Cash For Clunkers

by SacBarb

IF MY BODY WERE A CAR...

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish, and my paint job is getting a little dull. But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus, and it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose
veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But here's the worst of it --

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or laugh, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.
CASH FOR CLUNKERS..........I QUALIFY -

  4. SacBarb: LOL!! Love it..sounds like it's just a vehicle. A well loved and happy little vehicle. All those dents and problems are just from all the good use. :) Have you had an oil an lube lately? *wink* I know, I sure could use one. .....! Well, occasionally the ice princess gets the urge.

I am having deja vu with this vehicle stuff.

I went for a walk at lunch today, my neighbor who is a sweet retired teacher, was complimenting me on how much weight I have lost. He said sometimes when he sees me get out of the car, he thinks I am my daughter. How sweet is that. :)

I know it's a long road but it is so worth it to make better choices in my life in regards to my vehicle. Barb, you can do it too...it really feels good.

  6. Lynn, nice to see you in all your loveliness today. In my case, ALL my headlights are out of focus. One eye is blinder than the other and the others...well, they don't match either!

Are you still at the ocean? I'm so glad you are getting some R & R and anything else you can get.

  13. BARB: LOL! It seems that ever since I turned 40 I've been falling apart one piece at a time..first the knees..then a tooth cracked..I need stronger glasses every year..I don't like this aging thing so much! When Mr Z asks me if I need anything from the store..I always tell him to get me a new knee..if only!

The second paragraph was me just a little while ago..I might have to give up this sock slidin'.. :D

LYNN: Hello Gorgeous! That little vacation has made you more beautiful than ever! :)

We're supposed to have more thunderstorms today..the ones last night ripped big holes in the roof of Cardinal Stadium. Wind gusts were reported to be over 75mph! Good thing I slept through it! See..there's one good thing about being an old fadoo..lol..

Time to hit the pool..and hope it doesn't hit back! Have a nice day everyone!

  18. Hey there hooters!
I went to the 3rd night of our "Idol". Oye vey! I kept looking for Simon Cowl to pop out! I felt for the judges. They always managed to give positive and encouraging remarks to all the contestants. We all waited to hear about this one gal who sadly had no redeeming qualities. It was short. "your strength lies in your enthusiasm". She had no clue how bad she was, prolly best.

SaBarb, lol, no elephant ear tonight. Someone who shall go nameless, Bebbi! suggested funnel cake. I had never had it before so I checked it out. I am so fricken weak! One more day at the fir for the Idol finals tomorrow. I will be strong , I will be strong!!!!

    Bebbi, area 51..oops lol!!

  26. Mo.. I hope JoAnn is doing ok.. I have not asked you lately.. sorry, kinda been in a "carol" world.. Looking forward to the day when things calm down a bit.. than I can be me again.. :O)

  27. CAROL...you don't have to apologize for being in a CAROL WORLD. You have a lot to deal with and in my opinion you are dealing with it with grace.

Thanks for asking about Joanne. She is still in the Nursing home. I have removed myself a bit. Only visit on weekends. I am still spending a lot of time with Sharon, staying there a few nights a week. She likes having company and having another person sleeping in the apartment. I am going to pick her up tomorrow afternoon then we will visit Joanne for a few hours. I'm going to stay over, as a friend of hers invited us to brunch on Sunday.

As for Joanne, she was at the Radiologist today and was marked for her radiation. She was also released today to 25% wt. bearing so her therapy will increase. She will increase her wt. bearing status 25% each week. We hope she will complete her radiation while still in the Nursing home so if there are adverse side effects, there are nurses to help her. I hope she really goes thru with it.

I am angry with so many of my cousins (her neices and nephews) as no one has bothered to even call her since she has been in the home. I posted a bitchy status on FB and finally a few people called her. Why did it depend on my kicking them in the ass? Pisses me off to no end.

Aren't you glad you asked? LOL!

Enjoy your day off and soak up that sun!

  28. Mary, I have never had a funnel cake or an elephant ear. Our State fair is ending this weekend, and I have no plans to go, so I guess I won't have any this year either. Maybe next year.

  29. Mo, How sweet of you to say I am a classic. However, I could use some restoration and I am also pretty rusty.

It's good to hear that Joanne has agreed to the radiation. I pray it is successful.
