I LOVE making cards. I really do. It's a long process, but worth it to me. It's theraputic in a frustrating kinda way.
It takes me a forever to figure out the design. Sometimes I get it right off the bat, and other times it takes me several tries. Once I have something I am satisfied with, I bring it to work to show Janice and I show my daughter. Janice, being the nice lady that she is, will tell me she likes it. I have to bring several different versions for her to see so she picks the one she likes the best. I also have to watch her face closely to see if she's telling me the truth. My daughter is way different. She will tell me what she thinks even if it hurts my feelings. When I showed her this particular card, she scrunched up her nose and said with a straight face, "I don't really like the patterned paper!" I was shocked, but then she started laughing. I promptly smacked her!
I know most people don't send Valentine's Day cards. I usually don't, but when I feel like being crafty, I feel like being crafty!
~ Happy Valentine's Day ~
Good Moaning~
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Tina! I thought your card was divine... thanks so much for sending it!
ReplyDeleteand where is "Valentine Danty!?"
ReplyDeleteoh Tina! Boy can I relate! I make cards occasionally...well I don't make the card...I buy it...but then I add to it. The card I sent Tina was a fold out pop-up of a tropical beach scene with pop up palms and a hammock...flowers and pop up waves...really just stunning. It related to the two of us being stranded on a desert island so I printed up pictures of items that I would need and that Tina would need on heavy vellum....cut them out ever so carefully and made little pop up devices for each of them....
For myself I included a yellow Hermes Kelly Bag and a large sack of cash...a cut out of Belle and my jewelry case (not visible...pirate you know)..
For Tina I included a Cricut and Gypsy machine....
I wish I had taken a picture of it....I was very proud of my card...it was not only a beautiful card to begin with but it became a creative engineering feat...with the additional pop ups and all...
Tina received it and said..."oh." Janice liked your card. Well who the hell is this Janice. I am about sick of her! Janice...Janice...Janice!! Well Janice can kiss my ass...
Of course I had mailed early so Tina still had ample time to send me my "cupcake" and a note explaining that I shouldn't compare her card to mine...that it wouldn't be fair to me....she also reassured me that I shouldn't be jealous....
Also included was a little wooden "Sweet Corn" sign with a curly-que rusted wire hanger so I could hang it.. continuing the country store motif that I try to maintain throughout my home.
The gift wrap was stunning as well...the little corn sign was presented in an airline barf bag...presumably Delta....thankfully it was vomit free when I received it....
I feel very fortunate to be at the receiving end of Tinas creativity and talent at card making and gifting.....
I loved the card Tina..it tasted like cardboard though. ;)...
ReplyDeleteGood morning!! Whabby!! Tina!! All HOOOOooo fly in later.
Happy Valentine's Day to all and to all a heart-filled warm and loving day.

ReplyDeleteOh! I forgot to mention that on the card I sent to Tina...there were 2 champagne glasses and iced down Champagne on the beach....I converted that to Tomato juice...Del Monte I think....
ReplyDeleteI didn't want her drinking wine...you know...with her lezbo tendencies and all....I guess she'll be after my "pie" from now on...bless her heart...
Happy Valentines Day to all you Hooters!!
ReplyDeletetina~ I love your card, and I love getting things in the mail where someone has taken the time to do something so special. Thank you!!

ReplyDeleteTina You look almost as pretty as the card you made. If you just had a bow in your hair.... Seriously, I loved the cupcake card. It must be so gratifying to make such lovely cards.
Bear Any special plans for you and Huz or did you celebrate over the weekend?
ReplyDeleteDeeDee LOL @ Tina wrapping your gift in a barf bag. I would have loved to see the card you made for her. I had no idea you were also so crafty.
ReplyDeleteBebbi The card may have tasted like cardboard but doesn't everything that is zero calories?

ReplyDeleteHappy VD to everyone!
Tina, I love the cupcake card. It's still on my desk. As much as your sunny disposition must endear you to customers, I think you've missed your calling. You should drop some of your masterpieces off at some boutiques on Rodeo next time you're in L.A. Thanks for a Tina Original!
J/L: So True...!!
ReplyDeleteZona ;)
DeeDee..your cards sound really lovely...amazing all you can fit into them. ha ha. :) You are such a sweet generous soul, too bad Janice....er, Tina, didn't appreciate you more. Such a sad shame.
Tina: I didn't know you made it! :)
All - Happy Valentine's Day. I love you all so much. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Goldie, Kathy, Robert, Tina, DeeDee, Bonachichi, LynnD. I am feeling more upbeat today than I expected. That makes me very happy!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY HOOTERS!!!!
ReplyDeleteTINA: I loved the card and actually love any card you make...you put so much thought into it...thank you.
So many of you make cards and I think it is a great trait to be able to do such a good craft. I love them all.
My husband bought me two charms for my bracelet (that he got me for our anniversary). One is a cute little dolphin and the other................an owl! He said as soon as he saw it he knew I would love it and I do and makes me think of every one of you!
We were going to go out to eat but decided to order in and just stay home (I really didn't want to get dressed and I hate my black eye showing in public).
Hope you are all having a nice day and good night. Happy Day to all of you again.
Good evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteTINA...your card is awesome, even the patterned paper! I loved it an appreciate it.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to one and all.
Hi Owls! It's me! I'm on my way to bed but wanted to stop in. Sorry I've been missing, but work is draining me, plus when I get home I do income taxes here too. Work and sleep is all I do.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Tina I like your cupcake! It's lovely, just like you!
(((HUGS))) everyone. I hope all of you who are sick or hurt are healing. Nighty night!
Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the card Tina, I loved it!
(haha, I didn't actually get one, just pretending so I can fit in with everyone!)
Hope you all had a wonderful day!
I think Shirley is entertaining gentlemen callers...ijs
ReplyDeleteI saw her a couple of weeks ago at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio signing up for rumba lessons...
and I can report that I also saw her buying corn pads at the drugstore yesterday...
DEE DEE ...do you get residuals on corn pads, too? I assume you invented those?
ReplyDeleteJ/L: He just got back from San Diego tonight, so we're down here in Mountain View, just had a bottle of champagne, broiling lamb chops, and about to watch "A Single Man".
ReplyDeleteI'm on a Colin Firth roll after watching The King's Speech last night!
Happy Valentine's Day to you and all!
Maureen....
ReplyDeletecorn pads? ...no. They aren't actually corn.
However I did invent the rumba so there is income there...
**glares at DeeDee**
ReplyDeleteFYI DeeDee, it Tango lessons!
**turns dramaticly and starts to leave the room...stops...turns again to give DeeDee one last icy stare...their 3 eyes lock...they walk towards each other...they embrace and...***
Whoops, wrong senario!
**hastily leaves room**
ugh~
