Maybe

Chosen by Just_Lin

Sung by Ingrid Michaelson

Breaking up is hard to do, even when you know the relationship is not working out for either of you. It means letting go, at least for now, of everything you had hoped it would be and accepting the fact that love is not always enough. Sometimes timing is everything and the time just isn't right for either of you.

That is the conclusion I came to very recently. A couple of hours after I came to the painful decision to let the relationship go, I turned the radio on in the car and this is the song that started playing.

Just_Lin; I see a double Whabby, I mean Whammy for you! A quote and a blog! What do you do when you're 100%?

Happy Sunday everyone! Congrats on that photo-finish for first, Mo & DeeDee!

  7. Congrats on 1st DeeDee!

    Good morning Mo & Bonachichi!

Maureen I thought I was the Tart and you were the Bitch? Hmmmm.

Just Lin I liked the video. I have never heard of her before either but she has a nice voice. Music has a way of calming us and reminding us of certain times in our life. What would we do without music? Hope you're feeling well today. ((HUGS))

  8. Good Morning Hooters!

congrats on 1st DeeDee and Mo.

Have a great sunday everyone. I am going to my nephew's b-day party and I get to see my sister and her kids. Haven't seen them since the 1st of June.

J/L - never heard of Ingrid before, but the song was meant to be.g

  9. Morning Glories!

    Congrats on 1st DeeDee!

    Mo close second!

We are up and about, getting ready to go out and sightsee in a bit.

J/L I hope you are feeling better today. Can't hear the music video but will listen to it when I get back home. Music does always seem to help. I also find it odd that when I am in a mood and turn the radio on some song will come on that seems to fit the occasion.

Morning Shirley you tart! lol Morning Bonachichi!

Goldie have fun with your family!

  10. Morning Everyone!
At least today it really IS morning! I don't know what happened to my sleep pattern, but it is certainly wacky!

I can't hear the song either, but in my case, I think my laptop is about to expire. It has been doing a new odd thing just about everyday.

Shirley, Sorry to read that your Mom has progressed that far. It's a very hard choice, but there are really no "wrong" answers.

  11. LOL@bonacchi!

Good morning, Dee Dee, 'weenie, scrishy, Shirley, and Goldie!

SacBarb: Thank-you so much for the BBQ yesterday! It was so great to have a chance to meet Lynn D and catch up with you, Sharon, and Judy!

Tina: LOL! Thanks for dropping in on our party. It ended on a down note, unfortunately, as OSU lost to the condoms (oops, Trojans) in a nail-biter!

J/L: Sorry to hear about your decision. Hugs!

  12. Good morning, Friends.

    DeeDee Congrats on #1!

    MO Congrats on # 1 1/2!

    Shirley Thank you for QOTD!

    Bear LOL @ condoms!

I'm sorry that so many of you can't hear the video. I had never heard of her before either. However, shortly after I broke up with Custard, I turned on the car radio and this song started playing. Basically, the message is that I don't want to be the one to say goodbye but I will and maybe in the future you'll come back to me but I'll never know unless I let you go. It was just so appropriate at that moment.

I can't believe how much I slept yesterday! I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I'm still sore but not in bad pain like before, thankfully.

Waving a wing at Goldie, Scirish, Bonachichi and SacBarb.

    GOLDIE...have fun at the party.

SACBARB / LYNN...have fun sightseeing. If you find Ahhhnold, be polite! I don't have much to contribute to the bail fund!!

  15. Good morning,

I haven't heard that song before, and never heard of the singer... sorry for your breakup JL.

SacBarb is a gracious hostess, and opened her lovely home to our small group. She had enough food for an army!

Sharon is such a sweetie, and I was so happy to see her again.

Bear is a dear and so interesting, I was glad he made the drive even though he didn't get to stay long.

Lynn is a doll! So excited to have gotten to meet her. Very knowledgeable lady and down to earth.

Thank you Barb for hosting the bbq!

My drive home was much nicer than the drive to Sacramento. It rained much of the way up. Coming home the sky was blue, it was hard to believe we had thunder, lightening and rain storm just hours before.

Life has been busy here lately and I am behind on the blogs, I hope to catch up somewhat today.

    Happy Sunday to all!

  20. Happy Sunday all!

Justlin, the vid was sweet. I bet we hear more from this young lady. Breaking up is hard to do. It is especially sad when the parties don't let each other know why. Life is short and friendships precious, at least to some of us. My best wishes to you. I hope all of your owies go away:)

SacBarb, I think you should share your leftovers here. I am hungry. Shirley's "buffet" yesterday, didn't quite do it for me lol!
I forgot to tell you to give Sharon a big "hi" for me!

EBJ,LyynD & Whabby glad you made the BBQ. I hope there are pictures coming!

Goldie, I love parties! Have a great time! Save me some cake!

  22. Sorry to keep you all waiting....I know you have been on pins and needles wanting to hear about my prison visit.....

I have been going for almost 5 years so its old hat......I know a lot of the people that visit and work there by their first names.
The prison system has been very accommodating whenever there have been special needs....medically or emotionally for my friend.

The times I have had to call for something like a death in his family....(because I don't want some asshole guard blurting the news to him) they have had the chaplain call him in to his office and allowed him to call me....

Before I ever visited a prison I thought they were all the dregs of society and I didn't care if they just lined them up and shot them all......but once you are there and you see these guys...all starched in their white inmate attire....freshly shaven...hair just perfect....for their families....who come to see them...you realize that they are human too and that we all make mistakes.....and on those visiting days they are happy and it shows...

I am not talking about rapists and child molesters....they are not among us in the contact visiting room.....a contact visit is when you are not separated by anything...so you are able to hug...slop sugar...you know ...touch....and I am about the touching est person I have ever seen.....I think its so important...especially for some of these men.....

Those inmates who have reached the status of contact visits are even allowed to go outside...weather permitting...and sit at picnic tables with awnings over them...with their visitors...

You can take $20 in quarters in to the visit for cokes and vending machine snacks.....The inmates can spend a limit of $150.00 a month in the prison commissary....for food... work boots...tennies...fans (no a/c) and hot-pots, radios, etc. They all wear out very quickly and they can only buy things from there....I can send books and magazines....but they have to be sent from where they are purchased....Barnes & Noble, etc.....I make sure he has as much as is allowed to spend in his trust fund.....and thats a big deal...he says.....because there are people there who get nothing...

So theres your lesson in Texas prison visiting.....I hope none of you ever have the opportunity to make one....

So its not scary to visit....but some of the people who come to visit are scary...lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dee Dee: Have you been following the efforts of the California legislature (and the governor) to reduce our prison expenditures by about a billion a year by, among other things, releasing non-violent offenders early and changing the rules on parole violations?

I completely agree with these reforms. Our prison population is so bloated these days with non-violent offenders, and I have to pay to feed, clothe, and house them!

  24. J/L~ pretty song....she has a very sweet voice...it reminds me of that saying:

    If you love someone,
    Let them go.
    If they come back,
    They're yours.
    If not,
It was never meant to be~

DeeDee~ Congrats on first~ That was very gracious of you to want to share it with Mo....but don't! Take it and run!~ :D Also, it's very sweet of you to visit D every month....he's extremely lucky to have you~

    Mo~ congrats on second!! :)~

    Bear~ thanks for playing along~ btw...i'm glad the trojans won....kind know the QB~ :D

Good Morning to Bonachichi, Shirley, Goldie, SacBarb, Scirish, EBJ, Mary, and Bebbi~

  25. DeeDee..I had an occasion to visit a friend in prision many years ago and the experiance was much as yours was. The day of the visit was very beautiful weather so we were allowed to visit in the courtyard. I felt very awkward at first and had to remind myself not to stare. After a while, conversation just flowed naturally and I kind of forgot about my surroundings. The search of my car on the way out reminded me in a hurry though. The thing I remember the most was the joy I felt at being able to leave. I don't think I have every appreciated the ride home more!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well there's something you don't read every day. Prison life. Thanks for the lesson, DeeDee!

Just_Lin; I knew from old blogs that you'd met an old flame called Custard. I didn't know you'd called it off. So sorry to hear that! You think when we reach some all-important time in our lives we're done with that breakup crap. I guess not.

Hope everyone is having a terriffic (terrific? teriffic? no, that's not right. How do you spell it?) Sunday! I stink. I just gave Auntie a perm.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Whabbear....yes I do keep up with California and I also agree.....I wish the same was true for Texas..

Scrish...you reminded me of how leaving feels.....visiting can be stressful....and I do have slightly more spring in my step leaving than I did coming in.....

and I in no way meant to say I look forward to it....I dread it....from one visit to the next

    ReplyDelete
  28. DeeDee, I know what you mean about not looking forward to the visits, I never did either, but none of the people in my friends life ever visited him and he wasn't in prision for any heinious deed either. Just several stupid (drug fueled) decisions in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  29. JustLin...I'm sorry, I didn't realize you and Custard broke up. Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Tina Yes, that's exactly what it reminded me of, too.

Thank you all for the well wishes and hugs. : )

  34. Hi all--Ive been watching football and napping today. We had a great time at the wedding last night but my knees are feeling it today.

Just fyi, the Broncos won today at the last second. It was quite a surprise--I mean we knew we would win--ha. JODI, I am cheering your old team GB tonight since our x QB Cutler is playing them. We r mad at Cutler here in Denver

SACBARB: so glad you all had such a nice time and that you and Lynn are having some sightseeing time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Part 2--J/L: I haven't heard of this artist either but the words are sad. I'm sorry you and Custard aren't able to work thing out. Also, I hope you are feeling better today.

DEEDEE: it would be an interesting blog about the prison, etc. I'm glad they didn't keep you

ZONA: hope your tummy is feeling better

Owls, I'm on my Blackberry so give me some slack for my grammer and spelling. I just didn't feel like getting up and going to the computer hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday

  36. Ha! Dianne and Just Lin what happened to you two? I was sure you would try and take the 69 from me.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Bear We did then we got back together. It's like a vicious cycle and we always end up in the same dead end.

    Shirley Congrats on 69!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hey kids Sacbarb twisted both of my arms and my cankles and made me sign up for facebook.

So if you get a request from Lynn Jennings that is me.

  39. Shirley I was very slowly eating a piece of key lime pie while you were marching.

  40. Tomorrow I have to get up early and see if I can get mum an appointment with her doctor. They are usually pretty good about fitting her in. She doesn't have much wait time. I also have to call the drug store and get a couple of her meds refilled. Then I have to find someone to take us. The one taxi company we have here only has two vans and mum can't get in them. So I think I'll say good night, check on my fish on FB and go to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Good night, Shirley. I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yay! Linn is going to Face book! You will love farming lol!

Our Det. Lions lost today, but they were playing New Orleans. They fought like hell and made a good game of it.

I didn't accomplish much today except cleaning out my frig. Have you ever started to just wipe a little here, or clean a little there, next thing you know you are ass deep in shit lol!! Well that's what happened to me. I spilled something in the frig, one wipe and I was off to the races! I think I will take the rest of the week off! OOPS I can't. I just noticed my calender. Every day is full but Friday!

Tomorrow is "iteaches" Birthday. I have missed her old name. Just had to see it in writing again.lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. LYNN...thanks for clarifying! I saw the request and wondered who it was! I can't accept until my next trip to the library, but I will!!!

Did you two get into any trouble today?

    ReplyDelete
  44. SHIRLEY...I know this is probably a rhetorical question, but...cant one of your siblings take your mum to the doctor tomorrow? I hope everything works out ok.

    MARY...wanna clean my frige, too?

JUST LIN...yes, Lani needs to check in!

  45. Mo, We tried our best to get arrested at the Capitol building but it didn't work. We had questions and we asked a REALLY cute State Police Officer who was very helpful. Lynn was undressing him with her eyes. Then we walked around and had to go back to ask him another question.

Thankfully, no bail $$ was needed.

  48. J/L.. I have heard Ingrid's music and love it, however I have never heard this song before. It is certainly so true. So glad you shared with us. And it is so strange when something happens and you then hear a song that relates to it. It kinda puts everything in perspective.

Continue to smile that great smile of yours especially with your new teeth..

  49. Sacbarb..

  56. Happy Birthday Jennifer~~hope you have a wonderful day. You share the day with my grandson Aaron. Aaron is #5 Grandson and he is unique in his own way. Aaron turned 10 years old today. He said, finally he has a double digit number for his birthday. Aaron has a mild form of Autism, it is called Aspergers Syndrome. He has to work a little harder to mingle with others but he is extemely intelligent, so others come to him for help in school work. On the social level he is behind, on the physical level he is behind (motor skills lack ability) but ask him anything about Harry Porter or any Goosebump book and he can tell you line for line what it is about. Aaron is my special grandson because of his artistic ability. Very talented in drawing and has won many awards in grade school for his art work. He may not beable to ride a bike but he can design a picture with such detail. Can you tell I am proud? So double digit Aaron is a happy camper today. Finally he is 10!!
