An old Farmer's Words of Wisdom we could all live by.......
The last quote fits everyone...
“Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.”
“Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.”
“Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.”
“A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.”
“Words that soak into your ears are whispered…....not yelled.”
“Meanness don't just happen overnight.”
“Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.”
“Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.”
“It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.”
“You cannot unsay a cruel word.”
“Every path has a few puddles.”
“When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.”
“The best sermons are lived, not preached.”
“Most of the stuff people worry about, ain't never gonna happen anyway.”
“Don't judge folks by their relatives.
“Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.”
“Live a good and honorable life, then when you get older and think back,
you'll enjoy it a second time.”
“Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't bothering you none.”
“Timin' has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.”
“If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.”
“Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.
“The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'.”
“Always drink upstream from the herd.”
“Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.”
“Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.”
“If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.”
“Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.”
“Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.”
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteDI: One for me to live by..if I could ever convince myself that is..
"Most stuff people worry about..ain't never gonna happen anyway.."
Life would be so much easier if I could just believe this one!! :)
I also really like..'You can't unsay a cruel word' and 'Sometimes silence is the best answer'! They are all good though..Great blog DI..thank you! :)
Hi Zona. Prett at first again. You are just bustling this week!!
ReplyDeleteI slept a tiny bit later and now I'm all spiffed up and ready to go out in the 30 degree weather. Guess I might need a jacket. I hate to wear coats.
Everyone (especially Louis ) tell me worrying doesn't help. Well darn, wish someone would have told me that many years ago. I probably wouldn't have gray hair or wrinkles!!!
Looks like everyone is sleeping in today Zona so let's yell WAKE UP!!!
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteAll good advice. :)
Hope everyone is having a great day. Grandma and Richard are going to the movies later with Angel and Kaydance. I guess you could call it a date for the toddler set.
Zona Oh, you look sooo pretty in first today! That one about worrying really is true. You probably know that from experience. :)
ReplyDeleteDianne Thanks for the blog. They are all great.
ReplyDeleteYou may not be living in the right part of the country if you hate wearing coats. ;)
LynnD Oh, boy, a toddler date. What are you going to see?
ReplyDeleteHome from a busy day. Met my friend for a long lunch and then old coworkers for a happy hour. There was a lot of cane/limping involved. It was good to have a busy day. Louis is out of town until tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteI had to turn the heat on tonight as its 36 outside. Brrr. Even I am cold. JL, I carry a coat more than wear it since I'm not really outside much unless its snowing.
Lynn, hope you had fun at the movie date. Already being the chaperone!
Very quiet blog today. Tina, where are you lately?
I took myself out to dinner. Just me and my book.
ReplyDeleteDianne It sounds like you had a fun day with friends. I'm so glad you got out and socialized, cane or not. By the way, it's 60* here right now.
JL, where did you go to dinner? That's nice you treated yourself. If we just lived closer we could have hung out!!
ReplyDeleteDianne I had a nice prime rib dinner at a local little restaurant that's only a mile or so from my house.
