The Snow White fairy tale has been told and retold since before the days of the Brothers Grimm, and come March 16 director Tarsem Singh will unveil his own version, "Mirror Mirror." Audiences can now get a glimpse of his work, as Relativity Media has released the first full trailer for the film, starring Julia Roberts as the evil queen and Lily Collins ("The Blind Side") as Snow White.
With ornate sets and costumes and sweeping snowy vistas, the trailer hints at the lush visuals Tarsem (as he prefers to be known) has made his trademark. Roberts seems to be having fun playing the catty queen, and Collins shows off some action moves as the leader of a group of bandits — seven diminutive bandits, of course.
The trailer comes on the heels of Tarsem's ancient-Greek action spectacular "Immortals," which opened Friday and dominated the box office over the weekend, and the recently released trailer for that other Snow White vehicle, "Snow White and the Huntsman," which stars "Twilight's" Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron as the evil queen and is set to open June 1.
"Mirror Mirror" also features as its charming prince actor Armie Hammer, who is currently on screen opposite Leonardo Di Caprio in Clint Eastwood's political biopic "J. Edgar."
Good Moaning~
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this~
ReplyDeleteI can't wait more!
ReplyDeleteI can wait
ReplyDeleteI'm going to see this one for sure!! LOL @ "Fetch!" Love it!
ReplyDeleteMorning/afternoon Tina (oh beautiful moaner), Michael, Maureen and Zona!
ReplyDeleteJulia Roberts certainly doesn't have a way with the camera like Marcel the Shell does, but I will probably see this movie when it comes out in DVD. Thank you Michael.
ReplyDeleteI will go to the cinema and sit in a filthy seat.
ReplyDeleteLove that Julie Roberts and Armie Hammer! And Nathan Lane will be typically adorable...
Snow White and the Huntsman will be good as well the following month....
ReplyDeletebut its a scary movie...the evil queen wants Snows heart!!
thumpity thump thumpity thump....
Good Morning Tina, Michael, Maureen, Zona and Shirley. Happy Saturday to you.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I have been having difficulty loading this blog. It starts to load and then the little wheel starts spinning. The only way I can continue on my computer is to shut down and start again. I can go to any site but this one. If I try to go to "Night Owls" the same thing happens. That is why I have been MIA lately. It is very annoying. I use to check the blog first thing. Now I have to wait until I have lots of time.
I will have my Mac Tech in this week and ask him about it. In the meantime please know I am thinking of all of you.
Michael - I am definitely going to buy this movie when it comes to DVD. It intrigues me.
Have a great weekend all owls everywhere.
Waving a wing at everyone! I will have to go see this one.
ReplyDeleteSCREAM! Lynn!! I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!! Isn't THAT the truth!
ReplyDeleteTinka...
I have been concerned about your absence....maybe ur computer tech can fix it easily...glad to hear ur not under the weather or anything like that...
Tina Love your moaning. You do it so well. How does the Mr. feel about it? ;)
ReplyDeleteMichael This movie looks cute. I wonder how often the director has Julia do her trademark (and now annoying)laugh? Isn't it interesting how themes seem to come around in cycles? Right now it is Fairy Tales. There are two such shows on TV, Grimm and Once Upon A Time. And now two Snow White movies.
ReplyDeleteMO LMAO @ you can wait!
ReplyDeleteZona Would Randy be willing to go to the theater to see this kind of movie?
ReplyDeleteShirley Your "oh beautiful moaner" comment made me start humming that to the tune of a very old song, "Beautiful Dreamer". LOL
ReplyDeleteTinka What a bummer that you're having such troubles with the blog. I hope your tech can resolve it for you. We miss you.
ReplyDeleteLynnD Waving a wing at you. Glad you popped in. Grab a branch and stay a while.
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone.....MICHAEL: This movie looks pretty interesting. I really like Julia Roberts. Thanks for posting this for us today.
ReplyDeleteTINA: You are so beautiful today moaning in at first. What have you been up to now that the play is over at school? Been behaving or misbehaving?
TINA: I miss reading your posts every day. I hope your tech guy can fix the blog issue for you. This is the time of year we all like to hear about your buns remember!!!
J/L: Morning to us .....probably afternoon to others. How are things going for you? Are you cooking a turkey this week? I go to my daughters. I passed that torch long ago.
MONTH: Just thought I would reminisce from my old phone days of your name. Lol that you are waiting on the movie. Don't you like JR?
SHIRLEY: I see Lynn had snow today. Have you had any yet? We have twice and now we are having nice weather and I am glad. I don't mind the cold but yesterday it was 67.
LYNN: Great to see you today. I agree with JL....jump on a branch and visit awhile with us. Missed you.
ZONA: How are you today? You still have to go to that Eddie Murphy movie but now I am going tonight so I guess I will be doing the review this time around.
My son is taking me to the movie tonight for a late birthday evening...It will be the first time he and I have been to a movie since he was a young boy so I am looking forward to the time with him.
Everyone have a good day and weekend. BTW, it case some of you were wondering (TINA, ZONA AND SACBARB) the Broncos are doing pretty well with our little TEBOW playing.
Diane: Are you going to see J. Edgar? I thought Armie rocked in it! And really enjoyed the film!
ReplyDeleteIt took ten minutes of waiting for the wheel to stop spinning so that I could check into the comments. The only way I got it to stop the spinning was to click on 'shut down' and then 'cancel' and the wheel stopped and I was in. It doesn't happen anywhere else on the internet. I think spooks got in my MacBook.
ReplyDeleteHi Just-Lin, Dianne and Whabbear.
Michael - Glad to hear you missed me. If I get sick or have a crisis in my life I will get Zona to write so please don't worry about me.
Just_Lin - I am calling my Mac tech this week. I have been using my lap top unstairs because it is more comfortable than being at the big computer down in the family room. I am wondering if I am burning it out with my games. My granddaughter had a cheap lap top and she burned it out in no time playing games. Her new one is just for homework etc. If she wants to play games she must use their big computer. I will ask him about that. I know my lap top gets very hot while I am playing.
Dianne - I have my fruit soaking in rum and juices for my cakes tomorrow. I will let you know how they turn out.
Bear - Where have you been? I thought it was too early for you to be hibernating.
Hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did please forgive me. Good Night and God Bless. Love, Tink.
ReplyDeleteDianne How nice to have a date with your son. What did you see and did you like it? BTW, I'm glad to hear you are liking your Broncos a little better. I'm loving the Niners. :)
ReplyDeleteTinka I don't have a laptop so I don't know if there are drawbacks to playing games on them. I'm glad you were able to get that stupid wheel to stop spinning, though.
ReplyDeleteBear Howdy! It's raining here. I love listening to it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Shirley. Many more to come
