I've always thought of myself as Mexican. I grew up spending most of my time with that side of my family. I knew I was light skinned, but that didn't matter. I don't know how old I was when I realized I'm only half Mexican. Most of my cousins are full-blooded, but my mom married a gringo. Although I love my dad, I always felt cheated! My cousins would say, "You're only half!" I was jealous. When I married a gringo (boy was my mom bummed!), I realized that my kids would only be 1/4 Mexican. It still didn't matter to me. I would make sure I raised them to know and appreciate their heritage.
My brothers, sister, sister-in-law, nephew and I took our parents to dinner on Saturday night to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. My hubby and kids couldn't come, but everyone asked how they were all doing. I started to describe my 17 yr old's search for the right college. I told them the story about one of the meetings hubby and son had with the college counselor. Hubby asked the counselor if my son could/should put on his college applications that he is Hispanic. He explained that he is 1/4 Mexican and the counselor stated, "He has every right to declare that on his application, but that it is up to us whether he does or not." One of my son's friends just groaned, "You'll get in anywhere now!" My son just smiled.
My brother listened with interest. I told him that I assumed that he and my SIL mark down on everything they fill out for their son that he is Hispanic. Before my brother could say a word, my SIL interrupted and said, "No we don't. We write that he's a human being!!!" WTF!!! What in the hell is that supposed to mean? She went on to say that her son will earn his way into college and anything else.......as if my son isn't! I was furious. My nephew is 3/4 Mexican and looks it and apparently my SIL tells him instead that he's American. Where is her pride in her heritage? It's a slap in my mother's face, too!
I tried to ignore and keep the peace, so I moved on and told my brother that my son has applied to 9 universities and listed them all. When I got to Notre Dame, all of a sudden we heard this shreak from my SIL, "Notre Shame? Notre Shame? Why would he want to go there? Notre Shame?" I racked my brain quickly to try to figure out what she was talking about. I tried to ignore her, but she kept it up. Then it dawned on me. They let the President speak at the school and there was a big to do about it. Oh my hell! Notre Dame is my son's "reach" school. We probably can't afford to send him there, but he'd be going there to get an engineering degree.....it's not a political thing!
The entire time this was going on, I had my hand on my sister's knee squeazing it to keep me from smacking my SIL! Luckily, my hard of hearing parents did not hear any of this because they were having a conversation of their own. My SIL drives me INSANE! She has a warped way of thinking. This is the same woman who helped her son with an assignment at school last year and he failed miserably. He was supposed to do a poster of his heritage and dress up as well. She sent him to school in a baseball uniform and put the American flag and a picture of apple pie on the poster.
I don't get it. I thought most people were proud of their heritage. In any case, thank you for indulging me. I told my sister on our way home from dinner, "I see a blog in this!" (I didn't tell her how theraputic it is!)

HI!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what my g-daughter mark's down as to "what" she is, never asked her. It's her decision. I do know she is interested in learning about her mexican side. We don't discourage her, her encourage her.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Notre Dame, it's not whether I like who they invite or not....it's that they have an open mind that count's.
Personally, I was glad they invited Obama.
I should shut up!!
ReplyDeleteSHUT UP, BIRDEE!!!!!!
Good Morning Hooters~
ReplyDeletecongrats on 1st Birdee! Keep talking- no need to shut up.
tina~ your story reminded me of when my son was applying for scholarships for college. He wailed to me one day " I am a blue eyed white boy, 1/2 german and 1/2 mixed Europeon- they don't give scholarships for that".
I am a full blooded German. First in my family line to marry outside the all german heritage. Very proud of my heritage. Mr. Goldie is a mix of German, English, Irish and Polish. He embraces the Irish part- and is a huge Notre Dame fan!
Sounds to me like your SIL is trying to hide her heritage- probably because of the rotten way alot of the Mexican's are treated in this country.
Good morning Owls....Yes, it is really me at 8:35 AM in Denver. I don't know why I am awake except maybe because I was in bed by 10PM after waking from a nap on my recliner. My tummy has been bothering me for a week so I just go to sleep..plus I am tired! We had a nice dinner but horrible service and that makes me mad when you are paying so much. My SIL ordered a beer half way through dinner and when the waiter finally came back I asked about the beer and he laughed and said, "oh yeah, it's on the corner of the bar...my bad." I filled out an opinion card and not too nice. There were other things too.just irritates me when you are spending so much money at an especially "nice" place. Ok enough....guess that is my blog for this quarter!
ReplyDeleteBIRDEE: I am glad your granddaughter had a fun bday. Is she going to be driving now? My GD's would love to be 16...soon enough I tell them.
TINA; Interesting blog....as you know my deceased husband was a Barajas. At my previous job my manager told me that the big boss of this company called her to talk about my last name and told her to be sure and put down that I was hispanic so it would meet the quotas. Another interesting story is that a friend that I knew at that time was married to a Hispanic guy and she told me whenever I made reservations anywhere to be sure and use my previous last name or we would be sitting by the kitchen. I found that really strange and didn't ever do that but this person was not ashamed of having the hispanic last name (I don't think) she just said that was how people treated you with it. How sad is that? On a lighter note...my few last names over 63 years have made me Swedish, German, Mexican....I am really quite Irish.
Good Morning to BIRDEE, GOLDIE. WOW it looks different in here this early with the daylight and all.
GOLDIE: How did your Packers party turn out? It was sad that you lost. I was cheering and watching the game from here yesterday and I am always for GB unless they play the Broncos. Now....you need to cheer us on loud tonight for Monday night football.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to my son's to babysit so they can go to the game. We are going at 3:30 and the game isn't until 6:30 but they go to dinner and ride the bus. I am trying to figure out how I am going to manage these three busy boys for all that time. I am taking MrD with me for help!
Good morning Birdee (congrats), Diane & Goldie!
ReplyDeleteWow, Tina! What a can of racial worms! I don't know that I want to touch that. I think I'll step carefully awhile.
Dianne, our get together was fun - the men were swearing a lot at the tv, the woman were sitting outside most of the time. The weather has been superb here! I promise to root for your Broncos.
ReplyDeleteG-Morning to you Bona
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Birdee! When is Carol going to sew your head back on?
Tina your SIL is ashamed of her husband and childrens heritage and excuse me but I think she is a bigot. Sorry just calling it as I see it. I think you did the right thing by letting it drop.
Be proud of your heritage!!! Nothing one bit wrong with that!
Why am I not surprised to see "Insane" and Tina's name to follow?! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYay #1 hooter Birdee!!!
We should claim who we are and where we came from. Especially on the college aps, you can get a lot of money if you have various nationalities in ya!!!
Have a great day everyone!
Great thanks GOLDIE. UMMM, I was wondering if you and JODI would put on your orange tassels for the game tonight? You know , just for a little extra luck
ReplyDeleteTINA - Great blog, and I commend you for not beating the crap out of your SIL!!! I hope your son keeps reaching for the stars....cuz if he gets in you will be visiting and I could drive over to meet you!!!
ReplyDeleteBIRDEE - Congrats on 1st!!! And I agree with GOLDIE....no need to shut up!!!
GOLDIE - DIANNE texted me the final score of the GB game yesterday, and I thought it had to be a joke, but noooooooooo!!! Holy crap!! Glad I wasn't watching it, I would've been swearing, too!!!
DIANNE - Too bad for the poor service you got!! Totally not acceptable in my book. I'm sure you probably needed two cards!! I have my BRONCOS shirt on ready for the big game tonight!!!
BONACHICHI - hmmmmmm....really?!!?
LYNN D - Great talking with you this morning!! Sounds like your daughter has her hands full!!
LOIS - Too bad my son is home sick....I was really contemplating driving down to take you to lunch today!!!
DIANNE - Tassels are ready....on my BRONCOS scarf!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for indulging me everybody~ Quite frankly....i was being kinda nice....i can't stand that woman~ :D
ReplyDeleteBirdee~ Congrats on first~ never shut up....i think...depends on if you are talking about nascar or not and who ur favorite driver is...if it's JG, then SHUT UP!!! :)~
Goldie~ U may be right.....but why? I just think she's a fool~
DiDi~ I'd love to see you try to get away with being Mexican~ Although, last night my dad raised his hand at dinner and said HE'S 1/2 Mexican! made me laugh....cuz he kinda is~
Bonachichi~ Oh just touch it!!!~
LynnD~ SHE'S full blooded Mexican!~
NN/LL~ I know~ we're putting it on everything~
Jodi~ I was so close to doing it tho~ Of course, it's like that every time I see her~ We are picking up my nephew from school today....I'll have 3-4 hours to convince him that he's mexican!!! (I wouldn't really do that to him!) BUT I WANT TO!!!!!~
Okay.....off to see my aunt~
See DIANNE?!!?
ReplyDeleteTINA - Have fun visiting your Aunt!! And my bad.....Happy 45th Anniversary to your parents!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeleteGO BRONCOS GO!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDelete25!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Owls.
ReplyDeleteTina, Good for you in keeping your temper in check. I know from experience how hard that is when there is something you feel so passionately about, but you didn't want to ruin your parents celebration with a girl-on-girl brawl. Although the guys might have liked that. It's too bad your SIL can't be proud of her heritage and be a better example for her son. You SHOULD try to encourage him to be proud of his heritage.
Good morning BARB!!! Waving a toothy grin from WESconsin!!!
ReplyDeleteBirdee got the worm for being first today. And this is the place where you don't have to shut up.
ReplyDeleteNN, LOL @ Tina...insane.
Dianne, Sorry your birthday dinner was a bust. I hope the rest of your day was better.
Lynn, I hope this week is better for you too.
Jodi, Still keeping your Dad in my prayers. (((HUGS))) to you.
Goldie, I have a blond, blue eyed son who said the same thing.
Bonachichi, have you left Nipomo yet?
Zona, I hope you're getting around better today.
Waving to all the other Owls. I hope you all have a great day.
Hi everybody.....
ReplyDeleteI have seen the child in question and I would say ¡Cómo está usted hoy! Cute kid. And I have seen his ugly Mother and I would say ¡Usted tiene cagar para cerebros!!
I don't know how Tina's brother got mixed up with Chiquita Vera Cruz de la Hoya Cardinal....but she is a perra from hell and if I had been there for the insults she threw out there....she would have been wearing her fottendo entree!!
Which takes me back to yesterdays blog and what I wrote about carrying a concealed weapon. A hollow point to the ankle wouldn't have killed her....
Having spent my life as a "lily white"...I have always wished I had a little something mixed in so that ALL my color didn't have to come from Estee Lauder!
All kidding aside.....shes messing up a perfectly good child....and its legal...as long as you keep them fed and clean....and don't beat them....you can screw up their heads as much as you please...
I guess Texas A&M is out of Tinas son's future as well....we also invited the President to speak...well...former president Bush Sr. invited him but we were thrilled to have a sitting president in town....
Chiquita is a homicide waiting to happen.......
Tina that is worse. She hates herself! Wonder how she feels about being a woman?
ReplyDeleteHI Goldie, Lois, Lynn, Bonachichi, Tina, Dianne, Sacbarb, Jodi, DeeDee!!
ReplyDeleteTina, I told myself to shut up earlier, because I deleted a comment that said your SIL pissed me off. I didn't think I should have said that...I was already in a bad mood and thought I over reacted a bit. ;o(
Regarding JG.....I'll shut up!!! LOL
Dianne, G-daughter has been practicing her driving. She's pretty good at it. I'm not ready for her to be behind the wheel yet!
You know all that change we collected a few week's ago? She had $80 of it left, so she donated it at school so two families could have a Thanksgiving dinner. I thought that was very nice of her, since they really only asked if each student could donate to one family. Since she did that, I gave her my portion of the money we had split. Just wanted her to know I was proud of her for being generous and thoughtful. She said her b-day money will be spent on other's for Christmas...not herself!....Hope your tummy feel's better and have fun babysitting!
Goldie, the weather has been really nice here too. Feel's like Spring again!
Lynn, I think Carol may fix my head sometime this week. If I don't get in a better mood though, she may put it up my ass! ha!!!
Waving at everyone that flies in after me!!
Jodi- sorry your son is sick- which one?
ReplyDeleteDianne- ok, for you I will dust off the tassels. Actually, I believed I used them a few days ago when Mr. Gold..........wait- to much info. Suffice it to say, I know where they are :)
tina~ who knows why?? I guess it just is what it is. And that is not always a good thing. Including your SIL.
Birdee Congrats on sticking your head in first today!
ReplyDeleteTina What an interesting and provocative blog today. I don't know your SIL or what her personal experience in life has been like. Perhaps she is very prideful and figures if she doesn't want to be singled out for her ethnicity in a negative way then she also doesn't want to be singled out with any special considerations. To not want her son to go to a prestigeous school like Notre Dame, though, because they had the President of the United States speak there, is downright stupid. It's like that old saying, "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face". If your ethnicity gives you a bit of help to get into a good school, then it would be silly not to take advantage of that. The schools certainly give the kids of their alumni and doners special consideration. I hope her children will grow up to be adults who understand that they have a rich and colorful heritage to be proud of. My grandkids are half Mexican. Unfortunately, my DIL doesn't know how to cook anything Mexican nor does she speak Spanish. Every Christmas I get a bunch of homemade tamales from her mother, though. Yum!
Bottom line is, no one should feel like they should hide their ethnicity, reagardless of the reason.
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE - It's Tim. He ate breakfast then almost immediately threw it up. I just thought it best to keep him home today.
ReplyDeleteBARBA - Thanks for the prayers for Dad....he's doing ok. Still holding his own. Next week he is going to be part of a study for a new inhaler. I guess it will give him something to do and get him out of the house. :O)
ZONA - I hope you're feeling better in no time!! I hope it wasn't the Deep Fried Cheese Curds from Culver's!!!
ReplyDeleteI best keep going....laundry is a never ending job around here. Oh, and I have to make a trip to the post office!!!
SLIN - I've never had a tamale....but I have had Lutefisk and Lefse!!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi I've never had those but I have a feeling tamales are a lot better. LOL
ReplyDeleteHOdi I hope Tim is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteRe: Tina insane, Barb, am I right or what? LOL! Would want her any other way!
ReplyDeleteTina, I'd put it on everything too! Even if we had 1/100th, free school money is free school money.
Oh JodiHo HodiJo!!! What's wrong with the kid? Hoping its just a cold. Wish you could have made the trip. Some day, right!?
Dee! Hahahaha!
DEE DEE - Gotta love an Estee Lauder gal!!
ReplyDeleteLOIS - Very soon....like before the snow flies!!!
LOIS - He just threw up his breakfast, but not running a fever. He's tough, but I can tell he's not feeling well....too damn quiet!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Owls - Tina is your sil usually so contrary, or just over this particular issue? I wonder what is making her so afraid to acknowledge her heritage. As far as scholarships, there are a million of them out there. Jennifer's father ran a scholarship search for a while and I remember one that required that the applicant be Hispanic, living in Utah with a crack whore mother.:)Seriously, does this mean her son will pay his way through a university with no help from any one, including his parents? Does she have any idea how much it costs?
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to Eunice & Dianne. I hope this is a happy week for everyone. Today I am going to attack the second parrot cage for a big time cleaning.
As VIG might sign off with something like - Pickles and Paprika
Ok, I think I might be grouchy today. I found myself honking if a car was day-dreaming thru the green turn light arrow, I honked at a big commercial truck that merged without letting anyone know he was merging and then I saw him on his f@@@@ cell phone totally oblivious to everyone around.
ReplyDeleteSecond clue I might be grouchy: two places by us do not have their flags at half-mast. They were supposed to be lowered to that last Thursday after the Ft Hood incident and stayed lowered until Veterans Day...so I called them and was very sweet reminding them. They were very nice back..now I will go and see if they lowered them.
Third: I was ten minutes late for my dr appt because of road construction. It is everywhere in Denver. I thought that was a summer deal!
Now I am about ready to go and take care of the three boys...that should perk me right up!! Well, for at least the first 10 min until they all start fighting and wrestling, etc.
I'm telling you now.....the Broncos had b etter win tonight!! I'm just sayin'
Thank you for listening to my chatter....
Slani Hey, fancy meeting you here!
ReplyDeleteDianne Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed today! I woke up grouchy, too. My old, mostly deaf, kitty was yelling at the end of the hall at about 5:15 a.m. She yells extra loud because she can't hear but usually she'll stop after a minute....but not today! Finally, I brought her into the bedroom with me but all she wanted to do was walk on my head or bite my hand with her one tooth every time I stopped petting her. I finally got her to settle down after about an hour.
:(
TINA: I have a SIL that is an awful lot like yours..only she focuses on religion. She hates the fact that her brother married a Catholic. She gives me the most withering looks when I mention anything about the Church..so of course I talk about being Catholic as much as I can. ;) You show a huge amount of patience not saying anything to your SIL..but then..why waste your breath on someone so ignorant? It's only a matter of time before your nephew realizes what she is doing and calls her on it..what a day that will be..and I know you'll be there to talk to him when that day comes! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't understand people that don't embrace their heritage..it's your family..your blood..your heart..it's what makes us all who we are..why deny something so important to your life..it just doesn't make sense.
BIRDEE: Congrats on FIRST!
Back to bed I go..have a great day everyone!
Tina, it sucks when you don't like your in-laws. Kudos to you for tolerating her and keeping the peace.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb; I left Nipomo last night. I have to hover around home this week because I have jury duty. Here we have to call every day after 5:00 to find out whether we're supposed to show up the next day. Like being a hostage for a week. Since I'm self employed, I must take the week "off" without pay.
ReplyDeleteSLANI!!! Great to see you today!! Good luck with the cage. :O) Peace and white cheddar popcorn.....ijs!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - I totally embrace my Norweigan heritage....even the rotten fish!!! And my little Norweigan. ;)
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY - Mark that down....I got 25 & 50!!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi Nice marching! Must be that scarf you're wearing helping you out.
ReplyDeleteoh you all make me laugh~ My SIL is ALWAYS contrary~ I told my sister that I was going to title this blog "She's an EFF'd up Bitch!" but I changed my mind~ This is the same woman who was pregnant with twins and didn't want a doctor....she wanted a mid-wife....and when the doc told her that he wanted to induce labor, she wouldn't let him....and when they were 2 weeks overdue.....OVERDUE!!!! TWINS!!!! her water finally broke....so she got in the shower, then made breakfast, and after about 3 hrs, FINALLY went to the hospital....and she can't figure out why Julia didn't make it and the boy did!!!!!!!!! There are so many stories i could tell! DeeDee, bring ur gun!
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, my nephew is here and we are doing homework! shhhhhhhh.....he's doing better than i am!!! he's so cute and Mexican looking! :)~
Sacky~ i've tried with my nephew....but it's like she's brainwashed him...the kid won't even take candy without her approval....we have noticed tho, as he's grown, he's starting to question things....so that's good!!~
ReplyDeleteDeeDee~ I dare say, if you had come to dinner with us, omg....i wouldn't have a SIL left!!!!~
You guys should see what she did to one of my family pictures....I laughed so hard.....and so did my sister~
LynnD~ a woman? well.....oh don't get me started!!! omg!!!
Birdee~ I told you...just say it!~
J/L~ my mom makes tamales every xmas!! yummy~
NN/LL~ lol at 1/100th~
Toad honey~ It's SO nice to see you today~ I gotta make sure my son applies for that there scholarship!~ :D
DiDi~ I'm SO glad i didn't call you today! how are you now? is it safe? :)~
Zona~ i get it...and thanks for getting up to post~
Congrats on 3! today Birdeeee!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been mia, I have been up to my full blooded Mexican ass with Karaoke, kitchen painting,volunteering,gross-ery shopping, and tonight I have to catch up on my ironing. Tomorrow is DDS appt. and more outdoor winterizing.
I have a Karaoke gig Fri. night so I need to organize that! Dam I forgot I have to go to Lows tomorrow to order my dishwasher! Don't even get me started on my "farming" lol! That is my one indulgence!
Tina, Your SIL sounds like a "piece of work"! I am curious how she came to be married to your Bro. surely she knew his heritage!
Bigot is a good word for her.
A friend of mine's BIL hates anyone not white. He doesn't let his kids watch tv because they may see a black person on it! She said they are in their teens and think he is nuts, so there is hope there lol!
Wish I could comment on all of you. Hopefully after Thanksgiving I will slow down a bit! :)
Go Broncs!!
Birdee, I have no idea where the "3" came from lol!! That was supposed to be "congrats on #1", oh I see I didn't "shift" lol!
ReplyDeleteI am taking a bird cage break. This bird is a hand me down, from a friend, that was supposed to be a nice bird....NOT! If he wasn't mean enough before he will be worse now after trying every which way to get him out of the cage into the carrier. I was too chicken to grab him with a towel. I was going to get the bird gloves from the hospital, but my friend Chris warned me that it is hard to feel how strong a grip and of the possibility of strangling the bird...I told her that was an option (jk) So now I am cleaning around periodic attacks.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all the glad to see you comments. I still keep good thoughts and prayers for those with ill mums and dads, aching bones and wacky relatives.
P.S. I forgot to include headaches and sick kids.
ReplyDeleteHi Lani! Careful, we already have one headless bird here lol!!
ReplyDeleteGood to see yah!
Back to ironing...

ReplyDeleteTina: Notre Shame? For letting Obama speak there? OMG... no wonder you didn't get what she was talking about right away! That's just ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteYou should set up a meeting between your SIL and myself some day. Something tells me she could use a reality check on several fronts!
Area 51
ReplyDeleteJustlin, I wanted to paint a light green. I brought home a few samples and hated them, so the walls and sophists will be a lt.cream.
SacBarb, lay/lei cracked me up!!
Whabbear, do we really have to "bring up" your "fronts"? lol!!
ReplyDeleteTINA...good for you for not smacking the living shit outta her!! Does your bro not see she is dissing his mom...and him? OY VEY! She doesn't embrace your heritage...how does she feel about you being a crackwhore? LOL!
ReplyDeleteKinda on this topic...this old man patient we have called one of the directors and said he only wanted white clinicians to see him. She informed him we are equal opportunity employers so she may not be able to guarantee a caucasion clinician. He agreed to an Indian nurse! The even funnier part of the story is...the director he called is married to an African American! She bit her tongue the whole time. If a persons religion requires a male or female clinician, we will ALWAYS accomodate that...but not to feed their bigotry.
BIRDEE...you should be so proud of that grandaughter! What a compassionate young lady.
I believe people are people...except for maybe Jeff Gordon
LANI...how nice to see you! Will you stick around now?????
ReplyDeleteDIANNE...sorry you had such sucky service...especially on your birthday. We went to breaky yesterday and there were only 2 waitresses for the entire dining room and the service could not have been better. The little girl that was waiting on us was running her ass off and didn't miss a beat.
HODI...sorry Tim is sick. Hope he is better soon. Positive thoughts and prayer for your dad, too.
Tina, are you saying your SIL had twins and only one made it because she didn't want to induce?
ReplyDeleteI am sure I must have read that wrong.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first ms. headless birdee.
I hope everyone had a great Monday. I had a rough one. But, there is always tomorrow.
I want to run my ass off and not miss a beat.
ReplyDeleteBEBBI...I'm sorry you had a rough day. I hope it passed and tomorrow is much better
ReplyDeleteThanks Mo. I hope your day was good.
ReplyDeleteMaureen your comment has me confused.
ReplyDelete"TINA...good for you for not smacking the living shit outta her!!"
Ok "living shit" as apposed to what...dead shit?!!!! Lol!!!
Evening all!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Headless!!
Tina your SIl is just...well...um...hmmmm...indiscribable. That's the nicest thing I can be.
Hey everyone.. I have finally come out of my non thinking mode, and feel better..

I have a couple of things to do.. so
ReplyDeleteI will be bbl..

Slani Sorry the bird is not cooperating. Maybe you should have Headless Birdee there to scare him into behaving.
ReplyDeleteMary Light cream sounds nice. Aren't you glad to have the painting done?
Dianne How are you holding up with those 3 boys?
Bebbi I do believe you read it right.
MO LOL @ smacking the living shit out of her. I haven't heard that expression in a long time.
Shirley How's you mum doing?
Carol We are happy to help you hold it together.
Ok, we are still babysitting and the Broncos played like crap!! Now who wants to talkb to me???
ReplyDeleteTina, that is interesting that the college let him chose which heritage he wanted to put on his app.
ReplyDeleteWe have been told to always put the dad's heritage on all our forms and in doubt mark multicultural. No idea if adminstration is correct, but I do what I'm told.
I have encountered many papers who leave "race" blank on the school enrollment, because they refuse to answer it for whatever reason.
Anywho, I'm sooooooooo glad I did not have to sit through a dinner like that, she is giving off a way too negative vibe.
Lois Lane made it on Rosie's q/a!!!! She posted Lois's blog!!!
ReplyDeleteMOHO - Thank you....he's much better. Although, I don't know how he's going to feel after schoold tomorrow when I kick his ass into next week. I had run a load of Paul and my work clothes in the washer before I went to bed and I asked him to put them into the dryer for me. Thankfully, I couldn't sleep and decided to check on the load. Freakin' hell.....he didn't do it!! And Sam must've lost her freakin' mind, too, cuz I asked her to make sure the load got dried (our dryer sucks and with some heavier loads it takes more than one cycle to dry). Thanks also for the prayers for Dad.
ReplyDeleteBEBBI - Hoping tomorrow is better for you!!
DIANNE - Does that mean my tassels didn't work?!!? I fell asleep before the game was done....do I dare ask?
JENNIFER - I hope your week flies by without the mister. (((hugs))) from WESconsin!!!
SHIRLEY - Once again...thanks for making me smile!!
ReplyDeleteCAROL - Glad you're past the "not thinking" mode!! :O) :O) :O)
WHABBY - I'd like to be in the corner when you give her that talking to!!!
have i mentioned that the fruit in California is WAY better than at home?
ReplyDeleteBear~ You made me laugh....my SIL likes to set up these "lunches" that none of us ever go to....cuz we know that all they are is alone time for her to tell US what she thinks and/or wants!
ReplyDeleteDiDi~ sorry the Broncos lost....i called home and that's one of the first things they told me! Kind of a warning of sorts.....if I talked to you! :)~
