~ Does the Punishment Fit the Crime? ~

by Tina~still_not_in_ut

Elizabeth Lambert has been suspended from playing soccer indefinitely, but from all the articles I've read, she probably wouldn't have been if her actions hadn't been caught on tape. The refs never even called her on the hair pulling. It boggles my mind that she could play like she did and get away with it. What happened to good sportsmanship?

After her suspension, Lambert issued an apology, stating, "I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary."

Do you think the punishment fit the "crime?"

  4. When I saw that video my first thought was "well theres Tina playing ball!!"

Thats one of the best comments posted that I have seen!

    "kicks Birdees head into goal!!!"

    OMG thats funny!

I'll bet she is asked to host SNL....she may have secured a lucrative future in Hollywood with that one hair pull.....I think there is more than meets the eye (gough) here......ijs

  5. Morning Glories!

Lois first again! Way to go!

I personally think she should be kicked out of the program. I saw the hair yank and watched that girls head snap back, looked like neck damage to me. I am so tired of all the crap that is accepted in not just school sports but professional too. The message seems to be everything is fair as long as you don't get caught. Wait even if you get caught and are a good player all's fair. Why not just give them a pass on everything and not even bother with the rest.

Ok gotta fly have food bank today.

I could write more but I think my anger is showing.

  7. Good Morning Hooters!

congrats on 1st Lois and glad you didn't count me in on your 'score'.

I also saw the video that shows her doing a 1-2 punch to another players head, that also didn't get called by the refs. I don't the punishment fit the crime. I think she should be charged with assault. That was not in the norm of play for soccer!

Hope everyone has a great day- and does and HAPPY VETERANS DAY to all and remember to honor and thank those who have served.

  8. Goldie..

I totally 100ptct agree, she should def be charged, because that is exactly what she did.. And she should be banned from soccer..
Who the fuck does she think she is to do what she did to someone.. Playing sports does not give anyone the right to abuse someone..

Shame on her.. she is a poor excuse for a athlete...

  9. Lynn..

So right.. that girl's head def snapped back.. and I agree.. the msg's that are being sent out are wrong..

  11. Good Morning!

TINA: I think she should be banned from the sport. I saw video where she punched another player in the back. She says 'her emotions got the best of her'? I have a hard time believing that if she plays again..she'll be able to control those emotions.

This all reminds me of the scene in 'Grease' where the coach is trying to find a sport that Danny can play..since he seems to want to hit everyone. Maybe the solution for Elizabeth Lambert is the same..maybe she could try.."Running...long distance running..".

Safe travels TINA..have fun in Florida!

  12. LL/NN: Congrats on FIRST! And thanks for the first big laugh of my day! :D

LYNN: I agree with you..'as long as you don't get caught'..is an excuse I hear from kids every day..it bugs the heck out of me.

DEEDEE: If nothing else she'll wind up on one of those reality shows as a 'villian'..

CAROL: I saw your HiHO and found myself waving HI back at you! ;)

GOLDIE: I'll be glad to share my pinch with you! ;)

Happy Veteran's Day..and a big Thank You to all who have served to protect our rights and freedom!

  15. Happy Veteran's Day!

    NN/LL LMAO! :)

DeeDee Oh, yeah, that's what they need....concealed weapons on the field. LOL

I hope all you HOoters have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why do I have a feeling that Dee Dee would love any excuse to pull that damn concealed weapon????

I was really saddened when I went home for lunch today, and noticed that not only on our block, but for about 4 blocks before my street we are the ONLY ones flying our flag today. tsk, tsk.

  17. Peeking in..I don't wanna get hit or my hair pulled or anything. I can't watch the video, at work, so I just wanted to say "Howdy Y'all"

  20. Hurricane Tina landed about 30 minutes ago....
I hate it when she and Mr.Tina go anywhere together....
And do yall know she had a sick child at home AND my birthday is Sunday!!

I have been ditched for Jacksonville Florida....I feel like I have been marked down on clearance!

And Bonachichi...while I am thinking about it....that is not a rodent on my head! Those are ass feathers of an ostrich.....and yes there is one ostrich on my island missing his ass feathers but it has NOTHING to do with my hat! TYVM!

  21. Hi...DEEDEE , thanks for the update on TINA. I was thinking that maybe "Aunt DEEDEE should go to Utah and babysit the sick child. I think that would put TINA'S mind to rest and then y ou could celebrate your bday there. I think that would be fun for everyone. Think about it....

Happy Veterans Day to all our Vets and families over the many years of protecting our country.

This girl on the video needs to maybe have some counseling regarding anger...ya' think? I hope we don't end up seeing her on talk shows as that would really be wrong in my opinion.

There is not much going on here today. I am home and thought I would catch up on some things but I am mostly catching up on watching TV.

Those of you that are intreested, remember the CMA music awards are on tonight. Yummm, a night of Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, George Strait...this is about as good as when Miss America is on..(remember, I really do like that show too). I will be in "dreamland" watching my favorite men tonight and MRD will be in dreamland listening to me sing along to all the songs. I"ll bet he is counting the minutes as I type.

Hope you are all good today and thinking of every one of you.

  22. DeeDee MS is notifying me that your bday is SATURDAY. So, which of you is right?

  23. Tina Florida is my birth state. Don't do anything bad to it. ;)

  24. 1 800 DUMB ASS!!!!!!
    Ur birthday is on Saturday!!!!!

  25. She should be arrested for assault and tried as an adult. She needs anger management and perhaps drug testing. And not be allowed to participate in any team sport again. And maybe do some community service with at risk youth.

    TINA...have fun in FLA.

    DEE DEE...ass hat!? LOL!

    NO NEWZ...awesome!

LYNN...ran over someone, huh? At least it was only your emotions running wild!!

I think what it boils down to is that too many kids are taught that only winning is acceptable, so it matters not how they achieve the win. And kids are NOT taught to respect others...or themselves. Sad, really sad.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tina: Whoa! I think the best punishment for her would be to have to listen to the tape of Serena Williams at the US Open... over... over... and over... again! LOL!

Diane: Have a great time tonight! We'll be watching Glee instead of the CMA awards, I'm afraid. Love Glee!

Dee Dee: LOL@marked down on clearance. Sparked a thought for a Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence nun drag name though: Sister Clearance Isle!

I thought of another drag name the other day, too, good for somebody who lives in a breezy region of the South:

    Augusta Wind!

  27. Wow, I think she should be arrested for assault.

  28. I wonder if that girl is the type to get involved in girl gang fights. I wonder if she understands, or even cares, that yanking someone's head back like that could cause permanent and catastrophic injury. Maybe she should have to go volunteer at a hospital and see what people with neck and spine injuries go through in rehab to try and walk again.

    Ur birthday is on Saturday!!!!!

  30. Tina How many times do you want to say that? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow, only 36, where is everybody? Farming? Well.... I was lol!

Mr Mary painted the ceiling today while I was at lunch with friends. I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I didn't tell him how bad it looked, with streaks, missed spots and paint drips! He went to play cards with friends tonight and I grabbed the paint can and went over the whole ceiling! I used over half the paint can. He had barely used 1/4th of it. I am thinking it was a man trick so I don't ask him to do it again! lol!! Well, it worked!

    NN,ROTF! I loved your "no comment",comment!

DeeDee, I must say, you are looking mighty fine for a Lady that can't remember your birthday, ijs

Tina, on your blog, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Did they punish her at all? It all seemed a little sadistic to me. She didn't look like she thought it was any big thing. I have a feeling others have seen her wrath!
Have fun in sunny Florida! It is 27* here in Mich :(

  32. Mary My husband once painted the living room and hallway while I was away for a week. When I came home and saw it, I started crying because I felt so bad that I had to tell him how horrible it was. OMG! A person who is shade blind should not paint! There were streaks and missed spots that he couldn't see at all. It was really bad!

    ReplyDelete
  33. JustLin, It must have been hard to tell him! I think My Hubby didn't concentrate in one area, but just took swipes here & there and called it good! He said he will "touch up" the spots tomorrow! He won't find them and I may have to confess! lol!

Have a great Thong Thursday everyone! I am heading to bed...with one very sore arm:(

Niters to all the stalk...er I mean lurkers ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mary Good night! Hope your arm is as good as new in the a.m.

  35. Just lynn m-m-m-m me too! Goodnite!

  36. J/L AND MARY: Y ou two are so sweet. I must be a total bitch. I would have told my husband when I came home that it wasn't done right. I would have told him in my sweetest..."it's wrong" voice. Oh well, we won't be painting here so no worries. Night

    ReplyDelete
  37. All of you are probably sleeping like babies by now. My back was worse today. I bent over to make my bed and had a terrible spasm. Later in the day I swatted a fly and that really did it.

I have seen the tape on TV and I also saw the part where she kicked a player over and over in the back and stomach. She should be banned from soccer and brought up on charges. It has become too acceptable for people to be violent.

I hope everyone wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed.
