Widdle Wabbit

by Dianne

A precious little girl walks into a PetSmart shop and asks,

in the sweetest little lisp, between two missing teeth,  "Excuthe me,

mithter, do you keep widdle wabbits?"

As the shopkeeper's heart melts, he gets down on his knees so that

he's on her level and asks, "Do you want a widdle white wabbit,

or a thoft and fuwwy, bwack wabbit, or maybe one like that cute widdle

bwown wabbit over there?"

She, in turn, blushes, rocks on her heels, puts her
hands on her knees, leans forward and says, in a tiny quiet voice,
"I don't think my python weally gives a thit."

  1. omg.....I have to tell you guys.....when Di sends me something to post on the blog, there is usually at least one picture that goes with it. It's NEVER an attachment! It's always in the body of the email. Ugh! I have the hardest time converting it in my computer to a picture so I can post it. So I started googling some part of the joke, or the title, or the theme.....whatever I need to do to find the picture on the internet. Then all I have to do is save the pic and post~ Easy! Well this time, I used the title of the blog to find the picture....and O M G ! ! ! ! ! ! I didn't get any pics of a small child! I GOT DILDO's!!!!!!!!~ Then I remembered Sex & the City.....and now I know what "wabbit" they were talking about! Thanks Di!!!!!!!~

  6. Dianne - That is the cutest story and the cutest picture. I thought her lisp would have something to do with the ending because it reminded me of a story that ends "Yeth and I am only sixteen". For the life of me though I can't remember the story.

  7. Tina - I never saw "Sex and the City" so I have no idea what "wabbit" means. We couldn't get it in Canada unless we had a special channel. Then it came out after the series ended but it was highly edited. That was strange because Canadian T.V. is very liberal with its content. By the time it came here I had lost interest.

  8. Bear - Are you coming to Canada this summer?

  9. Bebbi - If you have time please message me and tell me about the connection between "wabbit" and "Sex and the City". I am curious.

area51, Jodi, I am glad you went back. For some reason it was bothering me. Your tears in front of your Dad showed your love. He may be tough on the outside, but I bet when it comes to you, he is a softy :)

DI: Funny!! Poor widdle wabbit though.. ;)

  27. Afternoon/evening everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been a good owl lately. I promise after tax season is over I will spend a week on the naughty mat.
We have so much work to do I'm going in for 7:30 tomorrow morning. One business dropped off 2 boxes that stand about 3 feet high, full of recipts (we have already done 2 other boxes for him). Nothing is organized and it is for 3 years. Another business brought his papers in a small overnight duffle bag. Again nothing is organized. We have 3 other businesses to do plus the regular tax returns that people are bringing in. I only have 4 sitting here at home for me to do. But on the upside there is only 9 more official tax days that we are going to be open!!

  28. Jodi my heart break for you. I am so glad you went back to your Dad's last night! He may say you don't need to stay, but I bet he doesn't want to be alone. I sat with mum for many hours. Most of the time we never talked, but I now know she liked having someone there with her. (((((((((HUGS)))))))) my friend.

I'll be back when I can! Be good and don't fight! I have cameras hidden everywhere, so I know what goes on!!

  30. Just got back from Dad's. He is about the same as yesterday. We had some really heartfelt conversation. He truly is ready...whenever that might be ♥

  31. MARY - I think you're right!! After all I am the only daughter ♥

    ZONA - wrong....brown paper bag ;)

Thank you SHIRLEY!! A co-worker of mine agreed to take my short shift tomorrow, and I'm spending the night tonight. I didn't give him a choice, although he really didn't resist.

  32. TINA - Asked Dad if he had any wishes for his funeral. He said 2.....The Old Rugged Cross & Communion. Dang...I think this Lutheran thinks he's Catholic!!!

  33. Hi, Bebbi, Jodi, J/L, Mary, Zona, and Shirley!

Tink: Yes! We're flying back to Toronto to celebrate my parents' 60th wedding anniversary in August! We're actually calling it the "90-80-60" party because my Dad also turned 90 this year, and my Mom hit 80!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Home from the Doctor's. Nothing new. The syrinx can't be operated on because it is on the very base of the spine and it could cause paralysis. I will start some kind of rehab courses.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bear, that is wonderful that your parents are celebrating 60 years of marriage. It should be a lot of fun. We celebrated my sister and brother-in-law's 50th and it was great. Little did we know it was her last year.

Too bad Toronto is 3000 miles from Victoria. I would have loved to have seen you. We still have to enjoy High Tea at the Empress someday.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Whabby, 90-80-60!!! Amazing!

Jodi, you are lucky your Father lives close by. I used to drive 45 miles when my parents were near the end. I would sit and talk and sing to them. Many days were agonizingly boring but I pictured them doing the same for me. No disrespect, but I would never tell them "they could go" until we were told their bodies were shutting down. Both parents hung on until all of us arrived. We sent them off with our singing. Everyone handles it differently. You in some way are preparing yourself for his departure. God bless you in the coming days. I wish I could sing to him :)

  37. Hi Shirley, I was wondering where you were. April is such a busy tax month. My daughter is a chartered accountant and she is so busy in April that she can't even take the time to celebrate her birthday this week. Even May is busy because the businesses get an extra month to file.

  38. We are having Chinese food for dinner tonight. I am looking forward to that. Jack doesn't feel like cooking and I don't feel like cleaning up afterwards. A good deal all around.

I have to check out my farms. Have a great evening. See you tomorrow.

  39. Hello Everyone!

Oh, Jodi, the talk that you and your dad had about his funeral brought me to tears. I feel like I know him. Hugs, my dear friend.

  41. MARY - None taken....the dr called my brother back and asked if he could call my Dad. He thinks that my Dad has either had a stroke or the very least small vessel damage in the brain due to lack of oxygen. He convinced my Dad to be assessed for Hospice in home care. Probably in the next day or 2. I would've never thought of telling him what I did just a week ago, but you see his body IS shutting down. Oh, and I do plan on singing for him ♥

Thanks ITEACH...it's been really hard, but made a little better by the support of my friends ♥

Glad you all enjoyed this cute little blog today. I got a chuckle out of it.

JODI: I am so glad your dad is willing to have Hospice come in and help out. You will be so happy with them and I think he will too. Sorry you are going through so much heartache right now...hugs to you. I could sing to him but he might cover his ears!!

Hmmmm, anyone watch AI tonight? I still like Scotty but probably since he is country....Loren too.

Tomorrow my friend and I are going with another friend to a nursing home to say goodbye to her husband. He has been very sick for the last few years aNd it is nearing the end. It is out of town so we will drive up in the late morning. I have known him for many years but he no longer knows any of us. He just turned 80 today.

    Congrats on first MISS TINA!!!!

MARY; You can sing to me anytime. I love the little songs JODI leaves for me so I would love yours too.

ZONA: Nice to see you are explaining to the owls what the "other" meaning is for a wabbit. Thanks for the info.

TINA; I would send you my blogs different IF I knew how to do it...but you know me and computers.

Hello and Good Night to BEAR, J/L, BEBBI, GOLDIE, SHIRLEY, TINK AND ITEACH. Hope I didn't miss anyone....

    DIANNE...tho cute!

HODI...I'm glad you are staying with your dad tonight. It will mean a lot him and even more to you. I sat at the hospital and nursing home everyday with my mom and some days she just slept as I sat...and I wouldn't have missed it for anything. G-D bless you my friend.

ZONA...you didn't send me the link, but SURPRISE...it opened!!! YAY!

    SHIRLEY...welcome back! I missed you.

Went to Joni's dad tonight for the condolence call and didn't get home till 11 pm. Someone sent in a card with a poem about losing a mom and I bawled. I'm such a big old baby

  55. Dianne - You could never be tedious. You are too vivacious and of course young.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jodi - My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight. If your dad goes to hospice he will be kept very cozy and comfortable. I was so impressed with the attitude of everyone at the hospice here. It was so loving and peaceful, not sad at all.
God bless your daddy tonight and keep him content.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mary - I think I am innocent when it comes to furry "whatcha ma call em". I guess that comes from being a teenager from the 50's.

  58. Thanks for the cute story Dianne. Jack really enjoyed it tonight.

  59. Good Night Zona, Tina, Whabbear, Bebbi, Jodi, Just-Lin, Mary, Shirley, Iteach, Goldie, Dianne, Maureen and Carol.

    An Irish Prayer

    May God give you...
    For every storm, a rainbow,
    For every tear, a smile,
    For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
    For every problem life sends,
    A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

  60. Mary - I just skimmed through the comments and noticed that while I was rambling on you wrote a beautiful piece about sitting with your parents when their lives were coming to an end. It was so touching. I never saw it until now. It looks so disrespectful because I followed it and didn't even mention it. I think I was talking about Chinese food for dinner. I am very sorry. I know that would have been a very difficult time for you. Losing ones mom and dad it one of the hardest things we have to endure. Again I am so sorry.
