Just me...

so you kinda wonder
where have i been
well i am here
 just moving with life

did not realize how crazy things
can get
i guess my life was so complacent
it just moved with me
everything had a time and place
and mostly all went according
to the world of me

and then, well some sort of explosion
occurred, not the kind with smoke and fire
just the kind where you're swimming
in an infinity pool which we
all know has no end

weddings, showers, death, sickness
all rolled into one
how do we know which one to deal
with first or do we deal with them all

they say, one day at a time
i believe it
just have to figure a way to do it

  4. Ya know, Dee, I think you may be right, "a hour at a time" perhaps this way it is not so overwhelming..

    and

Steve Jobs is announcing something today about the Iphone, do u think it has to do with the reception thingy?

  5. Good morning Dee Dee! Congrats on being 1st!

Did Belle have a birthday party?

Carol, you just have to deal with what comes. What else can you do?

I'm not sure if it's better, for lack of a better term, to get all the crap over with in one time period, or have it happen slowly over a long period.

I hope that things will be back more normal for you now.

Did you ever get some help at work?

SacBarb, we got up to 101 here yesterday.

My little weather app says it should be 97 today.

I hope everyone has a nice day today. I must go get ready for work!

  12. Morning Glories!

Oh Ho, I see the Island Robber Baron got prettiest today! Very Pretty!

Carol, I can so relate to this blog. Looks like my life may be making several changes in the next few months.

I feel like I am treading water right now, just trying to figure out which way to go and which change to tackle first.

Life seems to be going just fine one day and then BAM (as the prettiest one is prone to write) it takes a turn. The questions are, will it be a turn for the better? A turn for the worse? or, Just a turn in a new direction? Only time will tell. In the mean time I just lose sleep. :)

  13. one little request and now I am the "Island Robber Baron" and the "Dreaded DeeDee".....ga! Ya try to be nice!! Geez!

I actually thought I would entice people to play Tiki Resort and Bonacci adds to the thread by saying this will be remembered as the Tiki Tragedy of 2010!

    Carol.....Steve Jobs must be addressing the reception problem...I saw a script given to Apple employees instructing them on what to say when people call complaining about the reception issue.....this is it;

    1. Keep all of the positioning statements in the BN handy – your tone when delivering this information is important.

    a. The iPhone 4’s wireless performance is the best we have ever shipped. Our testing shows that iPhone 4’s overall antenna performance is better than iPhone 3GS.
    b. Gripping almost any mobile phone in certain places will reduce its reception. This is true of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and many other phones we have tested. It is a fact of life in the wireless world.
    c. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 3GS, avoid covering the bottom-right side with your hand.
    d. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 4, avoid covering the black strip in the lower-left corner of the metal band.
    e. The use of a case or Bumper that is made out of rubber or plastic may improve wireless performance by keeping your hand from directly covering these areas.

    2. Do not perform warranty service. Use the positioning above for any customer questions or concerns.

    3. Don’t forget YOU STILL NEED to probe and troubleshoot. If a customer calls about their reception while the phone is sitting on a table (not being held) it is not the metal band.

    4. ONLY escalate if the issue exists when the phone is not held AND you cannot resolve it.

    5. We ARE NOT appeasing customers with free bumpers – DON’T promise a free bumper to customers.

Whoopi Goldberg....you know the lady on The View who has no racist friends...ie Mel Gibson ranted and smashed her Iphone4 over a very important dropped call. I think it was yesterdays show....

  14. Well I see Steve Jobs got his instructions from me....about Tiki Resort AND his new iphone4...

ok...Steve Jobs has relayed the instructions to the world.....

free bumper cases....which I would buy anyway...to protect the phone...

Peeps who already bought bumpers get a refund.....

he also said the problem had been blown out of proportion....

but to me the problem was that he was about to be handed his ass on a plate if he didn't stop stonewalling...lol

Consumer Reports says its the best smart phone by far....

    yup...they got their instructions too...

Chalk up another one for DeeDee and mass communication....

Next on the agenda...my corn money!!

  15. Lovely DEEDEE at first today...

CAROL; Soon your life will have to calm down and work itself out. I know it is very hard for you right now but I am glad you have some fun things in there too. I think weddings are so fun. We have a big family one next weekend to go too. We will stay in a hotel for a couple of nights and my two granddaugters are both in it. I know you are having fun with you nephews plans and they are nothing but fun....so look ahead and maybe the day will be easier.

Morning to EBJ, DEEDEE, CAROL AND LYNN. Afternoon to the rest of you owls.

DEEDEE: My husband has the new iphone and the case and has no issues and loves it...so far and he is a tecky guy. Maybe he was just one of the lucky ones.

Time to get back to laying down and get the boot off. Everone have a good day.

  16. I would love to have a vacay with Steve Jobs. On an island of cannibals. No doubt he's smart, but can he run?

Carol, you've handled yourself admirably through everything. Life isn't about complacency; there's plenty of time for that when you're dead. Feeling; good or bad means you're alive.

    ReplyDelete
  17. People are also saying the iPhone is cursed. It is the "iPhone 4". In China, 4 is unlucky cuz it sounds like "death". In Chinese. Apparently. How would I know?

Anyway, there are often no 4th floors in buildings, people don't want 4's in their phone numbers or on their number plates. This is as good a scientific explanation for the iPhone problems as Steve Jobs' explanation(s), which are subject to change without notice.

My guess, Robber-Baron DeeDee has a beef with Jobs and has made an iPhone voo-doo doll.

  18. Happy Friday Owls.

Carol, I was thinking just what Dee said, one hour at a time. I have often had to use that philosophy. I hope things smooth out for you very soon.

  19. DeeDee, You are very sparkly today.

EBJ, We may get to 104 today. ugh!

    Lynn, Start swimming...away.

Dianne, I hope your healing quickly.

Bonachichi, LOL @ DeeDee's voodoo doll.

Waving a wing to all the other Owls. I hope you all have a great day.

  20. CAROL: Sometimes I think I am so blessed when a friend asks me "So, what's new?" and I can answer "Nothing much..". I've had days where I wish for something really exciting to happen..and then stop and realize..excitement isn't always a good thing.

I know your life has been crazy lately..please just hang in there. These things seem to run in cycles. Before you know it, there will be a blissful lull in all the activity..you'll be able to sit back, relax..sip your cawfee and when someone calls and asks "What's new?" you can answer "Nothing much"..and smile.

DEEDEE: I was just listening to Barbra sing "You're the Top"..and look..you are! :)

EBJ: It was still 100 at 3am..I can't wait for Christmas!

LYNN: I don't like those turns at all..

DIANNE: Rest das foot so soon you won't need das boot.. ;)

BONACHI: Yikes..what if you're born on April 4th? Seriously..that fear of the number 4 could mess a lot of things up for them!

SACBARB: I wish I could think in one hour increments..I tend to worry about things days..no weeks ahead of time!

BONACHI2: Please don't remind DEEDEE about the voodoo dolls! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. CAROL: You wouldn't have like my pool last night..the water was actually HOT. It's been warm before..but not like this..it was almost uncomfortable...but...we just pretended it was a hot tub and made the best of it...lol..

    ReplyDelete
  22. Zona? Are you referring to zat bird zitting atop the Tiffany Diamond? Well...thank you for noticing that I am the TOP!
And don't worry about your voodoo doll....Since your last tumble I have it stored in its box on a high shelf....I can see it right now...ahhh...uh-ohhh.....would you believe that box just fell off its lofty perch and your doll spilled onto the floor! Remember that movie..."DEATH BECOMES HER"...with Merlene Streep and Goldie Hawn...when Merlene fell down the stairs and was all twisted and contorted with apparently every bone in her body broken including her neck?? Well thats pretty much what your VD looks like right now...
Not to worry though...I didn't do an incantation or anything....but I know what to do just to be on the safe side....I have to lay it out on the deck in the sun til the sun goes down....its a miserable cloudless humid 96 degrees but that shouldn't affect you.... unless a dog gets it and does something horrible with it...like tears it apart...

you know as I am writing this I am a tiny bit concerned....Zona....Zona!....Zona?? If you're ok just hold up one finger.....Zona??

  23. Hi everyone....

We have a situation here at the house. Seems we have a very large hawk that is stalking Belle...

I had been told that one had been seen but it wasn't until I saw it....close up...in the back yard....standing and staring at Belle that it scared me.

I was told that we are not supposed to shoot them...however...I have a high powered rifle loaded with "common sense" and he shows up again and I get a new hawk feathers hat!

I have four sets of doors that access the back and there is a rifle or shotgun by each one and I have one outside on the fireplace mantel....

It will be noisy but I just don't have it in me in this heat to tie a rag around my head and go all Rambo on his ass and stab him to death.....so he gets the business end of a gun....

F**king flying monkey MF trying to get my baby!! This is war!

(sorry for the WIZARD OF OZ reference Dianne)

AND THAT GOES FOR YOU TOO MR. BLUEJAY ATTACKING MY HEAD SOB!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dianne....

with a case...there is no problem with the new iphone....the case keeps your skin from touching the antenna...thats why they are giving out free ones now....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Holding up one finger for DEEDEE..but keeping my head down..lol..

I can't get that picture of Meryl Streep out of my mind now..I'm going to be very careful when I go out to dinner tonight. We were going to go to a movie..but I don't know if I want to take a chance navigating those steps in low lighting..

I hope you've put that doll up on a shelf..but not too high up..and that it's away from the dogs and the hawk!! That's all I need..to be torn apart and then carried away and dropped in a dozen different places..just like the scarecrow..ooops..another WOZ reference.. ;)

Keep Belle safe inside..there was a hawk that used to sit on one of the telephone poles in the backyard and screech at Rem. I called the Fish and Game Dept and asked if I should be worried. They said "No..it's probably more thirsty than hungry." I told them it kept making angry hawk noises whenever Rem went outside..they said "Ummm..maybe you should be careful then.." Really? Ya think?

Please take care of my doll DEEDEE..I'm counting on you!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bad idea, Dianne. DeeDee's gonna put your voodoo doll in her air cannon and shoot for distance, now. You shouldn't have told her you were going out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oops. I mean Zona. Now we'll have two owls in wheelchairs.

    ReplyDelete
  28. DeeDee You're so lovely and glittery today. I would worry about the hawk, too. They are beautiful birds and deserve to survive but not at the expense of your dog! I hate it when I see them circling above my backyard, spying the little birds that I feed.

EBJ I am soooo glad I live on this side of the bay. That is way too hot for me.

LynnD I have a friend who likes a saying which is basically that life is always changing. It may not get better but it will always get different.

Dianne For a minute there, I thought you wrote that Louis was tacky. LOL

Bonach Steve Jobs probably runs smarter, not harder. : )

SacBarb I heard it did reach 104 up there today. Did you just stay home or did you go hang out in the refrigeration section of the grocery store.

Zona Your weather is just plain ridiculous. ;)

Carol I, too, am going through a season of change and I'm not much liking it. I just have to tell myself that there are lessons here for me to learn.
