#10 Forgetting why I came into a room and having to return to the place of the original thought before I remember what the hell I was doing.
#9 Walk through the doorway from the kitchen to the hall, miscalculate for some unknown reason, and slam my shoulder into the door jamb. WTC?
#8 Poking myself in the eye with the mascara wand. I'm 62 years old. Why can I not apply mascara every single time without incident?
#7 Forgetting to get something on my grocery list even though I looked at the list before leaving the store! Sometimes I've even checked it twice!
#6 Having a really good coupon to use at the store, then buying the item without using the coupon!
#5 Baking something in the oven and realizing I forgot to set the timer and have no idea how much time has passed.
#4 Setting the dryer to "Dewrinkle" because I forgot the clothes in the dryer. Then doing it again several hours later because I forgot them again.! This can literally go on all day!
#3 Hitting the dust pan against the rim of the trash can, spilling everything on the kitchen floor that I just swept up!
#2 Turning on the kitchen faucet and having the water go up the sleeve of my bathrobe.
AND THE #1 THING I DO THAT ANNOYS ME IS.....
When I get up in the morning and take my morning pills and see that I forgot to take my bedtime pills the night before!
OMG That picture almost gave me a heart attack! Not good for someone with a cat phobia.
ReplyDeleteYou list was funny Just Lin. I'm sure it isn't funny to you when it happens, but I did chuckle a little. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Shirley! PS Keep your rack away from me! :)
J/L Why does your top ten list look exactly like mine?
I would like to add get in my car to drive somewhere I have been a thousand times and sail right past the turn to get there. Realize it when you are about a block past the destination.
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteJ/LIN: My list would be almost the same as yours..except I hit my wrist on the door handle in addition to hitting my shoulder on the door jamb..I even tell myself to be careful not to do it..and BAM!..everytime. Sometimes I wonder what is happening to me that I keep forgetting things etc..it's comforting to know it happens to other people too! ;)
Loved your list J/LIN..I can really relate to each and every thing on it! :D
SHIRLEY: I have such a great line I could write about the picture..but I'm too shy to write it.... ;)
ReplyDeleteG'morning LYNN!
great pussy, J/L~ :D
ReplyDeleteJ/LIN: The other night I was cooking dinner and couldn't figure out why the onions were taking so long to brown..I had the temp up to Med High before I realized that I had forgotten to take the burner cover off! ;)
ReplyDeleteTINA: LOL! Need...my...inhaler..
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Shirley (congrats on #1!), Zona & LynnD!
ReplyDeleteJ/Lin; By 62, I think you've earned the right to have some moments. Be proud of who you are, embrace the obstacles and never apologize for being you.
Tina, you came in whilst I was typing. Morning to you, too!
ReplyDeleteMorning!!!
ReplyDeleteTina..
ReplyDeleteLOL.. scary tho..
Zona...
ReplyDeleteAnd so Tina wrote it for you, cause we know there is nothing shy about Tina!

#4 Ok, so I don't do laundry!
#3 Ok, so I don't clean!
#2 Now that I can do, and do all the time

Good morning, everybody! Congrats on #1, Shirley!
SHIRLEY...gratz on 1st! Did you cheaqt? LOL!
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...great list! Like Shirley, I chuckled! I can relate to almost all of it.
I hate it when I leave my garage and close the door, then drive a few blocks and wonder if I closed the door. So, I go all the way back home and sure enough the door is closed!
Thanks for a great bloggy today.
WAVING to LYNN D., GOLDIE, WHABBY, CHI CHI, CAROL, ZONAAAA and TINA

ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY...notate that, pleeeeze!
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteCongrats today on 1st Shirley!
Great list JL! I can relate to most of them too, esp. #7.
I do ok if I remember to bring the list, but many times the list stays home on the note pad and I will always forget something.
I started making a way to remember in my head (if it is a short list). I will take the first letter of each of the items I need and try to make a word or phrase that is easy to remember.
It really works for me!
Zona were you going to say something about the grey pussy?
Hope everyone has a nice day today!
Good Morning Everyone.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being first Shirley.
Congrats on being 25th Maureen.
That cat looks just like my Mom's cat Misty Blue and she was one mean pussy cat. Mom and I loved her. Every one else hated her with a passion.
I have read every comment and I could have written the same list of things that annoy me. I do have the excuse of age but it seems like I have been doing them all for the last 25 years. My biggest annoyance right now is getting down the long flight of stairs to my bottom level, (and it is a tremendous feat for me to just accomplish that) only to find that I forgot to bring down something that I really need down here. I never minded running back up the stairs when I had a pair of good legs. Now I think really hard about everything I will need before I descend. When I forget something I feel like sitting on the bottom step and weeping. Sometimes I do.
I must check my farms. Have a great day little owls everywhere.
Happy Thursday Owls.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I also have the same list. Tuesday I went to the store specifically to get ice for the sorority meeting at my house that night. While I was at the store I decided to pick up a couple of other things and left the store without the ice. DAMN!
And yesterday on my way to my nail appointment I apparently zoned out and and was two stop lights beyond my turn before I realized it. I even said aloud "where the hell am I going?" I have been going to the same nail person for 25 years, so it's not like I didn't know how to get there. sheesh!
Good morning everyone.......
ReplyDeletelol at turning on the water and having it go up your sleeve....
#8..9..10...and #1 are apparently popular....I know I have those covered
My bedroom has double doors...and if one is left closed I am definitely going to run into it...once I blacked my eye and broke my toe running into that door.....it was supposed to be open.
My current thing since getting another car last January is forgetting to unfasten my seat belt...and that can be embarrassing if their are people around....especially if you are trying for a fast exit....I can literally hang out my door by those straps....
And this is really gets me....I will get out of the shower with conditioner still in my hair or having not rinsed off the soap or both......and its not until I start to towel dry my hair and get the towel all smeared with conditioner that I realize it.....
that may or may not depend on #9..I am not pleading the fifth....ijs..
I want to thank everyone again for all the birthday wishes. I had a very nice leisurely day. (except for missing my turn to my nail appt.)
ReplyDeleteShirley, congrats on #1. BTW, you don't have to put the skeletons in the closet. There are plenty there already!
J/L and Shirley, Thanks for the QOTD today. Mary and J/L, I have more 'experience' than both of you! :)
Waving a wing to all the other Owls. I am off to get my sis, then we are going to see Noises Off at the local theater. I ushered for it a couple of weeks ago and it was so good I told my sis I would buy a ticket and go with her to see it again. BBML
SacBarb: You said:
ReplyDelete"I apparently zoned out".
In honor of the earlier story by someone who left their burner cover on, I humbly submit that you didn't zone out.
You "Zona"ed out! LOL!
Shirley Congrats on #1. Most kitties are very friendly. Some breeds just look crabby.
ReplyDeleteTina That's what I've been told. :)
Carol OMG! LMBO @ your remark about #9. Have you ever done that for "some unknown reason"?
LynnD and SacBatb I've done that, too. It's like I go on auto-pilot or something.
EBJ I do that trick, too, and it works well for short lists.
DeeDee LOL Exactly where are you applying that conditioner?
Zona If I had burner covers, I'd probably do that, too.
Bear LOL @ "Zona'd out"!
Bonach I am proud of who I am but I crack myself up, sometimes.
Tinka That just breaks my heart. Perhaps you could keep a tote at the top and bottom of the stairs and you could place items in it as you think of them so when you go down or up the stairs, you could take it with you.
MO I hate it when I am in bed for the night and have to get up to double-check that I turned the thermostat down like I meant to.
Goldie Yay, for being up and running!
MO Congrats on #25!
ReplyDeleteSacBarb I love the play "Noises Off". So funny!
ReplyDeleteLin, you're in good company, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWaving a slacker's wing to Lin, Shirley, Lynn, Zona, Tina, Carol, Bonachichi, Goldie, Bear, Maureen, East Bay J, Tinkatia, SacBarb, DeeDee. xoxo
No_Newz/Lois Lane Waving a wing back at you! So glad you stopped in. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm off to work. bbl
Afternoon Owls!
ReplyDeleteI just got home from running errands and I just wanted to comment to Mo I constantly leave the house get half way down the sidewalk and have to stop and remember if I made sure the door was securely shut. 9 times out of 10 I go back and double check. It is like I have OCD.
DeeDee I have done the seat belt stop too! Lord you feel like an idiot when it happens.
Whabby I frequently Zona out! LOL
I'm baaack.
ReplyDeleteThat play is so funny I heard the lady in front of me say she peed a little. I made sure to make a pit stop before I sat down.
J/L, I'm gonna have to rent the movie again. Carol Burnett was so funny in it. I think Christopher Reeve and John Ritter were in it too.
Bear, LMBO @ Zona'ed out
They just said on the news that the Bay Bridge is still going to be closed tomorrow. I hope they get the repair right this time.
Another news story: The Sac radio station that held the contest where the contestant died from water poisoning was held responsible and the husband was awarded $16.5M. I hope this serves as a lesson for all radio stations that hold stupid contests. Two RNs even called the station to tell them how dangerous this contest was and they dismissed the warnings.
Good blog J/L. I agree with the grocery item thing and the coupon. I also want to get stamps and remember when I am in the car. I used to have a car that was keyless and now my new car is not. I forever am sitting in my garage ready to go and can't start the car as I forgot to bring the damn key!!
ReplyDeleteZONA: I finally had to get rid of the burner covers or I was going to burn the house down.
I finally got a curling iron that shuts itself off so that saved on some return home visits.
LYNN: I am sure your daughter is "over" the weather already in Wyoming. It looks like our weather is visiting her and they are shut down too. We have over two feet of snow that nothing is moving in our town The weather for Monday s a balmy 65 though. I will venture out tomorrow when the streets are clean and it is not 10 degrees. We keep hearing that we are not getting a lot of snow this winter but when we get it plan on big and so far ....true. Come and visit now and play in the snow with us. I'll bet your little Richie is loving it.
Hmmm, I wonder what I can have for a late dinner. I cooked a new recipe last night and MRD has had all the leftovers tonight. Can you all believe that I made something that yummy? It was a new recipe called Bubble Up Pizza and it was pretty darn good. I sent the recipe to ZONA for her dinner tonight so we will have to see how they like it.
SHIRLEY: It sounds like you are getting our party all ready. I think I might be a little cold in my Lone Star Bear costume this year. Oh well, it's for the party....right?
Dianne Maybe the hair on your chest will help keep you warm. Plus, you could probably hide weapons and ammunition in those overalls.

ReplyDeleteJustlin, I could have written that blog, except for the oven thing! Since out fire, I watch it like a fox! Same as the dryer. I am constantly setting to the un-wrinkle cycle!
ReplyDeleteWhat irritates me the most about me is when I forget to take my grocery bags in the store. I always remember as I am about to check out. Sometimes I ask the clerk to watch my cart while I go out and get them.
Time to get these old bones to bed. I am pooped.
Oh yea MARY, I forget my grocery bags too. Guess what...? I have Bronco grocery bags. Is that a surprise or what? Everyone must have been making their costumes tonight. Maybe we should all come to the party as farmers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would be a good thing for the farmers to switch to the mafia. That's broken more often than it's working.
