If it's broke, I guess ya gotta fix it!

In my home you just never know
when my father will
pull something off
that you just have to
shake your head and laugh
it truly is a crap shoot
cause the odds can go both ways

His slippers broke
so he did what any WW2 veteran would do

He taped them with duck tape

Not much more to say
the picture tells it all!

LOL

Carol, I would be lost without duck tape lo!! I have the gray & clear. I had to use the clear to tape back the sleeves on a new blazer type coat... I do have a tailor, this was an emergency! LOL!!

I was going to venture out early this morning, but I see we got a few inches of snow. Looks like house work until they clear the roads :(

  10. Mary...just keep quiet about the cards....of course if she is losing it and something bad happens...you might regret keeping quiet...

of course I understand that you are having some trouble yourself remembering who your cards came from so you may want to double check to be sure she sent you three....maybe your husband can help you....

    Everyone makes mistakes...

By the way, one of the stocking stuffers I got for my grandson is a wallet made entirely of duct tape.

  13. Mary LOL @ taping up your sleeves. I don't think I knew duct tape came in a clear version. That could be handy.

MARY: Your beauty astounds me this afternoon. I had to put my sunglasses on to look at y ou!!

DEEDEE: Thanks for the BEAR updates and glad he made it safely.

Good travels to BEAR AND SACBARB and have a wonderful holiday with your families.

I have my two granddaughters for a couple of days so they are wrapping for me and then I give them a little spending money and we go shopping for mom and dad. They will be here until tomorrow afternoon. (they sleep as late as I do so we match up pretty darn good)

DEEDEE: I listened to the CD last night and it simply warmed my heart with sentiment! I never knew you could yodel!!

SHIRLEY: I am waving back wildly to you too. Now about those Broncos. I was buying a Bronco sweatshirt for my DIL yesterday (she wants one) and a guy told me they should pay ME to be buying one.

Better go check my little elves and see how they are doing. BBL

  30. 2 weird things happened today.

I was really hungry this morning and decided to drive thru at McD's and order a $1 breakfast burrito. Since it was a fricking blizzard, I decided I would wait until I got to work to eat it. I got the back and thru it on the passenger seat. I thought it seemed heavy for a little burrito.

When I finally opened the bag it had a sausage mcmuffin AND a bacon egg and cheese mcgriddle! I feel bad for the person that paid for all of that and got a $1 burrito!

    I never had a mcgriddle before...YUMMMMM!

  31. The other weird thing was about a patient. We had been seeing this little old man for years. He is 95 and the Mrs. is 94. We only saw him 2 -3 times a month to change his foley and check his PT/INR.

The nurse called this morning to ask me to get some extra auths because she had to go last night because his foley fell out. And she had to go again today for his PT/INR. Last week we also got his wife as a patient.

I got the Auth and texted the nurse that it was cool to go.

A few minutes later she called me to tell me he died in his sleep. When she was done he said thank you, wished her a good holiday and went to sleep. He never woke up.

I really think he knew his wife would be taken care of because Karen is an awesome nurse, so he felt it was ok to go to heaven.

The weird part...when she told me, I cried. I never met this man. I have been getting auths for a couple of years for him, but I wouldn't know him from Adam. Maybe I was just meloncholy.

  32. Carol, they also make orange duck tape!
I use it to tape down some of my cables when I do Karaoke. It prevents people from tripping on them. They orange makes sure they can see them.

I finished my Christmas shopping! I even bought my own gift for Mr Mary!
He was not eager to shop this year! Oh well, I got to pick what I wanted :) I can hardly wait to open it lol!!

    Mo, love your attitude lol!!

Bear,I was glad to hear you landed safely! Enjoy your Holiday!

DeeDee. you were much more gentler then the Tina woman! I will follow your advice, but leave them all on display and see if she notices lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. And one more work thing. I have been feeling very un-appreciated for a while. Nicole and I do a lot for the clinicians, and so many of them seem to expect it and have a sense of entitlement to them.

There is a PT that is just nothing less then a total class act. She really sets the bar, provinh it can be done and done right.

Anyhow, she left messages for Nicole and I (Nicole is off and I am covering her desk) wishing us a Happy Holiday and to say thank you for all we do to help her and everyone. Then she said to open our drawer, as she left a card. And get this...inside was a $25 gift card. I cried again, but happy tears!

  34. Duct tape just comes in the silver....but DUCK tape now has Spotted Leopard and Zig Zig Zebra....clear and every color in the rainbow....

But I would imagine your Dad has duct tape....thats the be all...end all for men....lol...and the strongest...

Duct tape is like Louis Vuitton... fabric fibers with a coating for strength....

    Duck tape is ..well...tape.

  41. Mo, I love the McGriddles! Too funny!
Maybe the other people checked their "light" bag and McD's made it right for them.
You are big hearted, that's why you feel the sadness for his loss.
    My Sister is a nurse and takes care of people in their home. Most are completely immobile, and don't live very long. She tells me about a few of them. I have met a couple. When she tells me they have passed I too feel the sadness even though I have not known them well. {{hugs}}

    I am off to FB.........

  42. CAROL...amybe CiCI can duct tape the trunk of his car, so if he ever puts another skunk in, the odor won't permeate the whole car!!

TINA...Hi! Are the In-Laws coming for Christmas?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mo.. true the tape would def come in handy for that.. But I tell ya.. I truly think he learned his lesson about the skunk.. He knows we will all kill him..

  46. Thanks for all the safe traveling wishes, everbody! DeeDee was spot in in her reports! LOL!

What she didn't have an opportunity to report was what happened after I landed! I didn't get to my sister's place for an hour and half after we de-planed because I had to wait almost a full hour in the customs line. OMG, we were all furious, with literally hundreds of people to process and only half of the booths contained customs agents.

Grrrr.... but all's well that ends well!

Thanks again DeeDee... when I read them tonight, the updates made me laugh!

BTW, finally got serious about working on a new blog on the plane. It's about time!
