  15. Morning glories!

I love Lily! She is a National Treasure in my book!

J/L I don't know if this will help or not, but I have watched both of Angel's parents go through 6 rounds of chemo. Seems to me all of that pain and suffering and appt. upon appt. Only bought them few more months and now they are at the end of the road.

Her Dad is at home with hospice right now and it is like the whole family is exhausted emotionally and physically.

If it were me with the diagnosis her parents had I would have opted for Pallitive care right away.

I will be thinking about your whole family at this time and sending many prayers your way. Love you.

  17. what a morning....

we had a visitor...Belle was outside playing and the biggest..ugliest pitbull came out o the trees and made a beeline for Belle....he pinned her down but I came racing around the deck and pulled a giant plant pole out of the ground...I diverted his attention for a split second and Belle got under the deck....then he came at me...I beat the shit out of his head with the pole....the adrenaline had kicked in and I was just crazy....till he ran away yelping...with a few knots on his head I hope....he was bleeding....

Belle was covered with wet dirt and scared to death...I took her in and checked her out...she seemed fine...so I bathed her...

I knew where the pitbull came from so I then drove back there and as I exited my car with my gun in a shoulder holster (to protect myself) I saw probably 8 pitbulls in heavy chains and there were tires hanging from trees for the dogs to hang onto with their jaws...I also saw the woman who lives there chaining up a dog....I asked her if that was the pit that was on the loose this morning and she smiled (very sweet lady) and said no...that was my male that got loose....
I told her what had happened and she said she was sooo sorry that she always has them chained up....

I said I know you keep them chained but it only takes once and if I hadn't been so nearby my dog would be dead...again she apologized and she seemed really alarmed about the whole thing...

I wish she had been a bitch...it would have made what I had to tell her easier...but I said...."I hope you understand that if any of these dogs ever come onto my property again I will shoot and kill them...

She got this look of horror on her face...and I said look...its nothing personal...you are a very nice lady...I'm sure we would be friends under different circumstances....but today I just wanted to let you know that I want you to keep your dogs chained and off my property and I wanted you to know what to expect if you don't...

Then she got sassy...and I got sassier...and hopefully by next Monday she and her husband and their monsters will be looking for a new place to live....tada

Now Belle is all "I coulda taken him".....and I said..."yes her could! All 10 pounds of you!"

  18. Michael! So glad you were out there, that is so scary!! It would have broken my heart too if something happened to Belle. Oh my goodness...!! Why do they have so many pitbulls?

  19. Tina Good mooning. No, that's not a typo. Oh, wait, that was McDreamy's face! So sorry for the mistake.

  20. Shirley Thanks fort the hugs. I feel them all the way from Nova Scotia.

  21. Bebbi I hope you're having a good day at work. I'm such a slug today. I didn't even get out of bed until about 11:00. Right, Maureen? LOL

  25. LynnD This isn't going to be an easy road, palliative care or not. Of course we knew she couldn't live forever but this has still come as a shock. I certainly didn't want her life to end in such a difficult way. I feel so bad for all that Angel is going through.

Thank you for your prayers. They are needed and appreciated.

I may want a therapist before this is over.

  26. Zona You got coked up and now your eyes are bleary? Oh, wait. I think I read that wrong.

Thank you for the prayers and keep them coming, please.

  27. Dianne Thank you for your call the other night. You're such a sweetheart. I don't care what Tina says about you. LOL

  28. Just watched that, it was so great..thanks Michael.. I love Lily Tomlin! :)

  29. Michael OMG! You have an idiot in your neighborhood! Why 8 pitbulls, indeed? Dogs, any breed, can get a pack mentality that can be dangerous. It sounds like those dogs are not well socialized. My son (and I, by default) have a sweetheart of a pitbull. She loves other dogs and people. My 20 year old feeble kitty curls up with her. Not all pitbulls are dangerous to small animals and/or people. The dog you dealt with has a bad owner, probably the male in the family. I would not blame you for shooting it if it comes after Belle again.

  30. Michael2 I forgot to say thanks for the laughs. I needed that. Love Lily Tomlin!

  31. Our town has a rule that no one can have more then three dogs or you will be heavily fined. I do know we have strict guidelines on pitbulls, but I can't remember what they are....

  32. Today has been a good day. The kids and I played outside for a little while and we also went back to my school so I could work in my classroom.

Tonight Carolyn and I are going to watch Gnome and Juliet with my grandpa and his girlfriend. They love animated films, so this should be fun. :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. J/L...they obviously teach them to fight....why else would keep a bunch of dogs that you have to chain down...

They are on the back edge of the neighborhood on a dirt road but its not 500 feet thru the trees from my house to their "place"...

I have many doggie friends from back there that come calling...wanting loving or food..water...etc....which I give freely if they are nice...and they always are...you would just have to see the parade of pretties....some of them pretty scruffy....

I think all those dogs must tell each other the best places to hang out...you know..where theres plenty of food water and shelter...

I gave a bunch of them a frontline flea treatment recently and they are so proud...lol...not to have fleas for awhile.....they have more confidence in their step....lol..

    ReplyDelete
  34. Michael I'm sure they feel better to have fleas and ticks gone.

  35. Good evening Owls.

I am sending this from my phone cause my computer has crashed again. Arrrrggghhh

Michael I am not able to view the vid from my phone but I gather it is funny and I love Lily too. So glad Belle is safe thanks to you.

J/L so sorry about your Mom. She and your family have been in my prayers and will continue to be so.

We have had really screwy weather. Tornado warnings were issued twice today and we have had rain and hail. All is ok now as it has moved north.

Please excuse any typos. I hope you all have had a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  36. SacBarb Thank you for the prayers.

Hey, are you sure that was a tornado? Maybe it is the wrath of Maria Schwarzenegger.

  37. HOdi Thank you for the call. I'm sorry I couldn't really talk while I was at work.

  38. Tina Just realized I was so taken with your mooning or moaning that I forgot to thank you for the prayers. Please keep them coming.
