We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. Italiano Dessert
This is a Italian dessert its a favorite of my entire family, and whenever we go out to eat someone will always order it. Now, I don't love it, it is certainly not my favorite, but that does not mean I don't eat it. You can buy it an Italian food store and most all Italian Restaurant's offer it on their menu as a dessert choice.
Si può indovinare che cosa è questo dessert? (This is a question, Its in Italian, google it to see what I am asking).
From out of the middle of the desert, Vig appears and grabs first!
ReplyDeleteGood morning to you my Owl friends!
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteVig way to go! You beat Tina even being on the other side of the world! LOL That should scorch her butt.
Carol I can't tell what is in that dessert but it looks very rich and delicious. Does not really look like breakfast food tho.
Just woke up been up and down all night will be back in a bit. If I am gone to long I have probably fallen asleep on my key boarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Non lo ho veduto mai prima.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Vig & LynnD! Tina's busy eating Carol's dessert.
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteCAROL: I'm going to guess that it's Tiramisu. I've never had it, don't really know what it should look like..but if that's it...yummy! :D
VIG: Well whattya know! Hi Auntie Nort! CONGRATS on FIRSTUS! :D
LYNND: LOL! Sweet dreams of all your farms.. ;)
Vig..
ReplyDeleteHA! number 1, and from the desert!
Congrats.. good to see ya! :O)
I have been reading your updates on your life in Kuwait, and I gotta tell ya all sounds really good, except two things.. the heat and the food.. so if I can get past that I will come visit ya! LOL
Waving.. at.. Vig, Lynn, Bonacci, Zona...
ReplyDeleteLynn...
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly rich, and no surly not a breakfast food, however I am sure one of my nephews at some point chowed down on this for breakfast especially if they pulled a all nighter..
VIG got 1st!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah- well done friend!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Hooters.
Carol- don't know what it is but it sure looks like something I would eat (even for breakfast Lynn):)
Have a good day!!
Should we be worried that tina~ isn't one here yet? Sound out the hounds or something looking for her/????
ReplyDeleteZona!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat guess!!!!!!
But no, not Tiramisu....
that should say 'isn't on here'
ReplyDeletenot enough coffee yet
Bonacci...
ReplyDeletePerhaps you have not seen it, but it is certainly popular here in NJ/NY..
I do think Tina would like it..
:O)
Goldie..
ReplyDeleteWaving at ya! Have a good day
Lynn..
ReplyDeleteSorry you had a restless nite.. which can certainly ruin your day, so I am sending ya smiles..
:O)
Off to work..
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ladies....
ReplyDeleteCould be gelato in a chocolate shell....Tartufo....that it!
Well, since none of will probably know what it is, seeing as Carol eats weird stuff, we can still guess what's in it, yes?
ReplyDeleteLet's see. Chocolate sauce?
I going to go spy on Vig.
Thanks, DeeDee! I could delete my previous comment, but then Tina wouldn't have anyone to razzle when she comes out of her stupor.
ReplyDeleteVIG - I open the page and there you are. I can't believe it. And to think you were first too. What time was it there when you posted?
ReplyDeleteGood Morning - VIG, Lynn, Zona-My-Baby, bonachichi, Carol, Goldie and Dee Dee. Wishing you all a great day. I am out the door for another doctor's appointment. I will try and get back later.
ReplyDeleteCarol - That dessert looks wonderful. I will let someone else google the answer.
Zona - Call me this afternoon if you are available.
Good Morning to all owls who haven't landed yet.
VIG You came out of the desert like a mirage and claimed first! It's so good to see you here!
ReplyDeleteTinka I'm glad to see your little brown owl today, too. Congrats on 25! I hope your doctor appointment goes well.
Carol I have no idea what that is but it looks like chocolate sauce on it so I would probably like it.
Good morning also to LynnD, Bonach, Zona, Goldie and DeeDee.
It's tripe with chocolate sauce and whip cream.
ReplyDeleteOk going to lay down for a bit.
Oh yummy, Carol~ DeeDee is right....oh how I love gelato...my favorite is Stracciatella....it's like chocolate chip ice cream....but WAY outta this world better~ yummy~
ReplyDeleteWe are so busy today....the two companies merged Frequent Flyer accounts today and in preparation for all hell breaking loose, we were served lunch......i don't know what is on this salad...but it is so yummy~ bbwl~
In the old West, she used to be known as "Dessert Dee Dee"!
ReplyDeleteAnd the strange thing? Back then she didn't know nothin' 'bout sugar-based foods...
There you are, Tina! You need a sign, "Will work for food". A salad is all you require to run the coming 3-ring circus? CHEAP!
ReplyDeleteBear, did you sleep in?
Carol's strangely silent about her dessert. Do you think she's having a sugar O.D.?
Whabb, was DeeDee THE desert? :)
ReplyDeleteI "googled","Binged"& "wikied". they only slightly translated the sentence. Not much on the desert, so I am guessing my fave. it looks like either a choc. cheesecake with a rich cream topping, or a creme desert with something naughty on it ;-)
VIG,VIG,VIG!! So happy to see you here!
Tina.. Yes, Dee is right, its
ReplyDeleteTartufo, Kudos to Dee for knowing the dessert!
"Tartufo (tahr-too-foh) is an Italian ice-cream dessert. It is usually composed of two or more flavors of ice cream with either fruit syrup or frozen fruit - typically raspberry, strawberry or cherry - in the center. It is typically covered in a shell made of chocolate."
Restaurants usually cut it in fours and serve it with whip cream, just as the picture shows..
Thanks to everyone for playing along..
:O)
Mary..
ReplyDeleteThe sentence translated in English..
"Can you guess what this dessert is"
Or something close to that, I can't remember exactly..
Tina...
ReplyDeleteGlad your busy, but more glad you are getting free lunch.. love free lunch..
:O)
Bonacci..
ReplyDeleteNo, no sugar oding for me.. just working..
Tina..
ReplyDeleteMy mother makes Stracciatella all the time, but I know it as a Italian Egg Drop Soup. I did not know there was a gelato with the same name.. sounds yummy tho..
Waving @ all above me.. and anyone below me..
ReplyDelete:O)
back to work..
Whabbear....lol
ReplyDeletemy saloon girl days.....good times...
"Hello, handsome, is that a ten-gallon hat or are you just enjoying the show?"
So does DeeDee get a prize for being right?
ReplyDeleteDeeDee, you are a first-class world traveler... What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?

ALL STATS ARE FINAL
Shirley, are those the final stats?
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday Owls.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I have never had tartufo but it looks good. I also have never seen it in Italian restaurants here. Is it an East Coast thing?
I am taking my computer in to be fixed tomorrow, so I may be MIA for a while. I don't know how long it will take.
Waving to all the Owls. I hope you all had a good day.
Shirley Wow! Amazing how you're the leader in every single category!
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Does this mean you'll have sound on your computer when you get it back?

ReplyDeleteShirley, Sweetie, Honey Pie....one of us just got 50 and I don't think it was you. ;)
ReplyDeleteBonachichi.....
ReplyDeleteI am always willing to try a regions delicacies....especially after half a bottle of wine....or during cocktails....and there are sooo many things I have seen prepared and have eaten....but the strangest thing I would have to say....was in Phnom Penh.....the people there seemed to prefer the legs crunchy and the bodies juicey......and they de-fanged all the tarantulas that would be sold for ten cents each....I had two...
DeeDee~ would you like me to make you some crab legs? Or some sushi? I know how much you love ur seafood~ :D p.s.~ I'm STILL at work!
ReplyDeleteShirley~ when I get home, I'll check to see if your numbers for me are accurate~ Mkay? I'm not worried about your numbers....i know you'd NEVER fudge those~
ReplyDeleteSacBarb~ Have fun in Miami~
ReplyDeleteVIG! VIG! VIG! So awesome to see your post! Hope you are enjoying your adventure.
ReplyDeleteCAROL...my mouth is watering! I have never had this, but I am willing to try it! Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, but this could work, too!
I have been working late everyday and I am exhausted. Maybe I will stop in later.
Hi hooters!
ReplyDeleteA quick shout out, had a very long and exhausting day at work!
VIG soooo good to see you! Love all your Face Book updates.
Shirley I can't imagine that you would cheaqt...

ReplyDeleteThe dessert looks relish, Carol!!
ReplyDeleteVIG, what type of dessert do you eat in the desert???
ReplyDeleteSorry Tina....nothing out of oceans ...rivers....or lakes......I will eat a baby bird before I would put fish or a crab in my mouth....omg....SH*T thats nasty.....bleech!!
ReplyDeleteBut thank you for offering up your culinary expertise....
If God had meant for me to eat fish there would be an Hermes bag and shoes for it.....and there is not.....
Bon: Actually, we were up at 4 AM this morning to drive down to Palm Springs and beat the traffic.
ReplyDeleteThe plan worked perfectly, and Palm Springs is its usual fabulous self!
DeeDee It's hard to fathom that you prefer spiders over fish!
ReplyDeleteNow I want dessert. I'll have to be happy with a small banana split.
ReplyDeleteJ/L.....hi....
ReplyDeleteI would gladly eat a spider instead of a stinking fish with mercury poisoning......and their slimy scales and fish eyes.....
I know fish is very popular....but it has always made me wretch.....
omg....there is nothing better than grabbing a king crab leg in one hand and my little fork in the other and pulling out a big, juicy piece of crab meat and drenching it in butter...O..M..G!!!!!! Scrumptious~
ReplyDeleteNot that fond of crab, myself. I love lobster tail drenched in butter, though, and I love shrimp and prawns. I don't want fish scales and eyes on my plate, either, but I really enjoy filet of sole.
ReplyDeleteDee Dee: That's why you're not a lesbian.
ReplyDeleteJ/L: How can you like lobster and not king crab? OMG!
Kind of tipsy right now.
ReplyDeleteBear I don't like the texture of crab. I think it's kind of slick or something.
ReplyDeleteAlso crab is a little bit on the sweet side and I don't care for that too much, either. It just isn't my favorite thing. I would never order it at restaurant.
ReplyDelete
