Part One
Over a period of a couple years a group of women became friends over the Internet. Some had been able to meet in person, but most hadn't. A meet and greet was arranged for early May in Chicago. Everyone was buzzing with excitement, making plans to do this and that. Little did they know what was going on behind the scenes. One woman, Sally, was not able to attend the Chicago meeting...or so the others thought. She told them she would be working and didn't have the funds anyway. They were all sorry she couldn't attend but the plans for the trip continued.
As the weekend drew near to go to Chicago the women could talk about nothing else. They were all staying at the Vandercleven Hotel which was near the airport. They would all meet in the lounge area at 4:00 on Friday afternoon. Sally arrived at the hotel and checked in at 1:00 Friday afternoon. She checked with the hotel staff about her plans. Everything was as it should be. None of the others knew that the previous Fall her wealthy Aunt Delia Vandercleven had died and left the hotel to Sally in her will.
As the anticipated guests began to arrive and the hour of 4:00 approached, Sally got more and more anxious. Everything had to go according to plan. Nothing was going to stop Sally from showing these women what she really thought of them. Nothing!! This was a meeting Chicago would never forget.
To be continued....
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteHope everyone had a fantastic Easter!
Ummmm Shirley reading that I can't tell if Sally is going to give a nice surprise or turn into an axe wielding Biotch! Her last name isn't Krueger is it?
I can't wait for the to be continued.....
So my California friends had a shaker of a party yesterday. It was so loud even Zona heard it in her neck of the woods. This makes me very nervous as our area could be next.
Ok have to take my beauty off to the farms.
OMG- DEE DEE is coming!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Miss Lynn and all you hooters.
I can't wait for the second installment of the blog Shirley!!
I so wish you were going to be there too- and many more of the owls.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend- celebrating or not. My Mom stayed with us for the weekend, and yesterday we took her to brunch, followed by a little trip to a casino.
It is a class 2, so all the machines have a bingo card on them too that you have to play. I was showing Mom how to play a certain penny slot and we were sitting side by side at identical machines. Well, the Easter Bunny gave me a great surprise and I won $1000.00 on a 1 dollar bet!! Gotta love that Bunny...........
What a cliffhanger, Shirley! I can't wait to find out how it ends.
ReplyDeleteHappy #1 LynnD. Congrats to Goldie, she's paid for her trip now, and a big hello to all coming later.
(DeeDee saunters in back door singing to herself....drops new Hermes bag with diamond clasp on divan..
ReplyDelete"Chicago, Chicago that toddling town Chicago, Chicago I will show you around - I love it...Bet your bottom dollar you lose the blues in Chicago, Chicago The ...

Just dropping by on my way to Belles tap lesson....hope everyone had a nice "whatever you celebrated!"
Congratulations on your $1000 win Goldie!! Thats fantastic!
Who is Sally? The Vandercleven? I thought the meeting place was the Beaverhausen....oh well...Vandercleven...Beaverhausen....easy to confuse....
Goldie I can't really read your exclamation as to whether "DeeDees Coming" is a good thing or a bad thing in your mind.....lol....hope there is no "AXE" to grind there....
Oh well...gotta run...have a lovely day all.....
(grabs purse and sings to herself as leaving...."bet your bottom dollar you'll lose your head in Chicago...)
Huh, I read the blog and thought it was a clue that Shirley was coming. I was really hoping that was how the story would end.
ReplyDeleteGoldie do you have the scoop is Deedee coming? Did you just out her? Was it supposed to be a surprise? Fantastic about the 1,000 dollar Easter egg!
Waving at bonachichi!
Ok back to laundry and rearranging my FT farm.
I have no idea if DeeDee is coming- but Shirleys story sure made me think of her.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry DeeDee- I have no "AXE" to grind with you~~~ I was just exclaiming that it must be you and havoc will follow...lol
I have a STRONG feeling that if SHIRLEY is telling this story about Sally....then next chapters might not be so good.....and then we will never see BEBBI!!!
ReplyDeleteUm,mmm, DEEDEE---I see you totally skimmed over my comment/question that I am going to Houston and will be so near you that we could have a meet and greet. I could even bring you some snow from Colorado and maybe a Denver toaster...they are even more special than the ones you find in Houston or abroad. No....I did not call you a Broad....I said when you buy something "abroad".
Hello to LYNN (congrats on first), GODIE, BONACHICHI AND DEEDEE...I need to get ready for my fun day...pain meds here I come (sung to song from Funny Girl by Barbra Streisand)

Shirley~ I called my cousin Sally, and she ain't coming~
O Dear God!! Tina!! You frightened me!! I did a double take when I saw that you had changed your clothes...
ReplyDeleteah....since you didn't do any laundry....GASP!! is that outfit....you know.... soiled??
Or did you wash up some things for yourself and nobody else? Which makes me wonder....why aren't your kids doing their own laundry? I mean....you have them scrubbing commodes....why not doing the wash?? Poor babies.....treated like Cinderella!!
Dianne!! Of course when you come to Houston you MUST come to Bryan/College Station and spend a few days!! (I just don't want Tina to feel left out) Well for that matter we could fly out to SLC and have Pee-Wee with her!!
SHIRLEY - Love a cliffhanger...can't wait til the next installment!! Once again your imagination is at work....and I ♥ it!!! FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteLYNN - Congrats on first and prettiest!!!
GOLDIE - Once again, thanks for lunch and congrats on your winnings!!!

TINA - What are you making?
Tina, what a coincidence! I'm going to be in training this week, too. Would you like to come to MY class?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jodi... I was typing when you posted. I'm cleaning up loose ends. Tomorrow I take what I've written and hand it over to the people I'll be training. I just don't feel like I'm ready.
ReplyDeleteDeepak Chopra apologizes for starting mexacali earthquake on Twitter....
ReplyDeletehe tweeted....
"was meditating on Shiva mantra and earth began to shake. Sorry about that."
thats funny! can you imagine meditating and the earth starts to move......or if you happened to be praying at the time.....or...best of all...having sex...lmao...."oh yeah baby...I felt the earth move"...
the sister ship to the Queen Mary II....Cunards Queen Victoria... en-route from Dubai to Oman on her 90 day world cruise event out of NYC has pirate watercraft alongside and has been boarded by Somali pirates....
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to do one on April 1st so that was my APRIL FOOL!! joke...

Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY: ohhh..this sounds like it's going to be really good..I love a good thriller! I'm hooked..can't wait for the next chapter!
LYNN: Damn you're pretty today!
Our news stations were going crazy about that earthquake..a lot of people called in saying they felt it too. Hopefully there won't be any more shaking.
GOLDIE: Congrats on the win! I once won $64..but ended up losing it. I do have a lucky $5 chip I'm saving to use in Vegas someday. ;)
DEEDEE: I love when you sing a Frank Sinatra song! :D
DIANNE: Good luck today..I hope this is your last visit to the dentist for a long time!
BONACHI: I'd like to come to your class..this computer is driving me crazy! Of course I wouldn't understand a word that was said..but maybe I would learn by osmosis! ;)
TINA: You're very..pink..today! Special occasion?
JODI: I completed an entire workout and there were no snapbacks! ;)
Oh good Lord, Shirley..not I am really scared! LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first most beautiful LynnD.
Happy Monday Owls. I hope you all had a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteZona, It was on the news here that the earth shook in Phoenix. I thought it was just you and Mr. Z celebrating Easter until they said it was a 7.2 earthquake centered in Baja. My son in San Diego said it shook for over 30 seconds.
Dianne: When you go to Houston, go to Antones Subs and have their smoked turkey sub..with provolone and sweet pickles..omg, it is the BEST. Hubby usually brings me home one every time he goes to Houston. I had one for dinner last Monday night. Also, when I go in February and we drive, I usually get a jar of their sweet pickles to take home. YUM! OMG, now I need one.
ReplyDeleteShirley..I said "not I am really scared" and I meant NOW..I am really scared! I tell you, this flu thing is getting worse.
ReplyDeleteGoldie!! How NICE..congrats on the win. I bet that was exciting!!
ReplyDeleteLOL DeeDee, "Honey, we must have had an earthquake because I felt the earth move" I am going to use that line!!
ReplyDeleteShirley, did you recently come into some $$$? Is your middle name Sally? I can't wait to read the next installment of this riveting story.
ReplyDeleteLynn, Your greeness is particularly perky this fine Monday.
Goldie, How great that the Easter Bunny was so generous. Does that mean you are buying drinks in Chicago?
DeeDee, Your imagination is limitless...that IS your imagination working, isn't it?
Tina, They don't care if you crochet in training class?? Or are you making something cool for the trainer?
Jodi, Love your spring outfit. ♥
Di, Hoping your dentist takes pity on you today and doesn't hurt you.
Bonachichi, have you whipped that computer into submission yet?
Waving to all the other Owls. Have a good day everyone.
Afternoon everyone!
ReplyDeleteLynnD,You are so lovely today :)
Shirley, Should we bring protective armor to Chi Town? I will have to check out the dungeon at the Manor.....
Goldie!!! How wonderful! Good for you!
DeeDee,if you are bringing your Hermes bag you may need some protection....from ME! LOL!!!

ReplyDeleteJODI: The does make me smile and hope they keep winning all the way thru the World Series!!
ReplyDeleteZONA: Going to another one tomorrow. What would a week be without appointments.
The wind is blowing like a tornado and the car was shaking on the road home. I am grouchy as I went to the ATM to get some cash and I must be in Novocainville as it did not like my pin number and after a few times the friggin' thing took my card. I had to go into bank and of course they won't tell me my number and they will mail it to me in 5 days...at least it was daytime and I got my card back. I hate to be stupid but today must be one of those days.
The good think today is that I made split pea in the crockpot before I left and it smells yummy. I am going to do some paper work and they lay down for awhile. We are getting new dining room chairs and they are being delivered around 6 so I think I am in for a small nap.
DEEDEE: I just wanted to meet for lunch...nothing too much...you up for it?
oh yes, oh yes, Oh yes, *Wink at Jodi* OH YES, OH YES< ohhhh YES!
ReplyDelete*waving madly back at Mary*

Dianne, I feel your pain... kind of. I cracked a filling on a protein bar. Not nuts, not ice, but a flippin' protein bar. Does that really happen??
ReplyDeleteDeeDee, the first memory I have of you is telling everyone to call 1-800-MY-PUPPY. You little snot, I called that number!! Chopra and pirates! I'm not taking that bait. Shut UP, Tina!!
No Tina, my class will be exciting and stimulating! I will be showing a group of programmers how to write an editor for SQL files using Visual Studio and .NET. Stimulating indeed! After, as a special treat, we are going to watch some ice melt!

MARY - Still working on those lyrics. Frank was in the store this morning and said he would get them for you!!
ReplyDeleteDEE DEE - Working on getting the link so you can watch Going Great White for free online!!
I have decided that Dianne really does not have teeth issues...that is all just a smoke screen for the torrid affair she is having with the dentist, the oral surgeon and hygienist.
ReplyDeleteI see you are all in fine form today. You are cracking me up. :)
PS Tina I just had a flash of you crocheting and I have to say it had shades of Madam Defarge knitting away while people lost their heads. Creepy! I bet she wore a fascinator to!
Jodi I want that link too! (Waving)
ReplyDeleteI think I have my too's and to's mixed up. The older I get all of that english word learnin and sentence diagramin is slippin away.

ReplyDeleteOf course you do Tina.. you would.
ReplyDeleteLynnD, I think you are right. IT'a all a cover, Dianne is having a hot and steamy love affair with her dentist..OMG, why didn't I figure it out. Her lover gives her the details so she can post it on here to make her huge cover look "real"....wow, it's such a big conspiracy. Poor Mr. Dianne..he has no idea. :(

Ah, Dianne's doing the teeth people? One at a time or is there an n-some going on?
ReplyDeleteI love love LOVE the to, too, two words for spelling bees! Put a shock dog collar on the contestant and give 'em that word. No way they can get it right. Then, zzzzzap!! Tons of fun!
When's the next installment of Mystery Owls?
ReplyDeleteLet's see... maybe the next episode will involve a super-soaker, banana peels and craft supplies?
I think I fixed my cracked filling. I don't like the dentist.
Hey, HOoters. Sorry it took so long for me to land in the nest today. I actually did some work, did some exercising and had dinner with friends.
ReplyDeleteShirley I love you story! I hope Sally has a nice suprise in store for us.
LynnD I'm so glad to see your little green self survived Easter and you weren't accidentally eaten.
Tina Don't say it. LOL
Goldie OMG! How fun for you! I am never, ever that lucky. Have any plans for your winnings, besides buying us a round of drinks, that is. :)
Bonach Have fun training the trainees. Do you make them wear shock collars in case they nod off?
DeeDee I hope you checked your purse for any hitch-hiking crawfish.
Dianne I feel so bad for you and all your dental troubles. I hope your dentists are at least nice to look at, I mean if your spreading your lips for them and all.
Jodi How's your arm doing?
Bebbi I hope you are about done with that darn flu bug. And don't be scared of us either, okay? I'm sure none of us are super weird, just a little bit weird. :)
Zona Snapbacks? Okay, I'll bite.....what kind of workouts would those be?
Carol When you're done with that bunny, please send him my way, okay?
SacBarb Yikes! 30 seconds is a long time when you're having an earthquake.
Mary How are you feeling? I hope you're healing well. I wish I could have my whole body sculpted.
MO It's going to be fun in Chicago. The scariest thing will probably be trying to get us all to dinner on time.
Okay....the comment that appeared above mine is downright creepy.
ReplyDelete
