~ Motherhood ~

by Tina~in_ut

I took this video in the spring.....forgot all about it. These ducks were here last year, but in our front yard. This time, they were looking in our backyard for a safe place to lay her eggs. They were very smart. They didn't choose my yard! They chose someone else's. Hubby's dog would have had a field day with them!

I walk by a canal on my evening walk and the other night I saw the mom with her ducklings. They were absolutely precious. I wish I had my camera with me. I tried to get close to them, but mom was very protective and scooted them away from me, as any good mom would do. She made me think: We are both moms. I wonder if she too has those days when she thinks her kids are little shits! Ahhhhh....motherhood!~

  6. Good morning, Birdee and 'weenie!

'weenie, I've been wondering the same thing! The nest has been very quiet this week.

  9. Its called Facebook! Farmtown! Mafia Wars! Some shit about eggs and hearts.......

I got caught up in Farmville and Farmtown......and it will suck you in like a swimming pool drain!

Tina has a glazed robotic look...."must go to farmtown..must go to farmtown"....

Its a cult and they are going to have to be deprogrammed.....

My main experience has been seeing the difference in Tina....she says shes gonna stop and the next thing I know she is begging.. just so strung out...."let me harvest your tomatoes....your grapes then"....and then the tears start.

I am trying the "tough love" approach....last night I said "its over!! No more gifts of trees for my farm and I am not accepting any hearts!!! Then she turns right around and sends me a friggin rose bush for my farm and thanks me for sending her Zinnias!!! When I certainly didn't send them!

This is a serious problem....and mark my words....shit is going to hit the fan.....

HIDE YOUR VEGETABLES AND YOUR SEED!!!

  10. Birdee~ congrats on first...made me laugh about the daddy~

DeeDee!~ Ur on crack! I went over to Facebook...and what do I see?! An airplane FROM YOU....and 100 coins FROM YOU for Farmville! Humpht!~

Good Morning Mo, Bear, and Mek~

I'm off to get the gray outta my hair~

  11. Morning Glories!

Congrats on first Birdee! I see some of your relatives are out for a stroll this morning.

Tina funny how Moms around the world love there children. Well except for the few who actually eat them.

    Morning Mo, Whabby and DeeDee!

I keep reading the comments about farming and it took me awhile to catch on that it was some kind of cyber space cult on Facebook!

Here is your mantra kids for a little deprogramming.

"I WILL NOT SPREAD MY SEED".

    "JOHNNY APPLESEED HAD OCD".

Come on now say it over and over. One, two, three.............

I have been busy dogooding lately so have not been home. I am really turning into a fucking PollyAnna!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Crap Missed MEK and Tina! Goood Moooorning! Waving a wild wing!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well I scared you all away again! Oh wait it must be harvest time.

    ReplyDelete
  14. lmao at Lynn D...."harvest time"!!!

    Tina!! Facebook airplane!!!

I didn't say I am completely deprogrammed from Farmville!! Its a process.....at least I am trying!

I plant things that take 4 days to need harvesting....but when I go over there to have a look-see... everyone wants me to schlep for them.....ga!

And in Farmtown you have to go to the marketplace to sell your crops! Well! I went over there once and the place was full of tobacco spitting women dressed like lumberjacks.....and I could feel all of them undressing me with their eyes.....it was just awful....at least with my gay male friends when they undress me with their eyes its just to dress me up again in another outfit......

I mean no offense to "butch" women...but for heavens sake...keep it in your pants....or the container it came in at least!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Birdee Congrats on first! There's a saying, "I'd rather be lucky than good". ;)

DeeDee LMAO! We all thought Tina was a crackwhore and she's really a farm whore. Guess she'll do anything to get a little more seed. LOL

LynnD Hey! I'm related to Johnny Appleseed! I think he spread a lot of seed and not just in the agricultural kind of way.

MEK Congrats on FORETEEN. Tiger is not too happy with himself lately.

MO I think DeeDee's right. The Owls have been sucked in by the FB cult.

Bear Do you have sun today? It's overcast and cool here, right now. Maybe it will burn off later.

Tina Very cute vid of the ducks. It was funny when the male pecked at the female's tail feathers to get her to hurry up.

I hope the farmers aren't tracking mud into our nest. It's a good gimmick to keep people on FB, though.

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOL! Hiding my seed...

But, yeah, I think FB is occupying a lot of time for a lot of us.

J/L: The sun just started to peek through in Diamond Heights! We're going to be up here for the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  17. DeeDee ROFLMAO @ container it came in!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Speaking of dressing, I guess I should go do that. I am such a slacker today.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ok kids here I go dogooding again, but I am very concerned about all of you!

Enjoy this article! It might make for a great retreat for the owls. :)

Clinic for internet addicts opens in USreSTART offers counseling and psychotherapy – and up to 45 days 'cold turkey' away from the web

    Ed Pilkington guardian.co.uk, Friday 4 September 2009

Article history If you have to take a quick break from reading this article to check your Blackberry, send a text or reboot your Xbox 360 before you reach the end of this paragraph, then the good news is that help is at hand.

reSTART has been opened outside Seattle, the rain-soaked north-western town where high-tech companies are as common as cattle are in Texas. It claims to be America's first residential detox centre for internet addicts.

For a little over $14,000, up to six people at a time can spend 45 days sweating out their insatiable urge to be umbilically connected to cyberspace. Think cold turkey as experienced by heroin junkies, and you get the general idea.

Residents are given counselling and psychotherapy, as well as encouraged to bond as a group in activities such as household chores, walks in the grounds and exercising.

The centre, in five acres about 30 miles out of Seattle, is the brainchild of Hilarie Cash, a therapist who had until this summer been treating patients with presumed internet addiction but only on a day-by-day basis.

She recorded her first case in 1994, with a patient so glued to video games that he forfeited his marriage and two jobs.

Cash points out that though countries such as China, South Korea and Taiwan have places that cyber addicts can seek help, America has been slow to recognise the condition.

ReSTART offers anyone who suspects they are suffering from internet addiction the opportunity to test the hypothesis with a behavioural survey which, helpfully, can be completed via the internet. Question 12, for example, asks: "Are you experiencing chronic exhaustion due to lack of sleep, weight gain from lack of exercise, poor general health from poor nutrition, or other physical health problem due to excessive internet use or video gaming?"
    __________________________________

Oh and did anyone notice the irony of filling out the survey via the internet???

I could host this retreat as I live just 2 hours or so away!

  20. J/L I am glad to know Johnny did take some time off from his obsession to release some stress and bear some fruit and thus you were born! Hehehehe

  22. DEE DEE...thanks for clarifying about Facebook holding the owls hostage! I'm now glad I can't play on my Facebook!!

LYNN...Ummm, I answered yes to those questions! Just my laziness, not an internet addiction!

Did you know there is a real growing problem of teens having arthritis in their hands, torn and strained ligaments in their thumbs and other asst. problems due to texting.

    MEK...howdy back attcha!

SHIRELY...thanks for the stats, but more importantly, nice to see you.

JUST LIN...I'm 3 hours ahead of you and I'm still not dressed! I am perfecting the art of slacking today! I will be dressed in a few, as I have to go to the library and return my books and get some new ones.

    BBL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Shirley Thanks for the stats update! I've been thinking of you. How's your mum?

MO I went out to eat and ran some errands. Are you dressed yet?

  24. Hi Everyone...Haven't been posting but read every day. I have been a little under the weather with all my dentist issues and a loss of a friend. Guess I just haven't felt like talking much anywhere.

BUT, I think I am back to my old self (although still having some issues from root canal).

DEEDEE: You have not only been right on the mark about TINA but let me add just a bit more to that observation. She has my password so is on my FB all the time Farming, Egging, etc. I have people thanking me for things I don't even know what they are talking about. I have friends and family mad at me that I "don't talk back to them on IM" when I am on "my farm". So, she is double nuts!! I have it on good authority that she is also on MARY'S farm "being MARY" frequently. There you have it....

I noticed a post the other day but not a response on where the TRAVELING NECKLACE is now. Last I knew ITEACH/JENNIFER had it and was mailing it on to someone. The summer is about over and I think it was originally trying to get to everyone that wanted it by the end of summer, right? Just wondering.....

SHIRLEY: Thanks for all the stats. You can tell by looking at them who are the morning people and who are the ones that sleep in....I never get a first but I could get a last frequently if there was a category.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Good evening/afternoon and congrats on 1st my fuzzy little chia pet Birdee!!

Good afternoon for the west coast.
Good evening for the east coast.
Good early Sunday morning to VIG.
    Good morning to K-girl.
I think that should cover everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  26. K-GIRL: That was such a great thing you did for that person when you were out the other night. How quick of you to realize what needed to be done. I am very sorry about the outcome but it is also very nice that his wife has contacted you.

MrD and I are the babysitters of the girls tonight as mom and dad are having a date night. We will keep the girls for the night and then going to Greeley (about an hour or so away) for a bbq tomorrow with some friends and family. I would like to go and see the new Sandra Bullock movie over the weekend as I seem to now be having a little cabin fever after the last couple of weeks. Our weather has been so beautiful and it's about 85 today. We missed the hot days this summer...not one day went up to 100, which is pretty unusual for us.

Hope you all have a good weekend and nice chatting....:)

  27. Hi SHIRELY; Boy, I see your name-sake was very busy in BEAR'S blog on Wednesday!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sorry SHIRLEY....I really do know how to spell your name.

  29. Just Lin thanks for asking about mum. She has had a very stressful week. She's worried about my niece and nephew who just went out to BC. She is worried about their mother, cause now she is alone. The phone and cable wires got knocked down by the propane truck. My sister needed money for new tires for her car. All that plus her illness has made for a tough week. And although I have three siblings I have been feeling very much like an only child this week. This is probably more info than you wanted. Sorry for rambling.

  30. OMG!! What if the magic necklace has been lost or stolen!!??
I thought I saw one just like it in a catalog but it was actually a puzzle.....

Somebody has lots of splainin' to do.......

    ReplyDelete
  31. SHIRLEY: Sorry you and uyr mom have had a stressful week. I know how hard it is for you and then all that worry goes on to u as well. Do u want a hug and smooch from Colorado? Well, here it is--hug and smooch-- feel better

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dianne Sending (((Hugs))) I am glad to see you getting back to your old self. Dental problems are such a drag. Losing a friend is like having a hole in your heart.

Shirley (((Hugs))) for all you do! I know it is hard but you are there for your Mom!

Thank you for the Stats. I have to say Tina is either very competitive or she has paid you a lot of money. Wait is she tending your farm too???

  33. Ok I thought I would share my new favorite quote. I just read it today and I love it.

"Life in Lubbock, Texas, taught me two things: One is that God loves you and you're going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the most awful, filthy thing on earth and you should save it for someone you love." - Butch Hancock, Musician, the Flatlanders

  34. My favorite title for a blog today!

Michelle Bachman's Burning Bush. There's a Pill for that!

    http://margaretandhelen.wordpress.com/

Full disclosure Helen is a feisty 83 year old who does not hold back. She is a progressive Texan with alot of common sense. So if blunt speaking offends you do not read.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Di~ YOU ASKED ME TO HELP YOU!!!! ya whore!!!!! Maybe that's why ur tooth still hurts...cuz ur a WHORE!!!!!!!~

    Hi LynnD~ Sex IS filthy!~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  36. I know I am blog hogging again but you have all disappeared on me so I must entertain myself.

    ReplyDelete
  37. LynnD~ how do you know if it's done right?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tina Hellooooooo you have to use the extra strong back scrubber and soap and shower massage to get all the filth off!!! Duh

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh crap I am dogooding again.

Tina I found out there is a current law that states if you have health insurance by your employer and said employer changes companies you are by law required to be covered for pre-existing conditions.

If you lose your job and health insurance coverage and then get a new job and apply for coverage or buy your own coverage you can then be turned down as having a pre-existing condition.

Just FYI (hope that puts your mind to rest)

    Now back to scrubbing filth

    ReplyDelete
  40. Mo are you sure those injuries are from texting? Or is that the reason they give their parents and Doc for other ummmmm activities?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hear there is a potato blight coming to many farms.

I'm starting to catch up on some commenting. I only had a short while before they closed, but I can go back on Tuesday and catch up some more!!

TINA...I denied the pic you sent...I have young cousins on my page!!! They think I am nice, not a crackho!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. How much did TINA pay you to be 1st or 69? I need to know the current rate of bribery

    ReplyDelete

    Tina...

The vid was absolutely so very cute, loved watching them just hunt around looking for a place to dump a egg, and I so agree, good thing they picked another yard, or your doggie would have had

  63. Dee..

So that is where everyone is. farming?

I ask you, what is the big attraction with farming, I mean who the heck wants bees in their hair, or poop on their shoes, or unclean milk in their hands, or a hoe in their foot, or a rake up their ass, or seeds in their eyes, or grass stuck to their toes, or grapes up their nose, or a corn stalk in their mouth..

I tell ya, I just don't get the attraction..

    :O)

  64. Hi Mo

    Yes!! Yes!! and Yes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh and I forgot, its blue, actually dark blue.. and the guy set it up to work in my car, so I have handsfree link all set up.. When a phone call comes thru, the radio stops, and the phone rings, with a push of a button on my steering wheel, I am chatting away.. Fun!! with a Double Fun!!!

  71. Lynnd..

That is why my broker told me I can change health carries at anytime and not worry about preexisting conditions, as they have to accept all my employees in my company..

I thought I knew that, but then forgot, thanks so much for the refresher..

  72. Tina..

  90. Hi Everyone! Another migraine..ugh..feeling much better now though.

TINA: I don't see a lot of wildlife where I live..it must be very cool to be able to see these ducks in your very own backyard. I'd love to see a squirrel..or a rabbit..anything. We just get pigeons, peckers and roaches..b-o-r-i-n-g.

Thanks for the peek at life on the wildside....ducky.. ;)

  91. BIRDEE: Congrats on FIRST! No chance we'd ever get sick of seein' you on top..no way!! :)

DEEDEE: I was so sick yesterday, and yet I wanted to stumble out of bed and harvest my crops on FB...Mr Z actually did it for me so I would stay in bed and rest. He asked me when I woke up Sat afternoon if he needed to go back in and fertilize or pull weeds..lol..

DIANNE: Mr Z said TINA helped him on my farm..only he said she was you. He didn't know how to plow..but you guys taught him.. ;)

TINA: I thought the house I had was good enough..no..he wants a bigger one..sheesh..

MO: Very cool about getting onto FB! Are you going to farm now too?? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  94. LYNND: You know..if someone handed me a rake and a pair of gloves and wanted to me to farm for real..I'd run away! I was telling my sister if I walked in real life as much as I do on FarmTown I would be in great shape!! ;)

TINA: I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter's best friend's dad..how very sad. It just reminds every one of us that it could happen to anyone anytime, so let those you love know you love them...and try to always be kind.

  96. Hi everyone,
Whabby sent me an invite to join the night.owls.sb and just wanted to say I am more of a morning owl than a night owl. Usually I am in bed by 9PM. I live in New York State and this video of the Mallard ducks just made me laugh this morning. This spring I had guests in my back yard too. Mama duck and Papa duck in my POOL. My next door neighbor looked like crazy woman shooing the ducks out of her pool. Jane was flagging her arms shooing them out of her pool, they would fly over the fence and go into my pool. My other neighbor is a avid Duck hunter but Chris was not at home at the time. lol

But Jane figured out why it all happened in the first place, she blamed it on her husband. He feeds the birds.
