Hold it Together

by Jodi

My friend Frank made this video. It is his audition piece for Project M. Frank is extremely talented. He has written over 200 songs. Some of which has been recorded by local artists. He is also a film maker. Going Great White was released 2 years ago, and Lake Jimmy will premier this summer.

Franks is married and has 6 daughters. He calls them "his ladies"!! I think he is a true Renaissance Man.

ENJOY!!!

Jodi his lyrics a beautiful. I am a lyrics person and his are very good and strike a chord. I love that he has 6 daughters and calls them his ladies. What is it about musicians that makes them so damn cute?

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Good morning Bebbi you are lovely this Easter morning!

  10. It's one of those songs that you just have to listen to again because it has such depth in the lyrics. Really love it.

Bebbi, you're particularly lovely this morning and Jodi, you're glowing as well!

I can't watch the vid because my computer has gone temporarily insane. We are working with authorities to get the damn thing to snap out of it.

It is such a beautiful day here in NJ.. my SIL has a outside deck, so I will be spending lots of time outside, which makes today picture perfect..

Congrats on 1.. I saw your Easter pics on FB.. your table looked divine.. :O)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Carol: LOL, that was last year's table. I thought I would not create a new album and now I have confused everyone. I put 2009 with the 2010 pics. All that is new on that page was the eggs we colored last night. Table's not set yet for Easter this year. :)

  21. Good Morning all....

    Happy whatever ur doing....

I'll be her at home....Belle and I...alone...in the dark....prolly listening to some sad arias...Rigoleto is playing now...

Everyone is off....of course. So the house is silent except for the music...and the sound of an occasional tear dropping...

I found a package of sandwich meat..."olive loaf".....it has a date on it...Oct-2008....I guess thats when it was made....was that a good year for "olives?"

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bebbi. Congrats on being the first cute bunny in the nest today.

Hodi. I can't see the vid on my BlackBerry but will get to the computer later.

DeeDee. ROFLMAO! The sound of the tear dropping really put it over the top. You should write a column somewhere; I don't know where, but somewhere.

Maureen. It looks like I will be spending the day alone, which is fine by me. I've never made a big deal of Easter. Going out for Chinese food is a brilliant idea. I may do that.

LynnD. I think musicians seem so cute because, like poets, they say words to us that you would usually never hear your average man utter.

Bonach. If you're having trouble with your computer, what chance do the rest of us have?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Carol. Didn't mean to ignore you. Have a great day with the family today.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, DeeDee... Embrace the alone time. Spit out the Olive Loaf and go get some Weinerschnitzel with Belle.

Just_Lin, I drove my poor computer insane. I bid 40 hours for a job. Got it Friday, the client wants it Tuesday. The rushed coding has caused some memory leaks which are stepping all over the background apps. I just can't get excited about conquering it today.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jeez DeeDee - You make me feel bad for you today. I wish you had family around you all day and that they were driving you crazy like mine are...haha. :) Well, just the hubby is driving me crazy today. So far. Mom is coming at 4pm.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Bonachichi and Happy Easter or Passover or Spring. Hope your day is going well, sounds like a big project you have to dig into. Fun, fun.

MO: Orange chicken, cashew chicken..Yummy! I bet there will be lots of laughter at your table! :D

CAROL: Have a great time with your family...it sounds like a little piece of Heaven! :)

DEEDEE: Now how could you shed a tear with cute little Belle at your side? Well, maybe over the olive loaf..yuck..

J/LIN: Get yourself on over here for dinner..there's plenty..including JODI's apple crisp.. :D

    HI BEAR! Enjoy! :)

So much time and so little to do..wait..strike that..reverse it.. :D

    SWAK! :)

  30. hello again!!

when I was writing my "pity post" I forgot to comment on Jodi's friend Frank....WHAT A MAN!!

Talented...good looking....charming....Jodi! Where have you been hiding Frank? Prolly "happily" married too isn't he??!

I'd love to see Lake Jimmy....how do we get it??

    ReplyDelete
  31. Actually folks.....this evening I am going to a Crawfish Boil with a couple hundred of my closest friends...lol

No...its a local families annual event and I didn't go the last 2 years in a row but this year I would like to show off my new neck.....so I will run by for a little while and see enough people to get them talking and then exit stage left.....

I just have to remember not to sit down...makes my eyes bug out...

oh! and btw....I would never in a million years eat a stinking...pinching crawfish....they are handled in such a large quantity...alive..at this thing...that several escape or are dropped only to run around the crowd scaring children and old ladies with that pincher in the air....I swear I have heard them hiss but I am told they don't do that....but if one of the little red devils runs up and hisses at me I have a gun and I know how to use it!

    ReplyDelete
  32. DEE DEE - Frank is actually a classmate of mine!! And yes, he IS happily married. I was asked to be in a focus group for Lake Jimmy....so I have seen a rough cut. Can't wait to see the finished movie @ the premier!! Lake Jimmy hasn't been released yet, but I would be happy to get you a copy of Going Great White!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. ZONA - Project M is a "reality" show sponsored by a local radio station for song writers. I haven't heard yet if he's made the cut!!

Jodi~ for some reason the sound on this computer isn't working....told the hubby, but he didn't seem too concerned...something about not having to hear the animals on my farm or the ocean on my island~

    Happy Easter to everybody~

  36. Hello Everyone!!

Hope your Sunday has been a Blessed one, no matter how you celebrate!

Have any of you been involved in watching "Lily the Black Bear" on either You Tube or through FaceBook?

Tonight on Animal Planet, Dr. Lynn Rogers, will be profiled with his research project, through Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

I have been watching since Lily gave birth to her little Cub, Hope, back in January. They left the Den this week to go out on their own. It was quite the teary scene to see them finally leave and not come back.

Our own Bon'O got me started. I can hardly wait to see the documentary. Check your local listing for Animal Planet, Wild Kingdom.

Here on the West Coast it starts at 4:00 pm, but I think it is on at 7:00 Central and Eastern. I think your kiddies, grandchildren, and anyone else who has a soft spot for any wild animals will enjoy this.

Anyway, hope you are all quite stuffed from your Family Holiday Dinner, and now you can sit back and relax and have a wonderful evening.

    Peace & Love to all,
Donna Jean, Laurie Elizabeth & Olive Elizabeth <3

  39. Happy Easter/Passover/Life/Spring to everyone!!
Jodi, I loved his vid! I googled him and got this...

    Frank X. Sommers
    "Going Great White"

Frank X. Sommers, writer, director, editor
    Frank Caruso, writer, director, editor

    Recorded Dec. 10, 2008.
    The film

Suppose the funniest movie of the year didn't come from Hollywood. Suppose it came out of the middle of nowhere or maybe the middle of Wisconsin. Two filmmakers, Frank G. Caruso and Frank X. Sommers, with nothing more then a shoestring budget and tearing a page out of the Christopher Guest book of comedy, have crafted a deft satire of the American Dream, skewering everything from homeschooling to fitness programs to the funeral industry along the way. Going Great White is a zany journey into the desperate world of pyramid sales schemes. It's "Best In Show" meets Amway.

I am trying to find the lyrics to the song in the vid. If anyone finds them please paste here for me.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bebbi congrats on "beauty-of-the-day"

DeeDee,I would never touch crawfish eeek! Tina must not mind claws and buggy eyes staring at her while she is eating it! I will keep a close eye on my appendages in Chi Town!!

Mo, I love Chinese! My fave is pressed duck, if done right. At least they remove the bill and eyes lol!!

Carol, I hope your nap has left you refreshed!

Hi Donna, good to see you hear! Hugs to you,Laurie Elizabeth & Olive Elizabeth!! Wish you were going to Chi Town, but I understand why it would be hard for you. Hopefully someday I will make my way back to Cali.

    Waving at Bonacchi,Zona,LynnD,Justlin, & Whabbear!!!

  42. Jodi I'm now on my computer and was able to hear the song. I love the lyrics! I definitely think he should make the cut and even win. Thank you for sharing him with us.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tina, I think a 6.9 would be considered "big" !!

    ReplyDelete
  44. DeeDee I ROFLMAO @ your eyes bulging out when you sit down! I hope everyone admires your new neck but they may not notice, what with the eye popping problem and all.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wow!! We were watching TV when I felt the sofa shake. I looked into the dining area and the light fixture over the table was swinging back and forth. We turned on CNN and they were reporting that there was a magnitude 6.9 earthquake near Baja Mexico! I knew it had to be a pretty big one for us to feel it here. I sure hope no one was hurt and that damage wasn't too bad. Scary stuff.

TINA: I hope your family in CA is ok!

MARY: "Going Great White" was not only funny, but clever.

    HI DONNA JEAN!

    ReplyDelete
  46. TINA: I'm glad your family is ok..I should have scrolled up before I hit publish.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mary I think 6.9 is considered fairly big, too....ijs

Tina Glad that pesky earthquake didn't rattle your mom.

Shirley I just saw QOTD. Thanks! :)

  48. Oooh, I got 50! Is Jennifer still giving away her husband as a surprise or does she keep him on holidays? LOL

Bear Happy Easter! It's been raining pretty good all day, here, and is really coming down heavy now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Okay....laughing at myself big time! I meant to ask if Jennifer was still giving away her husband as a prize not a surprise....well, I guess it would be a surprise to him. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. MARY - I have connections...I'll see what I can do about the lyrics!!

ZONA - My cousin Stan felt it. He's in Oceanside!!

TINA - I couldn't imagine why the hubby wouldn't want to hear your farm animals. You're on there so little and all.....;)

SLIN - Glad you enjoyed the song. And lol @ surprising DEAN!!!

  51. Waving a wing @ DONNA JEAN....:O)

  54. Back from the buffet. Sooo stuffed!

I once had crawfish pasta at an Olive Garden years ago. I would never order it, but since I was on an expense account I thought I would try something different. YUCK! I was so sick all evening from it! I don't even want to see them in the seafood section at the store!!

Then again, I don't like seeing the lobsters, either!

JUST LIN...if you loved here you could have become an honorary cousin and joined us.

MARY...never had the pressed duck, but maybe someday I will try it.

TINA...glad your fam is ok. 69, I mean 6.9 is a BIG one

    ReplyDelete
  55. I just read the quake was upgraded to a 7.2...damn, that's huge

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ladies and Bear!!!

6.9 is pretty big in my book! Even better if its a good handful!! Add a nice pair of after-shockers and a Viagra cocktail and BA DA BING BA DA BOOM!! Oy! Hot Easter! Hot Easter!

Jodi!! I Gotta see "Going Great White!!"...please hook me up....

    ReplyDelete
  57. I am about 30-45 minutes from Tina's Mum & Dad... We barely felt the quake here in SoCal; Maybe towards San Diego it was stronger, but here, no problem.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I used to date a gentleman who was from Louisiana and he used to suck the heads of the crawfish. Me, I wouldn't go near them. Don't you guys know crawfish and lobster are members of the same family as cockroaches?

    ReplyDelete
  59. DeeDee, must be your zorch hasn't been fulfilled lately. You are sounding mighty "hungry", if you get my drift!
Well, actually, you are making ME "hungry" lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I want to see "Going Great White" too..how do we find it?

    ReplyDelete
  61. couple of weeks Mary.....but it wouldn't matter....seems the older I get the more I want....

If it keeps up at the rate its going I can't imagine what I'll be like in 5 years!!

I guess I'll be walking around with my tongue hanging out and my hand in my crotch all the time dry humping every man I see....!!

Bonachichi.....thats the deal....you suck the head.....you should have seen this party earlier.....beautiful tents....gleaming silver domes over platter after platter....formally attired waitstaff....just a stunning sight!!

And underneath all those gleaming silver domes?? Filthy stinking mud-bugs!!

I was talking to some "neck admirers" and all of a sudden you could hear this kid screaming bloody murder...scared me breathless...and the others....I thought a wasp had stung her but we got to her and there was one of those damn crawfish raring up at her... pincher in the air...
and I thought....what a horrifying sight for a 2 year old..... well DeeDee took care of that old med-bug....I just set my glass over it and gave it a piece of my mind.....she thought that was so funny....I woulda shot it but I didn't want to add to the childs upset.....I'm just sweet that way....

  64. Hi everyone and hope you all had a good day regardless of what you did or celebrated....

We had a nice dinner in the mountains at a quiet place with good food. It was a change for us this year but a good change although I was still thinking about those dress up brunches we went to for years when my parents were alive. My dad would always get a corsage and even as a child he would get me one and then think I should wear it to school the next day. I would wear it and then take it off on the bus.

JODI: Nice video and song. YOu will have to keep us updated on your friend. Did you learn the words to Easter Parade yet?

BEBBI: Lucky you first on Easter.

Oh DEEDEE, I was crying for you until I read your next post and btw, I will maybe be going to Houston near the end/middle of May...can I come to your house for a visit? :)

It sounds like everyone had lots to eat today...me too. We promptly both fell asleep in our recliners when we came home from dinner. I think we are really getting old.

My husband got the new IPAD yesterday and I haven't hardly talked to him since. It is nice to not have the TV on all the time as he is a true computer geek. He was beside himself with excitement yesterday to go and get it. He was not one of those people in line all night as he had already reserved his weeks ago. He even took it to dinner to bore I mean show everyone the thinks it can do. Seriously, it is funny to see him so excited.

TINA: I was thinking of your parents when I read about the earthquake...glad they are okay. ZONA: I am surprised you were able to feel it where you live...wow.

I go for my final part 2 of my root canal tomorrow...can't wait for those shots!!!

Hope you all have a good evening.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Glad everyone is ok, with the quake.. wow Zona, you felt it in AZ..

to many quakes and flooding happening, it is quite scary..

We had tons of food, I did not think I overate, but my tummy did, so I had no dessert, and there was so much of it. In a way, its a good thing, cause my tummy grumble always lets me know when its time to stop..

And I know tomorrow afternoon I will be wishing for some of that food and dessert.. but I am a quick thinker.. and brought home left overs..

We had fun.. my nephews crack me up.. It was certainly a good day..

    Dianne..
Good luck tomorrow.. I sure hope for you this is it..

    ReplyDelete
  66. Dianne.. Forgot to say.. I heard the IPad is great.. your hubby must be having a ball..

  69. DIANNE & CAROL: I know!! We lived in California for ten years, so I knew immediately it was an earthquake. Mr. Z went into the other room to get the phone..I asked him if he was calling his sister who lives in So. Cal..he said no, he wanted to call CNN and tell them we felt the earth move in AZ. I told him that CNN probably didn't care.. ;)

MO: We used to catch crayfish by a stream near our house in PA..they smelled awful! I could never eat those things..with their little pinchers and all..yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Diane, good luck on the DDS tomorrow. Shots, eek! I had a bunch of them in my tummy last week to freeze all my fat before it was melted and sucked out lol!!

Slani. Thank you again for the dekicious dinner.

DeeDee. I've never had crawfish. I love lobster tail but don't want to see the whole critter on my plate.

Carol. I'm just the opposite; like apple pie but don't eat apples.
