This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Good Morning Michael - Congrats on being first and most beautiful.
Good morning Tina - You are lovely too.
Sorry I have been MIA. I think I am in a January slump. I can't think of anything to write. Zona, sorry I didn't watch your video yesterday. I will today and I will get back to you. You are so good at sending in blogs.
We had very high winds last night. I hope our fence is intact. Part of it fell down during the high winds we had two days ago. Thank God Jack was home because the doggies had escaped into the next yard and were about to embark on an adventure.
It is calm now and Jack is on his first trip to Vancouver since his episode. Our son went with him to learn the way and hopefully he will take over the Vancouver fish deliveries.
Zona - Your video is amazing. I was mesmerized. I am, however, very thankful that none of my family is interested in high risk sports. I worry enough just having them driving on the highway at night. Thanks for sharing. Talk to you later.
Hi, Michael. Nice hair. Sorry, I didn't laugh at the vid but thanks for sending it in. I guess I don't understand the screaming and overreacting. Yes, it would be a shock in that situation but I'm pretty sure I would mumble, "F*** me" and gingerly step around in and out of the stall.
Tinka I'm so glad the dogs didn't get to go on a big adventure and only made it next door. I hate the high winds. I'm always worried about my trees and the fence. I've had both come down before and what a pain in the butt that is.
Miguelito~ I thought this wideo was hilarious~ pee'd my pants when I watched it~ THANK YOU SO MUCH for sending it in~ Ur a godsend.....there....that good enuf?~
Tinka~ for the love of God, please comment on Michael's wideo~ :)~
J/L~ I think I would scream Fuck Me Running!!!~ AND RUNNNNNNNNN~
Tina Well, I'm not afraid of snakes. Now if it was a huge spider, it might be a different story, although I'm just not a screamer, unless you count in bed. LOL (jk)
I'm not afraid of snakes either as long as I am in control of the situation....
but most people are...and the last man who was all soaped up was hilarious...
I hope that never happens to you Shirley!
My younger sister is deathly afraid of snakes. She spotted a large water moccasin in her pool one day. OMG! I tried to push her in with it but her husband made me stop.
That gives me an idea. I could mail her a box of snakes to kick of her summer!!
MICHAEL: As with the cockroach vid..and the whale eating the flamingo vid..I'm too afeared to watch this one..I hate snakes waaay too much..
You look gorgeous in first..really, really beautiful...hope that makes up for not watching the video! :D
WAIT!! What the heck..Why are you going to get the voodoo doll?
TINKA: I don't know if I can risk sending anymore blogs in!! ;D
TINA: So did you like my blog yesterday???? ;D :D
J/LIN: I think I would scream..or yell..are they the same..I'm not sure..but I'm pretty vocal..so one or the other for sure.. ;D
SHIRLEY: Good to see you sans hazmat!
Just got off the phone about a half hour ago with the computer guy..I was on there for 4 1/2 hours!! He told me he's POSITIVE that everything is fixed now...but he said he was going to call Friday to make sure my computer was 'not having any issues' lol...
Oh Michael - What can I say to make you forgive me?
I mentioned in my comment that I was in a slump and that senior moment proved it. When I staggered out of my bedroom this morning, looking like Bette Davis in her later years, all I had on my mind was that I didn't comment on Zona's video yesterday. I turned on the computer, slid right past today's video without seeing it or who sent it and tried to post something. I never checked the blog again. That is not the normal me. I checked my farms. had a Slim Fast and a nap. (I think I am half hibernating bear).
I just got up and saw what I had done and what you said. I am almost in tears here thinking that I hurt your feelings so much you left the room sobbing. I assure you that although Zona is my BFF I love you more than I love any other single gay man on this blog. What can I do to make it up to you? Well first I will check your blog and comment. After that it is your choice.
Now what you can do for me is to get rid of Zona's voodoo doll. You know some nights she can't sleep worrying about it. I know you will do that for me.
Now go and have a nice cup of cocoa and stop worrying. I promise that will never happen again.
Jack and Kevin will be here in a few minutes for a little visit before they start off to the farm. They have to put the baby fish they just brought back from their producers in Vancouver in water. It may be a while before I get back to the video but don't panic Michael. I will be back.
Zona we had technical issues with our computers at the office today too. Our tax program wasn't working right so we contacted technical support and they went in remotely. 4 1/2 hours later they entered a licence # in and that fixed everything. I don't think the guy had a clue. He kept coming back to the licence screen but didn't do anything! Anyway it is fixed now. Hopefully we will be able to print cheques on Monday...we weren't able to try that today. By the time he finished looking around in the computer we were tired and went home.
Michael - I watched your video and I would say it was more scary than mesmerizing. It was very funny when the soapy man ran out. You have sent in many blogs. I liked your Ben Breedlove and misunderstood spider. My favourite blog you sent in was "All I Want For Christmas is You". Keep sending them in. We appreciate it. How about an Elvis love song one Sunday? That would perk up my winter blues.
Hi to all the other owls in the nest today. I will try and get back later to comment. If I don't please take pity on a Canadian Senior Citizen. Love, Tink
Tina - My post might have appeared to be an hyperbole but I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings. Michael took the time to send in a blog and I literally "blew it off". That is not something I am proud of. My only excuse is a confused mind. Michael deserved an apology.
Now I feel like I ignored other owl's posts but don't have the energy to scroll down and find them. That's why sometimes I need to take a break from the blog. Not because I don't love the owls but because I do.
ur so funny...Bette Davis in her later years....lol
reminds me of an interview that Helen Hayes did when she and Bette made "The Whales of August." This was after Bette's stroke. Always the consummate "Hollywood Star"....Bette had insisted on top billing...
Helen didn't care...she said "oh let her have it...my heavens...have you seen her face!?" lol
Just knowing that you love me more than any other single gay man on this blog is plenty for me.
You know, if something like that is going to happen to you, you're in the perfect place. Anywhere else and you are in a world of hurt because (as Bill Cosby once put it) "First you say it. Then you do it."
Okay. Now on to the other reason for this post. I'm cross posting from FB.
Just a bit of bad news and some really good news.....
Mom still isn't really feeling up to posting on the net, but it will come soon. You can bet on that. She's still on a lot of the loopy juice and it's really hard for her to focus on anything for more than a couple of minutes.
All of the tubes have come out. She still has a port in her neck so that they can give her any meds and she still has a heart monitor hooked up to her. Everything else is gone. She's been moving around and getting in and out of bed on her own.
Appetite is coming back and that (in and of itself) is amazing. I have no idea how she manages to choke down what they pass off as food. As of tonight though, they have her on a strict liquid ration. Her legs are still really swollen and because of that she can only have 1 liter of liquid a day and that includes anything they give to her in/with food. That's gonna be hard.
Her legs may be swollen but her caboose is gone because she walked it off today. She went for 3 walks and each time she did better and better. It turns out that there are 3 different "laps" that she can take around the unit. The first walk was the short one. The second walk was the middle one and the last walk was the longest one they have. She didn't really want to take the long way on the last walk but I cracked the whip and she did it. Not only did she do it, but she did it well. I was proud of her because I know her back and hip are killing her and she didn't have the confidence in herself that she could do it. She even managed a bit of celebratory booty shaking (and the photographer was without camera. I'm kicking myself for that one.) toward the end of the last walk. She was able to maintain conversation and only had to stop once on each (and twice on the last) "lap".
I gave her a call after I got home tonight just to give her a heads up on the plan for tomorrow and she was whooped. All of the activity today (no mater how productive) had finally caught up to what little booty was left. She may be a bit tired tomorrow so she'll probably back it off just a bit.
And if you're still reading this far, it's time for the best news. Mom's been working for it, so I'm making you work too. :)
It looks like she'll be coming home on Friday. AMEN!!
