This makes me smile

There is nothing better in my eyes, than a smile. It could be from a friend, a child, a stranger or just a :O) and my day will be complete. Whenever I hear this song, I smile, because the words are so true. I just found this vid on YouTube, I have blogged about this song before, but never saw the vid. So I wanted to give everyone a smile for the day. Hope you enjoy as I did, and of course smile!

  1. Almost forgot! I was practicing my yodeling....and if I hadn't gotten a call from a neighbor up the street checking on the noise I might have just kept yodeling......whew!

  2. Dee..

I was awoken by a strange noise, now I know what it was.. lol

  3. I thought we can all use a smile.. hence the vid.. I love this song..

When I got home last nite, my father filled me in with the news of the day, and this is what he said..

"What is going on in this world, Hawaii is having a salami, Argentina is having a earthquake, and China had a hurricane"

I stood there in disbelieve, then turned and cracked up.. Oy Vey!

I meant to post this last nite, but I feel asleep..

I am going to get out an about today, as I need some fresh air..

Hope all has a good day!

  4. Morning Glories!

    Deedee did it again! Congrats!

That was the sound I heard on my porch this morning! I thought it was the neighbors cats fighting.

Carol love this song. I had never seen the video before but it sure brings back childhood memories. Watching the local parade, fireworks in the summer and running around like a crazy fool. Loved it.

    From Area 51:

Tina I feel gipped. Everyone gets a screen? All I can say is I have an HMO Group Health, around these parts we call it Group Death. It seems you pay more for a minimalist approach and diagnosis. I guess I am lucky they ordered an ultra sound on Wednesday. Of course by then I will have passed all of these damn things but hey they made an effort.

It was suggested that I get a pnumonia shot. I was flabbergasted. I asked why in the world would I get that when I have never had pnumonia in my life? The answer because I smoke. Group Death now recommends we smokers get a pnumonia shot. SCREW that!

The real reason in my opinion is that we have to pay out of pocket for the damn shot. Bastards.

  5. Waving at Carol, Have a wonderful day and smile! Watch out for big Salamis!

  6. CAROL...smiles are def a universal language ;)

I think I need a new tv...mine didn't mention that Argentina had an earthquake and China had a hurricane! ;)

  7. Mo neither did mine but hey I always miss something! LOL

  8. LYNN...good morning! I always miss somethings, too! Now I am craving a tsunami sandwich!

How was the movie you saw yesterday?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I watched and I even listened to about the first 10 seconds of that video.....didn't make me smile....more like a wtf sort of grimace...

The singer(?)was certainly cute and cuddly....I'd like to bury my face in his stinker....

but in all seriousness...I have always wondered how ALL these singers......get the attention they get....Sure...they can carry a tune....but big deal! Their voices are common....not unique in any way......

I guess thats why I have never listened to the radio.....I enjoy a distinctive voice.....one that allows me to tell you what I like about it......

Josh Groban voice is so rich and solid......

OMG I listened to Trace Adkins and the West Point Cadet Glee Club sing "Till the Last Shot's Fired"....of course the glee clubs part was perfect.....Trace Adkins delivery wasn't perfect...but his voice is so gorgeous he did the song beautifully.....

If I am going to listen to a song...of any type...all I ask is that it is pleasing and impressive to my ears....

And thats just me....I know most folks are able to enjoy all kinds of listening experiences....such a the cutie pie singing here today....and all those popular singers like JBJ and such.....

Makes me wonder if something is wrong with my music appreciator or if I have finally found an area in which I am narrow minded....(clutches pearls)

Or can people like me be helped? Is there an 800 number I can call for help or a rehab where one can learn to accept mediocrity and enjoy it??

Cause you know I wanna be all I can be!!

excuse me now...gotta get back to work.....

just helps make my point....not everyone enjoys a good yodel!!

  11. I thought someone was stepping on a dozen cats' tails, but turns out it was just DeeDee yodeling.

Good morning, Hooters. Carol, beautiful song to make up for the Horrible Noise. Thanks!

  12. Now I've read the comments, I see I'm not the only one who is suffering temporary hearing loss, thanks to DeeDee.

There are all sorts of things that make a singer or band great. Sometimes is the singer (does anyone remember Freddy Mercury?), sometimes it magic on the guitar (Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton and yes, Richie Sambora), and sometimes it's a drummer who can reach your inner soul (Danny Seraphine). Sometimes though, it's someone who just puts a smile on your face.

If you have any inclination to make breakfast for us, how about some tsumani and eggs?

And congrats to your Canadian Olympians! They did awesome

  16. Tsumani, eggs, toast, coffee or tea for everyone!!!

  17. Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been really busy at work, then I come home and do more income taxes. Plus I've been trying to watch the Olympics and some of the stuff comes on late here on the Atlantic coast, so I've been tired. And it seems everything I've tried to do for mum lately has been wrong so I've kept my distance, but feel guilty for doing so.

Anyway, I've been reading the blogs and comments. Sorry to Carol and Tina that I haven't contributed anything in awhile. I'll just take myself over to the naughty mat and sit for an hour or so.

    ReplyDelete
  18. DeeDee. So that was you yodeling this morning. I thought it was our local salami warning blaring.

Carol. I'm typing on my phone so can't hear vid and have no idea what the song is. However, I def smile every time I read the word "salami". Your dad is priceless. :)

LynnD. They recommend pneumonia shots and H1N1 shots to those with compromised lungs, regardless if you have to pay for it or not. Honest. I got both as I used to smoke and now have asthma. I have an HMO but mine were free. I hope they can't refuse to treat you if you do et pneumonia now that you refused oreventative measures....ijs. The bastards might do that.

  19. My fingernails seem to miss the occasional letter on this freakishly small keyboard. I hope you all get what I was trying to say.

MO and Shirley. Waving at you both.

  20. Now I know why this baot was about to tip as it was rocking. They said it was a storm of 60mi per hour and the earthquake but now I know it was deedee yolding.bbl when I ever get home

  25. DeeDee! (i just deleted what I wrote and I'm starting over! :D ) there are a lot of great singers.....there are a lot of boring ones too....I think it's the whole package...there are a select few who are given the opportunity (song, look, presence, voice) to really shine! I've heard people sing and thought...yuck...but then they write or are given just the right song and it's an OMG moment for me~ but then my OMG moment isn't the same omg moment for someone else~ Trace Atkins is a fun guy to watch....and his voice is so different from anyone else out there....i think he's great~

Bonachichi~ I love to just watch Carlos Santana~

    Carol~ Thanks for the smile~

MoJo~ Let me know when you find the info on Argentina and China~

J/L~ I woke up with the taste of salami in my mouth~ hmmmmm~

Di~ Git ur butt home....I'm tired of ur bacashun!~

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh DeeDee~ does this mean...dare i say...that you are going to finally start working? wow!!!!~

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tina. I hope you aren't sampling salamis while Mr.T is south of the border. Hmmm...why does that sound like a threesome? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. Speaking of working, I have to go do that for a while today. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mo the movie was fun and light no thinking required and I do have to say Bruce Willis is the perfect straight man. He is one of the few people I have seen who can give you a face full of sarcasm just from one look. Cracks me up!

J/L the shots here are not covered. I don't see the need for the shots for me. It is liking asking for the crap. I do know that people with asthma and other issues are required to get them and that is fine with me. If I have problems then I will look at it again.

Deedee swear to god when I went out on my porch this morning there were two cats yodeling away. The dogs went bat shit crazy! LOL

Tina I am considering quiting I am just trying to figure out the route I should go. Can't use the patches as they give me huge blisters. Tried cold turkey the family threw cigarettes at me and told me to smoke. Can't take the chantrix as I have depression and it might end my life quicker by than the cigs. So I am researching thinking about lozenges and gum.

I can appreciate the great singers and also the fun singers. Many times it is not about the singer for me but the words being sung.

Did I hear that Tina was out sampling big Salamis???

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well I just read that post and I want it on record I am not Stoned! Just typing to fast. Have fun deciphering that mess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. not only big salamis....all shapes and sizes...my favorite: Hebrew National~

    ReplyDelete
  32. CAROL: It worked..I'm smiling! Thank you! :)

DEEDEE: Didn't yodeling start off as a way to communicate from mountaintop to mountaintop? Well, you must be very good at it..folks are hearing you from all over the country! I haven't been able to hear you because of the rain and thunder..maybe just a little louder please, if your yodeler isn't worn out? Or..are you doing something else now and I just think it's thunder... ;)...:D

LYNN: I still maintain that I got the flu for the first time in 5 years the year I got that damn shot. Never again..eventhough I have asthma. They aren't covered for us either..you have to pay some sort of co-pay.

    MO: What's on a tsunami sandwich? ;)

BONACHI: Freddie Mercury was fantastic..loved watching him as well as listening to him sing.

    SHIRLEY: Loved seeing your smiles!!

    J/LIN: Got it! :)

TINA: You're talking about Frank Sinatra when you say OMG moment..aren't you? ;)

DIANNE: Have a safe trip home..I'm happy to hear their was some boat rockin' going on..sounds like you might have found that salami..or did it find you? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Zona~ i think i just puked a little in my mouth!!!!~

  34. DeeDee, I do know what an Ibanez is; without looking it up. My impression is that they're considered exotic and a special treat to play.

Tina, are your children going to be locked in the broom closet the entire time hubby's away?

Shirley, woo-hoo!! Sorry you're so busy... You're everyone's hero this time of year. Howzat feel?

LynnD, that nicotine lust is a tough nut to crack. Everyone has their own way of doing it, I think.

  35. just because I don't "punch a clock" doesn't mean I don't work!!

just because I don't have a set schedule does not mean that I do not work!

    just because I do as I please...when I please...and as often as I please...does not mean that I...

well yes I guess it kinda does mean that I don't work.......

why should I? I don't do anything that I find disagreeable...

I have earned that right.....I've paid my dues...I've done my time...ok thats not exactly accurate either....

someone has to stay here and make run this place runs smoothly.....ALLRIGHT!! I DON'T DO THAT EITHER!!.......GAWD....!!
