Its that time of year.....

The wonderful ordeal of Christmas Shopping
The crowds, The germs, The messy stores,
The traffic, The beeping, The parking,
The shoving, The pushing, The lines

The thought process!
Should I get this, No maybe I'll get that
But they would like this, No the color is not good
So I will go with that, No they don't have the right size
Well then I will will go with this, No its not on sale
I think I will get a gift certificate

The Ending Results
The headache, The feet pounding,
The sweating, The aggravation,
The exhaustion, The backache
The hunger!

Oh, yes the wonderful ordeal of Christmas Shopping

Tis the Season do be jolly, Ho Ho Ho

NOT!

Wish me luck!

:O)

  7. Morning Glories!

    Zona congrats on first!

Carol Rots of Ruck! You are going to need it. LOL I survived the mall last week.

Here is my tip of the day kids. Got to the mall as soon as they open Sunday morning anytime before 12:00 and 1:00. This is before church lets out and then they usually go eat and the mall is not as crowded. I have been known to do this for grossry shopping too!

Being a heathen has it's advantages!

  8. Woke up this morning and I thought it feels warmer. Wohoo it is 20 degrees at 4 am and climbing. Where having a heat wave.....

Ok need to get ready for my crazy busy day. Oh and lest I forget we had a secret Santa yesterday that delivered 200 brand new toys for various ages, dropped off at the food bank for the kids! Now that does help put me in the holiday spirit! Would not tell us who he was or where he was from.

Safe shopping to you and the "up" MR.Z!

BEBBI...good morning. Yep, it's that time!

LYNN...secret Santa is an angel, too! 200 toys is amazing. Helps to renew your faith in mankind.

CAROL...I hope you survive your shopping adventure!

  10. Zona Congrats on first today! Seems like Mr. Z is up a lot of the time.....ijs. ;)

LynnD LOL @ your heat wave. Pretty soon you'll be wearing flip flops. That is really neat about the 200 toys for the kids. What a nice thing that man did.

Bebbi Who you calling "Ho"? LOL

    MO Happy Hanukkah!

Carol Be careful out there! I was out yesterday doing a bit of shopping. Of course, some of it was for me. Does that count?

Because of the economic times, us adults have decided to only do stocking stuffers and no big presents for each other. We'll still do presents for the kids, though. My daughter had already done most of her shopping early, with many gifts bought while she was traveling and can't be returned, so....she's still giving us all presents. I have gone and bought her and her SO gifts since I know they are giving me one. Christmas has gotten complicated this year.

Generally, I avoid going to the big malls during the weekend not matter what time of year it is.

  12. Tina It's in the low 50's here.....downright balmy. We're in between raindrops at the moment. I am trying to motivate myself to do something constructive like vacuum or address cards.

  13. Happy Saturday Owls.

It is rainy and windy here today and I just got back from meeting my SIL half-way between Sac and San Jose. We do this every year so we can visit and exchange gifts for the family so we don't have to mail them. Usually it's nice, but today I hated the drive in the pouring rain. I am happy to be back in my warm cozy home.

Carol, I agree that shopping is all those things you said. I used to like going to the malls, seeing the decorations and people buzzing around, but I like it less every year now. I have done most of my shopping online. Saves gas, stress and my energy.

  16. Zona, Have fun at the party and good luck out there in the fray.

Mo, Happy Hanukkah. Still praying and keeping everything crossed. It's kinda hard to walk this way, but for my Husband's other wife, anything!

    Tina, Get busy!!!

J/L, I hate to drive in the rain. My SIL and I had plans to meet at Marie Calendar's in Fairfield near the outlets. We got there and it was CLOSED. Another sign of the economy, I guess. So we went to Dead (Red) Lobster. I love their biscuits.

Lynn, when I do go to the mall, I also go on Sunday morning (go to church on Sat. night) or during the week at 3-5pm. Working people are not off work yet and a lot of people who don't work shop in the morning. It doesn't seem so crowded.

  17. Zona, I forgot my manners...Congrats on FIRST!

  18. Carol - Good Afternoon. I guess I should have said that to Zona too. I just got up from my nap and I thought it was morning. Carol, that is what I am doing right now trying to organize presents that I have had different family members get for others. I made a list and they went shopping for me. I couldn't do it this year. I can't say I missed it. It will be fun to wrap them.

  19. Good Afternoon Bebbi, Lynn, Maureen, Just Lin, Tina and SacBarb. Good Luck with your shopping.

  20. Hooray!

I survived.. its was not so bad.. However I was out and about by 8:30a, so most of the stores where not that crowded.. When I was leaving the Mall tho things were getting a little crazed, so glad I went early..

I also went to Walmart.. wow what great deals they have, I so wish there was one closer to me, I have to travel about 30min or so, but it is well worth it. Its is such a nice Walmart, and the ppl that work there are so nice too.. Even the bathroom is nice ;O)

I got mostly every gift I needed.. I went with a list and what to buy everyone so it was just a matter of getting to the store that I needed to get to.. I just have to finish up the Italian Stallions, they can be difficult, cause they like all different things.. I will conquer them next weekend.. Then I can truly say I am done..

I am going to my SIL tonite to help her put up her tree, I love doing that with her, cause she has mostly all of the same ornaments from when the kids were little, and the memories flood thru.. The Italian Stallions well be there as well.. They have named tonite "The Tree Extravaganza" they crack me up.

Wow this is long.. I guess I had alot to say..

    :O)

  21. Jack is just about to cut down the tree I grew. Actually this tree grew so big I think he can top it and save the tree. I always feel bad when they are cut down after babying them for 6 years. That's their only purpose in life however. I plant another one in its place as soon as it is harvested. ( I get that word from FarmVille. ) My daughter and granddaughter are coming over to help me decorate it.

  27. Hi...

ZONA, You have more sex than anyone I know...or at least anyone that tells me....no, I was right the first time!! Hope you have fun at your party.

    TINA: Good for little MrT.

CAROL: I have a really nice Walmart by me too. I like to go at night as there is hardly anyone there and I can wander and find things I need and things I don't need.

Today started out bad....I had lunch plans with one of my closet friends at noon across town by her house. She works and is always so busy so I was happy we made plans. We were going to have a nice lunch (short) and then she was going shopping..all this was at noon. She called me at 12:30 to see if I was almost there (about 45 from me) and I was sound asleep. I couldn't believe that I didn't even hear the alarm right by my head. I am so mad at myself and I felt horrible She was very nice and then I had to call her back again because I am so sad to have missed our time visiting but I still feel like a bad friend. I am so thankful it was by her house and not between our places. She was already seated and drinking her beverage. She told the staff that I wasn't able to make it and they told her the drink was on them. I guess they felt bad that she was stood-up. Can you see how my guilt is getting the best of me?

I am now getting ready to go to indoor soccer game for the kids and dinner. I am trying to think what I can do to make it up to my friend. It also has made me grouchy to anyone around and that would be MRD!

MO: Thinking of you and hoping that all goes well in your job. Also wanted to say Happy Hanukkah to you.

  28. Hi hooters,

    Congrat on 1st today Zona!

It's a foggy, soggy day here. I don't think the rain has let up all day. Plus it's really cold!

I'm so behind in the blogs, been busy and working extra.

I have most shopping done... this year I did the cyber Monday shopping and it has all arrived. I need to box, wrap and get to the post office on Monday.

I have a couple small things left to get, like Starbucks gift cards.

I would like to send Christmas cards to you guys, if you would like, send me your address via Face Book, or Carol has my reg. email if you don't have it.

Went to a Christmas party last night and they served cranberry martinis. OMG!!!!!!!!

For someone like me who seldom drinks, I couldn't believe how good it was. I only had half a drink and my eyeballs were heavy.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

  29. Tinka So happy to see you here today. Wrapping the gifts is a lot more fun than schlepping around the stores.

SacBarb LOL @ Dead Lobster. I love their biscuits, too.

Carol The Extravaganza sounds like fun. I'm glad you had good success today.

Dianne_Van_Winkle_in_Denver I know you are disapponted but you need to forgive yourself. Maybe you could make a dinner date with her. You're bound to be up by then. ;)

EBJ Hmmm. Cranberry martinis sound very interesting. Soggy here, but not as stormy as I was expecting.

  30. Good late afternoon/early evening, owls! Yes, J/L and EBJ, it is certainly wet around here! We hid from the rain at the movies this afternoon and saw 2012. The science was laughable, the "thrills and chills" even more so, but still, not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon!

And now, off to a party. A Christmas party. A lesbian-hosted Christmas party!

Carol: Enjoyed your talky blog the other day, and all your goings-on today! My Christmas shopping is done, and I've decided to kill a lot of birds with one stone by getting everybody in Ontario (sis, bro-in-law, Mom, Pop, and bro-in-law's mother) tickets to South Pacific!

Dianne: I promise to stay away... for a while!

Tink: That must be totally kewl, to grow your own Christmas trees!

BTW, how is your Christmas pattern going to be different this year from last? Is everybody gathering at your place?

  31. Oh Di-Di~ my heart goes out to you.....I've done that a time or two....it's horrible...and I know how bad you feel....and poor Mr D~ (for real this time!~) cuz my hubby takes the brunt of it when I've done it~

Tinka~ you're so lucky(?) to have everyone shopping for you~

    EBJ~ will do~

Sacky~ ur card is still winning at our house~

well other son lost his game....but he actually played better then the other son~ oh well~

well....gotta go make sopa...hubby is making the beans and salsa....my mom overnighted her tamales to us and they arrived today~ :D

  32. J/L..I guess Zona. and two other people..maybe Tina and Carol? hmm...

I got a couple of gifts purchased today. Carol, you inspired me.

Dianne, I had a friend stand me up before and well, it happens. I am sure she understood. I think the best thing to do would be to make plans as soon as possible for the next time and give her a big hug when you see her and let her know you kicked yourself up one side and down the other. She'll understand. IT..and Shit happens.

  44. Tina - I know I am lucky but I would like to be able to walk with ease again.

Whabbear - Yes the entire family, about 25 of us will be at our house for Christmas dinner. Jack is doing the turkey and is very excited about that. I am really looking forward to Christmas Day this year. Thanks for asking.
I have grown my own tree for the last 14 years. I love babying them along. I have to feel that they are waiting to be Christmas trees or else I would feel bad when they are cut down. I guess it's the six year old that is still inside me.

Just Lin and East Bay J. I will send you my address. Please send me yours.

Good Night all owls everywhere and may the Christmas Spirit envelop you and keep you warm tonight. Love, Tinka

    Good Night everyone

  45. Mo~ I just watched MY superman...Jon Bon Orgasm~ At the end of his song, my daughter said, "He's so hot!~" I had a hard time not saying...."He's a walking orgasm!" lol~

    ReplyDelete
  46. TINK; I guess it would kind of be liking raising and naming a cow or pig (nothing personal MO) and then eating it.

SNL was pretty funny tonight. They have a lot to work with on the news this week with Tiger and I think that young Taylor guy is a cute kid. My granddaughters were picking out posters last night for me to surprise them with in their stockings of him. Hmmmm, maybe I should put them up here in my office until Xmas. JBJ was very cute (as usual) and you woman after him should be glad I'm not because I am older and more experienced ....BUT he is too short for me. I do like that he and John Elway are really good friends.

We are going to a Bronco party for the early game tomorrow so I hope I can remember to wake up in time to drive there. We might not win because we are playing against Tom Brady..not good for us.

Hope everyone is having a good night.
