  2. Good Morning Maureen .

Happy New Year one and all.

We will celebrate New Year's quietly at home. I think we are 'done with' the noisy parties. I used to love them but I think we will now 'leave them' to the young. We will have our own party with Tango and Tia, eating and watching TV.

Stay safe everyone. See you in 2012

Tina - Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Dianne - from area 51. We do have a lot of company but I do very little of the work. I have great help.

  3. Happy New Year's Eve morning!

TINA: Looks like a good movie..I didn't know JBJ was in it..cool!

MO: Wishing you the same beautiful lady! :)

TINKA: We are just staying home too..watching TV..the moose horn will be blown at midnight as usual..I hope it ushers in a good year!!

    FROM 51:

TINA: It was colder at night here in AZ? Imagine!! You always tell me I don't know what cold is..HA! I thought I saw your teeth chattering on Tuesday! ;)

Thanks again for meeting me and Randy so late for dinner..your family is awesome..we had a blast! I'm glad you got the warm weather you were looking for..at least during the day! ;D

Have a safe, fun NYE everyone!

  4. MO Thank you and wishing you the same. Congrats on being the prettiest owl to grace this nest on the final day of 2011.

  5. Tinka I am the same as you. Going out with the crowds on NYE just doesn't have the appeal that it once did. I really don't want to be on the roads with the drunks. I think my celebration will be including a filet mignon, sauteed mushrooms, baked potato, and asparagus cooked at home.

  6. Zona One of these days I'm going to have to come see you in Arizona. Not when it's extremely hot, though.

  7. Tina Thanks for the blog. The movie looks cute although I find Ashton Kutcher to be very unappealing. He couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

  8. Dianne From Area 51: Yes, I did get all my decorations up, made Christmas cookies and fudge, got a great tree. I did feel more in the spirit once I had that all done and I could relax about it.

  9. I hope we all have a great 2012. I am very glad to see 2011 end.

  11. There is tons of food for everyone in the dining room. We have a veggie bar, a fruit bar, a sub bar, an ice cream bar, a snack/sweet bar and of course our beverage bar. Our hunky bartender tonight is none other that...Michael!!!!! He will be serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and of course we will have champagne for midnight. There will be a 10 minute fireworks display at 8,9,10 and 11 o'clock and the big fireworks display at midnight down by the tennis courts. You won't want to miss it! All car keys will be confiscated upon your arrival to the party, but they will be returned at the end of the evening IF you pass a breathalyzer test. Now for those of you who get a little carried away with the alcohol we have 2 designated people to take you home...Tinka with her scooter and Tina with Dumb Dog. We have gotten Tinka a new pink scooter and revved it up a bit so she can go 45MPH. It has a heated seat and an attatched sled on the back for her passengers. When she arrives at your home she will simply press the bye bye button and the sled will flip you onto your lawn! Dumb Dog will have a sled attatched to him/her as well and when you get to your home Tina will just use her foot and flip the sled so you are on your lawn! I think that just about covers everything so enjoy the music, food, fireworks and most of all enjoy the company...I know I will! Love you guys! Happy New Year Owls!!!

  12. SHIRLEY...perect timing...I'm famished! I'll have a veggie bar, a fruit bar, a sub bar and an ice cream bar. And some non-alcoholic beverages followed by some alcoholic beverages.

You have out-done yourself this year! Well done and THANKS!

  13. Happy New Years Eve~

Going to a party tonight at the church~ The kids are babysitting the little ones~ (they must really need the money!)

Off to find somethin' to wear~ ugh~

  14. Happy New Years Eve everyone!

I hope it is fun but also safe.

J/L I now drink about a quarter of a cup of lemonade or cranberry juice and then the rest seltzer water or just ice water, to replace the Soda pop. I tried to drink a soda a few weeks ago and I just could not drink it. It was so sweet it just about made me gag. Give this a shot.

I get the sodium free seltzer so it is just carbonated water.

    Waving at everyone!

  15. Oh I forgot we are going out to our annual dinner with Pete and Angel. This year another couple is coming. I am going to have my Cadillac margarita that is as big as my head...oh and maybe some food.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Tina just put on your best habit and all's good. :)

J/L I propose a trip were I go with you to see Zona!

Waving at Mo and Shirley, Tinka and Zona and anyone else that pops in!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Shirley Wow! You've really put out a wonderful spread. I'll have a little something at each of the bars, thank you. Michael has been so quiet lately. He must be studying his Bartender's Guide.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Tina The words "party" and "church" just don't seem to go together for some reason. Hope you have fun, though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. LynnD Thanks for the tips. I'm not a big fan of lemonade or cranberry juice but I do like a little lemon in my ice water so your recipe might work for me.

Great idea for the trip to Arizona. Barb and Sharon sometimes talk of such a trip, too. Maybe we could all get it together and do it before the state turns into Dante's Inferno again.

  20. Help yourself Just Lin! Looks like the food might be all ours!

  21. Evening ladies!

I brought MY bartender for the evening....he's prettier!!

  22. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your friendship. It truly has carried me through the darkest of days this past year.

Wishing you all much love and peace in 2012 ♥

  24. Shirley - I just woke up from my nap - a longer one than usual. I am looking forward to the party and driving everyone home in my new pink scooter. My red one only goes 5 MPH so it will be fun.
Be back in a couple of hours to have some food.

  25. Happy New Year to all the Owls.

Mo, you are so beautiful in first place today. Nice manicure too!

  26. Hi Everyone. Happy New Year to all.

Shirley: thanks for all the food and drinks. Can't wait for the fireworks. U were very thoughtful to fix all of this. If there is any left, can we use it for a big Bronco party tomorrow? We r hoping to win and get in the playoffs. Do u think Michael will be willing to bartend two days in a row?

  29. Tinka, You are so lucky to have so much help. My oldest son was here today to put new windshield wipers on my car. They were a gift from the grandkids. While he was here I imposed on him to help me take my tree down.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Zona & J/L, I probably won't be able to travel to AZ before the inferno sets in, but maybe you guys and Lynn can come here. I think that's a great idea!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jodi: we were writing at the same time. What r u doing tonight? Anything exciting that we can vicariously through?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Shirley, Thanks for all the bars and just in time too. I'm hungry. Do you think Michael can make me a margarita as big as my head? If you don't have big glasses, I can bring my own fish bowl (suggested by Lynn).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tina, J/L is obviously not Catholic. We do church and parties very well!

    ReplyDelete
  34. DIANNE - Reading the book I bought with my gift card. THANK YOU!! Also going to bed early. I open in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lynn, Have fun! I hope you have a DD to get you home safely!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Michael lets see what kinds of drinks you can mix up for these ladies!!! Just put Barb's in the fish bowl she brought! lol!

    ReplyDelete
  37. HAPPY NEW YEAR CASABLANCA!!!!!!!
    WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Fireworks down by the tennis courts!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Michael The new bartender has assets.

    ReplyDelete
  39. HOdi Here's hoping that 2012 brings us lots of smiles and a lot less tears. (((HUGS)))

    ReplyDelete
  40. SacBarb That's a spendid idea! We could have fun and help you recuperate at the same time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dianne LMAO @ your comment to Zona!

I feel left out that I don't have a fish bowl. Will a tall flower vase do? I'd like a large, spicy Bloody Mary.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Shirley Just think....in a few hours you'll be in a different year than we are. That's kind of like being beamed up, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Just Lin you can use whatever you want for your drinks! You could use a bath tub if you wanted to!! Lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm watching the Canada vs USA Hunior hockey game and at the end of the first period Canada was leading 3-0!!

    GO CANADA GO!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Less than 2 hours until 2012 here in NS!!!!!!!

    What's your specialty drink Michael?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Just_Lin - Your dinner sounds delicious. We will be right over.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Shirley - I have made piggies-in-a-blanket and apple pie to add to our party in the nest and to feed us at midnight. Jack is preparing prawns cooked with onion, garlic, red pepper, yellow pepper, mushrooms, celery and ginger. It should be good. I will send some to the nest by Express. We had an early dinner so we should be hungry by eleven.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Zona - I think you are colder than we are too because we have a Pineapple express coming in from Hawaii. Unfortunately it comes with a lot of rain. I would rather have snow at this season.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tina - Have fun at your party. I bet you look beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Lynn - I am going to try your drinks. I must cut out Diet Coke this year. I limit myself to one can a day but no cans would be better.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maureen - I will have the non-alcoholic drinks too. For one reason alcohol can not be taken with some of my meds and more importantly I am a designated driver for the owls tonight. I haven't had an alcoholic drink this millennium. Wow, that is now eleven years.

    ReplyDelete
  52. SacBarb - Happy New Year to you too.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jodi - Let's hope there are only bright days for all the owls this coming year. There was too much sadness this past year. We have had our share I think.
2012, please be kind to us.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Michael - I don't think you can find a bartender prettier than you. I don't blame you for giving the work to someone else. You are just here to have fun. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Dianne - Yes we will be staying up until midnight. I can't remember a year when I didn't. Even as a young teenager I would sit all by myself babysitting and watching TV. As I got older the house parties began and then later the big celebrations at McMoran's By the Sea. They were great. I think being on a cruise ship at New Year's is fun too but nothing can compete with cocooning at home with someone you love.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Canada wins 3-2!!!!!!!!! WoooooooooHooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    17 minutes until 2012!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Tinka..

you are correct...I just don't do well with domestic type things...I wish I were more versatile...

I don't know about that cruise thing for New Years Eve...might want to talk to Shelley Winters and the rest of the passengers aboard the ocean liner SS Poseidon...

    ReplyDelete
  58. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Happy New Year Shirley - We are still waiting out west.

Michael - I was on the Holland America Ship, the Westerdaam, in 1993 for New Year's Eve. It was fantastic. I don't think I would ever want to do it again however. I hadn't seen that movie yet.
