations on your new baby! Two new babies this week, that is awesome!
And IBB congrats on the new fridge!
When we moved to this house, we bought a new fridge. I'd never owned a fridge with an icemaker, so I was very excited to get one that didn't require me filling up the ice cube trays!
I will check back. Hope everyone is having a nice day.
IBB...congrats on thenew arrival! What have you named the baby? LOL!
I was having my dishwasher delivered a few years ago and I waited and called and waited and called...they finally admitted it was never put on the truck! They got it there after 4 (schduled time was 7am - 11am). As soon as the delivery guy left, I got in the car, went to Lowe's and promptly got my delivery fee back!
JODI...bar burger sounds delish! I was wondering what to make for dinner...maybe a burger will just hit the spot!
Hi to JUST LIN and TINA!
Gonna get outside...maybe walk around an outdoor mall and window shop and absorb the sun! And pick out all the things I will buy when I hit the lottery!!
JUST LIN...it was $60 bucks and I felt my time was worth that. Besides, they lied all morning. If they were honest, I could have done other things until it was inally going to arrive. I also had another order with them to deliver some cabinets when they came in...he took off that charge too!
Ok, face is on and I changed purses from brown leather to tan crochet...now it is really time to get out!!!
I have been flat on my back with vertigo! What the crap? It started last night and really hit me hard today.
My daughter the nurse thinks it is the water pills I am taking as it is one of the side affects. That's it I am done. Not taking the damn things any more. I can deal with the nausea but not this. I feel like a drunk! Every time I get up I roll into a wall.
I felt slightly better as I have napped and drank a bunch of water. Going to lay back down and see if it will go away.
Hope you are all having a great day!
The plus, Mr. Lynn D went and ran all of my errands including grocery shopping! Bet I can get him to make dinner!
MO That was def worth getting your delivery fee taken off. Good for you! I'm still using a black leather purse. I'm not good at changing purses for seasons or anything else, for that matter.
LynnD Well, that is def not a side effect you can put up with. I hope things settle down soon. Here's hoping Mr. LynnD fixes something good for dinner and that you can actually enjoy it.
IBB: Your niece's curriculum will do her just fine. There's a big difference between the rate that information is able to get disseminated, and the information itself. Science and Engineering courses teach what has been discovered over the last 500 years of experimentation and development and practical experience, and the resulting pool of knowledge will remain part of the curriculum forever.
EBJ: This kind of video is really neat, and totally opens up our eyes to how fast information technology is changing how we access information, and more importantly, how fast our opportunities to access additional information is changing. However, if the impression being left is that knowledge itself is getting completely overturned, and at a faster and faster rate, then the video is doing us a disservice!
I just got home from wandering around the outlet mall. It was such a beautiful day. I hadn't been there since I lost my job in July 07. It was busier then I remember seeing it in years. I don't know if it was just me, but there was NOTHING I even remotely wanted! Looks like when I win the lottery I don't have to go back there!! Oh, oh...I did find one thing...real fake diamond earrings marked down from 7.50 to 2.49! Woo Hoo. They are real fake white gold and will look lovely with the traveling necklace when it gets here!
Scrishy- Congrats on baby Noah!! The Grandma thing just never gets old...:)
Ibb- congrats on the fridge!!
Jodi- I left you a voice mail the other day- I hope you appreciated the fact that I would drag my tits over 5 miles of hot coals for you.... :)
Lynn- hope you feel better, Vertigo is a bitch.
We went to the camper yesterday, it was 75 and sunny and we worked like dogs, raked, cleaned and got everything opened up. Went Caddy Shack (a bar in town) for dinner- LOVE their burgers, and hung out with friends. Today was another great 75 degree day. LOTS of laps around the lake (about a mile) so Pepper and I are both pooped. Got home to Madison around 5 to clouds, sprinkles and 65. Should have stayed there! Oh well. I actually wore shorts today. Ghostly white is the only way to describe my legs!
EBJ, that is a very interesting video. It's hard to believe that it wasn't that long ago that we didn't have cell phones and Turtle wouldn't have been stressed at all! My Mom always made sure I had a dime so I could make an emergency call. Today I just have to make sure my phone is charged. :)
Scirish, Congrats on #1 and on Noah.
IBB, so glad your fridge finally arrived.
LynnD, You definitely need to call and get the med changed. I hope the vertigo goes away quickly. You made me chuckle when you said you were going to loearn Chinese.
Thanks to Shirley for breaky and to Mo for reposting it.
J/L, that's an interesting theory about the bees.
Tinka, congrats on 30
Goldie, Congrats on 50
Waving to all the other Owls. I hope you are all having a great day.
Maureen I knew someone would come along who needed it more than I did. You happened to be that person. So happy 69!
Thanks for posting my breakfast menu for me. I hope Carol noticed the cawfee and mounds of bacon I left her. I just finish an hour long session on the phone with my sister doing her income tax. Every year I send her an email with everything that she will need before she calls and she is never ready. She always misses something. So now I have a headache and I am going to bed. Good night all.
Tina and Carol I watched Grey Gardens, also. Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore were great! I had seen the documentary quite a while back. Excellent and fascinating.
Yippee!!! Must be my lucky day!!!! Off to read!
