  5. Mary I guess it's about 20 degrees warmer out on my deck than it is at your house. I'm in the shade of a mountain and trees so the street below me is warmer as the sunshine can reach it. For some reason, I couldn't get my hands warm last night. Is that a sign of old age, I wonder?

  8. Afternoon Owls....every one awake now??

I just came home from a long pt workout. Mondays are always hard because I'm stiff from the weekend. I do my exercises but not the same on my own.

Lovely at first today Lynn....our little morning owl.

Barb, thanks for the blog. They were all pretty cute but I liked that George Washington one. Made me laugh.

Mary, it's chilly here today. It was 30 when I was out and looks like it rained this morning. It's supposed to get nice again tomorrow. We really need some snow in the mountains. The ski people are making their own snow to keep up.

JL, are you doing your exercises? Why didn't they have you come back a few times? I just find it hard to be as motivated and focused at home.

My tummy is a little better today. Hope it stays that way. This morning sickness is for the birds and I don't mean owls!!!

  9. Hi Everyone - Sorry I am so late in getting back to you but it couldn't be helped. My eyes are still blurry from the drops but I will make it quick.

With regards to going to the Emergency on the weekend I was getting ready to go when my daughter the nurse (who is now manager of the 4th floor) phoned me and said it was absolutely wild down in Emerge. There were people lined up 4 deep. There was no way i could sit for a few hours. She spoke to one of the doctor's and he thought the best thing to do was to stay very still until Monday when I could see my specialist.

I have a history with my eyes. About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Macular Pucker (not to be confused with Macular Degeneration), It started with floaters and over the 5 years has progressed to the point where I can not see anything but a blur with my left eye. He said the right eye has the beginning of Macular Pucker. (It is like seeing through crumpled celephane). He said it could develop in 3 months like the left eye did or it could last 10 years. That was five years ago and so far my right eye was fine until the flashes of light. I was afraid the retina may be ripping. I got in to the specialist and he said the flashes of light were the eye pulling from the retina but it has not ripped. If it does they will operate on the retina. That isn't fun but not too serious.
The Macular Pucker (however) is a different matter. It had progressed only a little so that was good. There is an operation they can do when the sight gets really bad. However the odds are not good. There is a 30 % chance it will help but a 30 % chance I will lose the 10% sight I had and a 30% chance nothing will change. It means 6 weeks in hospital not moving your head. The whole idea gives me the creeps and I have to leave it in the hands of a Higher Power. In the meantime I will rest my eyes more often(Doctor's orders) and keep as healthy as i can.
Sorry for the long account but I couldn't make it shorter.

I will catch up with the blogs in a couple of days.
Be good. Stay safe. Love, Tinka

  10. Thanks for the update, Tink. I'm glad you got to the dr today and they were able diagnose you. It is scary when its anything with the eyes. I also think its hard to rest your eyes when we use them all the time. Now you will be in my prayers that it doesn't get any worse. When do you have to go back?

  11. Dianne I'm sorry you still don't feel well. What do you think the cause is? Have you thought about going to the doctor?

I have been doing my exercises and will see the physical therapist again in 3 more weeks. I'm not sure yet if the exercises are helping but at least they aren't making things worse. Also, my shoulder hasn't been aching while at rest like it used to be so that must be a step in the right direction. It still hurts when I make certain movements and movement is still has limits. I'm also doing exercises she recommended for my hip pain. I also went back to Curves today and then took the dog on a walk by the pier afterward.

  12. Tinka I, too, am glad you were able to see your eye specialist today. Please take care of yourself. Does the glare from the computer screen bother you? If so, do you think it would helpt to wear sunglasses?

  13. JL, I don't know what's wrong with me but I do know I'm not pregnant!!! I felt like this a couple of years ago and the dr had be going all over for tests including an ear dr and then it finally went away. I probably won't go to dr at this point.

Tink, that's a good idea JL has with sunglasses. I would think that might help a lot.

I'm trying to get up spunk to do Christmas cards....soon, yes soon.

  14. Dianne Maybe it does have to do with your ears and equilibrium. Have Louis pick up some Dramamine for you and see if that helps.

  15. Tinka, so glad you were able to post today. I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

I can't believe another day has flown by! It seems the "man cave" needed a couch, so we moved the futon in the spare bedroom to the basement. We forgot we put it together in there! Needless to say, it had to come apart to get it out!
Hubby hooked up our Karaoke system so we could practice. We are booked at our VFW for New Years Eve.

Diane, "morning sickness?". Just how much anesthesia did they give you and did you feel "really good" after surgery ;-)

  17. Long day yesterday. Worked until 11:30, CSI Meeting at noon, and then our Year End Meeting at 5:30pm!! Very profitable day! Don't know many companies that are so committed to sharing their profits with their co-workers. We usually get a base 8 percent cash bonus, but this year they paid us 9 percent!! Woot woot!!
