This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Wow okay, I kind of think the little man is a bit paranoid and is labeling dumb bitches.
Personally I don't care who gets on an elevator I always move to the side and clutch everything. Never know what weirdo is getting in. Since I don't carry a gun I want easy access to the several pounds of coin I carry to beat the MF'ers senseless.
ha hahaha....just like a girl scout!! Always prepared!
Good morning Lynn D! Thats funny...
The worst thing to me is when someone gets in the elevator and passes burrito gas...
If I am at the control panel I will hold the door button and ask if anyone needs to pass anything before we take off...and if I have any takers...as soon as they are out of the elevator I release the hold button....
MICHAEL: I always move to the back left corner of the elevator when I get on, no matter who else is getting on with me..In fact my sister was teasing me about this last week..hey..I guess I just figure I'll give everyone lots of room as well as provide equal weight distribution..lol.. ;D
LYNN: Congrats on First, Beautiful! Just leave me that back left corner..that's all I ask.. ;)
Wow, that scared me. I have never liked elevators and I think this video has left a permanent mark on my brain. I would always take the stairs rather than get on an elevator alone. That custom began years ago when I had to visit my lawyer whose office was in the worst end of town. The only parking spot was on the 6th floor of the parking lot and I had to take the rickety old elevator to get out of there. A very weird man got on at the next floor and a shiver went down my back. Nothing happened (he was probably a drunk down on his luck) but it wasn't many weeks later when I read about a woman who was badly attacked in that same "lift". Needless to say that was my last time alone in such a small closed in space. Thank you Michael for reminding me about this.
I don't worry now because I don't go anywhere alone. Besides I have my little container of bear spray in my purse. It is still legal here although there are talks of banning it because it gets into the wrong hands.
Elevators can be frightening. Even with my gun situations can be scary because I sure as heck don't want to use it....
Tina got everything posted before she left....all I did was give her a bunch of needed blogs to get thru till she comes back...
I mean...she needed the blogs...you all may not think they are needed after you see them all....lol
I believe there are a couple of nice surprises as well...
Tina and her 2 of 3 kids and husband are leaving LAX today. Flights are packed so they may have a long travel day....but they are not on a schedule...so only slightly incontinent...
no need to thank me for keeping the blog going....yes it is a lot of responsibility and hard work but considering my work ethic and my commitment to excellence....its just all in a days kindness.... And its important that we "give back" to those who have given us so much.....so my efforts are really just an appreciation of the nest and the people here...
LynnD Look how purdy your tootsies are at first today. Looking at them makes me cold, though. Perhaps because it is all overcast here now and everything outside is wet. Not sure if it sprinkled earlier today or is it's just falling fog.
clap clap....bow bow.....thanks MICHAEL for this blog and the ones to follow. This is a little scary and I think of it sometimes on an elevator. Heck, maybe the other person is scared of us!!!
TINK; Glad you are having sunshine today. We have been having it everyday for quite some time. We are known to have something like 300 days of sunshine a year in Colorado. It's been just a little hot for me and some humidity has been sneaking in and that I can for sure do without each day.
LYNN: Congrats on first. You are the mmst beautiful today at first and always!!! So glad to hear that you are feeling better. I know how long that tunnel can be without seeing the light....yea....you see the light. Keep getting better each day. Thinking of you.
SACBARB: How fun to have your son visiting. did you ever go for that root canal?
MCHAEL; Funny that you think Tina and group will be inconvenienced and incontinent too----probably with that long flight!! lol
ZONA: Well, you are back to being alone today and getting all those projects done while MR Z is slaving away at work. I will be checking in on you. I did my insurance call and I just need to hop on that bike and I will have not told Louis one fib about what I did while he was gone.
Today is Bingo and I am not excited about it. This volunteering for this actual game is not as much fun and fulfilling as I thought it would be with all the residents getting so "up in arms" over their bingo games. I will give it a little more time and see how it goes.
Tinka It sounds like you were right to be uncomfortable in that lift. I'm more worried about parking garages, in general, than I am about elevators. Movies sure make elevators seem sinister, though. If someone isn't getting attacked in one, they are trapped in it or plunging to their death. I've never had a problem in one, myself. I have had some great kisses in them, though. :)
Michael Thanks for the blogs. It really is appreciated. I seem to have writer's block lately. I can't come up with anything to talk about. LOL at Tina's family being incontinent. I hope she packed Depends in the carry-on.
Dianne Those old folks really do take their Bingo seriously, don't they? I'm sorry you aren't finding it to be more fulfilling. Are you going to get on your exercise bike? I need to make it to Curves today. I didn't go last Thursday or Friday because of my fall. Most of the swelling on my knees is gone, now. I do have some ugly bruising, though. Funny, but the knee with least amount of bruising is the one that is still the most tender.
I can't watch the video..well, I can but I can't hear anything because I broke my headphones again. :( Have to wait until I get home and I won't be home till late. :(
I always thought I liked Bingo, but gosh, I went to one not too long ago and it was sooooooooooo longggggggggg and so boringgggggg.... I wanted to leave way before anyone else. Never again..
Up from my nap but still not quite awake. I read the latest posts and will comment later. Waving at Dianne, Bebbi, Just_Lin and last but not least the producer of the blog, Michael.
ok....only half of you are trying because only 2 of them got on the plane!
Mr. Tina and the boy left the girls at LAX...to fend for themselves...they are going to try for the flight to HNL at 5:40pm.... midday there were 21 seats available in first class...now there are 12...coach is FULL!!!
btw...Mr Tina is flying up front in first class and the 16 year old with the thing the screeners at LAX now know the size of... has been relegated to tourist class!
This travel day sounds like nightmare for Tina and co.! Hope they all made it, or are well out over the Pacific!
Tinka: Bear spray? BEAR spray? And here I thought we were friends? LOL!
Speaking of laughing, Michael, even though it may not have been supposed to be a humorous video, I totally cracked up at the fake attach scene! Yes, just call me sick and twisted!
Have a great day, owls! It's Huz's birthday, so he's on his way down so we can have dinner together Mountain View!
Well Tina and midsize Tina are in their first class seats at 15,000 feet and 8 minutes out of L.A.
And there is only the last Hawaiian Air flight to Kauai tonight that they can make at 10pm....
I sure hope they make it...
Tina called from the cabin while having her tomato juice. I asked to speak to the cabin attendant but Tina would not hand her the phone!!
At the airport in L.A. midsize Tina got yelled at for trying to stick her head through the arm of a chair so she could lie down.
Can you imagine...if she had gotten her head stuck they certainly would have missed the flight...well... Tina may have just left her there...she was pretty angry...lol
So if all goes well and little Tina doesn't get her head stuck in anything... they should fly 5 hours and 40 minutes and arrive in HNL at 8:15pm...then connect to Hawaiian Airways at 10pm arriving Lih at 10:36pm...have a happy reunion with the boys and be very tired because their bodies will be on a 4 hour time delay....
btw...they are at 30,500 feet right now and 24 minutes out....
If you go onto Facebook and type in R.I.P. Hannah Kendal and Jade Garza, you will come across what happened in my community today.
Both girls lived in Sterling, another small town next to mine and they were detasseling this morning. Detasseling has to do with the corn that young teens do for a job in the summer.
The field that they were working had an irrigation system. There was a live wire down from the storm.
The crew leader, a guy my age, and four other kids tried to pull the girls out of the puddle too and they were all shocked. They are fighting for their lives right now.
Our community is totally devasted, nothing like this has happened before. The crew leader is just this awesome guy who I wave to every morning when I drop the boys off to the sitters during school time. I just can't believe this happened.
I had the root canal today and I am kinda sore now but not too bad. I ate frozen yogurt for dinner so I didn't have to chew. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
J/L, I read about your fall. I hope you're OK. When I picked Chad up at the bus station last Monday I fell on the sidewalk walking to the bus station from my car. It was lunchtime in downtown Sac and there were tons of people everywhere watching me as I was spread eagle on the sidewalk. I was more embarrassed than hurt. The next night I ushered at the Music Circus and the first time I applauded I realized I really hurt my hand. I didn't even know it was all black and blue. Chad asked me if I was chewing gum at the time I fell. He's such a brat!
Wow, so much has happened since I checked the blog I don't know where to start--
Iteach - What a horrible thing to happen in your community. All the kids who tried to help Hannah are heroes. I guess no-one ever told them not to touch anyone or anything that is touching a live wire. It isn't something we teach in school and very few families talk about it because it is so unusual. The families of these kids must be desolate. My prayers are with them all tonight. ((((Hugs))) for you too. I know you as well as the rest of the community must be in shock.
We lost our Vet ten years ago because a freak wind storm caused wires to drop. He was at a dog show and he started to direct people around a live wire. Suddenly the wind picked up the wire and hit him on the back of his head. He died instantly. He was only 39 and such a good Vet. When any of our pets die we console ourselves by knowing Ben is looking after our "fur babies" in Heaven.
Michael - Thank you for keeping us up to date Tina and family. They are experienced travellers and probably don't mind the wait. I hate waiting at airports. As a matter of fact I don't feel like ever flying again. I travelled a lot over ten years and enjoyed it. Now I like staying home. I think our trip to Hawaii last year may be our last trip ever.
Dianne - Your weather is Colorado sounds ideal. Usually July is the warmest, sweetest month of the year here but not this year. Even the sun today didn't have much heat in it. We are hoping for a nice August. I go to water therapy again tomorrow. Wish you could come with me.
Whabbear - Sorry Sweetie. I will never call it Bear spray again. Actually it is Dog spray (not as strong as Bear or Pepper spray) but I hate calling it Dog spray. It sounds so mean.
Just_Lin - I don't like parking garages either. There have been some awful things happen in those cold dark places. Our city is pretty safe but we have had attacks in parking garages. I never go in one alone.
Barb - I am sorry to hear you fell. Your bones must still be pretty strong if you didn't break anything. That's the good thing. The bad thing is that you will be sore for quite a while. To add to the hurt is the embarrassment of having people see you fall. We shouldn't feel that way but I think we all do.
Barb I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. I'm glad you weren't hurt too badly. Sorry, but I had to laugh at Chad's question about if you were chewing gum! LMAO!
Michael - I can't possibly comment on all your posts tonight because there are so many. All I can say is "Thank you for all the work and time you put into your posts today". I think you deserve a medal.
Tinka Good evening. I hope your water therapy goes better for you tomorrow than it did last time. If not, you might want to change to that other group you mentioned.
Tinka Congrats on 10 and 25. I thought I was going to go to Curves today but I am still too sore from my fall last week. Good luck on your therapy tomorrow.
I have already said goodnight so I will leave you with a poem--
Lucky stars above you, Sunshine on your way, Many friends to love you, Joy in work and play- Laughter to outweigh each care, In your heart a song- And gladness waiting everywhere All your whole life long!
Hmmmm, I can't sleep. It is late (3:15AM) and I am back up wide awake. Read the paper, looked at emails, now what.........guess I will try and go to sleep and see if it works this time.
Picked up Louis from airport tonight with grandkids and then went to eat and home. You would think that darn bingo would have pooped me out today :)
MICHAEL - Very thought provoking video. Being that I live in such a small town, sometimes I don't think about all that. I am aware of my surroundings, but quite frankly, there isn't one elevator in my small town....or parking garages for that matter!!
LYNN - lol @ taking someone out with the several pounds of coin you carry!!
ZONA - I'll remember to leave your spot open from now on ;)
TINKA - Glad you take precautions and don't go alone!!
SLIN - Never thought of "falling fog" before....I guess that WOULD make everything moist!!
DIANNE - I hope Bingo went well!!
BEBBI - I couldn't imagine you sitting long enough for that game ;)
WHABBY - How was dinner with HUZ? Please wish him a Happy Birthday from Wisconsin!!
ITEACH - How incredibly sad!! My thoughts go out to the families ♥

Congrats on first Lynn. You are beautiful as ever.

10 for the beautiful sunshine we have today.

I have this to report:
At the airport in L.A. the Tina family went thru the fancy scanners....when the youngest emerged he said..."well now they know how big my thing is!"
I don't know what he meant by that...
They missed the flight to Kauai...and are now trying for one to HNL at 2:55PST...
In a recent texting she said "we are praying for HNL...git yer rosary out!"
I said..."how long? (meaning how long til the flt)
She said... "git the whole thing out you idiot!"
We were amused...
SO!! Pray..Chant..cut a rug...send up smoke signals or take up a serpent! Visualize empty seats on the 2:55pm to Honolulu!!
ok....only half of you are trying because only 2 of them got on the plane!
Mr. Tina and the boy left the girls at LAX...to fend for themselves...they are going to try for the flight to HNL at 5:40pm.... midday there were 21 seats available in first class...now there are 12...coach is FULL!!!

Michael - I can't possibly comment on all your posts tonight because there are so many. All I can say is "Thank you for all the work and time you put into your posts today". I think you deserve a medal.
Just_Lin - Congrats on 50. I was getting close and then you beat me. Good on you. I got 10 and 25 so I shouldn't be greedy.
Tinka Good evening. I hope your water therapy goes better for you tomorrow than it did last time. If not, you might want to change to that other group you mentioned.
I must harvest some crops or they will wither soon. I will see you all tomorrow. God bless. Love, Tinka
Tinka Congrats on 10 and 25. I thought I was going to go to Curves today but I am still too sore from my fall last week. Good luck on your therapy tomorrow.
Just_Lin - I am giving my water therapy class one more try and if it's too hard for me I will change to the milder one. Thanks for thinking of me.
Barb I forgot to say I'm glad your tooth isn't bothering you too much. That's one thing I don't miss about having my own teeth.....dentist visits.
I better check my crops, too.

60 For the Tina Clan, wherever they are.
Bear I almost didn't see you! Happy Birthday to Huz! I hope you've had a great night.
I have already said goodnight so I will leave you with a poem--
Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play-
Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song-
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long!
Thanks Ladies for listening.
So many bumps and bruises going on here, I can't keep up with all of them.
Hugs and kisses to all the wounded today.
Tinka nice poem, nice way to end the day, I like that.

MICHAEL - Thanks for the updates on TINA!! Did she finally make it to Kauai?
DIANNE - Do I need to sing to you?
