This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Those pumpkins are fantastic. What a talented husband you have Zona. Randy are you taking orders for next year yet? I would love to have Tango and Tia immortalized. I would pay big bucks for it. That's what you should be getting for all of them.
Tonight's the big night but we have been busy for the past week. It sure is fun isn't it?
Zona Thanks for sharing Randy's artistic talents with us. You must end up with a lot of pumpkin seeds. Do you ever roast them? I've never done that and I've never tasted one, either.
Tinka Pumpkins with Tia and Tango carvings would be sooo cute! Did you get decorations up? I didn't, I'm afraid. My left shoulder has been bothering me for months and I think I overdid it exercising the other day and made it worse.
SacBarb What about you? I know you don't get much in the way of Trick-or-Treaters but are you prepared, just in case? I'm overly prepared as far as candy goes.
Just-Lin - I did get my decorations up with the help of my grand daughter. She did a great job. I think it is getting too much for me. I hate to admit that but it's true.
Dianne - I have been following your progress and I am sorry I haven't been commenting on it. I get so engrossed in things like Halloween I don't do what I should. I am happy to see you improving. I love popsicles. Your lunch sounded pretty good.
Barb - Randy is so sweet I know he would do them for me but I was pretty cheeky to ask. My only excuse is that I was only half awake.
Just_Lin - We always roast the pumpkin seeds with butter, salt and pepper cooked at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. They are delicious. They are like peanuts. Once you start eating them you can't stop.
We have had a busy week. Making pumpkin and apple pies and hot dog buns took a couple of days. Jack helped me with the clean-up. We celebrated Halloween on Saturday with our son, daughter-in-law and the two littlest grandchildren. They stayed all day and really had a fun time. Jack and I were exhausted when they left but we loved every minute of it.
An hour ago, our daughter, son-in-law and older grandchildren came for trick or treat. Their friends came too. They were all in costume. For the first time I realized after they left that I didn't take my annual pictures. We are heading over to their house in a couple of hours for their party. I won't forget my camera. We only get a few kids here but they always get over 100. I think that's partly because they decorate the front of their house very creatively. Wherever you walk something jumps out at you or says something. They get a lot of visitors who come just to see the house.
J/L, I have a meeting tonight so I won't be home until 8:30 or 9:00 and I didn't buy any candy. I can't trust myself with random candy in the house. If I do get any trick or treaters, I'll give them a dollar. It's much cheaper than buying candy, although I have gotten zero for the past 4-5 years.
Zona, the pumpkins are so cool!! I can't get Jim to carve the Turkey right lol!
It was a very bust day here again. I have added more to my busy schedule, cleaning out my basement! Washing walls, buying carpet and getting a contractor to put up a new ceiling. We had a lot of water damage from years past and never really cleaned it up right. Now I want to put all my exercise equipment down there for the winter. The garage gets pretty cold!
I am heading to bed and waving at Tinka, LynnD, SacBarb,Zona, Diane, JustLin, and all who swoop in after trick or treating :)
I am wishing Tina a very happy birthday and many more.
Mary, I pt really sounds like you are very busy
Louis said we had no trick or treaters I guess they had about 30 here. The kids are so cute. Well, my last night in this miserable bed. Tomorrow will be sad a little bit.
Tink, thanks for the good wishes. I feel like I'm on to,the next step what ever that may be!!!
Now I just got sad again telling my night CNA goodbye. She has been so kind to me.
Thank you for all the comments today..I am so glad you liked the carvings..Randy is too!! He thanks you as well for the kind words!
LYNN: I thought I was going to have a hard time uploading the pics to FB..but I was surprised how easy it was! I did it late at night tho..just in case.. :D
TINKA: I'm sure Randy wouldn't mind doing portraits of Tango and Tia!! It might be difficult to get them to you..but we could work it out I'm sure! :)
J/LIN: Only 6 of the pumpkins he carved this year were real..the rest are what they call 'craft pumpkins'..they last forever. I think he ended up carving 40 or so. I have roasted pumpkin seeds..too much work separating the seeds from the goop tho..much easier to buy them. I don't really like them that much..but my sister LOVES them. I like roasted soybeans much better!
BARB: We don't keep any of them..no room!!! :D
JMM: I bet if I suggested it..Randy would carve a turkey to look like a pig..LOL!!! :D
I am absolutely pooped..it's been a really long day..we had over 325 trick or treaters..more than last year. Had a lot of fun too.
Sweet dreams everyone..and although I'm really late..
Zona I had two more kids come by after it started raining so I ended up with 14 trick-or-treaters. You should see all the candy I have left. This is not good....
Happy Halloween Glories!
ReplyDeleteZona tell Randy those are fantastic!
You need to share these on facebook so I can share his talent with all of my friends!
Hope everyone gets more treats than tricks today. :)

ReplyDeleteTinka, I bet Randy would do one with your fur babies for you.
Lynn, I hope you're feeling better. Are Richard and Eva going Trick or Treating?
Hi and Happy Hallowen.
ReplyDeleteZona, these pumpkins are great and show how much time he spends on them. Today is a big day in your house. U should do a video outside and show us.
Lynn, what are the kids costumes this year?
Tinka, it's nice to see you the hardest part of doing that pumpkin for you would be mailing it. Lol
Big Halloween day around here costumes, music, etc.
LynnD Happy Halloween to you, too! I'm dragging today. I woke up early but went back to bed and now it's late. Oh, well.

ReplyDeleteBarb - Randy is so sweet I know he would do them for me but I was pretty cheeky to ask. My only excuse is that I was only half awake.
