I am writing about my fun trip to the Caribbean. It came about when I went to Penny’s retirement party last summer. I worked with her at G.M.(General Motors )for many years. She mentioned that a group from work and a few of her relatives have been “cruising” for many years. One of her sisters said she couldn’t make it this year due to finances. This left someone without a cabin mate. She only had to ask me once if I wanted to go. I said “yes”! Pretty gutsy of me, a land lover” lol! There would be a total of 40 going from the Lansing area.
My room mate would be Diane.I couldn’t have asked for a better “roomie”. I knew her from work, but didn’t socialize. The whole week was like a high school pj party. We slept in, stayed out and partied, laid out in the sun, and roamed the Islands. We googly eyed all the Italian Stallions. There was one in particular that I was drooling over. He did nothing but walk around in his wonderful Italian cloths, dark skin and jet black hair. He seemed to be everywhere. He must have been there for just “our” pleasure lol!
On our last night our group went to a Disco. There, walking by in a black linen suit was my stallion! I was going to miss him! I looked up from my drink and saw something I will never forget! Diane was talking to him as they were walking towards me! She had asked him to have his picture taken with me!!
I almost passed out! He graciously stood behind me and posed for the pic! I shook his hand and thanked him. That is all I remember! I am sure I floated the rest of the night! Now THAT is a true friend!
I have waited to post this because I wanted to add the picture. It was taken with Diane’s camera. As you can see I got the picture!
Love them Italians!
yay.....a blog by mary! ...that i will have to read later~
ReplyDeletei'm so pretty~
ReplyDeletei love my pic~
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Tina!!
ReplyDeleteMary..Whoa!!!! What a hunk!!! I never thought that I would like a cruise...I may have to re-think that!
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteMARY: I loved your blog!! It sounds like you had a wonderful time cruising..and oogling! The picture is so damn cute...you look great and you just sparkle with happiness in the arms of your Italian Stallion! What is it about Italian men anyway?? They are all so gorgeous.
I'm glad you had so much fun..and thank you for a terrific blog, and pic. :D
TINA: Congrats on FIRST Gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteG'morning SCIRISH! Settle down now..lol..
Congrats on the Blog, Mary! You found a gigolo! A perfectly respectable profession in Italy. What a looker! Was he from the Sicily region?
ReplyDeleteGood morning to Tina, Scrish, Zona and everyone coming later. Tina, I'm doin' a finger dance for your #1. I call it "the bird".
Hi!
ReplyDeleteHappy for 1 for the pretty lady :O)
Mary!
ReplyDeleteWowza! that is one hot Italian Stallion, and may I say.. You are one Hot Tamale! Wowza..
Morning..
ReplyDeleteTina, Scirish, Zona, Bonacci, Eunice, and me.
Mary!
ReplyDeleteSorry I was fascinated my the pic of the amazingly attractive couple and I forgot to say!
Great Blog! Thanks for sharing with us, writing it, and sending it off to me..
Perfect!
CPGEM: Good Morning to you too! :)
ReplyDeleteHi BONACCI!
Good Morning Hooters!1
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st tina~
Mary- I always have wanted to take a cruise, now I know why!!
******A little update****
Haley had a little turn for the worse. She is in a lot of pain and they discovered that her feeding tube was not in correctly, so it had to be moved. Instead of days with it, they are now saying weeks. That means weeks in the hospital instead of 5-7 days. Poor little girl.
This is also going to increase the already huge medical bills not covered by insurance. The family lives 2 hours away from the hospital, so dad has to go back to work and their other child, while Mom stays. This whole thing is so sad.
***********************************
Thanks for indulging me - I am going to shamelessly beg for donations for the benefit. I will post the address of the bank soon. :)
I hope everyone has a good day and is feeling better.
MEK- Sorry, but I had to laugh about TUG helping herself to a little lunch and "cleaning up the yard" of the pesky little black things!
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteTina congrats on first!
Oh Geez Mary I did not think it was possible but I think I have a hard on! LOL That guy is gorgeous!
How fun for you and great that Diane asked if he would take a pic. What a nice man. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Wish I could have gone with you! Great blog and thanks for the morning eye candy!
GOLDIE: Oh, I feel so badly for Haley and her family! I will continue to pray for them, and help however I can.
ReplyDeleteGoldie thank you for the update on Hailey. I will send up more prayers and yes please post the address of the bank, I would like to donate something for the family.
ReplyDeleteWaving at Tina, Zona, Scrishy, bonacci and Carol!
I will be gone most of the day doing food bank stuff!
Everyone have a wonderful day!
Oh and Mary I went back and looked at the picture again and you do look damn cute with the Stallion. Sorry I did not notice before because well I am a healthy female and only saw the Stallion at first! LOL
Goldie~What an awful situation for that family! I'm glad that there will be donations to help with the enormous expense. A friend of a friend had a similar situation and ended up losing their house. That just should not be allowed to happen!!
ReplyDeleteGoldie, I've tried not to be intrusive about Hailey, but I must have missed reading about her. Of course, she's in my thoughts and I hope she's okay. I hope Mom & Dad have a good support system as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Bonocci- Haley is my DIL's 4 year old cousin. She had surgery to repair an obstruction in her bowels that she was born with. They did not actually diagnos the problem until recently. 4 years of tests and being sick late, Mom not working, dad was laid off, just called back and the insurance company says they have paid their limit. Soooo,
ReplyDeleteMajor surgery not covered or the hospital stay at all.
Mom and Dad have a great support system. Dad is one of 9 kids, and they are close as are all the in-laws and out-laws (me) by marriage.
Prayers and well wishes for Haley are greatly appreciated too!
They have just started a page on Caringjournal.com- Look for Miss Haley if you wish to view. They don't have much but the guestbook up yet, but I believe that they will be updating.
Little Haley will be in my thoughts. What a little trooper, and Mom & Dad must have a solid relationship. Makes you wonder why a hospital wouldn't do something like this pro bono.
ReplyDeleteHappy WEdnesday!!
ReplyDeleteMary wrote a blog!!!! HAPPY DANCE!! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!! AND the picture!!!
:-)
Tina - congrats on FIRST!!
waving howdy to Tina, Scirish, Sona, bonacci, cpgem, Goldie, Lynn D, and all who land..

Goldie - continued thoughts and prayers for Haley and her family - thank you for updating us..
ReplyDeleteAND - no problem laughing at our little Tug - she really is quite the handful!!!
LYNND: Oh my.. ;)
ReplyDeleteMEK: Tug is a handful? There's an understatement!! :D
Zona - LMAO - I was trying to be nice!!
ReplyDeleteour little "handful" just brought me a handful of cat crap from the goodie box!! YUM... NOT..
Mary, what about the FOOD?? What kind of delicious delights did you discover on your cruise?
ReplyDeleteMare mare~ I love it~ you look so cute next to that somewhat good looking man~ :)~ I'm so glad you had a fun time~
ReplyDeleteBonacci~ did you just do what I think you did?
Goldie~ Still praying for Haley and her family~

ReplyDeleteGood Morning OWLETTES!!!!
ReplyDeletewell at least it still is in most time zones...
Tina congrats on 1st!!!!
Morning to scirishy....zona...bonacci.... carol... goldie...lynnD... MEK... Caryn...
Goldie... continued prayers for little Haley...in our area there are programs you can enroll in for help with medical bills and such... they would definetly quilify...it is a lot of paper work... but well worth it in the end... and they don't tell you about them.. you have to seek them out...
Congrats on #1 Tina!
ReplyDeleteMary Thanks for the blog and what a great photo! That is one fine Italian Stallion! The first cruise I went on was an Italian line and it's still my favorite. The men were gorgeous and they know how to flirt with there eyes. And the food? OMG! Outstanding! Each evening, before your entree was served, there was a fresh hand-made pasta of some type. I never realized how very delicious fresh pasta is. I just love those Italians.
Goldie, so sorry to hear about little Haley. Holding good thoughts for her and family.
ReplyDeleteWe're having a lovely sunny morning, a bit chilly with the wind but it's great weather for spring cleaning.
Great news -- Paul got a job offer in OKC! It's about half what he's making now but what we expected in this economy. We're just thankful to be able to put food on the table, even crumbs at this point. Excellent benefits, always a plus!
The CPAP is working wonders! The inflammation I've endured for years is slowly leaving my body. I'm waking up and getting out of bed earlier. The only drawback is having to clean attachments every morning and keeping an eye on the water in the humidifier but it's quickly becoming part of my routine.
I'm dogsitting my friend's 18 month old havanese for two weeks. He's adorable trying to get my two couch potatoes to play with him! He play bows and slaps the floor with his paws and they just stare and grumble. They are only 2 and 4 years old but I swear they act like senior citizens, lol!
Have a most excellent day everyone! Oh what a beautiful morning.....(is it ironic that this song comes from "Oklahoma!"?)
I do know that should be "their eyes" and not "there eyes" but I don't want to retype the whole post. :)
ReplyDeleteNow Mary....
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog....
AND Picture...hubba hubba... I have never been on a cruise... I think I wouldn't want my hubby on my first one with me...
sounds like you had a wonderful time... thank you so much for sharing your italian stallion with us!!!!
Morning Just Lin...
ReplyDeleteGood morning, IBB!
ReplyDeleteZona I keep humming that Julie song!
I wonder if the Italian Stallion gives riding lessons. Bwahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteMEK Congrats on 25! I'm never here in time for that. :(
ReplyDeleteCaryn, you are one happy woman today! The optimism is just spilling out. It's so wonderful to see someone so happy and expressing it so delightfully.
ReplyDeleteCaryn Just scrolled up and saw your post. I'm so happy for you that Paul got a position in OKC! That is great news. Maybe the cost of living is lower than it is here in the Bay Area. Everything will work out I'm sure. I hope you will continue to visit us here and let us know how things are going.
ReplyDeleteTina, congrats on first!!
ReplyDeleteMary, your Italian Stallion is gorgeous! No wonder you were ga-ga over him. I love the picture and I'm so glad you had a good time.
Caryn, yea for hubby!! And, how great that you're feeling great! Good news all around.
Goldie, continued prayers for little Haley and her family.
Hi Scirish! I forgot to tell you yesterday how much I enjoyed your QOTD about the spider relay race! LOL
Hello, Zona! Are you skinny dippin' yet? ;)

ReplyDeleteI almost forgot Carol told me my blog was up today!
ReplyDeleteI am loving all the comments!
First I would like to say how sorry I am to hear about Haley's set back. I have joined her website from my Facebook pg. I am waiting for the bank info. to send a donation. Prayers will continue here.
Bonacci, I never tasted the "Italian" , but I have a feeling he would have been delish! lol!
Lynnd, LMAO!! if I had a "tool" It would have been hard all during the trip lol!
IBB,def. should travel with "girls only" on Italian cruises lol!
Caryn, glad the CPAP is working for you. My brother has to use it. He had great results too.
Justlin, I would have been first in line ha ha!! Bare back of course ;-)
Wow, lots going on this morning!
ReplyDeleteCaryn, I just left Paul a congrats note on Facebook... that must be such a relief!
Goldie, I'll be glad to contribute!
Mary: Great blog! He's totally adorable!
You now have full official cougar status!
Mary LOL @ bare back!
ReplyDeleteNeed to go dry my hair before it dries funny.
Woo Hoo! I never think to get those. I hope Shirley's watching.
ReplyDeleteMARY - What a great picture.....and your handsome man looks sincerely pleased to be posing with you. Handsome & charming! Not only did you get the catch of the day out at sea, you got to travel with what sounds like a great group of friends.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read the comments yet, but did notice EUNICE, and yes, as always you are the prettiest of all.
A great Spring day to all of my OWL friends.
Hi Jodi!

Hello there BEAR!! :D
TINA: Don't work too hard..hope you aren't getting too many grumpys..
ReplyDelete*****UPDATE******
ReplyDeleteI have the address info for the Haley Benefit if you would like it.
I THINK I sent it to everyone who asked for it, via email or myspace. Please let me know if I missed you, I'm sorry but I am blonde, tired and trying...:)
I don't want to post it here because it contains her name- and in the cyberworld, and with Lurkers- it can be a bit dicey.
***************************
YEAH for Mr. Caryn!!
Eunice, did I mention how lovely you look (choke) today?
Zona, no side saddle here! I need to have full grip. Don't want to fall off! if you "get my grip" ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am sooo full of it today lol!
Caryn, Jumping for joy here for you & the Mr!
bbl I am baking a bunt cake and making chicken & dumplings.
Happy Hump Day Owls.
ReplyDeleteI got up really late today. Still having problems with the electricity and the hunky electrician will be here in the morning. YAY!!!!
Mary, I think your hunky Italian Stallion trumps my hunky electrician. I have to pay my guy. :) It sounds like you had a really good time on your cruise. I am really afraid of water and I don't swim, so I will never take a cruise. I will have to be happy with the hunks I can find on land.
Bonacci, LOL @ your 'finger dance'
Goldie, still praying for Haley and thanks for posting the web site. I will check it out.
Caryn, Congrats to Paul and I'm glad the CPAP is helping.
MEK, congrats on 25 and your 'gifts' from Tug.
J/L, congrats on 50.
Hi Granny Lani, good to see you posting.
I gotta rush out for a 1:00 appt, but I'm waving at Scirish, Zona, CPGEM, Lynn and her hard on, IBB, Sandie, Jodi, Bear and all who land later.
SACBARB: You seem to do just fine with your land hunks... ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm tired now...
ReplyDeletedidn't matter if you were tired....i been waitin'~ :)~
ReplyDeletebtw....the psgrs aren't grumpy today....I AM!!! :)~
and Lani~ thanks for making me feel pretty~
ReplyDeleteGoldie~ thanks for the update on Haley~ the poor thing~
TINA: LOL!! Maybe you'll feel a little better now that you got that 69...or maybe some chocolate would help? :D
ReplyDeleteDear blond, tired and trying - thank you for the update.
ReplyDeleteThank you MARY - good to see you also.
ZONA - ITEACH must be laughing, she with her 4 children who finds time to post...she puts me to shame.
EUNICE - I think you know how TOAD feels about you.
BARB - I am going to tell CABINET GUY how you feel about ELECTRICIAN GUY!
Lani, you crack me up on SacBarbs land lovers!
ReplyDeleteSacBarb, I can't swim either.
btw, I would have been HAPPY to "pay" my stallion lol!
Tina, congrats on 1st and the first 69er on hump day!!
ReplyDeleteGoldie, I'd like that address if it's not a bother. Also, maybe permission to share with a company called Yardi that makes donations?
ReplyDeletebonacci- great, how do I get it to you? Do you have a myspace page? If not, then might someone we both know have our mutual emails? Maybe Carol?
ReplyDeleteYes to the company- they can use all the help they can get.
Bonacci- told you I was blonde.
ReplyDeleteNEVER MIND - I just sent the info to you via email!!!
I keep meaning to tell you all that I'd be happy to send the book "The Necklace" to anyone who would like to read it. I don't want it back so you can pass it around amongst yourselves. Let me know~
ReplyDeleteMy baby girl, Aubree, is 13 today! No more babies at my house. :(
Goldie, could you send the info to my myspace, too?
SacBarb, stick to your story. Electricity's on the fritz. Roof leaks. Water heater doesn't work. Sink's clogged. It's years of eye candy. You could also take some swimming lessons which could lead to surfing, snorkeling, scuba, the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteGoldie, from one blonde to another. I understand perfectly. We're smart. We just keep it a secret!
ReplyDeleteSANDIE: Wish Aubree a Happy Birthday for me, kay?
ReplyDeleteLOL..LANI telling on SACBARB!!!

ReplyDeleteHello, Zona and SacBarb! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd on a more serious note: The New Hampshire Senate just narrowly voted in favor of a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in the state.
Every Republican member of the state Senate voted against the bill.
This makes me so sad.
Nice blog Mary and very nice picture!!
ReplyDeleteTina congrats on 1st.
Good evening/afternoon to everyone. I just got home from work and I am really tired. One more day of tax season here in Canada. I think I am just going to get something to eat and go to bed. Tomorrow promises to be a crazy day.
Goldie good thoughts for Haley.
Caryn glad the CPAP is working for you and glad Mr. Caryn found a job.
Just a reminder for everyone, I will be posting the stats either late tomorrow or Friday morning so there is still time to bribe me.
Whab:
ReplyDeleteI just saw that~ and sadder yet, the Gov is a democrat that does not believe in gay marriage. I am still hopeful that the Hawaii legislature will pull our current bill out of committee and vote on it. Civil Unions is a start in Hawaii.
Goldie....Me too, for the addy pls!
ReplyDeleteJust got a recorded phone call from the Governor's Office...We have two confirmed cases of Swine Flu.....
Great news! Kids are so incredible sometimes. They can bounce back so fast. Lets hope it keeps up:
ReplyDeleteWednesday, April 29, 2009 5:53 PM, CDT
"This afternoon Haley made so much improvement. She wanted to go for a wagon ride. So we did that and then she wanted to get out of the wagon. She walked up to the fish tank, danced and road a trike around for about 45 minutes. She still has the tube in her nose, but the fluids are clear now, but they don't have it hooked up and she isnt feeling like she is going to throw up. So that is awesome. She did not take her pain medicine because she said she doesn't need it right now. She saw the nurses eating cookies and really wanted one, so now she isn't very happy with me. Now she is sitting upright in her bed and playing with playdough. Thank You for your prayers!!"
I just know that My HOOTERS had something to do with this!!
Happy Birthday Aubree- oh my gosh, the teen years. You have my sympathy Sandie..LOL
Whabbear- it baffles me how anyone can vote to deny equality.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a bumper sticker I saw the other day.
"If gay marriage is a threat to you, don't marry a gay"
the other bumper stick on that car said
"I support gay marriage and the right to bear arms." LOL
Goldie, that's such great news about Haley!! She's a pretty amazing little girl. Thanks for the birthday wishes for Aubree--and for the sympathy--I know I'll need it. :)
ReplyDeleteZona, I told her! She said thank you!
Good evening Owls.
ReplyDeleteI just got caught up on the comments.
Lani, I was hoping no one would pick up on that!
Sandie, HB to Aubree. I don't have any experience with girls, but I wish you luck anyway.
Bonacci, I took swim lessons when I was 10 and again when I was 14. It was a lost cause both times.
Bear, Yay for NH. Goldie, That's great news about Haley.
Tina, Maybe it's Eunice's tight curls that are making you grumpy.
K-grl, Good thoughts for Hawaii's legislature.
Hi Shirley.
Scirish, I heard on the news today that the first death in CA from Swine Flu was a 23 month old child. There are about 70 reported cases in CA to date. Eleven of those are children at the same school where the first reported case occured. It is getting scary.
I'm going to watch AIdol from last night. I had to TiVo it. BBL
ReplyDeleteSANDIE - Happy B'day to AUBREE!! Welcome to my pain....lol!!
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE - That's great news about Haley!!
I hope everyone has a great night...:O) :O) :O)
Thank you sacbarb! After two boys, I feel a little unprepared myself.
ReplyDeleteI know, the swine flu is scary! I just told my parents tonight that if there are cases reported here then they are staying in and I'll bring them things. It really scares me for them, especially my Dad with his breathing issues.
SANDIE - I would love to read the book!!! Been looking for something new to read.
ReplyDeletegood evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteMARY...Molto Bene!! Delicious! If I were a vegetarian I would become a carnivore to get a taste of that meat!!! bwahahaha. You look awesome, too!
GOLDIE... so happy to read of the improvements Haley made. Can they take her home and get a home care nurse to come out and maintain her feeding tube?
Since she basically has no insurance and her parents are financially strapped, can she get covered by Medicaid? I believe there are emergency medicaid benefits for children. As previously mentioned, they don't offer up that info, you have to ask. I hope they have consulted with the social worker. Continued prayers to Haley and her family.
TINA...you're a goof...ijs!!
ZONA...I see you!
Was SHIRLEY here? Bwahahahahah
SANDIE...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Aubrey!
MO - Thought about you when I had pork steak for supper last night....you were delicious!!! lol!!
ReplyDeleteJODI...musta been a fatty pork steak :)~
ReplyDeleteMo and Jodi, thank you--I'll tell her.
ReplyDeleteMo, LOL at "fatty pork steak!" Silly piggy.
Jodi, I'll send the book to you.
TINA...grumpy? You probably just miss your in-laws!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhab & Kgrl, just remember that the bill did pass. One state at a time, the dream's coming true. This Republican is proud to support gay marriage.
ReplyDeleteGoldie, wonderful news about Haley. Progress is great and I'm still keeping her in my thoughts.
SacBarb, you don't have to learn to swim! It might be more fun if you don't. Then the beefy coach will have to hold on to you.
Good evening hooters!
ReplyDeleteWhoa Mary, that stallion is GORGEOUS!
I had a friend who met an Italian worker on a cruise, they had an affair that lasted years. She got great discounts and went on many, many cruises with him.
Goldie, so good to hear about Haley today. Please send me the address, too.
Lynn you made me LOL when you said you had a hard on!
There is an elementary school near here that has been closed down, several 4th graders have probably swine flu.
Today at work, we got lots and lots of people coming in with flu-like symptoms. Lots of swabs are being done to determine if they are positive for it or not.
Caryn, please congrats YH for me on the job, that is great! One less thing to worry about, huh?
MR. EBJ is trying to talk me into getting another kitty. I have resisted so far.
The vet clinic called this morning and said that Paula's little cedar box with her ashes is there, waiting to be picked up. So, MR. EBJ will go get her tomorrow and bring her home.
Tina congrats on 1st, Eunice is looking pretty spiffy.
Sandie, I'd love to read The Necklace... and happy birthday to Aubree!
BBL
CARYN...congrats to Mr. Caryn! That is such great news. Makes the move a little less scary!
ReplyDelete*******KINDA IDOL SPOILER*******
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE HELL????????????????
*******END OF KINDA SPOILER*******
Mo- yes they are checking into everything. They are trying to get help from the State as well as anywhere else they can at this point.
ReplyDeleteEBJ- Your heart will tell you when you can welcome a new Kitty. Make sure to ask POE! I'll send you the email
Mo- NO KIDDING- WOW
ReplyDelete125!
ReplyDeleteEBJ...hope you are taking proper precautions at work.
ReplyDeletewe just had to cancel a health fair that was going to be held this weekend for the un-insured and under insured. There was going to be free screenings, free glasses, free scripts, etc... The CDC said it wasn't safe to have such a large gathering of people that are already ill or immuno-compromised in one place at this time. Scary. Thankfully we have only had 1 confirmed case and he is almost recovered already. There are 3 more pending, with a 4th confirmed NOT to be the flu.
OK. I watched last night's Idol and I want them all to win. I don't understand Mo's 'kinda spoiler' I guess I'll just have to wait another hour and 1/2 to find out.
ReplyDeleteEBJ, thanks--I'll tell Aubree! And, I'll ask Jodi to send the book to you when she's finished.
ReplyDeleteJodi, could you send the book to EBJ when you're finished? :)
EBJ, I agree with Goldie, you'll know when it's the right time. (((hugs)))
Mo, Idol. What??? Yeah.
Sandie Happy Birthday to Aubree!
ReplyDeleteGoldie That's great news about little Haley! She must have a strong spirit.
just letting you hooters know that the hawaii peep knows the results. I will not be at home tonite, so talk away about A/I as you will not spoil it for me, after the west coast time of course.
ReplyDeletehave a great night everyone.
Bonacci....yes I know. Just we we're ...this close, then the religous finatics came out of the woodwork, and some even flew in from other states and scared the shit right back into the ones that we're loosening up and contemplating a yes vote. It just sickens me that money still rules the roost and that their politicking games decides my rights. ok I have vented enough.
Good Night Hooters. I have been sipping the wine tonight and I am falling asleep as I type. Sweet dreams Owls and happy Thursday. I have to get up early for the hunky electrician.
ReplyDeleteMO,you are too funny!
ReplyDeleteEBJ,now you tell me! I could have had sex AND discounts! Bwah ha ha!!
Thanks everyone for you comments today on my blog. You made this little old lady very happy !
Kgirl, you have every right to vent. Just remember. I am Rep. and on your side. I have argued with many Rep. & Dems. on this issue. There will come a day!
