TINA: That was awesome..I loved it! Thank you..not only for the vid..but for the hard work you put into the blog all year. Oh..and of course..Good Moaning! :)

SHIRLEY: Congrats on First on the first day of 2012..you are by far the prettiest today!

TINKA: I hope you've charged you scooter after driving everyone home last night. I was a good cyber daughter..I stayed home so you wouldn't worry. I've spent too many New Year's Eves in the nest on the floor with other owls tripping over me!! Dang those jello shots! ;D

LYNN: I hope the year holds the same for you! Plus a couple more of those margaritas..and a lot of relaxing time at the beach! :)

DI: Now that your question is QOTD..I don't see how it could be too personal..it all started with Randy..that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! ;D

Have a good first day of 2012 everyone!!

  8. I've got the pork roast cooking..we'll have that with sauerkraut tonight..it's supposed to bring good luck for the New Year. I'm not so certain about that..but I wouldn't break the tradition..just in case. I mean..what if all that happened last year was because of the 'good luck'?? YIKES!!

Randy hates sauerkraut..but even he will eat a couple strings of it..just to be safe..lol..

  9. One more thing..GO RAIDERS!! :D

  10. Well dang..now I'm 13..so one more..and I'll be on my way..

  11. Zona: it's very important raiders lose today for my Broncos. I already told u that yesterday!!!

  12. LynnD Were those good wishes toasted with your giant drink? It was so big you had to toast twice. Thank you and same to ya.

  13. Dianne Sorry about the covers. At least I didn't keep you awake with my snoring, right? RIGHT?

  14. Zona I love sauer kraut and pork. I didn't know it was good luck to have it New Year's Day, though. I should be having black-eyed peas as that is a southern tradition that my mom always observed even though she didn't really believe such things. I don't think they would go well with the spaghetti I plan on making for the grandkids tonight. I think they'd be disappointed to see black-eyed peas or sauer kraut for dinner and I don't think they'd eat either one.

  15. Happy New Year!

You can now be detained indefinitely!

  16. Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable NYE.

    What Lynn said!

SHIRLEY...prettiest of 2012! Thanks for the entertainment and food last night.

It's in the 50's today and tonight a blizzard is supposed to start and we may have up to 2ft of snow by Tuesday...DAMN! I'm gonna go to the store in a while and load upon rations, since I will be home tomorrow.

Oh, and yesterday we had an earthquake!

JUST LIN...do you like those flavor packs you can add to water? They do help when I am craving soda

  17. J/LIN: I just googled pork and sauerkraut as a good luck meal..it said it was a tradition in parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio..where there were large German populations. My dad's mom was German and both mom and dad grew up in Ohio..so now it kinda makes sense. Mom always insisted on making it..I never knew exactly why..or maybe I did and forgot..lol..I think the latter is probably true!! :D

DI: Did you? I must have forgotten..I do that a lot.. ;D I still say Go Raiders though! I just checked..we won't get either game..sheesh..

MICHAEL: Yikes! By who? I hope you say Hugh Grant!! :D

MO: Stay inside and stay warm..cuddle up and enjoy some Cary Grant movies! btw..It's 81 here..*ducks behind swimming pool slide* :D

  18. the United States government...it was attached to the last passed piece of legislation...

republicans thought that would be a nice touch....no phone call...no charge against you...no right to representation...you can be held for years with no reason given...

    you know...like gitmo..

  19. oh! its all about security against terrorists...since we had so many attacks on American soil...well...the one anyway...they claim.

  20. we'll teach those occupy protesters!

  21. Zona My son and grandkids are not returning home today after all so if I got up off my butt I could go to the store and get sauerkraut and pork spareribs. Spareribs won't take as long as a pork roast, obviously. I also cut up potato in large chunks and cook them in the pot, too. Yum!

I may be talking myself into it.

  22. MO I got sidetracked thinking about going out to get sauerkraut and pork and forgot to answer you. Sorry. No, I haven't tried those. Do they come without fake sweeteners? Can't stand those. I do drink unsweetened iced tea, too.

  23. Am I serious? I can't believe people don't seem to know that!

Our forth amendment rights are gone.

Indefinite military detention of Americans became the law of the land Saturday, as President Barack Obama signed a defense bill that codified that authority....

Obama doesn't like it...but he signed it saying he wouldn't use it....because he did hold out for a measure to put the laws use strictly in the hands of the president....

But that will not keep some nutcase republican president from using it aggressively....

and as far as I am concerned...he should have never signed it...

you can't believe a damn word any of them say....but make no mistake...its law...as of yesterday!

  24. Military detention. Under what circumstance would that apply? Like when they captured that young man that was fighting alongside the Taliban against our soldiers?

  25. Zona Pork spareribs have been simmering on the stove. :) I guess I'm easily influenced.

  26. Happy New Year again. This is the first time I was able to get to my computer today. We got up and went to Brunch at the Oak Bay Marina. The sun shining on the water with the mountains clear in the background fed my soul more than the food fed my stomach. I hardly ate anything but my grandson Thomas made up for it. He sure can eat. We came home. I had a nap and then company from the neighbourhood came for a New Year's visit. They just left and I am exhausted. I will save the video and reading the comments for the morning. I just wanted to check in and say "All the best in 2012". I will be back in the morning.

  27. Tinka It sounds like you started your year off right.

  28. J/L...

this is a draconian piece of legislation that extends the reach of detention without trial to include US citizens arrested in their own country...

It leaves a wide interpretation on what constitutes a terrorist... Are the citizens who have the right to change or abolish the goverment according to the constitution concidered a terrorist then?

Google...do something...I mean...this information isn't Kim Kardashions New Years Resolutions...but it is news..

  29. Just_Lin - Yes we started off what hopes to be another wonderful year.

Tina - I just played the video and it was awesome. I loved it.

I will read everyones's comments in the morning. I am ready for sleep. God bless all the little owls in the nest tonight. love, tink
