  3. Tina must have taken some "be nice" pills.

Shirley, those vids really set me off. My mum used to buy into all that. Those people are criminals and should be put away.

  4. Just what I need! Thanks, Shirley!

    Morning, Tina and Bon!

  5. Oh!! A pogo stick for your face!!

Actually...lol....there was a little more to it than "disappear for a night"....but I did tell everyone I was going to a birthday celebration in Houston...

Thats the best way to do these things IMHO.....don't tell anyone...that way they won't be waiting to critique it.....they'll just see you in a couple of months and wonder what you have been doing cause "you rook marvelous darling!!"

I just googled this guy who was hawking the neck slimmer....and read complaints and that he is no skin specialist....he is a former rugby player.....lol

But getting back to my neck thing....I do have to say that much later when I told Tina that I had actually used that time in Houston to have it done.....she already had guessed it....and I think most people who know me figure that when I am that vague about something that I am probably somewhere getting my tits cranked back up....or whatever needs it....lq

  6. Maybe in the future, we'll be born with invisible strings attached to key parts of our anatomy. This will eliminate the need for surgery. We'll just pull a string. It'd be fun to watch a tightly wound 50+ snap her strings.

  7. DeeDee, did you have to use your new neck as an avatar? That thing is straight out of a B horror flick!

  8. Good Morning pretty is~

    Good Morning Hooters!

I can never understand how people fall for that crap. Now really, if everything worked as they claim, we would all be skinny, beautiful, and ageless. (I know- some of you think you are, and I am not going to burst your bubble.

Hoping the day works out as planned- having dinner with my favorite HODI tonight!

    Have a good day everyone.

  9. Forgot to add: From area 51

My shoulder is doing great! I waited until the end of vacation before trying to golf. It felt so good, and my game was going well- I played 18 holes!! Went again this past Friday and it was fine then too.

Had a great time with the kids and they wore me out- but in such a good way!!

  10. don't you have those pictures reversed?~ :D

  11. Waving to all the HOoters!

Tina You're doing very pretty today.

Bonach It's sad how many people get ripped off by this kind of crap. They want so badly for it to work.

    Bear Howdy!

DeeDee I need a hell of a lot more done than just my neck. Part of me wishes I could do it and the other part is not a fan of going under anesthesia unless it's absolutely necessary.

Goldie Dinner with Hodi! How fun! Give her an extra hug from me. Also, I'm so glad to hear that your shoulder has healed so well.

  12. Congrats on first Tina!

Shirley: I am a mess, so I won't even go there with the turkey neck stuff...uggh..don't want to even think about it. But very funny video...amazing the stuff they have now..!

Hello DeeDee, Tina, bonachichi, Whabby, Just Lin, and Goldie

Goldie: Glad to hear that your getting better!

    ReplyDelete
  13. J/L!!!

What part of looking and feeling great is not absolutely necessary!!??

but seriously though....it is a lot to go thru....and should be done in stages...because just a local anesthesia can be used for much of the "trim" work.....

  14. SHIRLEY: LOL! They sure sell some crazy stuff! This reminds me of something they have on QVC..you put this spring thing in your mouth and try to pucker your lips..they say that it tightens your face muscles up..but I think it's really just a device to help women open their mouths wider..kwim? ;)

TINA: And what does pretty do? :D

BEAR: Don't buy it off TV! :)...:D

GOLDIE: Have fun with JODI tonight!

BONACHI: Elastic bands and a pulley might be better.. ;)

DEEDEE: Geez..that first avatar scared me..I think they must have used that QVC thing!

    J/LIN: They'd have to use a chainsaw on me..ijs..

    HI BEBBI! :)

  15. Evening Owls!

Congrats Tina! I forgot I sent you this video, it was a while ago I think. I can't believe you guys aren't chomping at the bit to buy this and try it out.

Bonachichi sorry the vid got your panties in a knot. I know what you mean though. These kinds of videos and infomercials sucker people in like those damn TV Evangalists do. Don't get me started on them!

Anyway, (((HUGS))) to everybody! Sorry I haven't been here much, and I'm sorry I haven't been sending you any blogs Tina/Carol. Maybe I will on the weekend. OK? I can't explain how I've been feeling cause I'm not sure I understand it myself. My family keeps telling me to let things go and just move on. Easier said than done.

I have been reading though. It was a bit stinky in here yesterday. At first I thought Carol's Dad had found another skunk, but then I realized that Tina and Bebbi were having a farting contest. Anyone know who won, or was it just a stinkin tie?!

  16. Hi hooters,

My first thought is what will they think of next?

I love the monogrammed gift bag... like most people know what those initials stand for! Geez.

Hope everyone has had a nice day so far! Have fun din-din Jodi and Heidi!

  20. I have a question for all of you culinary experts out there.

We are having lobster / crab ravioli on Sat. night and I have to make the rest of the menu.

I am thinking assorted roasted veggies and garlic ciabata bread.

Any other ideas? I don't want to just do a plain old salad.

    ReplyDelete
  21. EBJ...lucky you! Now you can sit around and fart, belch, be stupid and forget to change your underwear...and get away with it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. EBJ I think your Neckline Slimmer was defective. ijs.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maureen what kind of sauce are you having with the ravioli...a lemon butter herb sauce or a white cream sauce? You could always just have extra pieces of lobster and parsley to garnish on the plate. JMO.

  24. DeeDee I just hope you don't have a face like Joan Rivers...that looks painful when you try to smile.

  25. Thank you Tina, Bonachichi, Whabbear, DeeDee, Goldie, Just Lin, Beverly, Zona, EBJ and Maureen on all your comments. I appreciate it.

    Nighty night Owls!

  26. Mo, This is a salad my Mother used to make a lot in the summer. We loved it.

    BOCCONCINI (MOZZARELLA) AND TOMATO
    SALAD

This is a true Summertime salad because it is best made with garden-fresh, ripe ingredients. The riper the tomatoes, the better; and only fresh basil leaves will do. Use dark green olive oil.

    Vinaigrette:

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
    3-4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fresh oregano, or 1/4 teaspoon dry
    1/4 teaspoon sea salt
    pinch of red pepper flakes
3 garlic cloves, finely minced (or grated like Rachel Ray does)

    Salad:

2 tablespoons pitted black oil cured olive, chopped
1/2 lb small mozzarella balls (Bocconcini)
5 ripe tomatoes, cut into 1" thick wedges

Allow the minced garlic to stand in the vinegar for 10-15 minutes before preparing recipe. This will help remove the "bite" from the garlic and mellow it.

Meanwhile, slice tomatoes into wedges. Drain mozzarella balls (they are normally packaged in a brine). Remove pits from black olives and coarsely chop. Set these ingredients aside in a salad bowl.

Combine vinaigrette ingredients in a cruet or in a blender with the garlic and vinegar. Use 4 tablespoons vinegar if you like a tangy salad (3 tablespoons if you don't). You can use all balsamic vinegar, or if you prefer a milder dressing, use half balsamic and half red wine or Chianti vinegar. No mincing or chopping is required if a blender is used - pulse briefly.

Pour vinaigrette over tomatoes, cheese and olives; stir to coat. Do not add too much dressing - just enough.

Can be served with peeled, sliced cucumbers (1/4" coins or 1/2" cubes), if desired.

Season to taste with freshly grated black pepper (and salt, if needed) and serve, optionally, on a bed of radicchio or escarole hearts.

  27. Shirley, I have actually seen this ad on TV and wondered why anyone would believe this would work. People must buy it though, or they wouldn't continue to air it.

    Tina does pretty today.

I got my nails done today and got caught up on all the neighborhood gossip. I am amazed at the things that go on right under my nose, and I don't see it. I think I need new glasses.

Waving a wing to all the Owls. I hope you all had a good day.

  28. Gosh its late.. Having a hard time sleeping.. just to much going on..

Had to deal with Dr's today, we are still waiting.. one more test for my Dad and hopefully that will tell us what the heck is going on..

I am having a pitty party for myself, anyone want to join.. :(

Oh a much lighter note.. its seems me turning 50 in a couple of weeks has become a issue.. I was just going to have small gathering, but then I was approached my many family members on what I was doing, so my small gathering has turned into a birthday bash.. YIKES.. Caterer, Wait Staff, Tent Rental, Chair Rentals, Booze, and on and on and on.. How the heck did this happen.. oh and the count is now at 56 people.. Double Yikes, my backyard will never be the same.. I have decided to have the caterer bring everything except the booze and the tablecloths.. It was just to much to go to several different stores, so I am using the caterer to the fullest.. I am having a Traditional BBQ with all the fixings, and I get a BBQ person, hope he is a hottie.. It would be cool if he is a hottie and he starts to sweat from all the BBQing and have to take his shirt off.. now I would say that is some 50th birthday surprise!!!!

I am having it on 8/7 which is actually my Dad's Birthday, so we will of course celebrate his as well.

I am still in shock has this small gathering turned into this..

    God help me....

  29. I am giving a really big wave to all my friendly owls.. I don't seem to get here often.. I remember back in the day when the blog was the first thing I pulled up in the morning.. Now its like 12ish when I check for the blog and the QOTD..

I leave the office at around 9ish.. come home eat a lite dinner.. deal with Dad.. farm.. and poof the nite is over.. Now I know why I am lacking Vitamin D.. I don't see the sun all week..

I have to make some major decisions about my office.. Its total think time.. but I have to wait to all this smoke clears..

I have to get to work early tomorrow as I have a 9a appt with a client.. If I don't get some sleep, I will surely be babbling all the way thru..

  30. Sacbarb..

we make that salad all the time its delish..

    Mo..

Fumi Salad is great, we make it for family gatherings all the time..

    FUMI SALAD

    1 chopped cabbage head
    4 tbsp. slivered almonds
    2 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 pkg. Top Ramen (uncooked any flavor)

Mix cabbage in large bowl. Add almonds, sesame seeds, and Ramen.

    DRESSING:

    2 tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1 tsp. Accent
    3 tbsp. rice vinegar

Mix dressing ingredients together and add to salad just before serving.

Instead of Chopping Cabbage tho we use the premade Cole Slaw bags.. I think with this recipe 1 bag is needed.. if you want to double it up than my two bags and double up the ingredients..

I really think you will like it..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mo..

You can also buy melba toast rounds and premade bruschetta.. just place the melba toast on a serving plate and put some bruschetta on it..

If you want you can lightly spread (with a brush) some olive oil on the melba toast..

    YUM...
