From JBJ to Lady Gaga and all in between it was a fantastic show. My favorite of the evening was Pink, I have followed her music for many years now, and even tho some of her songs are very edgy, she can truly sing. The words to "Glitter in Air" have so many hidden meanings, they are so poetic and so true. When she wrote all the songs on the Funhouse album, she was going thru a breakup with her husband. You can tell in each song, her heart hurts, yet the words flow. When something is so deep inside the best way to express them is with words. And in her case, music as well.
Fantastic!
Glitter in the Air
Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care?
It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?
Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?
Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?
It's only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar
You called me sugar
Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar
You called me sugar
Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself
Will it ever get better than tonight? Tonight
***************************
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself
Will it ever get better than tonight? Tonight

YAY!!
ReplyDeleteOff to read and watch!
TINA: I don't usually watch awards shows..but I watched the Grammy's this year and thought they were great. This is such a beautiful song..I really like the lyrics and I thought Pink's performance was nothing short of magical..I loved it..and I noticed that Mr Z never took his eyes off the screen..ijs..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video today TINA..it was just as wonderful the second time around..
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteZona got first! Wohoo!
I love Pink. Another talented lady. Real talent can sing and write and understands music. So hard to find in some of the so called artists of the day.
J/L from yesterday. Ritchie is doing great! Talking up a storm. He said his first complete sentence a few weeks ago. Ready for it??
"I have to Poop!"
The kid is a genius I tell you! Already realizing the basics are so important to vocalize.
We are having a bit of a problem with teaching him that not every animal is a kitty however.
Good morning to LynnD and Zona#1!
ReplyDeletePink is so sweet... not what I expected. She proposed to her husband (a race car driver) whilst he was racing. She held up a sign when he drove past. He has a nervous tic which causes him to shake his head, and that's what he did when he saw the sign. Unfazed, Pink wrote, "I'm serious" on another sign. He saw it when he came round again, then threw the race to tell her, "yes".
The two are back together again. Last I knew, they were both doing philanthropic shows in Australia. So nice to see a positive role model. Thanks, Carol!
Good Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeletecongrats on 1st Zonabaaaaaaaaaaby!
Good morning my long lost sister lynn and Bona.
Love Pink! Not so much that I love her music as much as her personality. She is a woman who knows what she wants, isn't afraid to go after it and is loving and compassionate. The girl rocks!
Hope you all have a good day.
Beautiful voice....song....amazing performance....
ReplyDeleteI never really paid any attention to Pink....but I will now!
I seem to always agree with Lynn D and today is no different...smart girl!
Everyone is talking about the Grammy's this year....they did have a great show!
My Friend that I was going to visit Christmas until my other friend got sick called last night to see if I had watched. We have tentative plans for him to come down soon...he also knows Lisa and wants to see her.....and to help us along our present path.....but with school he doesn't have the luxury of time.....you know I say things like that and think "Lisa is the one that doesn't have the luxury of time....."
And I think I heard someone on the tv say that "We Are The World" is going to be done again as in the 80's.....only for Haiti instead of Africa this time....It raised 30m for hunger relief last time...
It was such a hit...it was a beautiful recording...so much fame and talent......Michael Jackson...Bruce Springsteen...Bob Dylan...Cyndi Lauper and Diana Ross...did the main vocals....Lionel...Stevie...Paul Simon...Tina Turner...Willie Nelson Dionne Warwick....Loggins and Messina....the list is just amazing.......takes a trip down memory lane and watch...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzw6GiqZyD0
I remember Bette Midler sarcastically joking that she was standing next to LaToya....lol
Oh! Good Morning!
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteI am watching my carpenter Allen put the finishing touches on my kitchen. He sure has a cute butt lol!
We have been waiting for the manufacturer to send the trim.
Pink did a great job on the Grammys. When I saw her covered from head to toe, I had a feeling it would all come off lol! What a bod! Now if G Clooney or BJ would only do that :O)
bbl must watch butt.....
Mr Z went to the doctor yesterday..the bandages were removed..and the doctor said that his finger is healing nicely..although it looked awful to me. He goes back next week to get the stitches out..until then I have to change the bandages every night..and based on last night's attempt..I sure know why I never became a nurse..ijs..
ReplyDeleteThanks again everyone for all the good wishes!
Ooops..I don't know why I thought the blog was written by TINA..sorry CAROL! I guess I was over excited about the chance to get FIRST..or I'm just a dork this morning..either one works.. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL@ MARY watching butt! :D
Hi LYNN, GOLDIE, BONACHI, MARY and DEEDEE!
CAROL - Great choice....I love Pink. I love that she writes her own material. Material that is very thought provoking!! And OMG....what a bod, and the balls to perform like that!!! Thanks for posting this, because I fell asleep Sunday night and missed her performance!! :O)
ReplyDeleteZONA - Congrats on 1st!! Glad MR. Z is doing better....:O)
LYNN - I love Ritchie's first sentence!!! With 2 (really 3....)boys in the house, I totally get why he would choose those words!!!
GOLDIE - How's your toe? Too bad it was snowing this morning, but quite frankly it must feel better than the bone chilling temps from last week!!
Waving a wing @ BONACHICHI & DEE DEE!! See?!!? I'm waving (gently) my broken one!!!
Happy Tuesday Owls.
ReplyDeleteCarol, Pink's performance at the Grammy's was nothing short of AMAZING! And apparently she was singing live while she was flying and doing all those contortions. No lip synching (sp?) for her. I have seen her on Ellen and she really impressed me with her outlook on life. She doesn't appear to be so full of herself like so many other celebrities.
Zona, You flew in at first probably still up from last night. I'm glad Randy's hand is healing nicely. I'm sure you do a great job playing nurse Nancy. (so much nicer than nurse Ratchett)
ReplyDeleteLynn, Yay for Ritchie, talking and pooping! My oldest thought every animal was a puppy and 'named' our kitten "Uppy"
Dee, I heard about the new recording of We are the World, too. They recorded it while everyone was in town for the Grammy's. It will be interesting to see if it has the same impact as the first one.
Jodi, Be careful waving that broken wing.
Mary, I know you will be suffering from withdrawal when all the hunky workmen are finally gone. :(
Goldie, I hope your toe is healing nicely.
Waving to all the other Owls. I hope you all have a good day.
I am sad to say that my kitchen is officially finished! No more handsome workers :( Hey but spring is coming and we need a new patio, new siding and maybe ......
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll think of something lol!!
Zona, I still {cringe} when you or someone else mentions Mr Zs finger!
Barbara, yes, I will b going into contractor withdrawals lol!!
Carol~ Oh my I LOVE Pink~ She is amazing! When she is happy, you know it....when she's sad, you know that too.......so comes out in her music! She's one tough cookie, yet soft at the same time~ She never ceases to amaze me~
ReplyDeleteZona~ congrats on first~
LynnD~ I have to poop, too~ :D
Bonachichi~ Who is her racer hubby?~
Goldie~ ya look a little saggy this morning~ ijs~
DeeDee~ Is your sex toy coming for V-day? :D
Mary~ So sorry ur sex toy is gone! :(
Jodi~ take care of that dangling limb~ (and what was that whorish noise on my phone this morning?) :)~

ReplyDeleteMary~ you haven't met Kole, have you! :)~
ReplyDeleteMARY - So sorry for the contractor withdrawals. I know....you can hop on MR. MARY!!! On the recliner!! ;)
ReplyDeleteBARB - Carefully waving @ you 2!!!
TINA - whorish?!!? ha!!! ♥ u 4!!!
Tina, is that anything like cola?
ReplyDeleteJodi, today is Jim's bowling & Casino day. The contractor is a cutie. He only lives a few miles from here. I wonder what shift his wife works? lol!!
ReplyDeleteK, I have to get off this 'puter and get busy cleaning out my basement. Trash day tomorrow. Anybody need junk???
ReplyDeleteomg! I love the QOTD!! Don't you, DeeDee? :D (thanks J/L)~
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Zona!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog yesterday Tina. I wish you much success and enjoyment in your new position as you found in the last one with your coworkers/friends.
Carol: I never got to see Pink's performance until now. It was absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the blog. I love the lyrics too. It is so nice.
I am a bit down because my son has broken it off with his girlfriend of 4 years. He is 22 and has never been "single" and only with her, so I think he wants to see what it's all about out there. I hope that they can work things out though. I really like her and feel like I have lost a part of the family!
I am heading out to go work out. Hope everyone is having a great day.
Bebbi~ How can he do that to you???!!!! lol....not fair, huh? I hope he finds what he's looking for....even if it ends up being her~
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, Ladies.
ReplyDeleteZona Congrats on being first today! I bet you are a fine nurse with a great bedside manner (tee hee). I'm so glad Mr. Z is healing well.
LynnD I LOVE Ritchie's first full sentence. You can tease him the rest of his life about that. LOL My son called all animals "Hoddy". Probably because our dog's name was Holly. As a toddler, he even pointed out a duck to a goat he was standing next to and informed him of the Hoddy in the water. LOL
Bonach Thanks for the little background story. That was cute.
Goldie I really like her personality, too. I sense that she's very loving but doesn't put up with any crap. Good for her!
DeeDee Wasn't that a great collection of singers that got together for "We Are the World"? I hope the current one is as interesting a mix of talent and that it raises a lot of money for Haiti relief.
Mary, Mary, Mary LMAO @ must watch butt.
Jodi Pink is no frail flower, is she. Her bod looks strong and sturdy and beautiful.
SacBarb Wasn't it amazing that Pink could actually sing while doing those gymnastics? LOL @ "Uppy"! So cute!
Tina They let you crochet during training? And they feed you tasty food? You've got it made, Girl!
Bebbi I'm sure it is a loss to your family, too. She must be almost like another daughter by now. Breaking up is hard to do, even if you aren't part of the primary relationship. I wonder if your son is being tempted by someone else right now. He is young to have had such a long relationship already. Maybe they will find their way back to each other someday.
Carol I missed one hour of the Grammys because I had to watch Big Love. What I did see of the show, I thought was definitely above par for award shows. The entertainment was superior...all except for the rappers, Eminem, et.al. Not only do I not like rap, I'm sick of the pants falling down and the hand cupping their junk and think it was pretty inappropriate to perform a song that so much had to be bleeped. They probably think they are really pushing the envelope and anti-establishment. To me, they just appear to not know how to behave at a formal awards show.
Pink's performance was spectacular but I don't think I would have liked being all dressed up and getting rained on.
ReplyDeleteBe sure u all watch AI tonight as it is in Denver and you "might" see me singing Put A Ring on it!!!
ReplyDeleteZona Baby!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1..
I just watched the vid again.. and love it even more.. her performance was great..
ReplyDeleteI heard about the We are the World remake.. I am excited to hear it..
Dianne...
ReplyDeleteLOL.. put a ring on it.. I did not watch AI 2nite.. sorry I missed your debut!
:O)
J/L..
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing.. all those ppl below her getting wet in their designer clothes..
Bebbi..
ReplyDeleteSorry about your son.. They do become part of the family, and its sad when they break up.. I went thru that with my eldest, before he met the girl he is to marry.. She had become part of the family.. and then poof she was gone.. I missed her for a long time..
Give him so space, he just might go back to her..
Mary..
ReplyDeleteYou have seen so many butts in these last months I am surprised they all don't look the same.. Actually you can prob recognize each one from their butt and not their face..
Nice way to say Howdy!
:O)
Tina..
ReplyDeleteYou are so right.. she comes across as so tough.. yet she can be so sweet..
Lynn..
ReplyDelete"I have to poop" LMAO.. I spit out my water..
Sooo funny!
Bonacci...
ReplyDeleteSweet story about Pink.. I did not know that..
Zona..
ReplyDeleteExcitement will do it every time.. It kinda gets ya in a frenzy..
:O)
it seems I am alone here..
ReplyDeleteso I will say goodnite.. and see ya all tomorrow..
:O)
Shirley..
ReplyDeleteI just remembered.. how is the job going?
And Shirley.. has any of your fish been affected by your job?
ReplyDeleteLOL
ok.. really going now..
ReplyDeleteMo. thinking of you..
Hi...I am off to bed too. Bad News./..I didn't get the golden ticket to Hollywood...boo hoo. Those darn judges don't know a good singer when they hear one.
ReplyDeleteMO; Where are you? I am missing you. Hope you are doing okay.
BEBBI: When I got divorced from my childrens dad, my parents were so sad to not have my ex around anymore and I just couldn't understand that. I can now when I think of my son or daughter not being with their spouse...I would be so sad as they are like my own children. Give your son time and just see where it goes and be glad he and the girl were not married.
Went to the movie today with my daughter to see that new movie with Harrison Ford. I can't remember the name but it was a pretty good movie and a true story.
Ok...off to bed....night all
Yes, MO, where are you?
ReplyDeleteDianne I sure hope your tooth (or non-tooth) is better now.
Sweet dreams, HOoters!
Just read all the comments... niters, all... Zona, good to hear about Randy... Dee Dee, you vagina you!
