Here we are..well into the new TV season..and another one of my favorite shows has been cancelled...Prime Suspect is no more. First NBC got rid of The Playboy Club..and now this one. It's not like they have anything good to replace them with either..The Firm? Yuck! There are two more shows that I really like too..although the way they cancel stuff anymore..you're almost afraid to get into them. One is 'Grimm' the other 'Once Upon A Time'. They are both about Fairy Tales in the real world. Very cool. Randy likes Grimm..where a police detective can see that people around him are really creatures from Grimm's Fairy Tales. It's kind of a darker take on the stories we read as kids. I can never quite figure out exactly which story they are talking about..but I love the Bludbot Monroe. The fairy tale characters in Once Upon A Time are much easier to identify..and that's half the fun of the show. The story is also great..the Evil Queen, who hates Snow White, casts a spell that exiles all the inhabitants of the fairy tale kingdom to the town of Storybrooke Maine..where none of them remember who they are..except the Evil Queen herself. Dr. Hopper is Jiminy Cricket..teacher Mary Margaret is Snow White..and the waitress at the diner is Little Red Riding Hood. Did I mention Mr. Gold? He's really Rumpelstiltskin..and boy is he creepy!! Both shows are very good..if you haven't seen either one of them..check them out..I have a feeling you'll really like them!
Good Moaning~
ReplyDeleteZona~ LOVE Once Upon A Time~ LOVE LOVE LOVE~ better not xxl it~ Haven't watched Grimm.....hubby likes that one~ Thanks for the blag~
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Tina - Congrats on being first.
ReplyDeleteZona - I am rushing because I have a doctor's appointment in less than an hour. I will read your blog when I get back.
Happy Groundhog day to everyone. Hoping you all have an early spring.
Good morning TINA you beauty and TINKA who is just as beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm off today because I have to work Saturday.
ZONA...don't take my lack of comment on your blag as negative. I can't watch the vid and I haven't seen either of these shows.
SAC BARB...so wonderful to have seen you post. I hope each day finds you stronger and feeling better.
Punxatawny Phil saw his shadow...6 more weeks of winter :(
ReplyDeleteTelevision is just not the same anymore without Ren & Stimpy...
ReplyDeleteI watch Downtown Abbey on PBS...
Desperate Housewives on ABC...
Pan Am on ABC
Dance Moms on Lifetime
Rosie on OWN
Oprahs New Chapter on OWN
Survivor on CBS
60 minutes on CBS
Bill Maher on HBO
Jay Leno and Letterman if they have a guest that I want to see...
SNL on NBC
and I always watch the Oscars and the Tony Awards...
Those shows in the video sound so fascinating that I wouldn't want to get into them because I feel sure from the information here that they are in the process of being cancelled if they haven't gotten their walking papers already.
The really good ones always die young...damn!
rolls eye...
Tina Good moaning, Beautiful! I hope you don't plan on using our toilet today. ijs
ReplyDeleteZona I like both those shows as well. My very favorite show right now is still Modern Family which is smart and very funny. I also really like The Good Wife. I liked Pan Am a lot, too. Was it cancelled? Has anybodey seen Boss on Starz? Kelsey Grammar just won an award for it. It is very good, also.
ReplyDeleteTinka I hope you are having a good day and that all is well. I have a cold and my throat hurts. :(
ReplyDeleteMO I think we aren't getting enough of a winter here. Not enough snow in the high elevations which will effect our water supply. It's absolutely gorgeous out today, though.
ReplyDeleteMichael I usually watch Letterman but watch Leno if there's a guest I really want to see. I enjoy the awards shows, too. They were more fun for me when I saw most of the movies or stage productions, though. Then I could really root for a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI know J/L...
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a single nominated film this year so I will be watching the Oscars for Billy Crystal I guess....lol
Hello Everyone. How are all of you today?
ReplyDeleteZONA: I did watch Grimm but didn't care for it too much. I haven't watched the other. I am a reality and crime show watcher (crime show because that is what Louis has on a lot). Thanks for doing a blog!!!
MICHAEL: I like Survivor too. It is getting ready to start soon. I wonder what twists or if someone from another show will come back on again? I think Apprentice and Amazing Race will be starting soon. Have you ever watched Amazing Race? It is a pretty interesting show to watch to see all the places and customs of where they go. You might like it.
J/L: Why don't you do to movies? I love to go. Too bad you don't live closer to me and we could go hang out at the movies. You know I not only love the award shows but the Miss America shows as well! :)
TINK; Glad to see your little owl today...missed you yesterday. I hope all goes well at the doctor. I just came back from one too for a shot and blood work.
They (weather people) are saying we are in for quite a blizzard of up to 18" of snow in town. MO, I guess you are really right that the little guy saw his shadow. We are so hoping that the weather is wrong. I have some plans that don't include snow.
MICHAEL AND J/L: There is still time to get to your local movie theater to see some of the shows. Maybe at least the Descendants. It really is a good show. It seems like I have gone to a few movies all of a sudden lately. Feast or Famine as they say!!
BARB: Hope you continue to get better each day.
Dianne...
ReplyDeleteOn this Survivor its called One World. Its the men against the women and they all will be together rather than the tribes separating.
No returning survivors but a very interesting batch of people. I have seen and listened to them all talk....can't wait to see how their big talk equates into surviving...lol
I'm still loyal to Dexter and Homeland is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments today!! Grimm is on tomorrow night if you want to give it a try..unless something preempts it..which happens a lot and is..I think..one of the reasons some of the good shows get cancelled..people can't find them!
TINA: At first I couldn't understand why they would make OUAT Extra Extra Large..but I finally figured it out..duh.. ;D
TINKA: Spring? I'm still waiting for Winter! ;D
MO: I know you can't..SWAK!!! :)
Oh..and could you please send Phil here..I would be happy with 6 DAYS of Winter! :D
MICHAEL: I watch Pan Am..love it..Desperate Housewives..disappointed in it this year..60 Minutes and Bill Maher, too. I don't watch a lot of TV..I thought this was going to be a banner year..but they cancelled so many I liked..hmmmm..do you have an NBC voodoo doll by any chance? ;D
J/LIN: I have had so many friends tell me to watch Modern Family..I don't know why I haven't yet. I hate missing a whole season of something and then trying to catch up..I'll have to rent the seasons I've missed. How long has it been on?
DI: When does Survivor start? I might try that again..I watched it for years..but gave it up because of Baaawston Rob..ick.. :D
There's a new show on this Spring called "Magic City" that looks really good..I'm going to try and watch that one..
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest here..I couldn't remember the name of the above show..so I googled this:
"New show on cable about gambling that stars the guy that played Denny in Grey's Anatomy"
TaaDaa!! :D
J/LIN: Pan Am is on Sunday nights at 9pm here..it's on right after Once Upon A Time and Desperate Housewives..same channel..ABC I think..
ReplyDeleteYou might have missed it because they preempted it for a couple weeks..
Does anyone watch The Big Bang Theory? I LOVE that show!!!
Zona - Those two shows sound great for me. I will PVR them and watch them when I am alone. I don't think they will appeal to Jack. He watches shows like NCIS.
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Tina, Maureen, Michael, Just_Lin, Dianne, and Zona-My-Baby.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all had a fun Ground Hog Day.
Maureen - Punxatawny Phil saw his shadow...6 more weeks of winter. Well in Canada we have Wiarton Willie in Ottawa and Shubenacadia Sam in Nova Scotia and they did not see their shadows saying we would have an early spring in Canada. We will see which rodent is correct.
ReplyDeleteMichael - We watch the news and that's it. Every evening we watch a DVD from a series that we have bought. Right now we are finishing up E.R. (season 12) Season 13 and 14 are waiting for us in the HMV store. I remember when there was something good to watch every night of the week. We then had 4 channels. Now we have 400 channels and are not interested in any reality shows. There are so many of those.
ReplyDeleteJust_Lin - I will try "Modern Family" and "Good Life". They might be good ones to buy. Santa brought me six seasons of "How I Met My Mother". I had never watched the show but I really have enjoyed them. I watch two episodes each day at noon before I go to sleep.
ReplyDeleteDianne - Thanks for missing me yesterday. We were so busy I just didn't have a chance to look at the blog. I will get caught up soon.

ReplyDeleteI am tired tonight so I think I will 'pack it in' soon.
ReplyDeleteGood Night owls everywhere.
Good night Tink
ReplyDeleteSurvivor starts February 15th....
ReplyDeletehttp://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/
There are 4 HOT guys on Survivor this time that I would do...
ReplyDeleteand a little person!! Dwarf? I am not sure what the PC term is but he is a cutie too....
He is already being made fun of on the Survivor website so I am hoping he kicks some survivor ass!
Tinka Tinka Tinka....
ReplyDeleteif u always watch DVDS...and lets say the earth is attacked by aliens...
you will be the last to know because it would be on tv first!!
of course unless they block tv and web signals. That would be forward thinking of them wouldn't it.
Just wanted to mention that. I had better stop talking about them as I am sure they are listening...
TINKA: G'night..sweet dreams!
ReplyDeleteMICHAEL: Thanks for the Survivor info..
DI: Has it started to snow yet?
I know you probably told me 10 times when Survivor starts..but you know how my memory is..you're still gonna come visit me..aren't you? ;D
Good evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch much TV but take out lots of DVD's from the library.
Like TINKA, I have been watching How I Met Your Mother. I am on season 5 right now.
JUST LIN...I have watched the Good Wife DVD's and love that show. I hope you feel better soon.
I also got really into Royal Pains!
DIANNE...i hope the forecast is wrong and you don't get that nasty blizzard they are predicting.
ZONA...I would gladly give you our 6 more weeks of winter. I'm a giver!
OMG! I forgot about my fav show!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of it but its a show where 3 people compete for money and prizes by spinning a wheel that is laying on its side (I guess it fell) and picking letters and buying vowels to solve a word puzzle!!
its one of those white knuckles shows!! It usually takes me an hour to calm down after the bonus round...
LOL Michael!
ReplyDeleteSnowing hard and all the schools closed. I already have cabin fever!!
ReplyDeleteDianne My daughrer was there for work last week and they are sending her there again next week.
ReplyDeleteI can't breathe through my nose. I hate when that happens. Have a bit of a temp, too. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.
